Evening, 1st of August
Following the long train journey, students finally arrived at Hogwarts. They were escorted directly to the Campgrounds and registered again. It was, at this stage that they were given the rules for the month. These were pretty obvious but they were stated again by Professor Jensen, simply because she did not trust students to listen. She also wanted to be sure that the visiting students had no excuse of being 'unaware' of the rules. Where necessary, the accompanying adults from each of the schools would repeat the rules in their school's language for people who didn't have English as their first language.

Camp rules were very simple. Obey the curfew, follow usual school rules, don't wander off into the forest, don't be a giant jerk - you know, all of the usual things. Failure to comply would result in a detention, or worse, banned from attending future camps.

Eight log cabins provided lodging for campers, each one with a beast-bearing flag for which they were named. Three were the Avian cabins: Augurey, Occamy, and Phoenix. Across from these were the three Equine cabins: Thestral, Kelpie, and Unicorn. At either end were two cabins intended for adults only but for this year's festivities repurposed for student use: the Hippogriff and Dragon cabins. Those creatures occupying the enchanted flags mutely flexed in a constant show of "friendly" competition: beating wings, clacking beaks, stamping hooves, and soundlessly tossing their heads.

Every structure appeared deceptively humble in size on the outside, while the interiors were enlarged by extension charms, making them wide beyond means and quite comfortable. These were fully furnished with curtained bunks, personal chests, dressers, wood-burning stoves, and plush floor rugs. The layouts were strikingly similar to the dorm rooms back at the castle. Rather than having House themes, however, they featured nuances of the beast on their flag.

During registration, they also all received their cabin allocations. Students were then escorted to the cabins by an adult and given some time to put their bags down, secure themselves a bed and settle into the accommodation that they would be staying at for the month. The official feast was being set up and would start in about an hour. After which, they could attend the first campfire of the month if they wish to. Of course, they could just return to the cabins whenever they wanted to rest.

The group of students that arrived here would be the members of the Occamy Cabin.

Occamy

The brightest and most 'modern' appearing cabin, clean lines and white walls. The furnishings are brightly coloured - deep purples and bright teals. The light fixtures look modern, but in truth, the shades hide several brightly burning candles. [Image Link]. There are no precocious silver eggs to protect, a true academic in this setting the house protects their books which they proudly display. The books describe a number of mundane and fascinating subjects, however, students need to act quickly if they wish to steal a book from the wall. A child that is too slow will find a dozen or so ribbon bookmarks reach out for them and attempt to tether them (or simply tie them up) in place. They would require the rescue of their peers. (No, the ribbons will not cause any harm). One would think that students would simply leave the books alone at this point but far too prideful and upperclassmen too humoured to warn the lowerclassmen, it is almost a right of passage for first-time dwellers to make this mistake.

The sleeping quarters is as the youngsters would say "extra" [Image Link]. While the beds themselves appeared rather humble, the walls perhaps even plain, there was a large communal space in the centre of a large room. Many nights the students would forego their bunks and sleep in the heart of the room on oversize beanbag pillows or spend the night chatting.

Hogwarts Summer Camp. An event unlike any other. Each year was always different and this year was no exception. They were sorted into cabins based on.. who knows what? Annie shrugged off her small suitcase full of stuff. After visiting her parents for a short amount of time she jumped on the first train back she could and here she was.

The question was if this was the right one? She had already tried another cabin and got thrown backwards on her butt in the grass. Oh what a sight that must've been. The only thing bad about camp was that everything was spread out and there were no walls to rely on. Perhaps someone in their cabin would be her part-time service dog helper for the summer. Although she wouldn't know anyone in her cabin until they introduced themselves upon arrival. Annie attempted to step in and didn't get rejected this time. The first thing she did run into was a book shelf before she stabilized herself. No noise what so ever. Was she the first one again? Last time this happened people walked into the tent when she was dozing on a beanbag pillow.

Speaking of.. Her feet led her to another room and this time she had no reaction time to stop herself. POOF! Into the beanbag she went. A squeak of surprise escaped her. Thank the stars no one was here yet to see that. She had time to get used to the spacing and not run into every little thing. Next her fingers felt around and grasped a pillow. Finally the sleeping area! Of course she was choosing a bottom bunk there was no way she was putting herself in more danger on the higher bunks.

With a happy sigh she plopped her trunk next to the bed to show her "claim" and bounced on the bed which was surprisingly soft. If it had been a brick her knees would have been destroyed so she sent a silent prayer to the sky. Her mind raced with excitement, already plotting out her summer. She'd wait until some people came in, maybe new faces, maybe familiar ones. She wouldn't be able to tell anyways but eh.. Nothing to do while waiting, how about a nap? Oh yeah, that was a good idea. Hopefully she didn't drool or snore.. or worse, both. The brunette closed her eyes, getting ready to doze off and wake up to make a fool of herself and stumble around the room as her cabin-mates came in.

Alice had decided to go to summer camp, much to the chagrin of her younger brother, who clung to her leg all the way to the Hogwarts Express. She was practically vibrating with excitement the entire time on the train there. She had even brought a new notebook for the occasion to write down all of her new friend's favorite things. That's the only time Alice would willingly write, to be honest. She usually hated it.

Actually getting to camp was kind of blur. She remembered being assigned her cabin, and being extremely dissapointed in the fact that she wasn't assigned to dragon cabin. Come on! Dragons were her favorite! How could she not be in the dragon cabin! She guessed Occamy was fine, though. She only barely knew what an occamy was but she thought it was dragonlike? Maybe. She didn't actually remember. She also didn't remember much else of the registration, because she was too busy staring at everything! She was so excited she was almost a little overwhelmed, but that wasn't gonna stop her! As soon as she got into the occamy cabin, the scrambled up to get a top bunk, because top bunks were the coolest!

After she got all of her things put away and her notebook tucked in her cardigan pocket, she peeked her head out from behind the bunk curtain and looked at the bunk below her. Hm. New friend? "Hello!" She said cheerfully, almost falling off of her bunk. Whoops! She readjusted to make sure she wouldn't fall off and break her neck on her first day. That would be pretty bad. She wouldn't even get to play quidditch!

Piérre did remember to sign up for a cabin, just to let that be put on record for all eternity. One thing he had managed to pull himself together to do in the midst of chaos. If memory serves, his twin had done the same, and was now in a cabin of his own. Hopefully in Piérre's own.

But, standing before the Occamy cabin, as Piérre admired the banner which fluttered in intermittent gusts, he chewed on the inside of his cheek nervously. Figaro stretched slightly from his nap around Piérre's neck and spread his paw beans to press on the Britalian's cheek. His brother had been doing this for a while now. A small nervous tic had developed whenever something exciting was going to happen. Very unlike the boy from a few years ago, though the Bengal was sure that the hyperactive boy would come back out of his shell upon heading inside the cabin.

All it took was a step.

A shaky breath and a tightening of his hand on his luggage, and Piérre buried his nose in his cat's fur. “Okay Figgy. I'm going. Let's go.” And he grinned at the door brightly... Without taking a step inside.

He could feel his heart racing the longer that he awkwardly stood there. It was so devilishly easy. Just... Walk in. Nothing else to it except to open the door and walk in. He didn't even have to interface with the rest of the people in his cabin-- Although he would like to-- for the rest of the month, he just needed to go inside to begin with and fins a place to put his stuff, claim his bed, and watch the inevitable light show that each and every one of his encounters with large groups of people seemed to have for a staple.

The silver Figaro, tired of Piérre's balking, leapt down with a small "Prrrr-ow!" and trotted to the door with half-open eyes, turning around to look at Piérre and then sitting, closing his eyes entirely. Whether his brother liked it or not, he was going to go inside and say hello to the people.

Gingerly, Piérre walked forward and opened the door, allowing Figaro to sprint right in and look around the environment. As the boy tried to force himself and the luggage through the door, the kitten was making his attempted sneaky rounds to both of the people he could just barely catch a whiff of in the dorms of the cabin already, the girl on the bed and the girl who was too high off the ground to pick up a good scent on yet.
Cat's Grace Roll: 39
Not hidden
He would attract the attention of both with a small "Mew!". Trying to catch the attention of the one on the upper bunk (Alice) would of course be picked up by the keenly trained ears of the girl on the bottom (Annie). Not much the Bengal could do about that, but the cat had discovered as a fact that most people liked cats. They would likely be alright with the intrusion.

And if not...

Meanwhile, Piérre had hastily thrown his things on an upper bunk of his own in the boy's side of the cabin. He returned to the main area and sat stretched out on one of the modern couches in the vicinity. In his hands, he messed with a small fidget cube that he had drawn from his black pants pocket. A scarlet turtleneck with golden pattern denoted a lion's pride, but rest assured, the colors from all the other houses were neatly stowed away in the boy's suitcase to be used for another day.

So... He sat. Keeping a half-eye on the door and focusing mostly on the fidget cube in both hands. Click, click, clickclickclickclickclick, click, cl-ick, clickclick.

Hey, if it calmed the boy down, Piérre called it effective. He could hear some talking in the background, but wasn't quite sure where it was coming from. Yet.
As more people come in, Piérre has his Calming Presence ACTIVE for everyone in his cabin as his Allies.

Her eyes had been closed only momentarily before a shuffle of feet were heard. She quickly sat up trying to make herself presentable. A small thump in the mattress above her had told her the new person decided to be her bunk bed buddy. Out of all the other available beds.. Ah well. The voice greeted her, a soft yet cheery female tone. Perhaps a younger student. It wasn't a familiar voice but it was reassuring that at least someone in the cabin would be nice.

"Ah- hey I'm Annie Morgan, 4th year, Keeper for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team and a Prefect. Welcome to summer camp!" Instead of being awkward all summer, why not try to open up and be nice? She let a small smile slip on her face as she tilted her head up, her cloudy gaze seeing nothing but darkness like usual. Hopefully she didn't look creepy, tilting her head and smiling up at the.. well probably the ceiling instead of her face. She was about to ask for her name before another noise startled her.

The sound of.. paws? Her face contorted into one of confusion before a "mew" was heard rather closer to her seated position. The brunette nearly jumped up in the air but missed the top of the bunk luckily. Cats were.. scary when you were blind. Especially if they were quiet. Luckily she got a noise in advanced but still a furry thing brushing against anyone's legs is terrifying. "Ah! Hello kitty." She cooed to the furry creature before remembering she forgot to let Eiryk out.

The girl sprung up from her seated position and found her way to her luggage, although a bit awkwardly. A small hoot was heard as he sat in his cage expectantly waiting. She fiddled with the cage before finding the latch and opening it. He happily strode out and made himself comfy on the extra pillow on the bed. Annie, being too nice or perhaps too lazy to scold him, let her owl sit there and close his eyes, ready to take a nap. She'd find her way over to a bean bag chair instead of her bed so she could hear more people coming in and out.

She just realized she hadn't met the owner of the cat. Perhaps they were the silent type? She shrugged. Well they could have heard her overdramatic name announcement to the girl who said hello to her. Annie yawned and sat back in the bean bag chair, her leg drumming in anticipation. Bring in the rest of her cabinmates. Let the summer adventures begin!

She honestly didn't even notice the other looking up at the ceiling, and even if she had, it would have been fine. A huge grin spread across her face when the other mentioned playing quidditch. "Oh wow, you play quidditch! That's so cool! I love quidditch. I'm hoping to be a beater for whatever house I end up in. I'm a first year." She narrated, before remembering that she forgot to actually introduce herself to her new friend. "My name is Alice, by the way! Alice Grimmshaw! It's very nice to meet you!" She was now hanging upside down from her bed, kind of like how a child would hang upside down from monkey bars.

This position didn't last long, however, as she spotted the cat approaching. She had interacted with some of the stray cats that occasionally wandered onto the Grimmshaw estate, plus one of her friends back home had a cat, so she was quite comfortable around them. "Hi kitty," she cooed, coming down from her bunk, a little less rambunctiously than usual so as not to startle this new feline friend. She sat on the ground and stuck her hand out towards the cat, her green eyes tracking where it came from and landing on another person, whom she assumed was the owner of the cat. She waved with the hand that wasn't currently extended towards the animal. "Hello!" she called.

If Piérre looked, he would see a rather tall first year sitting on the floor, with choppy brown hair and big round glasses, dressed in a blue shirt, blue cardigan, and black jean-shorts, with a color-blocked pink and blue scarf wrapped around her neck. A bit of an odd outfit for so far into the summer, but Alice knew what she was about. There were colorful plasters decorating her legs and arms, and whether they were hiding actual cuts and scraped from playing outside or of they were just for show was for her only to know.

──────────▪ FELIXKOLBECK ▪──────────

Before attending summer camp at Hogwarts, Durmstrang student Felix Kolbeck had lodged in his family’s vacation home in Brighton for the month of July. He had already spent all year in Sweden. Why would he want to spend his summer there as well? Besides, even a month with his family was too much. Their constant bickering over menial things lost its charm rather quickly. Being able to escape them an entire month early had been Felix’s pleasure.

The train ride from King’s Cross to the Scotland Highlands was at least scenic, but a certain interaction had left him in a sour mood. He had traveled to England to escape exhausting schoolmates, but it seemed many of them had the same idea. He would have to separate himself... Somehow. Felix had never been the best at... Social interactions. He was blunt and to the point, and didn’t like to dwell on dramatics. Because of this, it was sometimes difficult for him to make friends. Perhaps today that could change. If anyone piqued his interest, that was.

The Hogwarts castle looked rather impressive, but unfortunately it would not be his home for the next month. He was, instead, directed to follow an adult named Kit Paine towards his cabin. Did he trust a person named after one of the worst sensations? No, but he didn’t complain as he followed him into the dwelling. It was larger on the inside, which didn’t surprise him. As a pureblood, Felix was more than used to such enhancements. The cabin was modernly decorated and a bit too bright for his liking. Not shocking considering he was currently dressed in all black, complete with a leather jacket. Which he was wearing in summer. In August. The bookshelves were noted with appreciation, although he had brought his own in the dark leather trunk he currently rolled behind him. As for bunks, Felix selected the bunk furthest away from the others. He shoved his trunk inside the bottom bunk to claim it. He was a tall for his age, but had no interest in climbing over strangers to get to the top bunk. He’d let the louts fight over them.

He ran a hand through his platinum — almost white — hair before crossing his arms over his chest. Ice-blue eyes silently took in his surroundings. There was an older girl already making herself comfortable in her bunk (Annie Morgan), a girl perched on the top bunk peering down at her (Alice Grimmshaw), and a boy with a cat sidekick (Piérre Marchonné) that Felix prayed would not venture his way. If it did, he’d have to pet it and reveal his weakness; cute animals. He frowned, sitting back down on his bunk. He would wait and observe... For now.

Summer Camp, a reason to come back to Hogwarts early, how could Haley say no to this? Of course, she had signed up for it right away and couldn't wait. It was her second year at Hogwarts and as much as she had enjoyed the time at home with her family and friends, she couldn't wait to be back. But today was the day and with quick strides she heaved her suitcase with her across the campgrounds to her cabin - Occamy. She didn't know who she would meet there, whether she knew anyone or not, but really she didn't care. Meeting a few new people couldn't hurt. If she had bought it right, then the students from the other schools would also attend, which was a good chance to make some more contacts, after she had not done so yet.

But she was looking forward not only to Hogwarts, but also to distraction. She hoped she could finally forget what had happened and get her mind off things here. Full of drive, she took the few steps up to the door and opened it. But her drive was a bit too much, she hit her suitcase against the frame of the door, which bounced back against her legs and finally caused her to fall. She landed on her belly in the entryway and embarrassed, she raised her eyes hoping she was the first. Needless to say, this was not the case.

She was embarrassed but she also had to laugh at herself. Shaking her head, she stood up and patted her clothes off. "Well, welcome back." She continued to laugh and set her suitcase down before releasing her grip. If she was going to have to highlight her arrival so spectacularly, she was going to have to do it right. She looked around once, all unfamiliar faces except for Piérre. Her gaze lingered on a boy with hair as blond as she had probably never seen. She looked at the head of hair in awe for a brief moment before quickly moving on and smiling at the two girls on their beds. She cleared her throat, "Hey everyone. I'm Haley." She mimicked holding up an invisible dress and curtsied.

She now picked up her suitcase again and strode over to the girls' beds. She climbed onto one of the top beds, made herself comfortable, and surveyed the cabin that was her home for the next little while.

Outfit (minus the watch and bracelets and rings)
Charles signed up for the Hogwarts summer camp to spend some time and joke around with his friends, he was hoping that he would be sharing a cabin with Drew and Cassie that summer.

Unfortunately they were all in separate cabins which left Charles alone. Not that the blonde was worried, he did feel a bit uncomfortable with being in separate cabins than his friends but there would be other times to see them. Charles was a extrovert and enjoyed meeting new people, he was actually looking forward to making new friends or at least his cabin mates.

The fourth year would approach the cabin and shake his head slightly when he saw it.

Occamy Cabin

Couldn't it at least be named after a cooler creature like the dragon cabin or phoenix cabin..

Charles pulled his Dumstrang trunk behind him with his backpack over his right shoulder only as he pulled the door opened and enter the cabin.

Looking around at the interior and giving a slight frown at the bookshelves that were placed around the room.

Reading? Who would waste their time reading during the summer?

Charles heard voices from the back room and decided to make his way back there. He was dressed in a red hoodie, grey jeans, scuffed up trainers, and a beanie covering part of his blonde curly hair.

The fourth year would step foot into the back room where the numerous bunks laid and found a group that he never seen before minus one.

There was a girl Annie on her bunk, a boy Pierre with a cat apparently and Charles couldn't help a simple shake of the head. The blonde wasn't a fan of cats or any pet in general but kept his comments to himself and hoped the cat would stay away from him for the duration of camp.

Another girl Alice in a strange outfit and then a red head Haley, the group seemed unfamiliar to the blonde do he guessed they were Hogwarts students.

There was a white haired boy whom Charles thought he seen around Dumstrang and choose to the top bunk above him. Offering the boy a half grin as Charles walked toward him and threw his backpack on the top bunk above the kid.

He placed his trunk at the end then Turner back to the others offering the group a half grin as he spoke" I'm Charles, fourth year Dumstrang quidditch player," looking around at the group and determining it was a rather good group if he ignored the cat who the blocked may have been plotting ways to throw out of the cabin.

"My friends call me Charlie," Charles spoke as his British accent overpowered his Russian one. That was what happened during the summer holiday and a few months speaking English, his British accent was bound to be heard a bit more strongly than his Russian one.

Charles took a few steps forward and leaned on the ladder belonging to the bunk of the girl whose eyes looking a bit cloudy as the blonde looked around at his cabin mates.

As soon as she heard about summer camp, Tilly signed up for it. Why not? Another reason to come back to hogwarts. She landed herself in occamy cabin and was thrilled-she loved bright colours, especially purple! It would be a time to make new friends before going to hogwarts, at least it would it would be better than not knowing anyone in September. Today was the day though, and she already felt nervous-what if no one liked her? But now there was no time for worrying, she was only a few steps away from the cabin. She took a deep breath and walked through the door.

There were already people in there- three girls and three boys. There was also a rather fluffy cat cuddled in one of the boys arms. The room was so bright and vibrant- full of purples and greens, it was wonderful. She claimed the bottom bunk under a girl with bright orange hair by dumping her heavy trunk on it. Big mistake. As it was so heavy the springs started creaking. She quickly pulled the trunk of before the bed broke. She thanked God that it didn't break though. What a bad start that would be!

She started looking around at her fellow cabin mates. They all looked friendly enough. There was one girl with short brown hair that looked her age- a first year. Tilly thought that she should get to know her first, to find out what the first year was like at hogwarts. She wondered when dinner was going to start-she was absolutely starving. And very tired. Surely there was time for a nap? Dinner won't be served for a long time anyway. So she got comfy in the bed (the matress was so soft!) and within minutes she was asleep.
