Viola waited for the bottle to land on her, or for it to be her turn to spin, watching random people get flustered over what to her seemed a very basic game. Maybe it was different for the students who got people from their own schools? As far as she could spot, there were not Beauxbatons students in this group. Or maybe to them, a kiss meant some sort of promise of follow-up. Viola really didn't understand why they had to overcomplicate things.

It was her turn soon enough, and Viola reached out to the bottle, only to have to fight the urge to hiss or gag when she realised that the bottle was slightly sticky. Ew. Ew ew ew. This is why people had to carry handkerchiefs with them. This was a prime example of why people who don't keep handkerchiefs or napkins with them shouldn't eat and touch objects at the same time. Okay, bad start, but it was fine. She kept her grip on the bottle and spun, then immediately went to begin cleaning her hand with her handkerchief when her hand left the bottle, almost forgetting to check who it had landed on.

She sighed in satisfaction, hand clean, and then froze as it hit her where she was and what she was meant to be doing. Right. She looked up at the girl the bottle had landed on, one with straight auburn hair and the most prominent grey eyes. She had a reserved, vaguely intellectual air to her, and Viola couldn't help but feel drawn. Good. She would rather not kiss someone who she found unappealing, and she definitely did not find this student unappealing.

She smiled lightly, a challenge in her eyes.

"Hello. Would you care for a kiss?"

If she received any sort of nod, noise of approval or any other form of consent, Viola would lean in for a kiss, a light brush of lips, and sit back down with a smirk on her face. Not a smug or malicious one, but rather one of pleased charm. If she received anything indicating refusal, she would get slightly embarrassed, but nothing noticeable, and wouldn't take it personally. She would say something on the lines of 'very well' (possibly even adding a mutter of 'your loss' in french) and look away.

Once again, her next turn came because of someone else spinning the bottle and it landing on her. Different from last time and the time before that, however, the person who had spun the bottle was a boy. A boy in her year. Not that she really cared all that much more, though. Gia wasn't the type of girl to get all... weird over boys, or romance, or anything of that sort. Honestly, she found it kind of disgusting that people her age—not even teenagers yet!—were actually in relationships.

But still. It was more than a little awkward now, especially since she knew Nicholas a little bit. He was in her year and house after all, and they had played on the same team during the Quidditch scrimmage where she had gotten knocked off her broom and sent plummeting to the ground. Gia was not one to back away from a challenge though, no matter what that challenge was, so she waited (somewhat) patiently for Nicholas to say something.

Eventually, he gave her a small smile, which she returned, only somewhat hesitantly. She could tell that he was nervous, but was grateful when the boy finally said something and asked if she was okay with a hug. "Sure, that's fine." Gia replied quickly. The young Gryffindor girl had already made her way over to the boy, and she immediately leaned in after agreeing and gave Nicholas a brief hug. After a few seconds she pulled away and went back to her seat, giving the other camper another smile.

That hadn't gone too badly... Hopefully she would be able to say the same about the next rounds too.

[font=times new roman]The commotion around the boy was muffled by the fabric of the hood, acting as a sanctuary from leering gazes and the gilded hammer of judgement that would surely befall on him. It was a fleeting oasis, slowly dissipating away as the heat of his blush burned into the golden fabric of his sweatshirt and refused to leave his sunkissed cheeks. As much as his world was coming to a screeching halt, life beyond his shadowed perspective continued without disruption, marching on without him. Levi, as the other boy introduced himself as, did not seem to suffer the same earthshattering realisation that plagued the Ravenclaw. In truth, perhaps he was just a wee bit jealous of how Levi brushed off their fleeting kiss that left a searing image that burned in the back of the huddled boy's mind. Forget it even happened. What he perceived as an insult came in the form of a nagging thorn, reminding him how quickly he was brushed off. Hmph. He would make sure to leave an impression on the smug Gryffindor, ever so tempting to do so in the form of an angry red outline his open palm would leave after a smack to the very same cheek he graced with a kiss.

While he was stewing, the bottle decided to throw the two boys into an awkward dance once again. Still shrouded in blissful darkness of his hood, Lamont hadn't realised that the bottle, as hollow as he felt, stood point-blank at him. As Levi's voice rose above the commotion around the circle, Lamont cautiously uncinched his hood with a reluctant hand in order to face whatever revenge was surely stirring in the lion's mind.

...There were no harsh words spat from Levi, only the slightest smile that quelled the rising refusal in Lamont's throat. The Ravenclaw looked at his clenched fists, curled up so tight that his knuckles were as white as bone until they returned to their normal olive appearance once he relaxed the iron grasp. Taking a moment to recollect himself, he faced Levi with a mirrored smile, accepting the boy's handshake,
"Soulmates, perhaps. I was hoping we wouldn't pass like ships in the night. It would be hard to forget that radiant display, aye? I usually don't fall head over heels so quickly, much less directly into someone."

Lamont casually tossed back the same charm the boy dealt him as they interlocked their hands in a firm handshake, the humour he found in his shortcoming chasing away the blush. When he broke the handshake, the Ravenclaw returned to the spot in the grass that was now flattened in the shape of his crisscrossed legs, shooting a glance at the Gryffindor boy once more before turning his gaze to the next victim of the bottle, who would spare him for the moment.

Lamont had been fiddling with the strings of his sweatshirt when another boy spoke, voice laced with an interesting accent that immediately caught the Ravenclaw's attention and held it as he listened to the American-Russian propose a handshake between them. Whether it was a residual rush of adrenaline or a hidden charisma that had flung itself into the bright spotlight, Lamont reached for the boy's hand with a smirk that was way too smug for the cowering boy he had been just moments ago.

"Lamont Runesby, my dear. A handshake might be for the best, I'm afraid I'm prone to tripping over myself for mysterious strangers. If I do run away, I'll be leaving my heart behind. Promise you'll bring it back?"

His words flowing from his tongue felt foreign, as if someone was speaking for him. Nevertheless, he let them flow from his rosy lips, parted in a gentle laugh as he shook hands with the boy who had yet to introduce himself. Though his words seemed to be dripping with enamor, they were lighthearted and teasing, far from the serious stance he took at the beginning of the game. The other boy seemed friendly enough, and if they were to meet again, he would not protest a friendship.

Moderation Post - Round 4
Nicholas McCowan was happily offering hugs to people. His pairing with Lamont Runesby would likely benefit both of them as neither seemed interested in kissing. A bromantic handshake might be on the cards?

Santario Martin had managed to avoid anything too awkward or frustrating, settling for handshakes throughout the game. She would find herself staring at the bottle right after Levi Drakos spun it... and it was facing her, in case that was not obvious. Well, well, well. Would he still go for another awkward handshake or finally get what he wanted?

Nate Smirnow spun the bottle, watching it spin around and around until it eventually stopped on Evelynn Decipio, who was likely trying to just avoid any major scandals.

Niklaus Turgenev really wanted something more than a handshake or cheek kiss. As he spun the bottle, he was likely hoping for someone who would reward him with more. Would Viola Tempete be the one he was hoping for? She had been willing to kiss Evelynn before, after all.

Percival Rainwood kissed one of the boys visiting from another school and Hanako Tone was not happy about it... Luckily for the latter boy, it seemed that Percival's next spin landed directly on him. Well, well, well... Now what would happen to the duo?

Winnie Harper found herself now paired with Gia Adelard, who was likely hoping things would not be awkward. Winnie would have to likely watch the whole thing between Santario and Levi.

───The icy sting of rejection never felt nice. So, when Winnie had offered her cheek for the brunet girl to kiss and the Slytherin had nervously apologized before mumbling that she had to use the washroom and running off, Winnie was left with a horrifying feeling in the pit of her stomach. A dark red flush graced her features as she scrambled backwards, her gaze cast downwards. Was there something wrong with her? Hadn’t the girl allowed her to kiss her cheek moments prior?

... Did she have bad breath? She had definitely flossed and brushed twice already...

Fate could be such a cruel and fickle mistress, favouring one soul for a millisecond before its focus would shift and offer grace to a new victim. Levi had demanded that his fate be changed, and it would seem he was the favoured golden child this turn. A stroke of luck as the bottle landed on the beautiful force that was Santario. Would the two kiss? She had never thought about it before, but the two would make a handsome couple. Winnie would definitely be watching, her lung holding in a deep breath.

With a quick movement, she would spin the bottle once more. When the game had started, Winnie had felt uneasy, her insides shifting as she tried to avoid the unwelcome lips of a stranger. The situation would change quickly as her gaze flickered across the way and she caught sight of her childhood friend locking lips with a red-haired girl. Winnie froze, her hand hovering over the bottle still. She didn’t see who the bottle had landed on, transfixed, as she watched the couple kissing across the way. So Jack had earned himself a kiss? Cool... Cool cool. That was definitely cool. She didn’t care, good for him. Actually, she was quite happy for him.

... She was also confused. Why was it he, and others for that matter, could so easily kiss other people? Was it really not a big deal for them? Wasn’t the girl he was kissing someone else’s girlfriend? Perhaps she was being a stick in the mud. It was with hitched breath that she would scramble to her feet, still gazing into the distance as if the top of Jack Warren’s head was the most interesting thing in existence. She would only look away with a flushed face and pouting lip if she and the boy locked eyes. "... I’m ready to be kissed now." She would say, still unaware the bottle had landed on a girl named Gia. If she didn’t want to kiss her, that was fine. Winnie might have kissed anyone at this point, but she would accept less from her spin-the-bottle victim partner. Despite practically demanding a kiss, she wasn’t a monster.
Action: Asking for a kiss. Willing to accept a hug or whatever else from Gia.
OoC: I was given permission by Jack to mention his character and his actions and by Opelia to say she ran out to use the washroom.

As she had suspected, the foreign girl had decided to come in requesting a kiss. It didn't matter how manner times Evelynn bore witness to such an action; it never failed to amaze her just how little her peers seemed to balk at the notion of pressing their lips to those of a stranger. Although, in this case, even she wasn't entirely against the notion, responding with a muted, "I would not be opposed."

The kiss was kept brief. Chaste. Neither closing her eyes, nor tilting her head any further than she had to, Evelynn kissed the girl not for pleasure, but to see what emotion the action would evoke. The girl's lips were soft and moisturized, if Evelynn wasn't mistaken. She was anticipating a thrill of butterflies. Perhaps a rush of heat to her ears or a pounding in her chest. Kisses were always depicted in film as almost magical in a way. And if truth be told, she couldn't entirely be certain that they weren't. The last time she'd kissed someone in an attempt to break a spell, the other girl (Jo Morgan) had collapsed, eventually to awaken the next day as though nothing at all had happened.

But this time...? Nothing. No flutter in her stomach. No electric excitement down her spine. Just a mash of flesh against flesh that left her feeling utterly underwhelmed and more than a little disappointed. While she offered the girl a small, half-hearted smile so as not to be impolite, Evelynn withdrew to her seat feeling more than a little dejected. As much as she scoffed at the idea of romance, feeling it to be a waste when such time could be better put towards more productive use, she wasn't ignorant of the trends amongst her peers.

With each year that passed, the students in her year seemed to be becoming increasingly interested in holding hands and swapping saliva. It was hard not to feel like she was overlooking something. As though there had been a memo sent out that she had missed. Usually, it was easy to cast aside the wonder and worry. Less so during times such as this, however, when the subject was entirely intimate. She couldn't help feel a bit broken. And when another boy took to the bottle only to have it land on her, Evelynn's downward spiralling thoughts consumed whatever remaining experimental energy she had.

Just as she had the previous time when Rainwood had landed upon her, she held out her hand, palm to the ground, fingers loosely curled as a lady might when presenting herself to a lord or knight. It seemed a polite thing to do.

Nicholas responded to Gia's smile with one of his own, the expression cracking the exterior of his otherwise hard face. It was genuine and warm, reflecting the way he had felt about how the game had gone thus far. With the exception of the initial icy glare he had received, the game of bravery and risk of kisses had been rather pleasant, hugs had been passed out and his nerves had fluttered on more than one occasion, but he had escaped unscathed.

Once more he spun the bottle, the nervous energy that had caused his shoulders to tense toward the game's start had entirely dissipated now, and it was with great relief that he found that the bottle eventually landed on the Ravenclaw boy, Runesby he believed his name was, although he'd struggled to pay much attention to the goings on that did not concern him. Still, he was vaguely aware of the fact that the other boy had spent most of the game handing out businessman-like handshakes, and had done so with a degree of style and class that Nicholas partly envied.

Nicholas shot a now relaxed smile to the boy, and only finally realised just how tired he was becoming, perhaps it would be time to see through this final pairing and then return to the Thestral cabin. Yet a yawn did not threaten his expression, and his exhaustion only peaked behind his eyes.

"Well," He started, adjusting his posture to face the other boy, "I'd offer a hug but looks like you're more of a handshake kind of guy. How do you want to play this?"

He extended a hand for a handshake, but the offer was there to turn it into a clasp and then hug. If Runesby had some form of alternate plan, then Nicholas had no counter, he hadn't even considered that such a thing could be an option. He was arrogant, cocky even, in his read of the situation and of the other boy, in spite of the fact that they had not shared a word or even a glance up and until that point.

[font=PT Sans]Okay okay okay, he was done being a jealous obsessed baby. He thought that, but the boy could be seen glaring daggers at the foreign boy throughout the whole round. He should be lucky he doesn’t go to Hogwarts. At least this summer camp should be the last Hanako will see of him. Better make himself a bit more memorable to Mr. Wannabe Hot Shot before their time together ends. But this game was not the time nor place to do that. The very least Hanko could do is stare at him so the memory of his hideous face is engraved on his mind. The long stare he gave the boy could be mistaken as a passionate one with how intense it was. Not wanting anyone to get the wrong idea, he huffed and looked away. His adorable eyes suffered enough already.

Percival was merely a victim to the game. While Hana did feel the urge to strangle him earlier, it had long since subsided. It’s not like he meant it. Even if he did, there was no way to know. What was Hana going to do? Talk about it and work it out so they both better understand each other? No way hozay. He could only hope for the best- and make sure it was.

Now that his wounded heart had healed from the earlier embarrassing rejection, he turned his attention back to the game. Although healed, Hanako previously only had time to remedy his heart. And time was not a good remedy. At least not one he enjoyed. The medicine he hopes to find in this game is pushing someone to be embarrassed instead. For the only real remedy to his heart is to make it worse for other. And is true medicine. And boy did he found it.

Should he thank Strawberries? Not only did she become a great target, she had even shooed away Opeila! There goes his worries about being partnered up with Stinky Pei. Upon seeing her embarrassing rejection with her face flushed deep red, Hanako turned his back towards the group for a while. Not so subtly trying to hold back a fit of chortles. He couldn’t help it! One could argue that his rejection deserved to be laughed at as well, but at least he hid his humiliation for a good while. But Strawberries? It’s so hard for others not to be like Hana. How pitiful. It was mean, yea. But it was funny. Clearly Strawberry didn’t have the same plan as Hanako did. Oh how painful it must be to be rejected. If he wasn’t trying so hard not to laugh, he would’ve given the poor girl a pat on the back.

Once he had taken more control of his laughing, he turned back to the group in a vividly better mood. To have the bravery to continue with the kissing option after a rejection like that must’ve taken guts, he admits. As someone who too had a humiliating rejection, it would be rude of him to not give his fellow victim of a broken heart an energetic cheer, yea?

YEAH STRAWBERRIES YOU GO GET THAT KISS! WHOO!” he pumped up, fists in the air and voice loud enough for the whole group to hear. Knowing full well the chances of her getting rejected again was higher than the chances of her getting her kiss. Miss Pancakes (Gia) there hasn’t kissed anyone since the game started. Apart from that cheek kiss if he wasn’t mistaken. But perhaps that was because she was respectful of her previous partner's wishes. Either way, Hanako was there for Strawberries with his half mocking-half genuine support.

Then there was PnP (Prim and Proper a.k.a Eveylyn Decipeho ). She allowed her stinky hands to be kissed by Percival earlier so she didn’t deserve Hanako’s support and acknowledgment. Which some wouldn't necessarily be sad about. Oh and look! She was even paired up with Mr Hotshot Wannabe. Fate really does have a way to bring 2 alike minds together.

The next was Beanpole ( Nicholas ). The dude didn’t even attempt to change his plan of hugging or giving handshakes since the game began. He supposed there was nothing wrong about that. At the very least, Hanako wouldn’t need to remember his face if Beanpole ever got Percival as a partner. Good for him.

He was using so much brain energy by focusing on the game that he had to cover his yawn with a hand. Apart from plotting revenge, cheering for fellow broken hearts, and making boring nicknames for everyone, there wasn’t really anything to look forward to in this game. While doing simple arm stretches, the corner of his eye caught the sight of the fateful bottle slowly coming to a stop to him.

Heh, well then~” he began, ignorant of who spun the bottle. “ Apologies, Kid #4. For I was too tired to pay attention to you. But as you know from the 1st round, I only accept kisses and have no intention at all to settle for anything less. Your attempts at changing my mind will be fruitless. No matter how cute you may be. But just so I know who gets the privilege of kissing me, may I ask who kid#4 is again? Oh, pshh. Who am I kidding. Just kiss me or run away. It's as simple as that "

Winnie already felt less than confident standing in front of the crowd and requesting a kiss, especially after being rejected for a simple cheek kiss. Gia had still yet to respond and that small semblance of confidence she was cradling was quickly deflating like the old air mattress her grandfather insisted was ‘fine to sleep on’ despite the thing resembling swiss cheese. Still, she stood strong, her hip-length copper tresses floating behind her in the presence of cool night air.

Yes, she had been somewhat fine with her decision, until a certain Slytherin boy had opened his big mouth. In front of the entire group. In front of Santario and Levi. Humiliation nipped at her insides, churning and twisting them as her pale face heated up to a hue that matched Hanako’s nickname for her. She would whip around, turning on her heel to face the boy. His face was familiar, but like most of her memories of the end of her first year, any attempt to dig into her unconscious mind was lost. He was but another memory the cruel fog that clouded her mind had stolen from her. May, June, and July were gone. Stolen by strawberry juice spiked with potion. Only whispers of memories remaining, the clues of yesterday scattering throughout the school. Déjà vu was her decided curse and Hanako Tone was among one of the casualties.

This boy, the forgetter of names, or the uncaring of names, had decided to try to cheer her on. The intent of which was lost on Winnie. From the little she had witnessed of his behaviour, he was not the type to cheer people on unless it was with mocking undertones. Strawberries had been her selected nickname. It was appropriate given her attire, lip balm, and the scent of her shampoo. “I-It’s Winnie.” She would correct him, placing her hands on her hip. She huffed in annoyance. The way her cheeks puffed out made her look more like a cartoon caricature. She was not exactly threatening, but, unfortunately for Hanako, Winnie had not had a great summer. And having to watch other romances blossom while she was cast into the shadows was not helping! All she had wanted was to earn a simple kiss from someone and she hadn’t thought it too much to ask considering what the game was about.

“Winnie Harper. You should ask people for their names, sir, especially when kissing them! Kid #4? How would you like it if I called you... Mr. Nicknames?!” It was likely a bad comparison, given how quickly she had come up with the supposed ’insulting’ nickname. "Look at this boy and his hair like white-spun gold, his sunlit tresses could have been blessed by Helios himself. His twilight eyes look as though they could hold eternal secrets. HE IS VERY HANDSOME, and you just dismissed him by calling him Kid #4!" She would gesture towards Percival Rainwood, unaware the two were already... Acquainted. Winnie was aggrieved and potent emotions always ensured her words would be accompanied by lost bits of prose. "You should apologize to him if you want him to consider kissing you."

Nate laughed and nodded, accepting the boy's handshake. He smirked and introduced himself to the boy, Lamont, "I'm Nate Smirnow and I Promise I won't steel your heart." He shook his hand and the boy was instantly sympathetic to Nate. "Maybe our paths will cross again." Nate added before letting go of his hand and turning back around to go to his seat and let the next round come to him.

So slowly the evening was getting late for Nate, he noticed the tiredness coming over him and as he tried to yawn inconspicuously he tracked the ever spinning bottle until it would be his turn and decided it would be his last round. The last chance to get one more kiss for the evening. Not that it was his only wish but somehow it was the whole point of the game.

As soon as it was up to him again, he reached for the bottle one last time, spun it again with too much momentum and waited nervously until it finally came to a stop, which felt like half an eternity. But the half eternity eventually came to an end and with a look that was cool at first, his gaze followed the neck of the bottle to his aforementioned partner, will she grant him a kiss? Nate would find out in a moment.

He smiled slightly at the redhead as he made his way over to her. Should he try one last time or just let the kissing go? He had only a few steps to make a decision and finally decided on all or nothing. After all, he was Nate Smirnow, the boy who didn't give up, who always tried and often won. He stopped right in front of her, stroked his black curly hair a little nervously and looked directly into her eyes.

He didn't hesitate and took her hand carefully in his, folding his free arm behind his back and leaning forward slightly to give her a quick kiss on the back of her hand. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Nate. Nate Smirnow." the American-Russian boy introduced after kissing the back of her hand and straightened up again. But he would not give up here, he would try. What would happen? It couldn't get any worse than a no.

He let go of her hand but continued to stand in front of her and smiled slightly at her. "If you don't mind, I'd like to give you another real kiss." the boy said now, waiting a brief moment for her reaction and taking a step closer. She didn't push him away and he took that as a silent agreement, but didn't want to rush anything. He moved closer slowly, wanting to give her a chance to stop it, but when she didn't, he gave her a gentle but firm kiss on her lips.

After he released the kiss, he nodded to her once more, "It was my pleasure." And with those words, he said goodbye to the red-haired girl and turned his back on the round. As soon as he was halfway out of sight, he ruffled his hair and started laughing. Who was this boy? This couldn't be the Nate he knew! Didn't he know himself anymore? He would never have thought that he could be so open and self-confident with strangers, and all without the presence of his friends. But if he didn't wake up right away, the evening had really happened that way. Nate really did have an extroverted side and had discovered it in himself for the first time.
