The Wizards Guide to Dancing Pv Alina Rosier

The first kiss wasn't even a kiss, it was a peck on the cheek. The second kiss didn't count because it ruined everything in just a couple seconds. This kiss, the third kiss, actually counted because we both liked it, it didn't ruin our relationship and it was actual lip to lip contact. So, in a way, this was his first kiss.
"Found you" she said. Suddenly, Logan forgot that they should have been playing hide and seek, but Logan knew that this was way better than hide and seek.
She took his hand and lead him to the piano bench where they sat. She said that was happy that she didn't ruin things between them because of the bridge kiss. Logan smirked and said,
"Honestly, I thought I ruined everything"
She ran out when he kissed him so why wouldn't he.
"Thanks for everything. For guiding me through the wizarding world. For teaching me quidditch and how to dance, and for showing me around the castle."
She did so many things for him. Without her, he would be totally lost.
"As you said once at the lake, you're like my unofficial tour guide.
He put his arm around her shoulders and said,
"I love you. You're the only person that made me forget about my problems. I want to return the favour"

She was glad she was able to take his mind off his troubles but she squeezed his hand. "Good, but slowly we'll have to work on those, okay? Ignoring one's problems doesn't make them go away but we can try and solve them, one at a time." After all, Alina wanted to be a healer when she got older and while she mostly thought of it in a physical sense, she knew the mental mind and the emotional mind needing healing as well. "And I mean all of it. Anything you want to work on big or small." He had his homesickness, missing his friends, still rather recent mother's death, father's seclusion, distanced brother and sister, new school.

"You sure you want to return the favor?" she laughed slightly, small but still an actual laugh. She was doing okay at the moment with things but the girl did carry quite the baggage. She had a multitude of issues that could be worked out herself: a French girl never really feeling she found her bearings in a British world, a murdered mother, a strange childhood, an abusive grandmother, self esteem issues, lack of love from a parent, family members ignoring her, twin abandonment, losing her best friend, trust issues, self esteem issues, low grades...the list probably even continued from there.

Alina rested her head for a moment on his shoulder, just taking in the moment because this had been a good afternoon with him. "And to think you still have yet to discover the wizarding candies, attend a quidditch game, be shown around to some of the more interesting portraits on the walls of Hogwarts, or seen the secret passage." There was a lot for him to still discover and she didn't mind being the one to do it. "Maybe you can teach me some of that language of yours," his Scots Gaelic. She liked when he broke out into it.

This was one of the greatest moment of Logan's life. He got his first official kiss with zero complications. He felt happier than he could have ever been and it was all because of her. Alina made him a better person in general. Not only did she help him get through a whole new world, but she helped him get over some in the old one. But he knew some problems could never be fixed.
"Maybe you can teach me some of that language of yours," she said.
Uhhh, I actually know two languages, Scots Gaelic and Russian. Both of which are harder than they look"
They took years to master. He said,
"In our family, we learn them when we start to talk and I still haven't mastered it"
He looked away from Alina's beautiful eyes and fixed his gaze on the window.
"Now that my mom's dead, I don't see myself ever getting to learn Scots Gaelic ever again. All I have now is Russian"
He turned back to her and put the other hand on her shoulder.
"I don't see many people here speak any of the languages so it'll be rather hard to hold onto them"
He stood up and removed his hand for Alina's grasp.
"Is dòcha gum bu chòir dhomh a bhith a ’dol."
He smirked at her and said,
"That means maybe I should be going in Scots Gaelic. So should I? "

She sighed. He didn't NEED to go but it was growing late and there were lots to do. Plus, she knew she couldn't take up his entire existence there at Hogwarts...even if she wanted to.

"Si vous devez absolument," she said playfully in her own native language. "If you must," she said in the Queen's English. "Don't stop using them," the languages, "and they'll stay with you," she told him and then got an idea. Yes, she needed to go too because she had a project ahead of her for that evening. At least, after she played that piano a moment.

The piano had drawn her in when she first came into that room there at Hogwarts and she couldn't leave without at least trying it. Piano was something she was able to learn back home without pressure like dance. Her father had set up the lessons, although she didn't know if he had ever heard her play.

There was a long ago memory of her mother. Shortly before her death, Alina had been playing the piano one night to find her mother had come out of her room and watched from the doorway. Upon realizing she was there she paused to greet her but her mother gave nothing in response but a step backwards from the door frame, distancing herself even further. If only she knew then what she knew now and could have changed that situation - although even if she had known, she would have probably been too young to know how to fix things.

Alina aimed to have fixing things be one of her specialties and even if she couldn't, it wouldn't be for lack of effort. She smiled over to Logan. "Go on, then. And oh, be sure to be at breakfast tomorrow. I think you just might have an owl delivery." For when she left the Ballroom, her plans would be to go straight to her dormitory and find him some books written in both Russian and Scots Gaelic. Not instructional books, but books on mythology, nature, some famous classics, and some on quidditch. The next morning when Logan would be at breakfast, there would be twelve owls working together to carry in a box containing these books. When he opened the box, on the top would be a note in the shopkeeper's handwriting but Alina's words.

IF you want to continue on from this, we could probably have it be in the Great Hall or Corridors that next morning. Sorry if I badger you with threads (no Hufflepuff pun intended but perfectly placed all the same) but the dance is just too far out to wait that long! :)
