Blossom Ball - Spring Festival
Santario continued to stroll leisurely around the ball, observing the others in their scuffles and fun, and for a moment, a pang of loneliness hit her. As if the costume of the outcast medusa really did fit her, only she had not been turned into a Gorgon because of an overly jealous Artemis who could not handle mortals finding her too attractive. In truth, she just was not great at making friends; once made, she thought she was a good friend, it was getting there that was the problem. She was much better at business arrangements and speaking to officials… Thanks, Grandmother, for only socializing her with all her business associates and teaching her how to talk business. After all… There was not much room for friends in business.Interacting| @Quinn Healy | @Nico Shymane

Lost in her thoughts and observations of the others socializing, she did not notice Quinn enter the area right away. However, once his trajectory turned towards her, Santario’s eyes snapped onto him and the Prefect on his shoulder. They were, in her mind, an outstanding representation of Hades and Persephone. She knew it would not take the half-giant more than a few of his steps to reach her. She still made an effort to meet them. “It is indeed, thank you very much.” She beamed, making her sapphire eyes light up with joy as Quinn adjusted himself and his date. “Yes, it has, but that happens. You and Nico look stunning. I love all the attention to detail in your costumes. I really don’t think anyone else could have pulled off these two better than you guys.”
Santario’s usually stiff demeanor melted away in seconds as she started to relax. “How are you two doing tonight?” She asked, trying to open up more conversation. Thankfully, Quinn was well-versed in Santario not being a fantastic conversation starter, though once she got going, it was hard to shut her up, especially with her friends.

Interacting with @Quinn Healy & @Santario Martin
Open to interactionsReappearing on what would've been the 'surface', Nico sticked close to Quinn. Not that she had any choice as she was practically glued onto Quinn's shoulder. The area of the Spring Festival looked incredibly cosy. There was so much to see. As Quinn was her dark Hades, she was the lover he had stolen away from the land of the living: Persephone. Dressed and draped in a toga that seemed to exist out of two different pieces of cloth; red and white. Sitting ontop of her dark king, the toga would drape down both infront of his chest and on his back. No need to worry. The toga was held onto her upper body with some pretty stern bodytape and some sewing secrets her mother has kept to herself. Her strawberry red hair draped in an ancient romanian manner that was fancy enough for a Goddess of Spring. Some bright flowers and pearls decorating the many corkscrew curls that bounced with ever step Quinn took.
A black spikey crown stood on top of her head. Honestly, Nico felt abit shy about it. She felt like she tried to make herself look superior compared to others. But Quinn had persuaded her in keeping it as it suited her so well. Quite a charmer, that gingerbread child. Finally, she held a woven straw basket, filled with flower petals. Most of them were cherryblossom petals. Wherever they'd go, she would sometimes grab a handful of them, and make them rain down. Maybe on some couples to make their date more special. (It also contained her wand, just in case.) Her feet were bare with some golden ornaments to give a finishing touch to that goddess like look she was going for.
Quinn had always been the smooth talker of the two. Easygoing and fun to talk to. And as tall as he was, people were bound to recognise him. Nico wasn't much in control of where they'd go, and that was fine by her. Allthough, she never knew on time where he was going and why. Before she knew it, Quinn had located a familiar face that they both knew and he was quick about it. With a few (big) strides, he arrived infront of Santario. One of the students that Nico shared a Dorm with. It was quite a pleasant surprise and the outfit she had chosen really suited her ravenblack hair. 'Hello, Santario.'
Nico had thought about sliding down onto Quinns hand to get closer to San, to talk to, as that was polite to do so. But her gingerbread giant had the same idea. Except he just kneeled down. That did the trick aswell. San seemed delighted to see both of them. Was San here by herself?...
The dhampir blushed brightly when the ravengirl complimented their costumes. Nico's parents had done their best for the pair to have a matching outfit and really hoped that they captured the characters. Hearing San speak with such praise, Nico smiled warmly and bashfully looked to her feet. 'Thank you so much. Happy to hear that, actually. You look wonderful aswell. I love your make-up. It really suits you.' Pulling her head back up, the redhead practicly beamed.
'We just came back from the Underworld to come and spend our evening here. It's awfully cosy in here, to be honest.' The dhampir carefully looked around as she spoke. It felt like even now she didn't see everything yet. 'How are you holding up today? Are you alright?'Action : Entering from the Underworld

English #26687E • French #72267E
Charles didn't take long to arrive, a glass of punch in one hand. Cassie grinned at him and held out her own glass in a cheers motion, clinking it against his if he would let her. "The Macarena," she told him merrily, not sure if it had a different name in French so sticking with English. "I think the original lyrics are in Spanish or something, but at primary we always used to do the stupid English version. It's funnier - and more pronouncible, for once thing." She gave a laugh at Charles' new opinion of her dancing skills. "You didn't say that in October!" she half-joked, reminding him of his attempt to teach her to ballroom dance at the autumn ball. "But yes, I'm sure I'm quite the master at the Macarena." Cassie's eyes sparkled as she took a little bow.
"I guess so," Cassie agreed when Charles mentioned the results of the trials. "I wonder when they'll announce the King and Queen?" Cassie dipped her bread into the punch again before taking a bite. "Hey, which trial was your favourite? I loved the Apollo one, and the Hecate one sucked, and the Orpheus one..." she trailed off, remembering her own experience of the Orpheus trial. Her family and friends had seemingly appeared behind her, all pushing her to enter a broom race which could decide her future. If she'd won a race like that, no-one would have been able to say anything mean to her again... Cassie was shocked at the thought. What? Cassie Heather didn't care about mean comments! She could just ignore them - they didn't matter! Then why did the idea of no-one making them anymore sound so enticing? Cassie squinted at her feet and took another angry bite of punch-soaked bread. Maybe... maybe she'd always felt a little out of place in the wizarding world. She'd tried to make 'out of place' a good thing for her, gone out of her way to stand out, but maybe... maybe she'd known that no-one would be able to question her place in this strange world of magic if she really rose to the top of it. Cassie realised that she was clutching the stem of her goblet so hard that her knuckles were white and forced herself to relax her grip. "You were in mine..." she said softly, staring at the punch. "You and Scarlett and my parents and my cousins. It was really creepy. There was a broom race... I'll tell you about it later." Now wasn't the time for this, not really. Cassie wasn't one for suppressing emotion, but putting them off was something she could do. "What did you get? Let me guess. Winning some fancy Quidditch match? Or- or your parents? Or your brother? I know you used to be close."
Cassie shrugged at the welcome change of subject. "We should totally start a congo line." She looked around at the dancing ballgoers and finished the last bite bread before draining her glass of punch and putting it down. "Not now, though. You wanna dance?" At the last ball in October, Cassie hadn't been looking forward to dancing, but the music here was definitely something she could vibe with. All they needed now was a about of YMCA to really bring on the nostalgia.
If Charles agreed, Cassie would head out onto the dance floor, bopping along to the beat as she did so. Then, she turned to Charles. "Okay. So basically we see how many spins we can do before we bump heads and/or get so dizzy we both fall over." She grabbed both of his hands and spun around through them, pushing Charles to do so too if he didn't want his arms twisted off.

Blossom Ball - Spring Festival

"Look around, Cass. You would've stood out way more by wearing your uniform," Maddie replied with an equally playful roll of her eyes. Her own grin morphed to a genuine smile as her friend talked about moving on to the next place. Excellent. Hopefully the other area was happier than this Underworld-themed one.Regular Text - English | Bolded Text - French | Bolded Black Text - Japanese

The two Beauxbatons students made their way along a dark path lit by bluebell flames, headed for the Spring Festival side. It was immediately warmer and more inviting, just from the bright lighting that flooded the area. The music that was playing was the kind of music you could casually dance to - not ballroom music, but modern muggle music that some of her friends from home probably liked to listen to. The tunes were catchy, and in English.
Maddie's eyes were drawn to the elaborate tables lining the edge of the dance. They were piled with food and drink. The twelve-year-old already had a decent dinner that evening and wasn't parched yet, but she was still tempted to partake. It all looked amazing. Maybe later, when she needed to refuel. There were also lots of flowers decorating the tables, and-
"Oh, look! There are flower crowns," Maddie was delighted by this revelation. It was now her turn to lead Cassanora, this time to one of the refreshments tables where there was a stack of flower crowns for the taking. "They're cute," she said, her voice carrying a tone of approval. She didn't want to wear one since she already had a hair accessory on, but she did touch the leaves on some of them. It seemed they were real.
After spending another quick moment admiring the table spread more closely, Maddie finally turned her attention to the dance floor and the other people around. Was that- Was that a boy in his underwear? She averted her brown eyes immediately, and they landed on a figure that towered over the rest of the students here. A really tall adult? That didn't seem quite accurate. The sight felt familiar, but her eyes soon turned back to Cassanora. Even though there were a lot of weird and interesting characters around, she beamed at her friend.
"This place is better," she said, clearly relieved. "It feels more casual than the last ball they held... I like it, but maybe they should change the name to the Blossom Dance, since there's no ballroom?" She found it more natural to express that sentiment in French. "Do you think your father and Nora will come?"
Maddie's head turned when she noticed a familiar face - Cassie, a girl from her and Cassanora's year at Beauxbatons - leaving the refreshments area to go do a silly spin with her friend on the dance floor. The music at this dance was a lot less ballroom dance and more fun dance. Maddie could get along with just about any music, and she knew this music was more Cass' style too. The thought kept a big smile on Maddie's face as she looked back at her best friend, knowing that she would drag her onto the dance floor if she really had to. But given the style, Cass might actually go willingly.

Blossom Ball - Spring Festival
She had been pretty excited since the flyers came up now it was here. She had done her hair five times just to get it right. She had a skinny navy blue dress that barely swept the floor, her hair was in a braided bun, and she was wearing medium heals. She put on the phoenix bracelet her brother had given to her. Then grabbed her light blue shoulder bag and went out the door.
She walked towards the woods to the pond. Many dangerous things have happened by the pond but she hoped nothing would happen today. She knew she had to get back in a few min so she decided to walk back, but she walked slowly through the woods so she could take longer and enjoy this peaceful moment.
When She got out of the woods, she walked over to the grounds where the ball was. She hoped she could meet some new friends, after all she hasn't talked with too many people yet...
When she got closer she saw how many people there were, she decided to go over to the area where there was a few people. She knew who she did want to find but knew she might not see him through all these people...

So far the whole event had been pretty tame, a surprise to be sure but a welcome one. Yet, not everyone had arrived at the ball so things were up in the air. At least the more sane students were in attendance because when the people without screws begin to arrive things were sure to get chaotic. For now, all he could do was wait and spot any indications of trouble brewing, past experience only proved it to be the only option.
On his examination of the room, a few familiar faces had made their way. One of them was Nico, someone who he hadn't spoken to for a while, almost like the same with Santario. Shymane was one of the very few he actually respected in some way, considering all the trouble she went through as prefect of Slytherin. The same could be said for her condition, but the things that happened didn't need to be repeated.
After their talk at the lake, he saw her in a different light. She wasn't a monster that others thought her to be, Nico was simply a girl trying her best with the things she had. That was something to be respected, even if others didn't see it that way.
Beside her was a tall boy he hadn't spoken to before. Sure, he had seen his face a few times around the castle yet he had never had the chance to speak to him. He was almost proud to see her with someone that understood her, at least then someone was going to care and treat her as any other person.
Downing the rest of his cold drink he placed the empty cup on the table and carefully approached, making sure his suit was respectable along the way. Upon arrival, he stood to the left of Santario and looked over to Nico, a small nod going over to her "Long time no see Nico, I see you're doing well for yourself" he said, before looking up to the towering figure above them. It was clear the older boy was a half giant, or a product of a weird human experiment to be that tall "Pleasure to meet you..." Percy said with a slight smirk as he turned his attention to Santario, who was sure to be as grumpy as ever "Hello Santario, it's good seeing you again after the mess of a ball last year. Hopefully something smaller than bloated bee's will attack us this time" he said sarcastically, while in the meantime keeping his belief of another attack

Blossom Ball - Spring Festival
Banner by Winnie Harper
Winnie had just agreed to dance with him and Jack grinned widely. "Wonderful! We can be the first ones to dance. Let's go!" It was then he was briefly distracted by the girl telling him he smelled good; like the pages of a book. His grin became an awkward little smile. "Um...thank you...?" Was he supposed to comment on her smell? Though last he'd checked, not just anyone allowed someone else close enough to smell them. Was it an indirect invitation for him to smell her, then...? He couldn't help imagining she probably smelled like flowers and perfume considering her ball gown...
Oh, Nicholas was saying something to him. Jack raised his head, even as the Gryffindor boy made his excuses about going to get a drink. "Hopefully this experience won't ruin your idea of future balls!" he called after the lion with a laugh, knowing that nearly every first year's first ball was bound to be overwhelming and his own group must not have helped. With luck, they wouldn't have discouraged Nicholas from attending balls or other Hogwarts events in the future. At least nothing truly disasterous had seemed to have occured at this one...yet.
And then Ruka was dragging him aside, telling him he needed to talk to him alone first before he went off to the dance floor with Winnie. Jack blinked but didn't resist as his wrist was grabbed. "Uh...I supposed I'll see you in a little bit, then, Winnie," he told her with a cheery demeanor, allowing his brother to pull him away yet again.
When the fire-dancer offered his torch, Jack raised a brow wordlessly, but took hold of it anyway. He still felt a little bitter thinking that he and Ruka's father hadn't been Ruka's only fire-dancing partners and that Dealla might have learned that move too, but he kept the thoughts to himself. It seemed the green-eyed Gryffindor had something else to discuss just then.
"What?!" he asked, flushing bright red when asked if he enjoyed playing 'fake boyfriend'. "No, of course I don't! What are you talking about? I'm not playing anyone's boyfriend!" He stomped his hoof angrily, rather liking the effect of its hard resin clack on the stone floor. "Are you...do you mean Winnie? Pffft." He waved a hand free of the torch dismissively. "There's no way she sees me like that! We only just met!" He made a face at Ruka. "Is this why you've been acting so weird? Quit being ridiculous."

"That's right." Winnie nodded, a small smile playing on her face. She wasn't aware of how awkward her comment likely was. "I think you can tell a lot about a person through their scent." She explained, her face still flushed as she gazed up at the older boy. "A-And smelling like books is a good thing... Whenever I get a new book, the first thing I do is smell the pages."
It would seem that her fairytale moment was doomed from the beginning. Just as Winnie had cozied up to the ever charming Mr. Pan, he was take from her arms by none other than her personal hero, as if this were some kind of strange twist of fate. Ruka's smile was at least sweet in nature, and she still admired him, so how could she protest his sudden intrusion? She simply could not. His influence was perhaps the only thing that would get her away from Jack, as she had already told herself she would do anything he wanted. "Oh, did you two have a dance planned? I'm sorry..." She was unable to mask the disappointment in her voice as her dancing partner was stolen from her. She very reluctantly let go of the Slytherin boy's arm and allowed him to be pulled away by his brother. She was then asked to stay with 'Kaz' and keep him company.
"Just stay here a moment." Ruka had told her.
Winnie instantly nodded, as if she were a puppy being told a command by it's master, a comparison she had only just gotten angry at Mathias Pride for making moments earlier. She was so caught up in watching the two boys walk away that she happened to miss Kazuo's rather eerie smile. "Oh, of course." She nodded, her attention switching over to the boy and Mathias Pride, who was now in his knickers and gagged. "... Perhaps if Pride shows me how sorry he is, I could help him out of that gag?" She couldn't help but suggest, a playful smirk curving onto her lips before she focused on Kazuo again. "I appreciate you keeping me company as well, Mr. Shimada, especially give the important role you played in creating this ball." No doubt his company was in high demand that day. As if to confirm as much, an older girl from her house had come over and... Draped herself over Kazuo. Even Winnie felt awkward for the boy, her eyes blinking over at her in surprise.
It also became evident that this girl was definitely unwelcomed company when the ever beautiful Dee returned from the trials and asked the girl why she was holding onto her date. Winnie's eyes flickered between the two girls, widening at the older girl's response. "Hey!" She suddenly squeaked, her brows knitting together as her smile faded into a small frown. "Mr. Shimada is Dee's date. It's not very nice of you to touch someone without their permission." As if she were one to talk.Action: Being a good Winnie.

Ruka was so caught up in everything going on around him that the familiar voice crossing his mind startled him for a moment, but it only took a moment for him to face Kazuo with a helpless expression on his face and a shrug to emphasise his own confusion. He didn't even know what to say - Winnie was convinced he saved her life, no matter how much he insisted on just having helped her off the ground, but how was he supposed to quickly explain that to the other boy? It seemed much more informative to just pull his eyebrows together in a thoroughly concerned expression.
Kazuo's attention swerved to Jack a moment later anyway, and Ruka was relieved to know that he wasn't the only one concerned by his brother's lack of acknowledgment for Winnie's very obvious feelings. With a grateful nod, Ruka chanced a smile at Kazuo when the other boy seemed to pick up and follow up on his request for him to keep an eye on Winnie for a while almost immediately, allowing Ruka to drag his brother away from their group without being followed.
The outstretched torch was accepted, though it seemed with some reluctance. Ruka was unsure if that was because Jack was bothered by having been pulled away from his dance partner, or if there was something else bothering about it. Maybe he just didn't really feel like doing a choreography, or getting his furred costume close to flames after Ruka had already set someone else's outfit on fire. Either way, Jack accepted and Ruka had more urgent things to address anyway, even if his brother seemed to think his concerns to be silly at best.
Blinking in disbelief, Ruka watched Jack stomp one of his hooves on the ground, and he half expected him to start bleating.
"Are you really that oblivious?" he asked, shaking his head, features contorting with concern. How could someone so smart be such an idiot when it came to other people's emotions sometimes? "Jack, she declared her love for you back there. She's swooning over you, her pupils are heart-shaped." He carefully twirled the torch between their hands and reached for Jack's wrist to be able to guide him backwards in a semi-circle. "You're so careless with people's emotions sometimes, don't you realise that?" Probably not. He'd be getting himself and others into a lot less trouble if he did. "Unless you're planning on actually dating her anytime soon, stop giving her so much hope! That's..." He stopped himself, stepped a little closer so he could lower his voice into a genuinely concerned whisper. "I don't want anybody else ending up on a cutting board because you let people live in a fantasy you can't commit to. Who's next on the list of people getting hurt by someone you accidentally scorned? Kaz? Me?" He took a deep breath and squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, let go of Jack's wrist to rub the bridge of his nose. "I'm tired of people getting hurt, so I need you to open your eyes and realise that that girl is head over heels for you, before you can start dating her by accident."

Dee's return was delightfully well-timed though the amusement in her voice rankled a bit at first. Couldn’t she see that he was not okay? Well .. probably not if he gave it some thought. And with a bit more thought he had to admit that the situation was a bit funny. He turned away from Lavinia, giving Dee a smirk. "Lovely Aphrodite, there is nothing in the world that can replace you." He continued with the Greek theme, finding it easier to speak the somewhat cheesy lines to Dee, knowing she wouldn't take it seriously. "I didn't know I was so popular, either. Must be the outfit. Nothing more attractive than a man in a skirt, am I right?" He was joking of course, well aware that he hardly qualified to use the word man. He was, after all, a skinny twelve year old with only the shadowy potential of what he might be hidden beneath the chiton.
His attention was recaptured by Lavinia when she responded to his introduction of himself as Apollo. Her response was… something.
Of course your Apollo because you light up my heart
So bad. He couldn't even keep a straight face. He tried so hard but his lips twitched upward of their own volition and the start of a giggle snuck past his lips. As he tried to frame a response things went very rapidly from awkward to awful.
Well I’m in love with him of course and I would prefer if you left, Dee.
In love with him… Things clicked into place. Ohhhhh. Oh no. How? He didn't even know this girl. This was unexpected. As Lavinia grabbed his hand and attempted to pull him away, he dug in his heels, refusing her attempt to drag him. He took a silent moment to consider his options and how best to respond to the situation. That was when the puppygirl decided to add her commentary. He arched a brow at Winnie then pointedly spoke. "Glass houses. Stones."
Then he gave Lavinia a smile that was so well practiced, it took barely any effort at all. It was a mask of politeness, a study in political and social behaviour. "Lavinia, you seem like a lovely girl but I must confess to you that I cannot love you. You see, I am of an old clan and there are expectations. My wife has already been chosen for me. She is a lovely girl from a proper family, waiting for me back home in Tokyo."
It was not the truth but it was believable and that is why the lie worked. A defense against the unwanted affections of strange girls that generally tended to work. He wasn't sure how a potion addled girl would respond but he was hoping for the best result even if he suspected he might end up with the worst.
