The Fall Ball posters had finally been pinned to the Bulletin Board, and when Violet saw that the event had finally been announced, she quickly ran to the owlery to deliver a letter to whom she wanted to ask out to the ball. Out of All the Boys...
It was back to the normal grind at Durmstrang and Felix had, admittedly, been missing the few friends he had made over the summer at Hogwarts. He had exchanged a few letters, but a certain one from Violet Carrington had been... Unexpected.
Holy shit. It was a poem. His features churned as he cringed. Admittedly, Felix was aware of the Slytherin's feelings for him. He wasn't an idiot; he had seen the gift she had given him for his birthday. It was nice leather jacket, one he had 'fixed' by carefully removing every single damn gemstone she had customized it with. Violet was a nice girl, or she had been to him, so he might have said yes to her request for the hell of it or for an excuse to attend the ball, but he had another girl in mind, however, and he had already drafted about ten letters attempting to ask her.
Upon realizing this meant he would have to send Violet a letter saying 'no', the Swede sighed and slumped back into the wingback chair he had been sitting in. "Shit..." He grumbled under his breath. He grabbed a notepad and quill and started to write a quick reply.

Thank you for your invitation to the fall ball at Hogwarts and your poem. I'm not the kind of guy who is good with flowery words poems, so I can't return the favour, but I thought I'd at least write you back.
I can't go with you, I'm sorry. I'm sure you look nice in a dress and all, but I already have sent a letter asking someone else. I'm sure we'll see each other there and shit, though. Feel free to write back if you want.
