It's Just the Two of Us Now
Closed to interactions. These letters are from Winnie's parents.
It wasn't unusual for Winnie's mother to write her weekly, so when an owl swooped overhead and almost dropped a letter into her bowl of cereal, she thought nothing of it. What was odd, however, was that across the envelopes face, her mother had written, 'Please open after classes'. Weird... Why did she have to open it after classes? Was there something inside that would distract her? Well... Mission accomplished. She was successfully distracted throughout the entire day and could hardly pay attention in class. She had practically run up the moving staircases and towards the Ravenclaw tower. Finally, she was laying in her bed and she could pull the letter out of her bag. She blinked in surprise when her mother's stationary slid out of the envelope, along with another envelope addressed to her in her father's handwriting.

My Dearest Winnie,
It is with a heavy heart that I compose this letter, my sweet, but I knew it was about time I put pen to paper and wrote you. Usually, I would want to speak face to face to tell you this, but because you are away at school, I'm afraid I cannot. I also did not wish for you to return home unaware of the current situation.
Your father and I have decided that we should no longer be together. He believes We believe it would be best for all of us if he found a new place to live. We're very sorry, flower, but please know that it is not your fault. Sometimes people just fall out of love. We will always love you.
Inside this envelope is a letter that your father has written to you. He wanted me to wait until you returned home from school, but it is not my intention to play by his rules anymore, so you may open it now. Please know that I love you with all my heart, my flower. If you need support, I will find a way to get into that castle, regardless of my magic status. Goodness, how I wish wizards had bloody cellphones.
I love you,
- Mum
Although Winnie could be daft at times, she wasn't entirely stupid; she had seen this coming. She doubted it was a decision made by the two of them. If he had written her a letter and left it there, he had probably disappeared into the night like the giant asshole he was. It didn't surprise her that he had decided to leave after she went to Hogwarts. She stared silently down at his envelope. Her brows furrowed as tears welled in her eyes, and she reached down to snatch the letter up from her bed and rip it open.
Winnie,
I'm very sorry I could never be the father you wanted or deserved. I thought living as a muggle would be a healthy way to raise a child. The wizarding world had always seemed so judgmental that I decided to shut it away, I understand now that I was incorrect.
Magic is a gift, and it should be celebrated. I never had time to truly understand that because I met your mother at such a young age. I never had time to explore the wizarding world before I shut it out of my life. So, that is what I am going to do. I am still young enough to explore the world and meet new people. I need to leave so I can find myself. In knowing my true self, I believe I can help you understand who you are as well. I'm unsure when we will see each other again. I do not want to linger and cause your mother pain. I know you will do great with your studies. I am leaving the farm for you and your mother so you can live a happy life together.
- Dad

She flipped the letter over to see if he had written on the back, perhaps some advice about life before he left his daughter indefinitely? No, of course not. She would not expect anything more than what he had written her. It was a miracle he had even left this for her. Left them the farm? He left the farm because he couldn't be bothered to be responsible for it anymore. He could have easily explored the world with his wife too. All Winnie read were a bunch of excuses that tried to pass the blame onto someone else. She shoved the letter into the back of her trunk and screamed before grabbing a quill and parchment.

Dear Mum,
As long as I have you, I'll be fine. I love you. We will see each other soon.
We don't need him.
We don't.
Love,
Winnie
