It had been the briefest of conversations, an idea tossed about among the Huffles, nothing more. Yet Kazuo had taken to the idea and now that they were at camp, he had the opportunity to make it happen. In fact, there was really no better setting for it than a giant bonfire. Of course he wasn’t entirely sure who would follow through but that didn’t deter him at all. If his co-conspirator failed him, surely someone else would join in? Maybe they could even lure their Head of House to join in the fun.

So it was that, after dinner, Kazuo returned to his cabin to collect his shamisen then made his way down to the bonfire. He took a seat and carefully removed the instrument from its case, revealing the three-stringed traditional instrument with a slight smile. This would be the first time he would be playing it around so many other students and it was a bit scary. He ran his hand along the back of the purple heart wooden neck then settled fingers across the strings. In his right he held the bachi and drew it across the strings not unlike how one might use a guitar pick, drawing out the slightly twangy sound of the strings. He ran a quick warm up, biting his bottom lip as he focused on the sounds, making sure the instrument was still in tune.

Raising his head, he looked around at the students that had begun to gather for the nightly fire then began to play, picking a song he hoped would encourage people to join in. He kept time by tapping his foot as fingers flew over the strings, starting simply enough by following the melody of the song. As he progressed, he began to improvise runs that matched the song then flowed back into the melody. He closed his eyes as he played, too nervous to look at the students around him.

How Cash Sing the Song
Cash was about to head back toward their cabin after dinner took place but Summer Camp is all about having fun and mingling with your peers. They looked a bit torn but eventually Cash make their way towards where the bonfire is located. Upon their arrival at the Campfire, Cash saw a single boy holding a funky looking guitar - like.

A guitar with only three strings on it. The green eyes never saw that kind of instrument before. They might asked the boy what that instrument called. Quietly Cash seated across the boy as the boy started to play with his eyes close. As the first melody comes, Cash opened their mouth to sing along with the melody that emitted from the guitar.

The guitar produced a twang sound and it reminded Cash of how a banjo sound like. The song that the boy choose is quite popular but instead sing it the English version of it, the green eyes decided to mixed it with their mother tongue which is Spanish. At the first verse, Cash sang it in English but through out the song they sang the song in Spanish.

Cash also throw some of the rap part that entails with the song in Spanish too. The Beater was not a professional rapper but the former purple hair thought it was fun to keep it as close as the original remix version of the song. Cash smiled as they tapping their feet onto the ground, following beat after beat as the boy's fingers flew over the strings.

It was a unique experience for them, since usually the song accompanied by either a guitar or a piano. Who knew the song could sound different than it usually is. As the song continues, Cash throw some runs in it. And when the song almost at the end, the Cuban descendant change the key a bit and make their voice a little higher but still in tune with the melody that was played by the boy.

Cash think back when they ever saw the boy before, but can not pin pointed exactly when or where. Cash waited until the last melody rang out and they smile from ear to ear. Music, melodies and songs always be their remedies. Music is a loyal company for them no matter what mood the green eyes were in and would never disappointed them.

The green eyes waited for the boy to open his eyes; when he does, Cash would throw a soft smile at him. "That was quite lovely,"Their Spanglish Spanish - English accent came out as Cash gave their compliment. "I hope you do not mind that I joined in your impromptu sing - along"Cash stated. The young Ironwoods then looked at the guitar.

"I am quite intrigue with your choice of instrument, what is it called?"Inquired the soon to be Third year to the Japanese boy.

Santario had eaten slower than usual this evening, still recovering from yesterday’s duelling games. By the time she had gotten around to leaving the designated eating space, she had noticed someone familiar, Kazuo, playing an instrument by the bonfire. She also noticed another Slytherin had just sat down across from him, so her interest was officially piqued.

She made her way over to the bonfire and took a seat on one of the unclaimed sides so that she could see both Kaz and Cash. Her hands smoothed down her burnt orange shirt before pushing her long hair off her shoulder, letting it cascade down her back. San would watch the two silently while Cash joined in and sang with Kaz’s playing.

It was quite lovely how the two came together. As Cash stopped singing and finally spoke to the boy across from her, San found herself nodding her agreement. “You both were quite lovely.” The words were soft-spoken but still loud enough to be heard. She was not sure if she planned to actually sing tonight or not. Sure, Kaz had heard her sing, once, and a few others had heard her if they were in the frog choir. That still did not account for the mass amount of students that could potentially show up tonight, and what if Alexsander decided to make his way over as well? That put a knot in her stomach that she just did not understand.

Nerves, she told herself; besides, she was always nervous when singing around new people. Even if Pericles told her time and time again to not be. Even so, the warmth of the fire and its crackling in the background of Kaz’s playing were helping her relax to the point of feeling sleepy, so she was not even sure how long she intended to stay anyway. San just wanted to enjoy it while she felt awake enough to do so.

Flash was calm. His July had been stressful and exhausting, but it was over. Now that he was in camp, he could relax. He was surrounded by friends, smiling faces, and happy occasions. It did his heart good to immerse himself in that kind of positivity. He knew this area, it was out in the open, he was surrounded by people. It was nice to feel safe, even if it was temporary.

He'd take walks around the campgrounds all the time, either with Willow or alone. The summer air was thick and fragrant, during twilight hours he'd close his eyes and listen to the nighttime insects awaken and begin their nightly symphony. When the last purple rays of twinkling sunlight hid behind the distant mountains, Flash returned to the campfire as usual. He attended often, but relegated himself to the role of spectator. He had plenty of catching up he had done with dear friends during the daytime hours, and preferred to be quiet in the evening.

That night in particular had a pleasant surprise. Kazuo appeared carrying some kind of instrument, which he promptly started playing. What's more, he was delighted to hear his teammate Cash chime in. It was an enchanting scene, something spontaneous yet harmonious. The instrument wasn't familiar to him at all, and Cash sang in a foreign language. He was impressed at how beautifully they sang, a talent he didn't know they had. He couldn't explain it, but it brought him great contentment. Really, he didn't want to explain it, he had done enough thinking lately. It was time to let go and not think about anything.

It was a shame when the song had to end, but Flash followed it with applause, his smile stuck on his face. "Bravo!" Undoubtedly, his clapping would encourage others to celebrate the performance as well. Flash hoped it wouldn't stop there, enough that he felt moved to make sure it didn't. "Do you know the song 'Stand By Me'?"

Flash tried to think of the most commonly known song he could think of, but he was not a pop music kind of guy. It wouldn't be much of a disappointment if Kazuo didn't know that one in particular, so long as he knew there were people who wanted to hear more. Starting the requests would also make others feel more secure in making their own as well.

Kazuo opened his eyes when a voice joined in, head turning until he spotted Cash singing. He grinned at her, happy to see someone joining in so quickly. He continued playing with Cash as he noticed others seemed to be drawn in by the music. Just what he had hoped for, though no one else had started singing yet. As the song came to an end, he gave Cash a bright smile. “Thank you, your singing was lovely too. Of course I don’t mind! In fact, I was hoping people would join in.” He looked down at the shamisen, plucking a few notes. “It’s called a shamisen, a traditional Japanese instrument. It's much simpler than a guitar, only three strings and its strung in an octave variation, usually.” He explained at Cash’s question. He plucked the first then the third string, showing that they were the same note an octave apart.

He turned to Santario when she complimented them, giving her a grin. “Can Apollo convince you to sing again, Martin-senpai?” He asked then flushed a bit when Flash applauded. He hadn’t been expecting that. This was supposed to be a sing along, not a performance by him... Applause made him feel a bit awkward, self-conscious. He glanced at Flash when the other boy put in a request, nodding. “I do. I should be able to manage it…” He replied with a smile. He knew the song though he had never played it on his shamisen before. He began a bit slowly, head tilted slightly, frown creasing his brow as he focused on the sounds but once he’d found the rhythm the frown eased and he began to play to tempo. He hoped the others would sing as he wasn’t very good at singing in English.

Ruka had not been the biggest fan of the nightly campfires so far. They were crowded and loud and ultimately not really worth the hassle, usually. Still, he had tried his best not to retreat to his cabin after dinner each night, to stay out and socialise a bit. What was the point of going to camp if he didn't involve himself in camp activities?

That particular night he had returned to his cabin only for a little while, just to recharge his batteries with a book for half an hour, so when he did join the campfire, Ruka already saw a couple of familiar faces gathered there. He could spot Flash, sat by himself and applauding as Kazuo finished the song he must have just been playing. Ruka wasn't quite close enough yet to hear the words spoken, and he didn't try to make any of them out either. Instead he casually strode closer, lifted a hand in greeting to whoever might pay him attention, and found a space to sit close to Kazuo, a small smile on his face as he inspected the other boy's instrument for a moment.

While Ruka enjoyed music, he had no talent for actually creating any, didn't know how to play an instrument and couldn't carry a tune to save his life, but that didn't mean he couldn't sit and enjoy this little singalong session anyway, did it? Having left Fuwafuwa to cater to herself for the night, Ruka found himself free to just sit and enjoy, maybe have a drink or some snacks. He did want to show his support for Kazuo, even if it was just by being there.

Letting the warmth of the fire wash over him, Ruka closed his eyes for a moment, listening to the hauntingly beautiful sound the strings of the shamisen made as Kazuo started plucking them again. He could recognise the melody but wasn't exactly eager to display his lack of talent when it came to singing, so he just smiled as he kept his eyes closed, gently swaying to the sound of the music. If nothing else, at least he would get to spend his night listening to Kazuo play, and that was enough.

Haven had prepared for this all summer long. Her mother had regaled her with stories of summer camp and all the sing-alongs she had attended. In anticipation of the sing-alongs, Haven had started learning guitar- she didn't have much else to do, plus this way, she could force the family cat, Merlin, to listen. She had practiced every day for at least an hour, if not more, so she didn't suck too much at this point. Once she had heard of the idea, she rushed to go grab her things.

She must have been quite the sight, red hair flying, the flowers she had braided into it leaving a trail behind her. She had her guitar in one hand, a small stack of sheet music in the other, and a kazoo in her mouth. Yes, what a sight she must have been. Of course, once she got to the campfire, she nearly tripped, which she blamed on it being dark, not being overexcited, obviously.

The campfire wasn't very full- yet. Once she got started, she had confidence that it wouldn't be very empty for long. Another boy there was playing an instrument, so Haven set her music on a nearby bench and sat down on it, so it wouldn't accidentally go flying into the fire. That would be a disaster and a half. She gave two short toots on her kazoo to announce her arrival before shoving it in her front pocket.

Since her musical repertoire wasn't very large yet, Haven listened to the song that was playing. It sounded familiar, but she couldn't quite place her finger on it. Her cat probably would though, if only he were here to accompany him. Then again, he wasn't much of a fan of fire, so he would likely hate the sing-along. Her poor cat. She couldn't wait to regale him with all sorts of tales when she saw him again. It was probably a good thing that the boy was playing a song, otherwise, she probably would have gone on in a ramble that lasted three days. She couldn't help that the world was so interesting and there was so much to talk about! But until there was a part of the song where she could join in, she stuck quietly bouncing in her seat. But not bouncing too much, because she didn't want to bother anyone else who might suddenly appear and sit on her bench. It didn't seem like anyone else brought along a kazoo to announce their presence, which was okay, because Haven had more than enough energy to kazoo for all of them. YAY SINGALONG!

Hogwarts kept its students and guests busy throughout Summer Camp.

It was almost ridiculous that some people seemed to insist on throwing their own activities into the mix as well. One might have thought that they would take the little time off that they had to retreat, relax, read a book. Instead, they were gathered around the campfire, a curious flock of people. A boy with Asian features strumming away on an Instrument that was foreign to Aleksandar, a girl singing along in an attempt to drown out the music with the sound of her voice. Another boy seemed to believe he was sat in a concerto, smiling at the musician and applauding rather than treating it as the singalong his peers had clearly recognised it as.

Amidst the insignificant masses, however, Aleksandar had spotted his angel, the radiance that had been keeping his focus for the past two weeks, that he basked in whenever he had the chance. He was drawn to her, a magnetic force pulling him in without giving him the chance to resist. His feet carried him closer just as the musician addressed her, ending her name in what Aleksandar thought to recognise as a Japanese suffix. Only a few more steps and he had reached Santario's side, took a seat with a few inches of respectful distance. "You sing as well, Santario?" he asked with a pleasant smile, straightening his back as he focused blue eyes on the gentle features of her face, the artistic angle of her cheekbones, the soft plumpness of her bottom lip. "Art must flow through your veins, does it not?" Not only Art, it seemed; She was a Singer, a Photographer, a Duellist, a Leader, kind, intriguing, ethereal. Aleksandar wondered how she was not the centre of everyone's attention in a crowd, but he found himself grateful that he was currently the only person actively revelling in the shine of her angelic aura.

His attention was diverted merely for a few seconds by the approach of two new people. One with a familiar yet foreign face that made his insides coil unpleasantly. This was not the right time, not the right place. Certainly not the right company. The second person had caught flowers in her hair it seemed; Another of many redheads at Hogwarts, a bounce in her step, a guitar in her hand, a kazoo between her lips. She exuded life like a sunflower craning its neck towards the light. The sound of her kazoo elicited but a small smile from Aleksandar before his gaze drifted to the musician who had started on his next song as per request of the boy who seemed to be here to enjoy a concert.

The melody was vaguely familiar to him, a Muggle favourite you could not escape if you valued being able to leave your house. He did, however, not know the words so remained silent, showing his reluctant appreciation for the music with rhythmic nods of his head. The warmth of the fire settled comfortably against his skin, though it was no comparison to the heat coursing through his insides at being seated next to an angel.

It was an amazing night, winter had been getting a drink with her fellow friend Xeno when she began to hear music. She listened closely, HAVANA she loved that song. Without even thinking twice she gripped his hand and ran towards the beautiful sounds. She loved to sing, though it was rare if she sung in front of people. Looking over at her friend, she gave a look of idea and was hoping he would know her thoughts.

The two friends sat down and out of literally nowhere winter whispered to Xeno "lets popcorn it!" she said with a smile of excitement. Winter had done something called 'popcorning' many times before with her cousin alex, they would keep the same beat of a song, in this case havana, and sing different songs with the same beat and rythm. Some people would even call it a sort of remix, though to winter it was so much more than that. She looked like she was nervous but if Xeno would do the popcorn version with her it would make her more comfortable, and really happy!

She continued to listen as more people around began to join in and sing along to the amazing music played by a boy with an interesting instrument, she nudged Xenos arm with a look of plee. Now c'mon who could say no to puppy eyes?! After he would respond she would practically jump out if her seat in excitement, waiting for Xeno to start it off and then she would soon come into it with her own voice! Taking a deep breath in attempt to calm herself, she had looked at all the people around the campfire, letting out a tiny sigh of relief, she had people here that she knew, many people from her house, others she swore to have seen in the halls and most importantly her childhood best friend Xeno!

(SECOND PART: Roleplaying as xeno)
Xeno grabbed the drinks for both him and his friend winter, trying to hold them steady as he was pretty much dragged to a seating area, by the campfire. He smiled as he heard the music, it was truly amazing. Setting the drinks on the floor in front of them he sat up straight before slumping over just a bit. He noticed how excited winter was with the way she was looking into his soul as he peered over at him. He raised an eyebrow, confused by the way she was acting.

Winter then looked at him like a tiny puppy begging for a treat. But she hadn't been begging for a treat, but instead to do her favorite type of duo singing, popcorning. He shrugged at first, wondering if it was a good idea. She looked so happy and he refused to make his friend upset so he agreed. He smiled as her face lit up with joy, her arm nudging against him as the music once again started and others were beginning to sing. It was always him who started the singing and so once again he would do so. Guess 'ladies first' doesn't count to winter-

He let out a sigh and cleared his throat, preparing to sing. He thought of many ways to start, after all the idea of popcorning was to come up with random songs to fit the beat, then add onto songs that fit the end of the previous song. He shook his head after thinking of one that fit perfectly to the beat. And it wasn't too long after that he took his opportunity to begin singing! Waiting on winter to return another song right back to his, both of their wonderful voices filling the ears of the all the others around the fire.

Santario gave Flash a smile as he joined the group and then listened to Kaz's explanation of the instrument in his hand. It was interesting, and she always loved learning more about cultures that she knew nothing about, even if it was only picked up here and there on occasion. Then, however, the boy decided to play it a little dirty even if he was polite. A small wave would be given to Ruka as he entered the space, noting to compliment his shoes later. A smile started forming on her lips with a soft chuckle. “Well, I suppose if a god is asking, how could I deny you? I will politely wait my turn, though.”

Then a presence sat next to her, and Santario instinctually and visibly tensed. Turning to look at who had sat next to her as his familiar voice hit her ears. Upon recognizing who it was, she relaxed again, she was too high-strung for her own good, and if Hogwarts didn’t kill her, a heart attack probably would. “I- Well… A little, I guess.” A lie as she subconsciously pulled her orange sleeves over her hands. At least three people there knew it was a lie. Not, perhaps, an intentional lie, but she had been caught by a handful of people humming or singing softly to herself on occasion in the common room, Ruka had caught her in the rehearsal room, and anyone who was a part of the frog choir or who had seen them perform knew Santario sang and according to her peers did so quite well.

Aleksander was a cabin mate and someone who she had seen far more of these few weeks than she thought she would. For the most part, he seemed to be everywhere she was, and San was not sure if she should be flattered or suspicious. After all, her track record with Durmstrang boys was not precisely good; in fact, she seemed to have a knack for pissing them off. Not this one, though, no this one seemed different, and she couldn’t quite put her finger on it. His next question made her blush; yes, that’s right, someone has finally managed to make Santario blush out of something other than embarrassment or anger.

“I-I would not say that.” She looked away from him as other people joined the group and started with their own songs. A distraction off of her, but it would not last. She would respectfully wait for everyone to have their turn and clap softly after each performance.

“Kaz, I’m not sure if you know Dream a Little Dream of Me, by Ella Fitzgerald? If you do, feel free to play along; just slow the tempo down a little. It has been stuck in my head since my grandfather took me to the train station.”

Santario took a deep breath and closed her eyes, centering herself and blocking out all of the people that might be staring at her, especially the one right next to her. A small vocalization would start the song to get her mezzo-soprano voice in the lower range, and then she would begin.

“ Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you"
Birds singing in the sycamore trees
Dream a little dream of me

Say "Night-ie night" and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear
Just saying this

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

(Vocalizations)

Stars fading but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear
Just saying this
Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Gotta keep dreaming, leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me”

Once finished Santario would open her eyes once more with a a bit of a sheepish smile.
