Chess Combat (Match 2)
[font=century gothic]Interacting with the Viridian Vipers
English • #2E8B57 | Welsh • #0080BF | French • #804080
By the next round, Sarah wasn’t certain hope exactly the boy her team had been targeting was still conscious, let alone able to stand and continue in the battle. Apparently near unconsciousness wasn’t enough to take yourself out of this chess tournament and the young Slytherin couldn’t decide how she felt about that fact. A small part of her was already beginning to question the adults who were supervising and whether they were making the best decisions by allowing the white haired boy to continue.
Still, it wasn’t as though it was up to Sarah. And her team could only benefit from one of the opposition going unconscious. And with that thought she braced herself and prepared for the next move.Doing as strategized

Another flurry of spells shot about and Ana did her best to make note of everything. Adonis attempted to set the foreign queen aflame but was unsuccessful. Sarah would conjure her spell, but as had happened earlier in the match, would feel a chill run down her spine, causing her spell to shoot in the direction of the spectators, fortunately fizzling out before it landed. Dmitri, the benevolent monarch that he was, cast a rather nice healing spell upon Adonis and Violet, hopefully causing each of them to feel a bit better than they did moments before. Violet went after Felix once more but did not land her attack. Astrea did manage to set Felix on fire.
Henrietta's eyes would glaze over once more and Ana wondered if she was allowed to get the girl's attention. She decided against it since theoretically, she was impartial, but she was worried for the girl, as the situation wasn't exactly the safest. Maksim cast a rather spectacular Ventus at Astrea, which would likely cause problems for the next few minutes. Both queens were feeling generous, it seemed, with Irina healing Felix just after Astrea's spell made contact. Amaury decided against a spell and instead moved to what was hopefully a more advantageous position. Felix attempted to set Dmitri on fire but was unsuccessful. Likely related to the fact that he was in fact now on fire, or the fog around him.
"Truly, I cannot say yet," Ana told Alan @Alan Vanes. "School pride obligates me to hope for Slytherin, but the foreign team is holding up fairly well. I suppose we'll have to wait and see."

Irina was about to attempt the same spell on a different teammate. This blonde haired dude looked like he needed it more than the other girl(Henrietta) she had tried it on. Before though, she had cast the spell terribly wrong and caused harm to her teammate but that wasn’t happening again. This time she took more time to correct her position and the spell worked. Already, she could see improvements in her teammate’s health and was ready to cast another spell while she was back in the grove.

Another miss, Violet was starting to get mad and doubt her potential as a duellist. She was glad to see that Felix had finally been taken out of the game due to his fainting, and she would smirk when she saw him leave the chess combat. Finally somebdoy out of the game. Her eyes focused on whatever she was going to do next, and she was determined not to fail this time.As Strategized

The difference in power even Dmitri alone possesses as compared to the opposing team became much clearer as the next set of spells left their caster's wands. Both he and the foreign students' Queen cast the same spell, but there simply was no question as to whose was more powerful.
He watched from the corner of his eye as both of their enemy's bishops scrambled to get back to a semblance of a proper position, abandoning their prior approach.
As they should.

Chess Combat (Match 2)
Amaury stepped a square backwards to a square that now set him up for a new angle of attack. The pesky Slytherin he had been targeting before was still standing by means of his teammate's healing spell, which, frankly, irritated Amaury. The French boy had hit him plenty of times to send him to the ground, but his team seemed intent on keeping him alive. But then, the international team wasn't much to insult their strategy as they, too, kept Felix on his feet one reparifors at a time. Honestly, Amaury couldn't help but hold a newfound respect for his teammate, who was battered, bruise, and scorched, yet still on his feet. He wasn't going down without one hell of a fight.

Brought back to the brink of passing out again with another scorching spell, Felix had to half wonder if the Slytherin team was made up of sadists. He was targeted by not one, by all three of the team's ladies. Fortunately for him, only one spell would hit. Unfortunately, it was still painful, no matter the amount. It was fire, after all. He knew he was difficult to ignore, but this was getting a little ridiculous.

Chess Combat (Match 2)
A crafted beam of magic shot forward from her wand as if an excited child, blind to their destructive capability with their carelessness, their enthusiasm, rushing towards the closest target promised. Hit it did her weakened opponent, the brilliant green light dissipating without an immediate mark. As for her teammates, the round was a mixed bag.
She was scarcely able to make sure her cast had sufficiently caught flame when a gust of seasonally inappropriate wind overtook her, pulling at the smoke-beaten fabric about her with a battering specificity only achieved through magical means. She was a flag upon a pole, fluttering in an otherwise unaffected setting, the stinging air nipping her fingers. Nothing too concerning to worry about, in terms of her team's overall health, but still annoying to deal with.

RPing as iNPC Maksim Aleksandrovich Preobrazhensky. Dialogue in italics is Russian. After missing his intended target the first time, Maksim was determined to actually hit the dark-haired Slytherin this time around. Readjusting his grip on his wand, he once again cast a spell in Astrea's direction. He celebrated internally as the spell made contact, and shot glances to his teammates to check on everyone's status. Felix looked a little rough, but otherwise, they seemed to be doing alright for the most part.Doing as strategized.
