The round was set in the Badgers' favor, would they be able to take advantage of it?
The snakes split apart from each over, both seeming to scramble. Henry went for his wand. Was it to the left of the stage? Or had it landed behind him? He looked around as quickly as he could, finally locating the precious piece of wood. His power had returned to him. The second he took his focus from the field it had cost him.
Lea Hirschcasts had ripped a mean rictusempra right at the poor boy. He would find himself being tickled by tiny little invisible hands. Not a nice tickle either, they were causing him pain. Intense pain. Dozens of small hands grabbing and twisting at his flesh. Galton shivered at the sight. Poor, poor Henry.
The other Badger - Alexa - was busy crafting one of the most perfect incendio duos Galton had ever seen. A serious work of art, you could tell that Alexa had taken the gap in Slytherin attack to truly focus. She seemed to be so caught up in the spell crafting that she forgot to think about the aiming part. Whoever was meant to receive the perfect flame, it couldn't have been who she flicked it to. It headed strait for Lea. Uh oh... Luckily, and truly luckily, it went wide, and narrowly avoided her partner. The stage was left singed in the flames wake.
Then there was our last snake. Galton thought Bridget must've been happy-ish? Hopefully she had worked through the knot in her tongue and was ready to go with her next spell. She had some pretty nice evasive moves this round, even if they were ultimately unneeded.

Where is it? Where is it? It had to be around here somewhere right?
Henry searched the area for his mayhaw wand before his blue gaze landed on it and he jumped to grabbed it, however when the third year kneeled down to grab his wand a sharp pain hit him from Lea's spell.
The teen suddenly felt a tricking sensation, his body tighten up as he kept a focus face while biting his lower lip to keep from laughing. Trying to decide if the sensation tickled or hurt more?
Henry looked over at Bridget, luckily she didn't get hit and could speak again. Both Snakes were back in the duel and ready to cast their spells. At least the teen hoped his spells would succeed, he had a fleeting feeling that they would fail and not only prove to himself but also to his captain that he didn't belong on the team. That he was the reason for their bad luck.
Henry aimed his wand for the hufflepuffs however with the tickling sensation he kept lowering his arm in a attempt to block out the feeling as he tighten his limbs and focused on their opponents. He had to win this duel. He had to. He had to prove to himself that he is a duelist and he belonged on the team because if he failed then he was letting that little voice in his ear win.

Familiar with the Tongue-Tying Spell, she knew she just had to wait it out. The goal, at this moment, was to avoid getting hit while she strained against the knot in her tongue and hope she'd only miss one volley of spells. The Hufflepuffs had to know that too, of course, so while she was staring them down, weight shifted to the balls of her feet so she was ready to move, there was no need. No, Henry was the target.
Had her tongue not been tied, she could have called out something useful, a 'look out', to warn him of incoming spells. It was considerably harder to divide your attention between dodging and finding your wand than dodging and regaining function of your tongue, since the former required looking down. Her eyes widened ever so slightly at the bright glow produced from Alexa's wand, promising powerful magic. Maybe if she stomped or something, would that convey her warning? But the flames were misfired, like her Ventus only worse, coming so very close to catching on Lea.
She'd done that in a previous duel--she'd really failed in all the eye-catching ways, hadn't she?--except the Flipendo she was thinking of had actually hit Santario. That moment had felt worse than her backfires, although Santario was far more forgiving than she was of herself. On the topic of her old partner, she risked a glance over at her stage, just long enough to catch the fire flung across the piste and not long enough to pick up on the tension. It looked to be going okay enough, no one fallen. Turning back, she lost the moment she might have used to tap out a signal, for whatever it might have been worth, watching as Henry took Lea's Tickling Charm. Stop getting distracted. Right, she could hear about the other duels later.
Henry was suffering from the magical tickles, the painful sort that might make you beg for the tickler to stop, but he did have his wand back and she, her tongue. "Let's try that again." For communication's sake, he needed to hear her to know she was back in action, and it seemed fitting. She had a poor start to make up for.

Alexa shouted her spell, and as the tip of her wand blazed with flames, her momentary satisfaction turned to horror as the flames shot unexpectedly sideways at her partner, who, thankfully, nimbly dodged out of the way. The wolf within her snarled in surprise as Alexa gasped out, "I'm so sorry," hurriedly, before turning back to her opponents, knowing she could not let this momentary lapse distract her even if she had almost burned Lea to a crisp.
The wolf within rumbled a growl as she narrowed her eyes and focus back on her opponents, grimacing slightly. She would not let that happen again! This next time, her spell would go where she intended it to. Raising her wand, she prepared to cast her next spell.

They were certainly trying to use their advantage, targeting the Slytherin currently preoccupied with a different task. But that was the nature of duelling, Lea having no moral qualms as she focused her aim on the distracted boy. There felt no need to hold onto the spell as she had the round before, but instead called out a quick, “rictusempra.” With no distractions of oncoming spells for the other side, finding that focus was a lot easier this time.
Before she could truly see whether the spell had hit, brown eyes noticed a burst of orange off to her side. A surprised "Oh-" escaped as the hufflepuff quickly scrambled away from its path. She was sure that her late acting would get her hurt- but perhaps not this time. Her clothes did not seem to be on fire and her wand was fine. Good, but certainly too close for comfort.
The apology came soon after. “Great spell. Just- aim that way please.” Her arm extended forward to point at the other end of the stage. It seemed her previous spell had worn off and the wand found, both able to cast spells now- a far more dangerous situation than before.

The caster's wands shot back into action. As if she hadn't missed a beat, Bridget shot another ventus right for Alexa. Meanwhile, Lea aimed a mimblewimble at Bridget. Identical moves to their openers; two strong spells that could be debilitating. But unlike their openers, Bridget hit, and Lea did not.
Both had slung a mediocre spell to send towards their foe - nothing crazy like Alexa's last round, but it would do. The crossing spells made for a pretty display to the fans in the stand, the twinkles filled Lansdale's eyes as he quickly swapped his view from the two parties. Had Bridget seen it coming, or had the last round given her vital time to prepare? She dodged the tongue knot! At the same moment, her wicked wind knocked into Alexa.
But Alexa wasn't fully unprepared, a last minute step left meant only her right side was exposed to the brutal fury. She undoubtedly had gotten off lucky. As Alexa crafted another one of her hot fiery spells, Galton found himself excited to see if she would repeat the same feat from last round. As she twisted her arm about in magical fashion, she spun out an above average spell. It wasn't the same as last round, but it would be hard to replicate such perfection again.
Her aim was better than last round, as she did send it to the other side of the stage. The hot ball of molten magic came close enough to Henry that the boy probably felt the heat for a few seconds. But as quickly as the heat came, it would disappear.
Henry had had his time to brew another symptom of a storm. Fog from the boy's Nebulus rolled onto the Badger's side of the stage, enveloping and enveloping until one could only make out shadows from within. The boy had a thing for weather it seemed. The Badgers were now covered in fog and clouds, the storm gave off a subtle rumble atop their fog covered gaze.

"Nebulus."
Aiming his mayhaw wand for the hufflepuff side, Henry watched as a sheet of fog covered their side to add to the dreary effect that the hufflepuff side had coming off of them.
Taking a side step to avoid Alexa's incendio before sending the girl a quick smile, replacing the smile with a neutral and focus face as he quickly glanced at Bridget watching her own ventus hit.
Cheering on the inside as another duel caught his eye.
Henry wasn't sure if Bridget dodged the spell directed at her by the second year hufflepuff but he figured that she would dodged the spell easily since she's a captain and seemed to have amazing skill.
His blue gaze caught another duel, between the other viper captain and hufflepuff captain except it didn't seem to be a normal duel. Something looked wrong or felt strange.
The teen watched for a moment as he spoke in a whisper so only Bridget could hear him, " something doesn't look good there," the teen squinted his eyes a bit trying to get a clearer view when he noticed the teams; specially the two captains were conversing with each other and his spine tingled a bit almost like something felt wrong about the scene.
Taking a step back, nearly tripping over his own feet the third year brushed a few strands of hair from his eyes and took his stance facing the hufflepuffs.
He had his own duel to worry about and his focus had to remain there as he whispered to his captain and partner,
" I know. I know. Focus on our duel," offering her a slight smile before facing their opponents with a neutral face and focused eyes ready to continue as he watched three strom hang threatening over the head of the hufflepuff team and the sheet of fog enclose the two girls.

"Ventus." Might as well take what she'd said about trying this again literally as casting the Wind Jinx hadn't lost any value. This one didn't veer so far off course, and yet it was hardly the spot-on aim that would make dodging difficult. She was honestly surprised when it did hit Alexa, or at least half of her; had she not been ready to move?
As was typical, she had to transition quickly from her spell to avoiding Lea's. Already having adjusted her stance to be more optimal for quick movements while her tongue was tied, she certainly was ready to dodge, stepping out of the way to the side with relative ease. Another Mimblewimble... there was a pattern here. She was glad to see Henry had managed similarly, not on fire and producing a thick fog. With this and his weather spell earlier, the Hufflepuffs were surrounded, obscured. It would be difficult to make out where exactly they were, but Slytherin still had the advantage of seeing as soon as something emerged from the cover whereas their opponents were in the dark.
She'd been about to offer short encouragement when Henry directed her attention back to Santario's duel. Something didn't look good? Everything had looked fine when she'd glanced over a moment ago, but there lay the issue: it took more than a glancing assessment to pick up on the problem. It took a look at their faces, an ear opened. The first thing off was that there was much to hear at all, for she knew Santario to refrain from verbal engagement. What was more, the snippets she heard sounded nothing at all like mere banter. Her expression slipped into a frown. No, that did not look good. Was that Willow using a swear word? At Santario? It didn't sound like a verbal attack, but what, then?
He said it as though reminding himself to focus, but really, Henry was just as much reminding her. Even if an adjacent duel was turning nasty, getting distracted was no excuse to lose, and staring off to the side was like handing the opponents free shots. And so she bit her lip, unable to quite smooth her features back into neutrality, but did her best to return her focus--blocking out everything outside the platform had never been this hard. She didn't even think to say something to indicate to Henry Lea's spell hadn't hit again. Caught in her thoughts, she made a deal with herself: if she wanted to worry about what was going on elsewhere, she would need to avoid the hospital wing and cast better so as to not let this drag out.

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 3

Alexa had barely prepared her spell when Bridget's hit her. The ferocious blast of wind might've knocked her off her feet had it hit her directly, but she managed to sidestep part of it, having it only blast half of her. Still, she found herself squinting, her eye watering from the wind as she set off her next spell, aiming flames at her boyfriend… It was a duel after all, but part of her mind wondered how she could be so violent against him.
Not that it mattered, again. Though she didn't almost hit her partner this time, the water in her eye kept her from seeing accurately, from aiming accurately, and from her spell landing accurately. And then the worst happened. As if she wasn't having enough problems with accuracy, Henry shouted something she didn't recognize and she watched as, in addition to the thundercloud above them, the Hufflepuff side of the stage was shrouded in fog. She could see nothing! Not her enemies, not even her partner… Hardly even herself! The wolf within her whined uncomfortably… After a great start, this was suddenly not going well. Still, peering as best she could through the fog, she prepared to cast her next spell.

Their main advantage lost, it made sense to act quicker in the hopes to regain some sort of advantage. Chestnut wood was quick to point in Bridget's direction, brown eyes still trying to watch for other flying spells as she cast her own. "Mimblewimble." Perhaps it was this multitasking or unfocused speed that got her in trouble as the Slytherin managed to move out of the way. Alexa wouldn't hit either, the second year wincing as neither connected. But at least that fire hadn't gotten anywhere near Lea this time.
She would watch too late, though, as a gust of wind struck Alexa. Any word of warning died quickly as it was clear the wind had already hit- but the girl wouldn't have enough time to assess how her partner was doing before her eyes were covered in smoke and fog. Brown eyes blinked quickly, attempting to adjust to the new environment with little success. They were truly in a storm now, but thankfully the lightning bolts had yet to smite them from above. "You okay?" Whether or not Alexa was, Lea would prepare for the new challenge of smoke and the next volley of attacks.
