Happy Birthday, Winnie Harper
It was a knee-jerk reaction, the way that Winnie pushed back from @Mathias Pride when his tone of voice changed. A growl. He had growled in her ear. She had never heard him speak like that before and the shock alone had stopped the flow of tears. "Mattie, I..." One might assume that Matt was growing tired of her crying, and they might have been correct, but there was something else there, an advice of sorts. Toughen up so they can't hurt you. There was a change in her face, a flush rising to the surface of her cheeks.
He was right. Most of them didn't care.
Why should she continue to allow people to tug her along by the strings of her heart if they weren't willing to do the same for her? She had wasted so much energy. On what? Caring? Who did she actually have in this world? San, who was starting to care. Aurora, who meant well but still wanted to rip her away from the arms of the person who cared most about her; Mathias. She didn't even mind this new version of him, this offering of tough love. It was almost... Attractive in a way. She would take it and cradle it close to her heart. It was just another gift he had given her.
Her eyes narrowed into a look of determination, and she gave him a nod. "Thank you." She would lean in and to try and plant a kiss to his cheek (feel free to say he either dodged or accepted it) before withdrawing from the warmth of his arms.
"Okay, the party is over!" Winnie would roughly wipe her eyes with the back of her hand before storming over to the pile of gifts. Whatever items could be compiled into one bag would be shoved away, a hand even reached up to unclasp the necklace hanging from around her neck. She tossed it into one of the bags as if it were a 25 cent plastic piece from an old candy machine instead of a necklace worth more than the car her mother drove.
"Thank you for your attendance and the gifts, but I have a bit of a sour taste in my mouth and would like to retire for the evening." She turned her attention to @Cody Stevenson, as her hand swiped her wand from where she had left it on the table. "And, as for you..." She gestured towards the boy. "I've been such a bad host. Since you didn't like my cupcakes, you can have this; Flipendo!"Cody would feel as if he were given a shift knock to his gut when Winnie's spell hit him. He would stumble backwards a bit, but it would not send him flying (unless you would like to ignore the usual crit rule and RP him flying backwards, up to you). "Now then, I'm leaving before you try and bore me with another one of your monologues about how you were the villain of the sandbox back in PreK." But not before she gathered up the gifts she had received. She would try to leave the Great Hall with the bundles in her arms--.Winnie Flipendos Cody:

Happy Birthday, Winnie Harper
I'm not Juniper, I don't agree with everything she says and does.Juniper allowed Cody to grab her hand and pull her along. She was disappointed her kick did not hit, and it embarrassed her. What was going on today? She bit her lip as the birthday scolded her. "Humph!" She said, pouting. She was being targeted, that's what this was. The tall people thought they could push her around. "Why is everyone being so mean? It was just a cupcake! And it didn't even hit him!" She cried, anrgily. "It's not fair! You don't seem mad at anyone else, not even whoever did that to that kid crying on the ground! All I did was toss a treat, Which, by the way, are actually very good! But still, the treat hit the ground." She threw up her hands.
Then someone entered and yelled something. She wasn't paying attention, she was piecing the puzzle together. She eyed the scar, then then the voice, then, finally, she looked at his fists. She gasped and steered out of the boy's sight, and she jabbed Cody in the ribs with her finger. "See that boy? Don't go near him." Then she frowned, realizing the scene before her.
Someone was insulting Cody. Rude! "HEY! Stop beeing mean, you.. you..
meany! He's not a bug, he's a boy! And he's not poo, either!" She said, desperately trying to defend her best friend. "Stop! Leave him alone! It's not his fault he believes that the cupcakes are stale! As for throwing it away, he took a bite from it! And didn't like it! What was he supposed to do, put it back? You're disgusting. This is my bestest friend ever, and he's actually really awesome!" She spun on her heel.
She turned around. "I really like your hair!" She said, but she said it with a tone one would use when scolding since she was supposed to be angry with the girl.
"C'mon, Cody, let's go." Then she grabbed his hand and attempted to walk away when yet again, someone charged at her friend. The birthday girl. Juniper gasped as Cody stumbled, and she attempted to grab him so he didn't fall. She glared at the girl. "Oh my goodness, please just stop! We're sorry, okay? We were leaving, you didn't have to do that! Just because he doesn't like something doesn't mean you attack him for it! All he did was toss a treat, but your boyfriend shoved a cupcake from the floor into that girl's mouth and you're okay with that? I don't know why you hate my friend, but it's not fair that you attacked him with spells for that little thing." She held back her angry tears. "I think you're biased, and you think your boyfriend is precious no matter what he does. Anyone you don't know, you accuse of everything. It's not fair, and it's mean. And you act like we forcefully came here when you said no, but you invited everyone and anyone." She held her chin up and she turned away to leave.
"GOODBYE! And also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, but STILL!"

“I’ll be there.”
Her only response left for Vladimir was simple before she was pulled back into the room by Percival. A hand was run through her hair as Mathias agreed to detention with Percival. It was fine by her. She had no intention of being alone in a room with Mathias if she could help it. She observed as Mathias hugged Winnie, and she cried into him. What she didn’t expect was Winnie to push away from him like she did, and her eyes narrowed.
An announcement that the party was over, well that was good maybe her and Percival could actually have a conversation about whatever he said he kept wanting to ask her. Maybe he had found something new concerning the ever-growing problem around Hogwarts. Then, however, Winnie turned her gaze on Cody, and San recognized the look in her eyes, and before San could make a move, the brilliant blaze of a Flipendo slammed into the smaller boy. “HARPER! Get your gifts and follow me immediately.” There was no room left for negotiation in her voice. Birthday or not, Winnie had crossed a line, and now she was going to serve a detention.
Santario looked up at Percival with a tightlipped smile accompanied by a gentle squeeze of his forearm. “Is dóigh liom go bhfuilim á rá seo i gcónaí, ach labhróidh muid níos déanaí. Bí ag faire ar do chúl.”* Would later ever come? Every time they needed to tell each other something, it took a small miracle to make it happen. She would wait for Winnie to gather her things before leading her swiftly out of the great hall.
I feel like I am always saying this, but we will talk later. Watch your back.*

Happy Birthday, Winnie Harper
How dare everyone dodge him? It was horrendous. He was bound to be known in the school. Recognition was all he desired. That was one of the reasons as to why he stormed into the room, throwing a stale cupcake without using his brain.
His brain was so determined to do something just to get attention. With a bloodcurdling scream, he slowly slunk back to Winnie, looking like he was going to force an apology. Of course, the boy was very mischievous, but he knew when to apologize, no matter how much he despised it.
"Listen, um, Winnie, can I call you that after what happened? Um, regardless, I'd like to say I'm sorry for being mean, or well, snarky, but, um, I am truly sorry for making a scene, or rather, based on my observation, part of one. I'm sorry for calling your cupcakes stale, even though they were made last night. I don't apologize however, for attempting to poke your alleged boyfriend (Mattias) with my wand. Believe it or not, but everyone has possibilities and well, I am not seeing how he does much besides scare me. PLEASE TELL ME YOU AREN'T DATING HIM JUST TO SCARE PEOPLE!" Cody finished, ending with a yell of startling realization. It was horrifying to think that, and hopefully, Harper wasn't mean like that. Oh he was dead wrong.
Even though he ruined a birthday party. The birthday girl drew her wand and cast a spell that seemed to jab at him, forcing him to fly back. He screamed, but landed in Juniper's arms, hearing everything Juniper said, only adding in several words. "EXCUSE ME? I APOLOGIZED! BY DOING THAT YOU ARE PROVING YOUR POINT, BUT ALSO PROVING MINE FIVE TIMES OVER! I APOLOGIZED!" The boy screamed, oh it sounded like he was bellowing into everyone's ears, the echoing reverberating across the room. "Yes Juniper. Lets go. No one wants us around here anyways as it seems." Cody scoffed, turning his nose up. "And by the way, I was never in preschool. I never had a sandbox. So there." He knew that was a lame attempt at jabbing Winnie, but it was an attempt after all. And all he wanted to do was make the birthday girl feel better.
By now, he watched Winnie leave the room with San for her detention. He heaved a sigh, happy that he didn't get detention with Juniper. Truly, that would've been a nightmare, and perhaps a little embarrassing, but it was bound to be intriguing. He proceeds to leave the Great Hall with Juniper Kelly.

Happy Birthday, Winnie Harper

The screaming never really stopped, like energy it was merely transformed. From pain to indignation to sorrow to rage. He knew her rage well, he recalled her reckless passion the evening that they first met. The evening that her face came to mind when he needed to choose a muggle. Indeed, he needed her for more than simple companionship, a more morally agreeable option in lieu of a house elf. He needed an example, a young muggle woman to show his willingness to attach outside his limited orbit. That the problem was not, nor was it ever him and his way of life. It was always them and what was not rightfully theirs. A muggle had no place in the wizarding world. It did not matter if it was an act of love that led to a union, they would never belong. Anything he felt, might have been starting to feel was a painful consequence of futility, of her infectious presence. He would endeavor and he would endure.
The ache was dull, hardly even there. He only noticed it now because of how quiet it was in his head when she cried. Yes there were shouts, people trying to take charge. People who really did not give a shit about her but decided to attend her party anyways. He only heard Winnie and he wanted it to stop.
Just stop.
Don't let them see.
Nobody ever has to know how you truly feel if you do not tell them.
They can't win if they think you love it. If they think you don't care. They can't win if you're always thinking, always waiting and you keep trying to win. Keep trying to break them. Nobody is indestructible, but they do not need to know that you're no exception.
When he relinquished his grip on the sobbing girl who had become far too attached too soon, she became mad. A familiar scene truly. A remnant of the girl he recalled from from the Blossom Ball. He wondered which was the lie. He thought perhaps the former. Good he could only hope. She would tell the party-goers off, demand her 'stuff' and announce her intended departure.
Again, good girl.
Take control. Never let go. If you do and you trust someone else in the reigns, everything will go to hell. There is no choice, you are either the master of the slave. He would find Percival among the masses, his jailer. He would attempt to hook elbows with the troubled Prefect. "Good girl aint she. She is awful cute when mad..." If their arms were linked Mathias would beckon Gray to move on, to leave. "Looking forward to our private time," he announced. Impending detention was it?

Happy Birthday, Winnie Harper
It seemed that the two little shits took issue with Nicholas’s threat, the female gremlin stormed toward him and attempted to kick him in the shin. The attack was telegraphed, and the taller boy had zero difficulty in stepping out the way of the would-be blow. God dammit, her voice was annoying. Somehow her screeches beat out those of the male gremlin in sheer ear-splitting agony. Nicholas could barely keep up with their antics as they spiralled through the great hall.
“Jesus fuckin’ christ,” The blasphemous swear escaped his mouth as he watched them, his posture visibly relaxing when they left the event.
Leia, the girl who he had once seen shrug off a maiming commended him for his outburst, and he found himself swelling with pride. Her follow up suggestion, however, left him somewhat shocked and taken aback.
“Uh,” He shot a sidelong glance to the prefects, “Pretty sure any more spells go flying and we’ll see a war break out.” He offered a non-committal shrug.
Besides, he hardly cared about most of the people at the party, the very obvious exception required a majority of his attention.
Nicholas had knocked the cupcake out of Pride’s hand, the small bit of pride at his successful attack immediately marred by the redhead’s reaction. Before the Northern Irish boy could think, let alone react, the English lad had pushed the remainder of the wrapper into his hands, and so swiftly declared that it had been Nicholas, not he, who had been feeding her the treat. The brunette would have questioned what his gambit was, had he the mental capacity to even process what was occurring. All of his thoughts had been funnelled toward anger, and that left very little room for anything else. Especially when his thoughts were confused by a feeling he desperately chose not to acknowledge as the pastel girl responded to his intense look.
He shot his eyes away, “S’fine,” the words a barely audible mumble.
She was fine, now, no longer blindfolded. Moreover, her anger had been so-aptly directed toward Pride, the boy who had been feeding her like royalty. Nicholas didn’t want to think about how that made him feel. He let the cupcake wrapper fall to the ground without ceremony, daring not to think about what it meant. Why had Pride tried to set him up as acting romantically toward Ranvier, was he just trying to piss the pair of them off further? It was clear as day that the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw loathed each other, was it not?
That train of thought was cut off by the sudden bellowing from another prefect, one that Nicholas hadn’t bothered to cast a second glance. A reasonable thing to do, he thought, considering the utter chaos that was unfolding around him. Anger and confusion faded for long enough for him to finally understand exactly what was occurring around him. Interpersonal drama that he wanted no part of, he’d made his presence known, and had achieved quite possibly none of his objectives. Hell, he’d probably made himself appear soft.
“Why would I help?” He asked Aurora, as she requested assistance with the presents, the bitter retort all he could manage considering his present state of mental dishevelment, “Why would I help you?” He said, more for himself than anyone else. Anger was so much easier to understand.
Regardless of whatever his interaction with Ranvier had meant, it seemed that the bulk of the issues had been sorted out. The prefects finally acting as if they had earned their badges and bringing the party to order, handing out detentions as they did so.
“That’ll be my cue,” Nicholas said loudly, with forced chirpiness, “Lovely to properly meet you all.”
God, he sounded like an absolute wanker.
Daring not to look at anyone further, Nicholas McCowan would approach the table. Grab two cupcakes to each hand and make his way out of the great hall.

Happy Birthday, Winnie Harper
He supposed it wasn’t a party until someone got pepper sprayed.
Regrettably, that someone had to be him. Once that silver chain cradled Winnie’s pale neck, the gem perfectly highlighting her crystal eyes, the sleeping serpent within Percematt awoke. There was no time for a seamlessly constructed scheme, to tear his life from its cracked foundation or disrupt and hurl his plans into an oblivion of shadowy hatred, but there was time to use every bit of his strength in a never-before-seen physical attack. Aurora provided the pepper spray, of that there was no doubt, something they’d need to discuss later to ensure she didn’t thrive on the way he thrashed on the freezing floor, hands instinctively covering his eyes to protect them from damage already done. The once white part of his gaze was shaded a fiery scarlet, though, and a steel shield couldn't defend from an open wound and gushing blood.
A soft voice graced his ears, dovelike but firm in her demands that could barely be made out over the roaring wave of blood rushing to his head to fend off the pain. It lapped at the shores, the writhing current in the midst of a storm, as it could only be lightning that had stricken his eyes to send such an electric shock whisking through them and draining into his nose and throat. The electricity seethed and threatened, running in wires inside his head, until he opened his eyelids to the crimson, ardent fog only to be stunned by glacial water meeting the burn. The silhouette in his cloudy glare was the astral girl—Willow—offering her services in touching his face with ethereal skin. When she told him to blink it was the cadence of a siren singing him to the edge of the storm, and he did so without a hint of hesitation, gasps of torment still looming between each breath because merlin, he was dying.
Levi couldn’t differentiate between the tears streaming down his face and the remnants of that water jug she’d just poured over him, but perhaps that was for the best, as it was doubtful anyone else could either. This worked in his favor; today, he was the victim instead of the accused assailant, and villainy was seen in Percematt’s actions without Levi dropping to his knees to beg them to peer through his thin veil of faux benevolence. Had the pain not still been driving him, reducing him to but a sobbing worm, he might’ve been able to laugh between the agonized howls, an unreasonable, merciless cackle in a situation with not a bit of hilarity to someone who wasn’t him, or Percematt.
“Scourgify.”
In this dazed state, Levi’s shirt was not on the forefront of his mind, so good on Willow for thinking ahead. A fair few heartbeats passed between them, however, where he feared she was to drench his eyes in soapy bubbles and a defensive fight brewed within the boy, met by her hands interweaving with his own and holding them down. She went on to explain this gesture, her melodic reminder to blink, lulling him to weaken and cease his instinctive fight to rub his face with the only vocal confirmation of understanding being a bruised groan. The brunet blinked hard, legs still kicking into nothingness to exert the energy without emptying his lungs into the Great Hall to Percematt’s heart’s content.
Outside of his bubble, chaos was claiming Winnie’s birthday as its own. The boy couldn’t look over, sight hindered by a thin red curtain of pepper spray and immense suffering, but there were overlapping arguments and clashes that told him enough of how the party was resuming as its life and core flailed on the ground like a fish out of the sea. Something had been made into a projectile, met by a flurry of complaints and protests from the party guests. Another voice rang through, mousy and borderline comedic, rambling about something Levi couldn’t quite identify. The words stale, cupcake, and dangerous stuck out to him amid the busy mess, and another moment passed where if he wasn’t a tearful flaming mess, he might’ve needed to stifle a laugh. But, nonetheless, he was dying and the world was still absorbed in narcissism and theatrical melodrama oh, the irony. He was dying and this kid was monologuing about cupcakes. I’m DYING and this kid is MONOLOGUING about cupcakes.
“IS HE DYING?!” Why yes, thank you for noticing.
The only relief didn’t come with water drowning his corneas, rather the sugary, nurturing tone of the girl who assured him the afterlife would be just as mystical as her own aura. It would be okay, because she said so, but it wasn’t a promise of his vision being restored and the blaze in his throat being extinguished, merely a promise that mercy would take over when their hands parted ways. What theatrics would there be, if no cord was yanked from the wall, if no one shed a tear not brought on by the spritz of gasoline in his eyes followed by a match? Santario’s serrated voice cut through Willow’s, rendering it shattered glass with that sharp, distinct edge, leaving a custom scar. It was refreshing to get the opportunity to delude himself into believing she cared.
Just as Santario chimed in, blowing his cover as a different short brunet with intriguing tendencies, another shadow dropped to their knees beside him at precisely the right time to hear another frantic heave for air laced with killers. Infirmary, the second soothing voice whispered against his current of bubbling pain, followed by an assurance that the powerful pair would be able to escort him there themselves. Levi was half-sitting up before the last of the words fell from her tongue, ceasing an opportunity not only in the realm of being shallow but because the sting was lessened by that now empty jug for a finite period. “Please, make it stop,” He’d beg, something he’d been slurring through gritted teeth for the past several moments.
Another absurdly audacious outburst stole the second girl’s attention, a flash of red not native to his dusky vision whirling around. It was no time to resurrect chivalry and compare thee to a summer's day but that copper shine couldn't help but remind him of something. The boy wasn’t quite sure what occurred, still twitching every other second and barely resisting the urge to tear away and grab at his face, but the girl's voice was hardened by it, strict and orotund. When her heed came back to him and his low pleads, she compelled him to stand alongside Willow, and his shaky limbs raised with a repressed curse underneath his hitched breath. Winnie had been crying, her soothing sound now brittle and fading out. He’d been crying. And he was leaving with two girls and an injury to dangle over Percematt’s reputation.
Overall, hell of a party.

TL;DR
Levi, in his dramatic pain, mentally criticizes others for being dramatic because clearly only he can do that. He attempts to leave alongside Evelynn and Willow toward the Hospital Wing.

“What?” So he didn’t want to help Winnie. No, not Winnie. It was her. “I-“ If only someone else other than him said that, it would only irritate her but not enough to make a dent on the water. Even Aurora, the girl with a thousand comebacks was lost for words. Don’t cry, you can do better than this. There was no way she would let a boy who appeared as if he just woke up from a long nap and did not bother to shower nor change his clothes be the reason to feel so small. Almost thought she took one step forward but it turned out she kept going backward each day. Words hurt. Surely, he could have said it differently, in a less harsh way. But he chose otherwise. Unlike Winnie who has her prince on the white horse, she had to get right back on her feet by herself while the sight of Nicholas’ walked out nonchalantly just pouring salt on her open cuts. Hope he’ll choke on those cupcakes, but please don’t die.
Everything else was a blur. People were slowly dispersed from the chaos, including the tear soaked birthday girl. What was that Santa’s problem? The only person who deserved detention more than anyone was that icky blonde bed bug. He was the main cause of everything, and yet, Winnie was the one to blame? Unfair. Every fiber on her body wanted to destroy that barbaric kid, but the exhaustion suddenly kicked in. Her next plan was to sleep through the day, and maybe forget that stupid Gryffindor being an ultimate jerk. Well, today was something else. Better pick up the gifts and bring them to the Ravenclaw tower. This was not the best time to weep and complain. Aurora put her feelings aside for a bit, and proceeded to walk over to the pile of the red head’s birthday presents. A promise is a promise, no matter how small it is. At this point, there was not much she could do to cheer her friend up, especially when she wasn’t doing good herself. “It’s okay Winnie! I’ll take care of your presents! No need to worry about that!”
Sighed in defeat, the amount of presents Winnie got was overwhelming. She bit her lip, a tad of envy peeked through followed by guilt for ever feeling that way. A kind hearted strawberry lover, she’s a friend, right? Does she consider me as a friend? Maybe Aurora needed that star jar for herself as well, as a reminder of her worth. But at the end of the day, it must be nice to have someone who cares on your side. Perhaps that Matt was not so bad for Winnie afterall.
