I got a new cat two days ago, July 18th, her name is a Athena and she is a 8 month old muted tortoiseshell.
We already had three dogs and another cat, and this poor baby back in April had a litter of five kittens.
She was struggling extremely when she first got here, she was a human lover but wasn’t too excited about the other animals. She was clearly anxious, not aggressive or terrified, just anxious.
Monday afternoon, while I was doing my preparation coarse for a test to allow me to skip a grade in mathematics, I brought her into the office. She ate, drank water, and slowly came out from the corner she was hiding in.
When I went to check on her later that night, she had gone to the bathroom for the first time in my care and she was waiting at the door instead of behind the toilet poking her head around.
Just a few minutes ago, she jumped off my bed, unprompted, and started playing with a toy.
She’s making such huge headway here and I am loving her, Piper, my other cat who’s a grey tabby, isn’t too sure about her but Athena is slowly calming down.

I just thought I’d share this because I thought it could make someone a bit happier while also making myself happier.
Also so I don’t take up too much space here I thought I’d put it in reducio since I wrote over 200 words.
