A labyrinth. I don't know if I should do it or not. I want to do it. But I don't want to die! Besides, there are definite groups and I'm not with Astoria. labyrinth. I had stayed a bit behind until now. But it's OK, I've made up my mind and I'm moving towards the group. See one person in particular. The other girl from Beauxbatons in the group. What is her name again? Cathy? Callie? Yes, that's right. Cassie.
I slowly approach my classmate. I hesitate to tap her on the shoulder. Yes, I'll just talk to her. That's better.

- Hum... Cassie? I'm Eloise. I'm in Beauxbatons too.

I spoke to her in French because I am more comfortable with the language and it is the language of our school. Hopefully, Cassie will agree to let us team up to go through the maze. Because I don't want to go through it alone and I don't really want to go through it in a big group.

Kazuo had signed up for the maze with Ruka, hoping that they might get in a group together but instead found himself in a group with students he didn’t know very well at all. He wrinkled his nose in disappointment but it passed quickly enough. New people might be interesting, especially when facing a puzzle that may need to be solved with teamwork. 

He made his way over to the maze after dinner, snacking on an apple as he walked around it. He studied each entrance in turn, noting the watermelon scent, the note, and the bucket. Clues? Warnings? Prompts? He moved back to the front of the maze, considering what he knew of the Groundskeeper. In hindsight, perhaps he shouldn't have signed up for the maze… he had a sneaking suspicion that things might get messy.

It seemed only one other had arrived so far, a girl from one of the other schools. How long should he wait for the others to arrive before venturing into the maze? And which entrance should he choose? The warning posted to the middle entrance made him think it was intentionally ominous to scare the students from choosing it. Which meant that it might be the best place to start. Unless Céspedes-sensei was applying reverse psychology. If they entered at the south, they should probably take the bucket with them, there had to be a reason it was there. The north entrance and its lingering watermelon scent was just unnerving.

Cosmo was very excited to go through her first ever maze. The town she grew up in was very small, and none of the old farmers ever had a reason to set up such a thing, so by the ripe age of twelve Cosmo was finally getting ready for the experience. She had heard tales from her friends about the events which Hogwarts hosted and knew that they could be dangerous, but she wasn't frightened. Some might call it naivety but the young gryffindor liked to think of it as being brave. After all she had an entire years worth of spells in her arsenal... what could possibly go wrong!

As the day passed Cosmo became more and more eager, so much so that by the time she arrived at the maze she was practically bouncing on the spot. The entrances themselves threw her off, she had not expected to be given choices. Nevertheless, she walked her away around checking each one out. The note was intriguing, but the basket and watermelon scent more so. Both reminded her of summers back home, picking apples into big wooden baskets and when the neighbours fields would be bursting with plump juicy melons. As the season came to a close they would be offered out to the children of the town for free, and a fruit feast would ensue. Cosmo stood at the northern and southern entrance for longer than she meant to, blissfully lost in memories of sticky fingers and wide smiles. She shook her head, bringing herself back to the present. Better not linger, she decided, it was making her far too nostalgic.

Instead, Cosmo sought out her group and was only slightly disappointed to see not everyone there yet. She nodded a greeting to the two who had arrived, and walked up beside them. "Hiya guys, been here long?" she stood close by, settling in to wait for the others.

Still poised and discussing at the entrances, the young students had yet to make a move that would start them down on of the paths. Perhaps it would be good to strategize before hand and at least none of them were already lost within the darkness. At the very least, the weather outside the entrances was proving very nice. There was a light breeze that would tickle the chin of Kazuo as he waited and the smell of watermelon only seemed to be growing from the northern route.

Navigation Options

All participants can choose to enter one of these entrances:
1. The Northern Entrance - It has a strange smell of watermelon lingering in the air...
2. The Middle Entrance - There is a note pressed against the side of the entrance reading 'Are you sure?'
3. The Southern Entrance- On the ground just in front sits an empty bucket.

How to Navigate the Maze

1. Each round you can choose an available direction to travel or to take a different action.
2. Each moderation will list the available directions for each student.
3. You can choose to stay as a group or wander off on your own. But if you are alone...beware of the orange.
4. Depending on the paths chosen, you may encounter challenges or changes within the maze.
5. Stats will be used in this tread and thus you will need to ensure they are in your trunk.
6. There will be a moderation post at least once a week. Quicker moderations will be done if all active participants have replied.
7. If a participant misses two weeks of moderation, it will be assumed they decided to take a nap and will be removed from the maze for their safety!
8. As always...clothing will be required in this thread!

Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin was late.

Luckily, by the time she got to the maze, she didn't seem to be all that late, because there were only three people there. She sprinted towards them, hair flying out behind her in a rather messy ponytail, panting. "I'm here! I'm here, I'm here, don't start without-" she exclaimed, out of breath, as she skidded to a halt... and then recognised the boy. "Oh great, you."

Before either of them could do anything though, the girl tapped Cassie on the shoulder, and introduced herself in French. "Oh! Hi," she replied, still trying to get her breath back. "Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin, but call me Cassie because two forenames takes far too long to say." She looked over at the boy. Kazuo. Cassie still didn't know his last name, but she knew enough to know that, whenever the two of them were in the same place for more than five minutes? Things didn't work out. "I'm going in. Come with me if you like. I'm not staying a moment longer in that boy's company." Oh, was that spite? Yes, indeed it was.

Cassie didn't even bother looking round at all the entrances. Instead, she just headed into the nearest one, completely ignoring the rather onimous sign which seemed to warn her against this route.

Well, this would be fun.

Shanelle was a little uncertain when she arrived at the maze. The looming maze was an intimidating sight, as if inviting her for certain death. She shuddered at that thought, surely the professors won’t put them in danger?

Then Shanelle’s adventurous side took over, something fun must be inside. The windy pathways looks like they could make anyone get lost.

With a mixed feeling, Shanelle readjusted her clothing and tied up her hair as she got closer to the maze. She saw a couple of other students, one to two years older, and the groundskeeper. Being too shy to say hello, Shanelle just walked over to a random entrance Middle Entranceand waited for the fun/certain death to start.

One more arrived and Kazuo gave the girl a smile. “Not too long though I’m not sure how much longer we should wait for the rest of the group.” He replied to Cosmo. “I’m Kazuo, nice to meet you.” He offered then turned his gaze toward the maze. “Knowing the groundskeeper, I’m not sure any of these entrances is truly safe. I would be prepared for surprises whichever entrance we choose to go through. We should probably bring that bucket as well, just in case. I don’t imagine he would just put it there for no reason.”

As he was considering which entrance to suggest, another girl came barreling up to them at full speed. His gaze shifted to her as she shouted at them then arched a brow when she seemed to be addressing him with disdain. [color=#MF0000] “Macarena girl.”[/color] He acknowledged her presence with a smirk. He wasn’t entirely sure what her problem was but he supposed she must still be sore about losing at the Ball. Honestly, some people couldn’t handle losing. He watched her storm off straight into the middle path without even bothering to take a look at the maze. That earned a snort from him. “Well, then.”

Another girl also wandered into the middle path, one he didn’t recognize at all. She must be one of the new students who would be starting at the school come September. That gave him pause for a moment, wondering if she would be okay without any magic. She was following Macarena Girl so she wouldn’t be alone. He gave a shrug then moved to the bucket, picking it up then stepping through the entrance.

Hooded, and being one of the few to turn up last minute, Falentra took a slow approach on her small group making sure to eye up every single one for a brief moment without making it too obvious. From what she made of them, she couldn't recognize a single face. It wasn't too much of an issue for her. Being thrown with strangers meant it was easier for them to deal with if it meant things getting psychical..if it was to come of it. No hard feelings though, right?

The Slytherin passed the few groups that had already started to form, and rather than greet them she would walk straight passed and head on towards the entrances, observing each separately. The groups drew close around the same time and the majority seemed to be going for the middle and south entrance which of course drew her to the northern one. If anyone was want to team with her, it was to be a mixture of a wise and risky choice. She would happily help a peer if in need, but the moment they started to get in their way she would surely drop them on the spot. For now, it was just a waiting game. That watermelon smell wasn't all too bad, though...

Cosmo grinned at Kazuo when he introduced himself and answered in turn, "nice to meet you too, I'm Cosmo!" She nodded in agreement with both his other statements, "I think you're right about the bucket, its very practical. And considering there's five of us already we should probably hop to it, if people want to follow along they can catch up."

Three girls were ready to enter the maze, two quiet, the other with a distasteful glance at Kazuo. Cosmo watched them go, a little disheartened. She thought it would have been nice to go as a group, and as the evening descended around them she felt herself shiver a little. The maze was looking more intimidating by the minute, but there was the comforting weight of her wand in her pocket, and at least it had sounded like Kazuo would go with her. She studied him quickly, taking in the alternative outfit and dyed hair, before quickly deciding that he was a very good companion to have. Letting this fill her with new vigour, Cosmo followed after him with big strides. It stood to reason that if she was nervous, the others possibly were too. So she straightened her back and fixed a big smile on her face, hoping to calm anyone else around her.
