Backup Graphic Designers Needed!
I am sad to announce that Seulrene An has left the team. This was something that came as a surprise to all of us, though we thank her for the work she put into everything.

This has left our graphic design team in a situation it has never been in before in the year that the Headliner has been around: every single person working right now is entirely new and on their first issue. For that reason, I have elected to open two graphic designer spots.

Effective immediately following this issue, Aurelia Roberts will be stepping up from her position to join Aida Ama-Morsgor Ellwood and Celynne Gray as a primary graphic designer.

The role of the backup graphic designer is simple; you sit in until you either need to be called up to work as a primary one, or if you need to fill in for a primary one who needs a month off. This role is favorable for people who are not familiar with canvas or graphic design, as it gives them more time to get trained.

The team lead spot is currently vacant, so your training will likely come from me or one of the primary graphic designers, depending on how the remainder of the September issue goes. If you have any questions regarding this position, please contact me.

All applications should be turned into both myself and Phaedra Stavrou no later than the 21st.

Main-Article Writer Needed
I am unfortunately here to announce that long-time team member, Ami Procoppio, is leaving her spot on the team. She leaves with no ill will and a wish to return to the team on a different position. Ami has been with us since the beginning, having served as the very first secretary of the Hogwarts Headliner, and as a writer for her entire time with us. She's written many interesting articles that readers have gone on to love, and I know these will be very big shoes to fill.

That being said, as there is a hole in our team, I am asking for applications for one main-article writer at this time.

Main-article writers can produce up to three articles a month, one main-article and two optional sub-articles. Main-article writers have a hard cap on 800 words per main-article, while sub-articles are 600 hard cap.

As you are applying for a writer position, we will be looking at lengthier applications favorably, not just to show us that you could fulfill the word count each month, but as an indicator for clear interest in joining the team. We ask that you are detailed in your application rather than concise.

Please fill out the application below and owl it to both myself and Phaedra Stavrou by September 29th, 2020.

Backup Writers Needed
We are introducing a new system on the Hogwarts Headliner: backup writers.

Backup writers are very similar to backup graphics.

The three people who we select will fill in for unclaimed or unfinished articles. They will follow the same rules as our usual writers; no more than three articles allowed to be claimed at a time, one main article and two sub articles, as well as all word count restrictions.

Backup writers may not be needed every issue, and they do not have to work every month should they get busy.

This position is meant to appease to the number of excellent applications we have been getting, and all those unsure about the position and who would like to do something similar to a trial run of the team. Think of this as like a paid internship. In addition, it will also save us time should a writer step down, so one of you that is selected will eventually step up and become a fulltime writer. We have been fortunate enough to have a fairly consistent team, which is why we are only looking for three writers at this time.

You will still be expected to follow all team rules and we ask that you still have a schedule that is fit to fill in for a writer should they not claim all of their articles.

We will be selecting three backup writers, and we ask that you have your application in no later than Thursday, October 15th, 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Please sent the application to both the EiC and Secretary.

If you have any questions regarding this position, you may owl me or DM me on Discord at FreeLukasReichel#7674.

Backup Graphics Needed!
I am sad to announce that Aida Ellwood has elected to step down from her position of graphic designer. Aida has served with us for a few issues and we appreciate all the work that she has done so far for the graphics team.

With that being said, the Headliner is looking for at least one new graphic designer to serve in the backup position. As a reminder, the backup designer role is a reserve role to be called up on whenever a main graphic designer needs to take a break or has to step down.

Applications will be open from today, 10/25/20, to 11/1/20, that is one week from today.

Please owl applications to both myself and Phaedra Stavrou. Any application that is not sent to both of us will be rejected, per rules put in the last time we opened applications. Please ensure that you owled it to the both of us. Please do not send the owl to us individually, include both of us in one owl.

Applications are open between now and December 16th, that is one week from today.

Please owl applications to both myself and Phaedra Stavrou. Any application that is not sent to both of us will be rejected, per rules put in the last time we opened applications. Graphic Designers Needed!
The Hogwarts Headliner is looking to expand their graphic design team! You need no prior graphics experience, just the will to learn, operate using Canva, and a Discord! To apply, please fill out the application below and have it submitted to both myself and Phaedra Stavrou by March 31st, that is one week from today. Please note that if applications are not submitted to both myself and Phaedra, they won't be counted.

Hello prospective graphic designers,

If you have already submitted a mock-up graphic with your application, please be aware that due to tampering of the source document, the Headliner team has made and released another mock-up template with proper permissions. It has been re-linked in the post above. You do not have to redo the mock-up if you've already submitted the older one and the slight differences in layout between the two mockups will not be held against you during the voting stage.

For those who have not done their mock-up yet, after you click the link to the mock-up graphic, click the purple "Use template" button, and then you are free to edit the pages as you want. When finished, download the pages and include these in your application.

Thank you and sorry for any inconvenience. The deadline is still March 31.

MASS TEAM EXPANSION!

It is with a heavy heart that the Headliner must bid an official farewell to several hardworking and beloved staff members: Rebekah Morton, Eyre Reeves, Caelan Stewart, Thomas Lestrange, George Henry, Breana Oliveire, and Anastasia Beckett. They left us with big shoes to fill, which means the Headliner is opening for nine (9) new members.

The deadline for all openings is November 5, 2021, 2359 Central Time. You may apply for multiple positions as long as you send separate applications for all of them (except for full and backup writers as those applications are identical). If you are applying for multiple positions, please list your preferences in order.

Please send applications to both Alexx Séverin and myself, Phaedra Stavrou, with the position(s) that you're applying for listed in the subject line for ease.
Applications that are not sent to BOTH of us will be discarded.

If you have any questions regarding applications, you may owl me here or DM me on Discord at motherofpearl#0153. Thank you for your interest and support!

1 Full-Time (Sub) Writer Needed!
We are looking for one (1) full-time writer. This writer will be expected to write, at maximum, three sub-articles every issue, but may publish an occassional main article if there is a shortage. Sub-articles, unlike main articles, can cover just about any non-crucial, casual topic ranging from sports to fashion and gossip, and have a shorter word count cap of 500-600 words. If you would like to participate full-time with more creative freedom in topics, this is the position for you.

4 Back-Up Writers Needed!
We are looking for four (4) back-up writers. Back-up writers are part-time writers that fill in for unclaimed or unfinished articles. These writers do not necessarily work every issue, and in the case of a full-time writer stepping down, back-ups will have priority in getting promoted. Back-ups follow the same rules as full-time writers. If you want a more flexible writing schedule, this is the position for you.
