Summer Camp Mysterious Maze Group 8 Closed

Haley nodded understandingly to the girl, she couldn't imagine what agony it must have been to experience that explosion and lose friends and classmates. She gave her an "I'm-really-sorry" look and at the same time accepted that they would walk in silence.

When Irina turned around Haley did the same and was surprised by another member of the small group. She smiled at the girl, "Hey there, just in time." Laughed Haley softly and it wasn't long before the three girls stopped.

"Left sounds good." she agreed, not knowing what she could have recognized it by but they had to move on somewhere. Despite the light Serena had conjured, Haley couldn't make out much. She didn't know if it was the darkness or the uncertainty, but an uneasy feeling came over her. Was it fear, excitement or just adrenaline? What else would be waiting for the girls in this maze? The deeper they went, the more Haley questioned whether it had been a good idea. She tried to convince herself that she was safe here and that it was all planned by the professors. After all, she was at Hogwarts but a few days ago some students died too. She tried to push the thoughts aside and concentrated only on the soft noises with every step she took.

I move cautiously through the maze corridor. I'll tell you right now, there's no way I'm going to turn around. Even though the turns are getting more and more numerous. Even if it starts to get foggy. I keep going until I can't see anything. Then I take out my wand.
- Lumos!
All of a sudden, I can see - a little - better. I keep moving forward. My steps are more and more sure. Wait a minute... Isn't that music you hear over there? Yes, it is. It's very faint, I can hardly hear it. I take a few more steps and come to a fork in the road. I'll see. Which way shall I go?
The very dancing hedges and the fog prevent me from seeing more than a few metres away, despite my lighted wand. Fortunately I am not claustrophobic, otherwise I would have left a long time ago. Therefore, I rely on my sense of hearing and smell. For the moment, I can't smell anything. But the music is a bit louder. I'm getting closer! I can hear the sound of a violin.
The first thing that comes to mind is to go. But... What if it's a trap? And if it's not a trap, I'm afraid I'll spoil the mood with my terrible presence. So I take a deep breath before turning left.

Middle Entrance

After taking a moment to think things over, Haley decided that she would follow in the footsteps of her companions to try and catch up to Serena and Irina. With Lumos Duo from Serena’s wand, it wouldn’t be hard for Haley to track them down. The path did not continue for long before reaching another branching path. Their current path seemed to continue for some ways, farther than they could see even with the light. But there was now a path waiting for them to the left. However...that was not all. Due to Serena's light, Haley would be able to see a slightly covered entrance. Leaves lightly covered most of the entrance to the right but if they crouched down, they would be able to crawl their way through the small secret entrance. What lay on the other side? Only one way to find out. Or they could perhaps throw Avery inside and hope nothing grabbed him...

As she arrived at the fork to join the group, she would notice something that sat just inside the left path. Resting on the ground, barely propped up against the side of the left path was an old teddy bear. Its head drooped to one side and it stared blankly at the other wall. It did not move or look outwardly dangerous. Perhaps it was just Eliseo’s comfort bear, lost in the madman’s maze.

Astoria seemed to be thinking through her decisions. A cautious but good approach to remain safe from any potential mischief. Deciding that the music seemed like a potential trap, the girl would begin down the left path. Leaving the sound of the music for what she believed to be the safer path.


The path would twist and turn several times as it led the girl through the darkness. There were no deadends thus far. But after a short while, it seemed that the hedges began to form a small canopy above her, almost like a tunnel of dark green shifting leaves. As the student continued to move, the roof of the tunnel would get lower and lower. With no stars or moonlight breaking through the canopy, it would be pitch black inside as the girl moved.

After following the hedge tunnel for some time, Amelia would bump into a wall as she was standing in the darkness. Unable to see anything, she would have to feel around for a path. Somewhere to the left, in the darkness, there was low laughter for a few moments that quickly faded. If the student felt around in the dark more, they would find that the path broke off into left or right. But both new paths would require the students to crawl deeper into the dark hedge tunnel. The entrance to each side stood no taller than waist height and in the complete darkness, there was no telling how long it might go.

How to Navigate the Maze

1. Each round you can choose an available direction to travel or to take a different action.
2. Each moderation will list the available directions for each student.
3. You can choose to stay as a group or wander off on your own. But if you are alone...beware of the orange.
4. Depending on the paths chosen, you may encounter challenges or changes within the maze.
5. Stats will be used in this tread and thus you will need to ensure they are in your trunk.
6. There will be a moderation post at least once a week. Quicker moderations will be done if all active participants have replied.
7. If a participant misses two weeks of moderation, it will be assumed they decided to take a nap and will be removed from the maze for their safety!
8. As always...clothing will be required in this thread!

So I take the path on the left. The path which, from what I hear, is empty. Empty of people and creatures. I think about Eloise. How is she? Where is she? I walk a few steps and my wand turns off.
- Okay. Whatever. I'll continue without.
There's not much light, but I'll make do. I don't know why my wand turned off but it's better not to think about it right now. My eyesight is slowly getting used to the lack of light. Okay, I can't see everything in great detail, but it's enough for me.
The light is beginning to fade. A cloud? I look up to check. No. No cloud. But a tunnel of vegetation has started to form. Not really good news. The worst thing is that the ceiling is starting to drop! I can touch the ceiling by raising my arm.
And I can't see anything. Total darkness, low ceiling, this is not a place for the claustrophobic. With my hands in front of me, I keep moving forward a little. My hands suddenly touch cold, smooth stone. I close my eyes for a moment, just to see if I can see anything afterwards. Opening my eyes again, I can barely see. I can see the grey of the stone and the black of the hedges.
And two passages. To get through, I'll have to crawl. Because frankly, there's no way I'm going to turn around! I pass my head in each of them to see if there is a noise or a suspicious smell. On the left side path, laughter. Not for long but I'm sure I heard laughter. I really need to find someone. Just to get a clue on how to get out of the maze. I know, it' s me who signed up.

When Haley arrived at the next decision point, she took a moment to look at the place a little more closely. At first glance, there were two options - continue straight or go left. Haley looked at the two options and noticed something on the left path. Haley walked closer and knelt on the ground. "Hey guys, look what I found." She called out to the other two and pointed to the teddy bear. It looked like an ordinary teddy, its gaze fixed, but it didn't look scary and so Haley reached over and took the bear in her hands to examine it a little more closely.

As she continued to kneel on the floor with the teddy, she now looked in the direction the bear had been looking. Maybe it was supposed to be a sign or maybe the teddy was completely meaningless but while she was still kneeling there she noticed something else. It seemed there was another entrance on the right side. Thanks to the light from Serena and Haley's new position she could see it better now and crawled towards it. "Look, here's another way in." Haley pushed the leaves to the side and the secret path revealed itself.

The curiosity in Haley almost compelled her to just keep digging and go that way, what would be waiting for her on the other side? There had to be something about this secret path, right? Haley still had the teddy bear in her hand and would take it with her on the rest of the journey if the bear didn't suddenly resist. "I think I want to go this way." Said Haley, her gaze still fixed on the secret passage. It was almost as if she was in a trance and so she just crawled into it.

After heading left, they continued in silence for a little bit until they reached the next fork in the path. At first glance, all Irina saw was a path heading left and one heading straight. Then with a little bit more looking and help from Serena’s light, she saw another path on the right. It was covered with some leaves and looked to be quite small.

The easy decision for Irina was to go left because that was what Serena had suggested the last time. Also, it would probably be quicker to get out by just turning a certain way rather than switching it up. Planning on heading that way if no one had another opinion, Irina say a creepy teddy bear blocking the path. She wasn’t scared of it, it just looked weird and out of place. Surprisingly, the younger comrade Haley found the bear mesmerizing and proceeded to believe that it was guiding them somewhere.

Irina didn’t put that much thought into it and couldn’t really care less. All she cared about was getting out of here and if a dead eyed bear was to lead them then so be it. Seeing Haley head towards the covered path, Irina tried to be interested at what was going on. “I thought that we were going to keep heading left but okay, into the secret passage it is.” She said indifferently to the two. Following right behind Haley, Irina made her way into the passage.

Serena sighed a breathe of relief as the light kept them safe. She had an adverse fear to the darkness - or lack of light - because of all of the things that happened over the years. Frowning as they came across a path that seemed to turn left or continue straight on, she looked around in ponder. Left made sense, right? They just had to continue down the left path, after all.

It was then that she saw some leaves covering something. Frowning, she leaned a little closer, holding her lit up wand to it. It seemed like there was an entrance there, to go somewhere. A short-cut perhaps? She could fit through the gap, she was pretty sure. The entire group probably could. The others had spotted it too, deciding to go for it. Since she did not want to go alone, she figured that she would stick with them.

Besides, a part of her was curious. It did look interesting and if it was a short cut then they could get out of there faster this way, "Random secret passage it is!" She announced as she followed them in. Crouching low, she got onto her knees and attempted to crawl through the gap behind the other two.

Middle Entrance

The small group in the ever-changing middle route seemed to allow their curiosity to get the better of them. Who wouldn’t want to crawl into the secret tunnel? Haley seemed to be looking for a bit of adventure and wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to wiggle their way through. But first, they thought it would be a good idea to grab the strange teddy bear. The moment she grabbed it, the bear snapped at Haley’s hand. The bear continued to viciously bite the girl while Haley moved to the tunnel. It was only a teddy bear so it wasn’t entirely painful to be gnawed on by it, but it might be a bit surprising and irritating.

Irina and Serena both seemed to share the sentiment that the secret tunnel was the way to go! It was tight but they would all make it through to the other side. The group found themselves in a small room-like chamber, illuminated by Serena’s wand. At the center of the chamber was a small wooden table with four rocks sitting on it. With the light from the wand, they would be able to see little faces painted on each of the rocks but no other information. They appeared to be solidly made rock friends but it would be unclear what the little rocks were doing. Perhaps they were having a little rock meeting... Perhaps they were discussing their fondness for goblins, well-known companions of rock friends as the legend goes. On the far end of the chamber was another hole in the wall of the hedges. Based on the height, the students would have to crawl into the tunnel which appeared to be pitch black inside. A wooden sign sat above the tunnel and read ‘The Friendship Tunnel’ in oddly squiggly writing.

Even the strange laughter from the darkness was not enough to scare Astoria off. Dipping into the left tunnel, the girl decided that they would show their bravery and continue forward. The ground would be soft underneath them as they were forced to crawl. With no light, Astoria would occasionally bump into the walls as it twisted and turned. As they crawled there was another low giggle from the direction they were going. A bit louder this time, as if it was getting closer.

Soon they would emerge from the tunnel and be able to stand in a room-sized chamber. The moment The girl emerged from the tunnel, a ring of candles surrounding a wooden rocking chair suddenly lit. The light from the tiny fires illuminated a porcelain doll sitting in the chair with two outstretched hands. In one hand sat a cupcake, in the other sat an old looking key.

There were no paths leading out of the chamber, except the one they had come through. They could choose to investigate the chamber or head back the way they came. But as Astoria stood, there was a low giggle from the porcelain doll before the chamber returned to its ominous silence.

Following Haley through the tunnel, Irina noticed how the teddy bear that Haley had grabbed was trying to attack her. It was weird to see yet it didn’t surprise Irina. She had expected odd things to happen and if it wasn’t happening to her then it really wasn’t her business. Coming out of the tunnel, Irina stood up to see that they had arrived in a sort of chamber-like room. Serena’s light had made it so much easier to see the whole thing and Irina was definitely thankful for it.

Spotting a table in the middle of the room, Irina walked up to it to see four rocks sitting on it. Walking up to the table, Irina noticed that the rocks had painted faces on them that made them look quite creepy. She couldn’t think too much on it though, because he thoughts were still focused on getting out of the maze as quickly as possible. Slowly looking around the room, she only saw two exits. One of which they had just came from and the other looked as though it was another tunnel. Not wanting to head back because they were technically trapped in here, Irina moved towards the other tunnel.

Before really thinking too hard on it, Irina crouches down again and reads the sign just above the entrance. Turning to the group, she says, “This is labeled the friendship tunnel but it’s the only way so let’s just go through it.” Hoping so badly that the maze is almost over, Irina starts crawling through the tunnel.
