Aaron's own face felt warm when he realized his compliment had made Eun-ji blush. He hadn't anticipated or meant for that to happen, but she had probably spent a lot of time getting ready and appreciated that he had noticed. Maybe he should've gone with a more suiting compliment, like really pretty or beautiful. He had said great on instinct, and he was slightly regretting his lackluster choice of words. Especially when she went on to call his look amazing, which felt like it packed more of a punch than great.

"Thank you," Aaron said in turn, diverting his eyes as well. He looked down at his suit jacket and pulled at the sides of it slightly, as if straightening himself out (even thought there was nothing out of place). His brown eyes landed on the boutonniere pinned to his jacket, and he remembered something important.

"Oh! I have this for you," Aaron said, reaching into the jacket's inner pocket and pulling out a packaged corsage that matched his boutonniere. "You don't have to wear it, but I thought you might like it?" the way he spoke suggested he wasn't completely sure of his own words. He didn't know why he was suddenly feeling nervous about offering her this, but he held it out for her to take. If she didn't want to wear it, he could just put it back in his pocket.

When she asked about the others - namely Jack and Dealla - Aaron felt slight relief at the change of subject. "Me and Jack split up to find you guys - he's looking for Dealla right now. We can meet up with them now that we've found each other," he said, his expression relaxing slightly as he thought about being in a group rather than alone with Eun-ji. That was weird.

A voice nearby alerted Aaron to the presence of a few others lingering by the entrance. Namely, Flash Holmwood had spoken to them. Aaron smiled in greeting and said hello, always glad to see another familiar face. However that smile faltered when he heard the compliment that Flash offered to Eun-ji. Stunning. And he complimented the flowers in her hair. It made Aaron's words from earlier - saying she looked great - seem even more lacking. He looked away from Eun-ji and Flash since she would probably respond to him, and his eyes landed on the blonde girl nearby. Winnie, Flash had called her. And Aaron knew of her because of Jack, though it felt like there was something different about her?

Before he could offer a hello, a redheaded boy appeared in a pink plaid suit. Her date - maybe even her boyfriend - from the way he attempted to hold and kiss her. Aaron averted his eyes from the public display of affection, finally turning back to Eun-ji to see what she wanted to do. Would she want to go find Jack and Dealla? Or maybe continue talking with Flash?
Tl;DR: Aaron processing the compliment from Eun-ji, then remembering to offer the corsage he is in possession of. Greeting Flash, noticing Winnie and Mathias.

Another ball had graced Hogwarts and like always, the castle and it's inhabitants had never failed to impress. From her window in her dorm high up in Gryffindor Tower, the twinkling lights and various decorations remniscent of a mixture of an nice autumn sprinkled in with some Halloween trinkets made for quite the nice-set up. She finished snugly fitting the last flower into the center of her bun doing a few adjustments here and there using the window's reflection to get a better view though the glare of the lights from below certainly was not helping things. To complete the apparel, the Gryffindor was donning a a white and black dress in a checkered fashion, something more bold for her and for once in her life, she had switched out the old-fashioned heels for some pink flowered boots. It would be more easy on the feet and if she was being honest, she didn't even know where those heels had gone as she slipped them on pulling them up as they reached just above her ankle.

The girl had already arranged to meet Lavina down at the ball as she shot a parting glance out the window before leaving. The stream of students wandering towards the festivites was clear from here as she slipped out of the portrait hole, her destination in mind. She wasn't the only one in the corridor, other people were heading in the same direction whether by themselves or with partners. Elena and Lavina had bonded well enough on the train ride and she'd thought it a worthy suggestion to ask the girl if she'd like to pair up with her for the ball and her friend had more than happily agreed to the proposal. She burst out onto the grounds having left the interior of the castle behind as she joined the crowd of kids all carving a path towards the decorations that were advertising the ball.

She cast an wary eye at some of the pumpkin lanterns and their expressions. Well, as long as they didn't start talking or something, the Gryffindor reckoned it would be quite alright as she soon found herself immersed deep within the festival which was already slowly filling with people, as her head began scanning. She would give it some time as people were just beginning to filter in picking up the sides of her dress as she moved avoiding any stray grass or dirt that might find itself on her clothes. It would certainly stand out on the white, perhaps she should have taken that into account when settling on a color as people brushed past her, some more aggresively than others as she stood off to a side waiting for her friend before she got too involved with the ball searching for other familiar faces as well if they were present there.

Thankfully it did not take long before a familiar face greeted Winnie. Her features lit up upon the sight of her book friend, Flash. "Hi Flash!" She raised a hand in greeting, her eyes flickering over his attire. It was casual, but he still looked quite snazzy. Unsurprising really, given his usual taste in fashion. "You look nice, very cozy. I like your cardigan! Are you planning on partaking in any of the activities?" She asked with a small smile. She did not notice his eyes. Why? Because she had remet Flash after his left eye had been replaced. Eyes were often the first thing the Ravenclaw noticed about people, what hues were swirled within those sparkling orbs and, more specifically, what the muses would whisper to her about them. She knew Flash had one blue eye, it was quite striking really, a colour that could tell tales of the warm tropic ocean. She also knew his left eye was brown. A colour that Winnie would have related to the strong oak trees that populated forests. She definitely noticed the mixture of the two elements upon remeeting the boy.

"I might try out some but I'm waiting fo--!!" Speak of the devil. She cut herself off when a pair of arms wrapped around her. Her body jolted a bit, startled as she had not noticed her boyfriend prior. "Oh... Mattie!" She breathed a sigh of relief at the sound of his voice. She had been on alert, hoping to avoid Levi Drakos should the Gryffindor make an appearance. She peeked up at the Slytherin, a large smile gracing her features. The sight of him warmed her heart and her body relaxed under his hold. "You look so handsome. That's such a nice colour on you..." Her fingers slid over the fabric of his jacket, admiring the pink tone. Yes, she was a simple girl, easy to please. In her mind, Mathias had worn pink because had taken note of her favourite colour and had worn it to match her.

"Do you like my hair?" She asked him. He hadn't commented on it yet-- such a man. "I also have a gift for you-- Whoa..." Mathias' tightened hold on her was not painful, but it was noticeable. The only time he had held her this tight was when she had cried at her birthday party. She would not notice that discomfort was aimed towards Flash, instead, her eyes would quickly scan the grounds for the face of Levi Drakos, her guard dog mode activated.

She didn't see any trace of the fruit-loving Gryffindor, but if Matt had, she would rather relocate. "We could go elsewhere. Where do you want to go? There's matchmaking, eels, or radishes? Or we can go into the tent and dance."

Ah…so you are not good with compliments either. Eun-ji barely stopped herself from chuckling. It was not that she wanted to mock him; she was just relieved she wasn’t the only one to struggle with them. It actually made her feel even more at ease around Aaron, which was nice. Thankfully, she somehow managed to keep a straight face in the end, simply giving him a nod and a smile when he thanked her.

"Oh! I have this for you." The witch blinked in surprised as she watched her friend reach into his pocket. Oh no…was she supposed to bring something? No, no she wasn’t. She knew she wasn’t but she tended to overthink everything. A corsage? Eun-ji had seen those before in movies but she never got to wear one herself. “It’s beautiful…Of course I’ll wear it,” she said with a bright smile on her face. I could dry it and keep it as a memento too. “…Thank you,” she added while putting the corsage on her wrist. Her grandmother would hate it, which made it even more appealing. “I’ve never worn one before.” The Ravenclaw admitted to her company, admiring it for the last time before a familiar voice reached her ears.

“Flash! Hello to you too!” Eun-ji greeted the boy as she bashfully tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. A nervous gesture after receiving yet another compliment. She just couldn’t catch a break today could she? Not that she wasn’t grateful of course. It was always lovely to hear one, she just never quite knew where to go from there. “Thank you…though I’m somewhat jealous of you to be honest. That cardigan looks extremely comfortable,” the witch said with a soft smile. Like she already told the boy, she only ever gave credit where credit was due and empty compliments weren’t really her thing so she would not praise his outfit today. He was a handsome young man but it was obvious that he wasn’t trying to dress up for the event. Eun-ji honestly didn’t mind and she did envy him a bit. She used to have similar cardigan and she loved it to bits but thanks to Mrs. Hunt, it was now gone…like the rest of her comfortable clothes. “I love your outfit Winnie. It’s adorable,” she also addressed her fellow Ravenclaw. They weren’t friends but they shared the dorm so they bumped into each other often. It wouldn't be polite to ignore her.

Soon however a new face swooped in. Mattie, Winnie had called him and he proceeded to make most of the involved very uncomfortable. Eun-ji side eyed Aaron who also couldn’t help but avert his gaze somewhere else. Clearing her throat, she looked at Flash with somewhat apologetic smile. “It was really lovely to see you but we have to find the rest of our friends,” she explained their situation. It was true after all. “I do hope you’ll enjoy your evening…and I’ll see you in Divination or perhaps later somewhere around here?” She asked hopefully before turning back to her date. While she was happy to bump into her saviour, Aaron was her priority this evening for sure. She didn’t want to make him wait. They came here together and were indeed supposed to be looking for Dealla and Jack about now.

Pretty in pink, Marion arrived perfectly on time. Alexander had been derelict in his duties as a potential paramour, having heard little of or from him, she would arrive to this ball alone. There were reasons for her intrusion, in spite animosity derived from her previous deplorable acts on Flash which were likely relayed to his allies over the past almost 2 months. She should be wearing battle armor and running shoes, but instead she was wearing a flirty pink dress. Maron understood her assets well enough, she knew that she looked good in pink. So a floor-length, flowy dress with a plaid-like design on the skirt in silver and a pair of unseen pink suede heels with a metal stiletto. She was here to cause a bit of chaos, but first she needed to survey the scene.

Flash Holmwood - check. He was in the midst of discussing matters with a a very short blonde, an Asian girl and Pride. Good to know.

Her eyes would dart about the dance floor as she attempted to assess the part-goers. Giddeon was in loud pursuit of some girl clad in yellow. Poor dear, Giddeon is... well unique. A fun diversion really.

Neither were her target for the evening of course, she had not eyed them yet in fact so she would wander about the party taking in the scene, the scents and their behaviors. It was like perusing the bakery in a supermarket.
Action: None as of yet. Making her presence known.

Note: Unless Alexander says otherwise, she is dateless.

Honestly, he did not notice that Winnie was now a blonde. The fact that he was gazing into Flash's mismatched eyes and had not noticed his girlfriend's hair was an issue for their couples therapist at a later date. Admittedly he did not know that the brown eye was a replacement, he just knew that it did not belong and his suspicious nature took over. "Anywhere you want," he replied to Winnie. The sooner the better he determined. His first thought was a replaced man rather than eye -- a metamorphmagus, an erroneous preparation of polyjuice or some other manipulation (such as a doll) that resulted in a false Flash.

In fact, he should throw someone down to prevent the doppelganger's pursuit. There was the girl, the little Asian chick he did not know the name of. Well, better he did not know, when you name victims it adds a level of intimacy. She was making small talk with Winnie, "the matchmaking" he announced boldly. Probably her favorite of the options and the easiest to derive compliance. While Flash might have had two different colored eyes for the last few weeks, Flash was no friend of his so in truth he simply did not notice the mismatched eyes until just now but having spent the year previous the two different colored eyes would have been an obvious trait he would not have missed for the past year.

He pondered briefly acknowledging the oddity in Flash's appearance to rile whatever was truly before them but (as Flash's interactions are closed) chose to keep quiet. Consider it an act of cowardice. "We should find out what the matchmaker has to say about us," what was what the matchmaker was supposed to do right? Tell them how great the two of them were even if they were not. Well, even if there was some sort of power behind the matchmaking, a statement of truth that he was a bad choice, he would deal with that later.
Notes: Understood that Flash is closed to interaction.

"How did they manage this?" Was Cade's first thought of the evening as his intense brown eyes flitted across the grounds. Or what he supposed were the grounds. It now resembled some type of flower forest. And Cade half expected to see some live fairies hovering like gnats around the toadstools. But the change was rather exciting to his eyes, and he wasn't alone in gawking at the new scenery. A few other students sidled right beside him wide-eyed and keen to explore. But that wasn't what the young Ravenclaw wizard had set in store for the evening. And reminded of the fact, Cade would make his way through the groups of people and peculiar throngs of new foliage.

Cade was attending the ball alone. No surprise there, for Cade was far too into his studies to notice there was an event coming up, much less ask any of his friends to accompany him. But this didn't discourage the Ravenclaw, he knew he'd see familiar faces there. And he would stop to say hello to the people he knew. Cade wasn't planning to stay for very long. He'd expect after an hour or two he'd go back to the castle and explore the darkened corridors while everyone was out on the grounds. Perhaps he'd even get some sketches done. He had indeed brought his sketchbook with him. As if he'd ever be inclined to be parted from it.

Cade was wearing semi-formal dress. A black turtleneck with white suspenders holding up his dark chino trousers. Over his face was a barn owl mask, one he had fashioned over the summer with Halloween in mind. It took him ages to dig it out from the bottom of his trunk. He was only glad he remembered to wear it.

Finally coming upon a clear spot, Cade would notice the large tent over on the Quidditch pitch. He vaguely could recall the summons upon the fliers in the corridors. So this is where the event would take place? Cade would pull up his mask to rest on his forehead as he regarded the scene. Tons of students were on their way over. And he would be sure to follow.

Jürgen Hess was coming to this ball with a rather lovely date, Tyranni Whitethorn. Yes, her given name was a bit concerning. "Tyranny" was a bit ominous but Merlin if anyone knew his family, that would hardly serve as a red flag. He knew he was supposed to wear something 'harvest'-like but there was still the matter of Erin Ryan to contend with. Dressing like a lumberjack was not on the docket, it would show blood too easily so she would have to forgive him for picking something darker.

He wore a long, dark, high-collared trench that reached almost his ankles. A simple grey button down shirt and black leather pants, one might think he was a stand out but it seemed other students missed the memo also. One even came wearing a mask. Hess wore a bit of a mask of his own, a pair of eyeglasses he really did not need. It was a habit he acquired yeas ago to make himself appear a bit less threatening.

He would look around, it would appear that he arrived before his date. He would wait for her here unless a diversionary activity drew his attention elsewhere. He fiddled with a small box, it held his date's corsage as well as an additional trinket of apology, it was unfortunate that his mind would be divided on this evening.

Winnie acknowledge her fellow Ravenclaw with a smile. With Matt still wrapped around her, it was difficult to do anything but wave. "Thank you so much! I love yours, and your hair looks lovely with those flowers. I know the theme is Autumn, but there are some lovely wildflowers that still bloom along the school property. I grabbed a few for my hair." Yes she likely smelled of wildflowers and her usual strawberry-scented shampoo and lotion, although she had been getting oddly low on her beauty supplies lately for some reason (looking at you, Juniper).

She was going to continue talking the poor girl's ear off when Mathias suddenly made a suggestion. He wanted to visit the matchmaker?! Her face burned a darker shade of pink at the mere mention of the tent. "R-Really? You want to go there?" She would try to turn in his hold if it had loosened. From the way her eyes lit up, it was obvious she was excited. "Yes! We should... Do t-that. I would like that."

Excited to hear about their fate and how it definitely included marriage and a few mini-Matts running around, Winnie turned to wave towards her conversational partners."See you guys later, it was nice chatting!" She would try to reach down and intertwine her fingers with Matt's own. If he accepted her hand, she would guide him towards the tent. If he didn't, she would still rush towards the rather eerie-looking tent.

The boy who died, Victor Moore would arrive at the ball possible underdressed. He wore a simple dark jacket and common tie in a similar dark navy color. A plain white button down shirt. A black leather belt and pleated black dress pants. In a semi-formal setting, Victor would appear to be right at home but his attire actually made him perhaps a stand out as he failed to dress to theme, decided to be costumed or decided to grossly under or overdressed.

He had come alone but he was looking for someone. He would see Mary standing alone, dressed in pink and he could not help but stare. Always lovely to look at, she was like a piece of favored art but not who he wanted to stare at this entire evening. No, he was looking for someone else. his very pale eyes would scan the gathering and he would not see her. The girl he sought had not yet arrived. It was likely she would arrive on the arm of someone else that failed to appreciate her. That was how these things always were. A bloody pity really, that boy's loss was about to be Victor's gain. He would play with a box in his pants pocket idly and shift the flowers and chocolates he had also brought with him. Yes, he came apparently prepared to be with someone, the problem was that someone did not know that they had a (possibly second) date.

His bouquet was rather brightly colored as was the corsage he kept safe in a small box. His toes would tap against the ground as he simply looked back and forth and awaited her arrival.
