─────Year two. Had time truly moved so quickly? It felt as if it were yesterday that she stepped out of Hogwarts Express and was counting steps to learn her way around the castle. After a truly trying first year, Lucinia was back to start all over again. Oh joy. It was a brand new year, brand new start. For Lucinia, nothing could be more intimidating. She prided herself on being adventurous, ready to go anywhere or do anything but Hogwarts terrified her. Maybe it was the less than stellar grades she'd gotten during the course of first year but Lucinia came with a new attitude.
After all, her father had insisted that she have a new attitude. Or else there'd practically be nothing for her to do when she returned home for break. So there she was, doing her best to be a good little student. Her quill was poised over parchment, scratching out notes and the occasional cribbing spell she'd been tempted to learn scribbled out. Lucinia was determined to do things the 'right' way. Even if it killed her.
She was in such a writing frenzy that her elbow nudged the heavy history book from the table, slamming into the floor with a heavy thud. Lucinia glanced around, hoping against all odds that the librarian wouldn't kick her out. The brunette turned, quickly picking the book up from the floor but in her haste, managed to slam it back down onto the table. All the noise she was making was enough to bring attention and Lucky cringed at the idea of having to find somewhere else to study. It was her fifth attempt that day!
"Sorry." she whisper yelled to the other occupants, shuffling back into her seat. "So, so, so sorry."

Offering help to @Lucinia Thawin
Simon heard the first slam and while it seemed to make the few he was sitting next to in the chairs jump, it hadn't him. Maybe it was his steady reflexes, he didn't know, but he kept on reading from his book, only distracted slightly from their reaction, not the book itself.
Second thud.
Once again it wasn't the thud that distracted him, but those around them. Hushed whispers of "come on!" and "...again?" could be heard from the nearby students and Simon was tired of their negativity. He got up from the chairs and headed over to the table where the girl was sitting.
"Some of the books in this place are ridiculous, are they not?" The Monster Book of Monsters that would literally eat your homework and maybe take a bite out of you for dessert. Ones that didn't want to be read and floated themselves higher and higher onto the shelving of books. And some that weighed more than some of the students!
"That one's quite big. If you're finished with it, I don't mind putting it back for you." Simon didn't know what the commotion was about but his thoughts were that maybe she had tried to pick it up to re-shelve it and just didn't have the strength to do so. That's where being a dhampir came in handy. There was never a time that he could remember where he couldn't pick something up despite how heavy it was. Even when he was younger.
Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)
