Group D: Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw
Tagging @Phaedra Stavrou @Rose Moon @Eyre ReevesCade grinned as the fiery spell ejected from his wand but the expression was easily whipped away when it completely missed the Gryffindors. Just his luck, as he managed to finally cast a spell, it just so happens they danced out of the way! Cade was lucky that Phaedra was his partner, without her skill, Cade would assume he'd be in the same boat as Eyre. Cade would laugh as the older Ravenclaw whispered to him. "I reckon you could stand right next to them this round and their spells won't hit!" The first year replied in a hushed undertone. Giving Phae one last smile, Cade got ready for the next round of spells.

Lady Luck simply wasn't on the Gryffindors' side this time. It was rough, the audience seeing them sustain all the spells their opponents were slinging at them—one spell stronger than the others, almost dazzling in its appearance. Dmitri almost felt a twinge of pity until he remembered that these were his competitors.
And so he grinned as both lions caught on fire, Rose also being forced to dance on top of it. Their misfortune showed itself once more as their retaliating fire met empty air.
As it looked, there seemed to be a dawning victor in the duel, but nothing is done until it's done. Dmitri just hoped to get it over with.

Group D: Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw
Mentioning @Cade Darkbound @Rose Moon @Eyre ReevesHer previous quip to stand still for the second-year duo had been nothing more than a joke, but this was just sad. “Incendio Duo!” Phaedra sent twin flames in their direction and dodged when a Flipendo came flying at her in return. She didn't get to see her spell connect with Rose—only the aftermath—but nodded in approval when Cade's flawless cast took control of her legs. Together, they did quite the damage on her, and the lion pair looked spent, flames climbing up their robes. A few more hits should do it. If the roles were reversed, Gryffindor certainly wouldn't have shown any mercy, so why should they?Doing as strategized (x)

Rose and Eyre were just not feeling it today. Rose would absolutely torture herself about this later. Now not only was she still partially blind, but she was dancing and she was on fire. This fire didn't seem as big as the last time she was on fire, but it still hurt. Maybe the dancing helped? But Rose wasn't in control of her feet anymore, so she doubted she could cast anything at the other team, even though it wouldn't hit anyway.
This was so miserable.

Tagging @Phaedra Stavrou @Rose Moon @Eyre Reeves"Yes!" Cade almost couldn't believe his eyes when he saw not only had his dancing feet spell succeeded, but he'd managed to execute the move flawlessly. On top of Rose's amusing dance moves, Phaedra had managed to cast fire from her wand. Engulfing both Gryffindors immediately in red hot flames. Despite all the success, Cade was starting to feel bored with the match. It was no fun without much competition. It almost felt cruel to finish the opposing team off. They were already so badly damaged. Cade felt even worse when noticing he and Phae hadn't a scratch on themselves.Doing as strategized

ROUND FIVE

The events in this round were so impressive even Dmitri had to raise an eyebrow. The fourth-year Ravenclaw let loose two very powerful Flipendos, that though almost didn't hit one, did what they were there to do.
The audience watched with audible gasps as both Gryffindors were knocked out at the same time. A stray spell flew over their falling bodies, the result of the other Ravenclaw's efforts.
Rose tried to remedy her injuries but Dmitri himself felt bad watching her faint immediately after performing some very excellent spellwork with her Finite.
Raising his wand to his neck and chanting a quick Sonorus, he enunciated clearly, "Ravenclaw wins! Congratulations for your great work and thank you for making it quick." After pulling the wand away from him, he would snap his fingers at the medics in the sidelines. "Can somebody get these half-dead children away from the arena? I have to go."
There were still Viper duels he needed to supervise. His time was precious.
But this was a duel he would not forget.
Considering these students just revealed a lot about their duelling attitude than they probably meant, and Dmitri knew he could benefit from the information, he had a lot to process.
Thank you in more ways than one, indeed.

Group D: Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw
Mentioning @Cade Darkbound @Rose Moon @Eyre Reeves“Flipendo!” And just like that, the grand finale to this spectacle, her wand shot off a luminous flash of blue. Or rather two after splitting in midair, making haste towards the Gryffindors with a vengeance. The lion pair must have been much more alert to their impeding doom this time, because the accuracy of both jets suffered compared to the fourth-year’s previous attempts.
It was still just enough to do the job though, one Flipendo chipping Rose after she endeavored what even Phaedra could admit was a beautifully cast Finite Incantatem. On the other hand, Eyre did nothing before the spell struck him. Understandably. Poor guy hadn’t had a single opportunity to regroup. Surely, it would lead to some awkward exchanges in the Headliner office later.
They slumped to the piste simultaneously beneath a chorus of gasps. Drinking in the audience’s reaction, Phaedra rolled a crick out of her neck, grinning like the cat that got the cream. Beating two second-years was hardly an accomplishment at all—but so quickly? Just five rounds in and both at her own hands? If this wasn’t a redemption from last time, she didn’t know what was.
Bragging was much too crude for her taste. Yet, she itched to convey her utter satisfaction that Ravenclaw had remained unscathed, and for a means to fill in the uncomfortable, pitying silence that permeated among the crowd once the duo was carried away. “Sleep tight,” Phaedra cooed mockingly, sliding her wand into a robe pocket. At the Slytherin Captain’s exit, she took her own by a calculated hop off of the stage, but not before sending a smile Cade’s way.
She’d ride this high for a while.Phaedra leaves thread.
Thank you Dmitri for moderating, Cade for being an awesome teammate, and Rose + Eyre for your participation! Genuinely sorry Tatsu was so hard on you and best of luck in Stage 3.

Group D: Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw
Tagging @Phaedra Stavrou @Rose Moon @Eyre ReevesWell the duel ended faster than the first year initially anticipated. He was quite sure he would make a fool of himself at least once but was quite befuddled as to why that hadn't quite happened. And it wouldn't. His first duel was an astounding success. Both he and his partner had not just survived but had come out of the other end completely unscathed. He watched for a while as volunteers hurried the two badly hurt Gryffindors to the hospital wing.
Cade felt elated that everything had gone so well but terribly confused as to why he felt off. He had done what he set out to do, but there was a throb of guilt in his chest. The Ravenclaw didn't feel that anyone deserved such terrible casualties even if it was in fact a duel. He hoped this feeling would ebb away in time. That way next time he would feel better. Cade tucked away his wand in his robes and alighted from the platform. He caught a smile from Phaedra and took it to mean that he had done well. Graciously returning one towards her, he followed out of the room.Cade exits the thread
Thanks to all who participated! I look forward to next time
