More spell work, more misses. But at least this time it seemed that @Phaedra Stavrou was intending to get back into the fray and help her teammate take down the surviving opponent. It must have been a frustrating match for the three duelists as each round it seemed as if they were missing their targets. @Bridget Collins managed to dodge the artfully cast Green Sparks spell aimed at her by @Lana Monet while the oldest player here managed to move slightly to the side and allow the youngest player's Flipendo zip right past her own body. She was hurt from the beating she took from Santario Martin earlier in the match but she wasn't down. There was still hope for either team to take this victory.

Who knows? Maybe Miss Collins could pull out the victory somehow on her own? It was way too early to cast votes on the winners of this duel now.

Maybe Phaedra thought Bridget would continue to target her teammate, or maybe she'd just decided she needed to do something, because the fourth year cast a spell this round. Her Petrificus Totalus didn't come anywhere close to Bridget, though, and she was able to avoid Lana's Green Sparks Charm pretty easily.

Her spell was so close. It didn't backfire, didn't veer towards a different target, didn't miss horribly. In fact, it flew straight at Phaedra, the older girl only managing to get out of its way at the last minute. She would have much preferred an actual hit, but this was a start. She could do this; she was getting into something of a rhythm, getting confidence back. Bridget was not going to let Santario down.

xxxThe blue streak from Bridget would have hit had she not dodged at the last possible moment. It came dangerously close to grazing her; the only indication that it had done so was the quick ruffle of her robes as the spell passed through them. Upon reflection, and much to her surprise and relief, nothing flammable had been used so far and Bridget seemed dead set on Flipendo. Thankfully, robes were replaceable, but her dignity was not. In fact, it was hard to not feel the aftermath of her failure, her face growing hot when her own Petrificus Totalus went way off course from its intended target. It was just her luck that the most beneficial spell she knew would refuse to work with her twice in a row now. Phaedra felt that a roll of her eyes was warranted.

The fourteen-year-old rolled the ridges of her wand between her fingers before holding it up again. The situation stopped looking favourable for her team around round three. Perhaps that was the true lesson from all of this; learning how to pick yourself up when things looked grim. The biggest challenge was anticipating Bridget's moves, but no matter what, she would have to try or go down fighting. As the oldest member on the stage, she had to stay standing for as long as she could. Fearsome as Lana was, the advantage against Bridget could be lost if she were to succumb.

The duel seemed to be repeating itself from earlier, spells missing and flying all over again. It was getting frustrating, no doubt, though there was little point in getting worked up about it. She'd already made amends with the fact that this would be a slow duel, tedious or not. Once again, her older teammate was targeted. There was no doubt Bridget was a talented duellist, though Phaedra just as well.
Was Lana becoming a burden? No, certainly not. She was just as determined as these girls, her motives all the same. Nothing here was personal, she knew that, though the obligation to show her fellow peers she was capable of winning was starting to become a priority. Though what reputation did she have to maintain, really?

Another miss came from @Lana Monet, though it was quite the close call that the younger player managed to dodge the spell. But what was this?!

A hit! Well, not a damaging one, but still a spell connected anyway! A fast-moving blindfold erupted from @Phaedra Stavrou's wand and slapped right onto @Bridget Collins face over the girl's eyes. The swift spell came right after the older girl managed to dodge yet another Flipendo from her younger opponent, and the strategy was a good one. Would Bridget attempt to cast a spell blindly or would she take the time to remove that blindfold from her eyes? Only the young Slytherin would know.

Was she getting a bit repetitive in her spell-usage? Perhaps. But even if Flipendo wasn't the most creative spell, it was an effective one. In fact, it looked like one more good Knockback Jinx would be enough to do Phaedra in, evening out the playing field.

She just couldn't land a hit, though. The spell didn't come as close as last time, either, but the round certainly saw a change. The older Ravenclaw's Blindfolding Spell was too fast, too spot-on. Bridget managed to avoid the sparks flying from Lana's wand, but she couldn't get out of the way of the older girl's spell as well.

A blindfold tied itself around her head and everything went black. This wasn't good. Her wand was probably still aimed at Phaedra, but it would be all too easy for the girl to even just take a step to the side, not to mention the fact she could hardly dodge incoming spells effectively this way. The duel had been slow so far; would this be the turning point?

xxxBridget's spell this round didn't approach as well as her previous did and Phaedra easily sidestepped the girl's effort despite the aching all over her body. Clearly, Bridget wasn't going to let off her until she was out of the picture entirely. Fine with her really—it only gave Lana more time to land a hit. She'd have to, eventually. Meanwhile, Phaedra's own Obscuro wrapped around Bridget's eyes, and for the first time since Santario's falling, Phaedra perked up. She couldn't dodge if she couldn't see, and hopefully tearing apart the blindfold's knots would keep her busy for a moment. If they could keep this strategy up, the next few rounds were sure to be interesting.

It seemed to Artemis that each player was taking precautions to protect themselves. Except for @Lana Monet who just stood in the middle of the dueling platform doing nothing with her wand. Maybe it was the last round's miss that had the girl wondering how to go about her next move? Whatever it was, she was quite a sight standing there. @Phaedra Stavrou managed to heal herself a little bit, which seemed to get her to stand a little straighter while @Bridget Collins managed to somehow cast a mild shield around herself for this round, but would she be able to keep it up for the next one?

The obvious solution to her blindfold predicament would be to simply remove it. A few months ago, that would have been her only real option, but now it wasn't. Bridget knew she could cast a Shield Charm and was facing the right way for it to properly block any incoming spells, but was it worth attempting an older, harder spell in the middle of a duel?

Maybe it was the weird, jumpy feeling Lana gave her, because the prospect of fumbling with the blindfold's tie with potentially two spells she'd have next to no chance of avoiding coming at her freaked her out. The duel looked pretty even at the moment, but she was at a disadvantage without Santario, and Ravenclaw landing a few good hits could easily tip the scales. So instead of reaching for the tie, she moved her wand in the vertical line she'd practiced and incanted, "Protego!"

With the swatch of black fabric over her eyes, she had no way of seeing if the spell worked, but nothing hit her. Nothing had actually come for her, though, if what she could hear was any indication. Phaedra had taken the time to heal herself and Lana had done... nothing? She hadn't heard her say an incantation and it wasn't like she was incapacitated. Bridget bit her lip, glad she hadn't been hit yet, but still very much not enjoying her current lack of visual.
