Pleased at her answer to the Demiguise question, Lavinia watched as three tokens appeared to the side of the paper. Taking this as a sign that they had got it right, Lavinia steeped aside to let Evelynn cast revelio. It worked and information about a key showed up beneath the questions. Reading it to herself, she figured that the key was to get them to the next step of the adventure. Immediately looking around, Lavinia located the door and went to evaluate the key hole to try and figure out what type of key was needed.
After figuring out the rough type of key, Lavinia listened to her group mates and thought that the door probably had a charm cast on it to prevent against Alohamora. Either way it was a very smart idea and it was definitely worth trying. Letting Evelynn have her attempt at the door, Lavinia moved over to the shelves to start searching. The key had to be somewhere in here because the note said that it was somewhere in the books.
Hearing Bridget cast the summoning charm, Lavinia was impressed by her teammates. They were utilizing their wands rather then just searching like herself. Moving her light a little closer to the shelves, Lavinia went to just address the group, “I’m going to search these shelves real quick to try and find this key.”. Hopefully the spells cast would do something but if not she was searching the old fashioned way.

Key: English| Russian| FrenchFlipping through books to find a keyRosella was rather surprised when the other three students in her group were able to figure out the responses so quickly. She had only thought about finding a book to get the answers. "I am Rosella, and sadly all I found was this," the Russian girl introduced herself as she held up the book she had previously found. It wasn't much, but it was something. The girl thought it was a good idea to attempt to cast a spell to open the door, but she didn't think it was going to be that easy. She wasn't the greatest at spells though and thought it best if she just continued to look through the books for a key.
At least if they were not able to use spells to get through the door, they were able to have a slight head start on going through the books to find the key, as there were a lot of books. Gently, but quickly, Rosella began to flip through different books in attempt to find the key. She no longer thought this was going to be an easy camp activity.

The first group seemed to be taken more creatively than Alan had originally intended as he hadn't assumed so many would use magic. @Evelynn Decipio would attempt to cast the unlocking charm onto the door and Alan should have expected such a thing. DC: 11 | [d20:16]+13 → success With a audible click the door's lock would turn and open. However @Bridget Collins, who was attempting to cast the summoning charm on the key was not so lucky, a book would rush toward her and hit her in the stomach crit fail bc not in trunk | -50 HP and Alan winced slightly, "You okay?" he asked, just to make sure even though he wasn't supposed to help the group out really. But what could he do, seeing someone get hurt?
@Lavinia Cloven and @Logan Baird both seemed to be more casual in their search and relied on their eyes rather than spells. Lavinia [d20:13] did a decent job and eventually found a small, slightly rusty key that had been jammed between two stacks of books, whereas Logan [d20:5] had been less lucky. However that hardly mattered now, since the door had already been unlocked.
As they opened the door it would lead them through a narrow corridor that lead to a square room. A rope hung from the ceiling and seemed thick and sturdy, at each third toward the top was a small ribbon that had a shiny token bound to it. "Please don't use any magic from now on unless specified otherwise, this task is for one of you to do and you can obtain up to three tokens during this task," he would explain. The room was a little dark, but enough to make out the shapes of the surroundings and the tokens itself gave off a soft glow. Any carried oil lamp or lumos would extinguish upon entering this room.
Mod Note:
Congrats, since there isn't really a faster way than magic, I guess you will have gotten a token. The next task is simple, during the rp (you can also discuss this ooc) you choose one person to attempt the rope climb). Each section awards you with one token.

With the telltale noise of a newly unlocked door, Evelynn subtly released the breath that she hadn't realized she'd been holding. There was never really any way of telling what might or might not work. It had been such a simple thing. Too simple, really. A great part of her had thought her efforts would be in vain and the door would simply stand there, firmly jarred, mocking her silently where she stood expectantly. Not so, however. Perhaps sometimes, the easiest way forward really was the simplest. There was a certain beauty to that. Distract the groups with a mad hunt for a key that could have taken them hours depending on how well it was hidden.
"Well, that certainly did the trick, didn't it?"
Resisting the urge to smirk, Evelynn swept her gaze back around upon the rest of them, taking stock of who was where and what had been done. She was met with the unfortunate sight of a book sailing speedily towards Collins. There was time only to part her lips with every intention to interject a warning before it thudded into her stomach. Nose wrinkling at the unfortunate outcome, Evelynn tried to lend the girl a modicum of dignity by not highlighting the slip. Vanes was already checking in, and if she had been in the shoes of her upperclassman, she'd rather be spared the limelight of embarrassment of a misbehaving wand.
Instead directing her attention to the other two, she followed their progress as they finished rifling through the books. The foreign girl hadn't managed to turn anything up, but it wasn't long before Cloven straightened, a small rusty key in hand. "I suppose we won't be needing it…" Evelynn murmured almost apologetically, "..but perhaps it might do to hold on to it regardless? I can't imagine there would be a second lock to match the same key, but one never knows?"
Regardless, with the door unlocked, Evelynn moved on through it, lofting the lantern she'd retrieved on high. A narrow hall extended beyond and she swept confidently along its length, with smooth strides before crossing the threshold into the room beyond. She had only taken a step or two before it snuffed out. The hairs on the back of her neck prickled uncomfortably and stood on end. It was never a good omen when the lights went out spontaneously, especially in the absence of a breeze or obvious reason for it. Nevertheless, it wasn't as though they were left in total darkness. A glow emanated from a few distinct sources, enough to provide some modicum of light by which to make out the rope that hung from the center of the ceiling.
"Are those coins?" she inquired aloud, squinting critically up at the sources of light along the rope. A voice—Vanes' voice—spoke through the din to loosely provide explanation of the task. It was clear enough. Obtain the coins without use of magic. Well, that left out Evelynn. While she may consider herself an athlete, hers was a build meant for speed and agility. Pulling oneself up a length of rope surely required an amount of strength she simply didn't possess. "Anyone fancy a climb?"

The cast went poorly. Perhaps she should have anticipated this, having gone a month without any practice. It was a fact she hated since she'd heard snippets from those with wizarding families of sneaking in at least a few casts during the summer. Since returning to the school, her main focus had been practicing her duelling spells to prepare for chess combat, and apparently that had left her more practical spells rusty. It didn't help that Accio wasn't one she'd practiced much during the school year either; she clearly needed to broaden her focus. Instead of a key, one of the room's many books came flying at her. She wasn't quite fast enough to catch it, reaction time lengthened by surprise, so it ran right into her. It didn't hurt very much, really nothing compared to a Flipendo. More so, the noticeable spell failure left her embarrassed. She was a duelling co-captain, not to mention one who'd gone undefeated this season. It was unbecoming to fail spells.
Alan, who had simply been watching them, now piped up to see if she was okay. "I'm fine," came her terse reply, hoping it would be dropped. To encourage that, she did her best to move on. Evelynn's cast had seen much more success, unlocking the door. Bridget hadn't actually expected it to work, though with Alan's later comment asking them to avoid spell usage, it seemed the use of magic wasn't anticipated, which explained the success of one of the first spells they learned. Her hypothesis spells might be an integral part of this, a sort of test of what they'd learned, was looking to be wrong.
Lavinia found the key, evidence of working well as a unit even if it was no longer necessary. She had to agree it was unlikely the key would be used again, but it couldn't hurt to bring along. Pocketing the tokens they'd earned so far, she followed after Evelynn through the door. It was dark, and if they'd been in the castle, she would have been wary. She was just thinking it was nice the Gryffindor had brought along the lantern when it went out. Lovely. What magic did that? Nothing she'd learned yet. At least it wasn't pitch black, soft glow coming from the end of the hallway. And she was fourteen, plenty capable of managing a fear of the dark, not that she'd even still have one if it hadn't been for the school's strange shadows.
Their next task was a rope climb. Not remotely related to academics, her theory was further disproved. It didn't look very easy, and Bridget didn't place much faith in her upper body strength. She knew she wasn't weak, having worked to retain much of the muscle she'd built up as a Beater, but would that be enough? "I could try," she ventured aloud, not sounding particularly confident. "Lavinia, maybe you'd like to do it? I'd think a Chaser position would most directly translate to something like this." Indeed, she'd seen the Ravenclaw play and from that knew her to be athletic. But if Lavinia--or Rosella, for that matter, she was simply unfamiliar with what the girl might be good at--didn't want to take the climb, she supposed she could, but only as a last resort.

@Lavinia ClovenKey: English| Russian| FrenchAttempting to climb ropeRosella looked continued to look through the books, trying to find anything that would help them get through the door. Sadly her search came up unsuccessful. As the young girl went to turn and tell the rest of her group that she was unable to find the key, she heard the door open with a click. "Oh, never mind then," she muttered to herself softly as she looked over to the other student who had been looking through the books for the key. The key was held in her hand, but currently they didn't have a use for it.
Slowly, the young girl followed after the others, hearing the older boy who was in charge of the group instructing them to not use magic unless told to. Looking up, Rosella could tell that climbing the rope was going to be a bit difficult, and she wasn't the strongest person in the world. She was afraid she was going to let the group down if she attempted, but she was never going to earn anything if she didn't try. "I...I can do it," she spoke up as clearly as possible. She didn't know how this was going to go, but she slowly made her way towards the rope. She didn't want to let anyone down. "You can do this Rosella," she muttered to herself in Russian as she grabbed the rope with her left hand.

Finding the key to open the door turned out to be fairly easy for Lavinia. She had only looked for a few seconds before seeing it jammed in between two stacks of books. Reaching out to grab it she lifted the one stack of books with one hand and slipped her other hand in to grab the key. Turning back to the group, Lavinia had a smile on her face as she held up the key to see that the door was already open. Letting a laugh escape her mouth, she responded to Evelynn. “Alright! I’ll hold onto it for possible future use, nice work in opening the door.” It was all for fun and Lavinia was becoming more excited to be here.
Following Evelynn into the next room, Lavinia was a little surprised at the fact that both of the lanterns had gone out. She wanted to re-light her’s really badly but then the guy who was leading them, Alan said to not use any more magic. Coming into the room, Lavinia noticed the rope hanging from the ceiling and the light glow that the room emitted. At almost the same that she thought it, Lavinia heard Evelynn ask if the glowing objects were coins. “I think they are.” she said calmly in response.
The rope definitely was for one of them to climb and collect coins from. Lavinia wanted to do it but wasn’t going to be upset if someone else decided to do it. Listening to Bridget when her name was said, Lavinia felt really good and immediately responded kindly. “Of course, if no one else wants to do it I am completely open to doing it! Wait… you’ve watched a game before?” It was shocking to find that Bridget knew her position and it took Lavinia a second to realize it. At that moment, just the fact that someone knew who she was put a big simile on Lavinia’s face.
Moving closer to the rope, Lavinia was about to start climbing it when their international acquaintance Rosella offered. Not wanting to take away her opportunity, Lavinia stepped away from the rope and said loudly, “You got this Rosella!” while giving her two thumbs up. It was a little awkward with one of her hands holding the key and the other holding the lamp but she made due. As Rosella started to climb the rope, Lavinia energetically cheered for the younger girl, “GO Rosella!!”

@Evelynn Decipio, @Lavinia Cloven and @Bridget Collins would sit this one out for likely similar reasons; though Rosella (@Logan Baird) was brave enough to give the challenge a go. As such she would grip the rope in an attempt to hoist herself up and reach the first token (DC 15; [d20:20]+7) and with absolute ease and skill Alan watched as Rosella gripped the rope and used her legs as support by wrapping around the rope as she pulled herself up, inch by inch at a fast pace. When Alan had tried this task as a test for the adventure, he had hardly ever managed to make it to the first token. Rosella could easily retrieve it, before making her way further up (DC 15; [d20:5]+7). However her early sprint might have turned into her doom as her arms grew tired and she would feel her hands slip as she slid down, no longer able to keep herself up on the rope. But she had managed to retrieve one of the tokens, which was not bad at all! Alan was impressed.
The boy gave the group a nod and lead them to where seemed to be a small cliff that would connect to the next room. It seemed the only thing that was connecting both ends of the cliff, was a set of monkey bars that were attached above the students heads or a set of turning logs, that would require them to balance over. They shouldn't fear as falling down would allow them to land in a soft pillow landscape that would cushion their fall and allow them to climb up a ladder to the point they were standing right now, allowing for another try at the task.
Mod Note:
This is a Choice Task, to proceed to the next room you may either choose to climb (strength DC12) or balance (evasion DC15) to reach the next room!

Nobody seemed too keen on the test of strength. At least, none of the Hogwarts' girls. Fortunately, the foreigner seemed more than keen to try her hand, and did seem to have a build that would suit it. "Best of luck, then," Evelynn had offered, calmly retreating back a few paces to give the girl some room to work.
Keen eyes remained trained on her throughout the endeavor, and for a while, it seemed they'd put their coin on the right horse, so to speak. Her hands deftly rose the ropes and she pried the first coin from its place of holding with ease. Perhaps she'd started with a touch too much gusto, however. Progress stalled almost immediately after her first success and the hope that Evelynn had built up dispersed in an instant of utter disappointment as she slipped and fell back to her starting position. Two gold coins winked cheekily out of reach, their glint a mockery to Evelynn's pride.
"Well, I doubt I could have done any better," she said honestly, attempting to soften the blow of the mediocre success. "One of three is certainly better than none at all."
And with that, she would allow herself to be ushered forward, the sting of an incomplete task panging annoyingly at the back of her mind. But that soon would fade as Vanes directed them to something of a cliff face, leaving Evelynn to marvel all over again in fascination at the seemingly boundless abilities of magic. They'd entered in through a tent, yet here they were, on the edge of a precipice with a pit of pillows below them with an obvious intent to cushion any fall. A set of monkey bars and a precarious log spanned the chasm.
"Well this one seems a touch simpler, at least," she observed, quickly putting the goal together. Then suggested, "Perhaps we ought to have it so no more than one are on either structure at a time, however. Just in case they move at all with weight, or the log rolls. We might inadvertently throw off each other's balance...."
Evelynn didn't even have to ponder which of the two she would be attempting as soon as the coast was clear for her to make her attempt. As evidenced by her reticence to perform the last task, strength was not her forte. Balance, on the other hand, was. Years of dance and equestrian sport, and now quidditch, had seen to that development. With easy grace, Evelynn stepped onto the log beam. Hands held slightly off to each side to help keep her balance, she kept her gaze forward on the end goal and made her attempt to cross.
