Sometime after the 2026-2027 sorting ceremony | CourtyardIt’s been a while since Ji-won arrived at Hogwarts and he surprisingly doesn’t hate it, he’d assumed that his siblings were giving a biased point of view on Hogwarts but they weren’t, it truly is a magical place.
His favorite place, his comfort place, if you will, so far, is the Courtyard. Despite the somewhat eerie vibe it has, he likes the general air surrounding it, carefully avoiding getting wet by the water in the fountain.
It feels oddly cold and warm in the courtyard today but he doesn't want to dwell on it because of how proud he is of his outfit. To commemorate his being at Hogwarts, he decided to wear a skirt. Thankfully, he remembered to purchase skirts from Madame Malkin's, his Ravenclaw sorting, turning them into a beautiful shade of blue. He's also wearing a dark grey vest bearing the Ravenclaw vest in all its glory with a button-up blouse under it with a nice, subtle floral pattern on the sleeves. He decided to pair the outfit with some thin but gorgeous grey stockings and his newest obsession, shiny, black Mary Jane's.
On that note, another thing Ji-won likes about this place is that he has a large amount of victims for his gender shenanigans, he’s been asked about his gender so many times that it genuinely gives him a dopamine rush whenever he’s asked, well, it feels like he’s given a dopamine rush every time he’s asked. It doesn’t help the people asking that he only tells them when he feels like it, and he rarely ever feels like it. He's heard himself be referred to as a mixture of pronouns, most commonly "they", people seem really intent on not hurting his feelings. His twin sister, Ae-ri finds his shenanigans both funny and a little mean, she actually told him not to go too far, which offended him. He may be vain and a little too mischievous but he wouldn't actually want to hurt someone's feelings with what he believes is a harmless joke. He isn't a rude person, he just enjoys a good joke every now and then.
Back to the courtyard, there aren't too many people here that he'd want to avoid it as much as possible, but there's a variety of people scattered around it, some even complimented his outfit, something he was very happy about considering he put a lot of effort into it. He sat on the edge of the fountain, which is a lot more wider than it looked, in fact, he's able to sit on it and still have space between him and falling into the fountain.
The air in the courtyard is crisp and, somehow, smells clean, not literally, it just doesn't have any odors or smells that would normally drive people away from it. Ji-won runs a hand through his hair, which is still its dyed brown color due to him not yet deciding on a new one to change it to. His nails are actually what he's most proud of, it took him and his sisters hours to create the design on the French acrylics with Chae-mi's enchanted nail paint that, if you look closely, makes silver details move and shine like actual stars.
With a heavy breath, he opened his messenger bag and pulled his newly checked out library book about potion ingredients out and after seeing the glossary, flips to the very first chapter, careful not to rip or bend any of the pages. He begins silently reading, determined to finish this book before his return date.@Clark Stellan & @Damien Dragonclaw

Damien wasn’t one to waste a day by laying around and doing noting, he liked to be productive and able to move himself around as sitting still in one place all day with no where to redirect his energy too would drive him mad. Luckily he didn’t have to wonder about that as his friend Clark Stellan needed help with his history of magic notes. From what Damien understanding was he disliked the class a lot and wasn’t very good at it, luckily for him Damien was a natural in that class and he enjoyed teaching others so he didn’t mind doing a little study session, he figured it would be even better outside in the courtyard as it was much sunnier and even more prettier outside which made it better for studying. As he sat outside on a blanket he brought for them to sit on along with their history of magic books and a few snacks and drinks in case they got hungry. As Damien made the last final arrangements for their study session he noticed a..well he couldn’t quite tell if they were a boy or a girl so he noticed a person also sitting in the courtyard reading what seemed to be a potion book from the library which he knew from spending most of this time in the library. He looked over at Clark before whispering as he didn’t want this person to assume they were making fun of them or worse and cause unnecessary drama. “Pssst! Clark, do you think that uh..person over there would like to join our study session ?” One thing Damien knew of was that reading alone while enjoyable could be very lonely from sometimes and he thought inviting them to join them would be super fun as a chance to make a new friend. |

Clark sat hunched next to Damien on the blanket at the Courtyard, and stared at the open book on his lap. For the past fifteen minutes he had been trying to read this one specific paragraph, but the longer he stared, the words got more and more blurrier.
Out of all subjects, it had to be History of Magic, that left him struggling.
His fingers thightened around the page, his eyes darting between The words, and Damien, who was talking next to him. Damien, who was a year above him, had offered to help him out. Surely the older boy knew this subject better than Clark did, and could explain it to him. Eventhough Clark couldn‘t fully understand, why especially History of Magic made such troubles. Charms made sense. Astronomy was easy enough to lose himself in for hours. Potions followed clear instructions. an aspect Clark really liked about this subject
History of Magic just felt, like someone had thrown names, dates, hundreds of different rebellions and laws into a show box, gave it a few strong shakes and than expected Clark to remember it‘s exact position.
And that annoyed him more than he would ever say out loud.
Normally no subject was hard for him. He always has been good in school. He was excellent, actually.
He was used to understanding Things pretty quickly. It only took him one or two reads, for this information to make click with something he already knew. so sitting here with an open book, and not even a half full piece of oarchment felt like a punch to the stomach.
He let out a sigh and dragged a hand across his face, his palms rough from scars felt rather unpleasent against his cold and pale skin.
“I don‘t understand why they really needed that many rebellions, with so similar names. I bet creative wasn‘t something they were good at.“
His tone was flatt, but carried a hint of mockery, but Clark knew Damien could hear out the slight frustration underneath this all.
When Damien‘s tone shifted from his usual louder tone to something more quiet, Clark lifted his gaze, and followed Damien‘s gaze gaze cross the courtyard.
At first look he just spotted someone sitting alone near the fountain, with an open book on their lap.
Than he actually let his eyes linger for some time, and more and more details came flooding together.
The person‘s appearance was difficult to detect at first. Their features were soft in some ways, sharper than most people their age. And the oufit the person was wearing made Clark even more uncertain. A skirt, stockings, polished shoes, and some floral details could be seen beneath the Ravenclaw vest.
Than Clark blinked once.
Twice.
Was it a Boy?
Or a girl?
He genuinely couldn‘t tell, from where he was sitting.
This confused him more than it probably should.
Clark let his eyes move over the outfit again, not with a critical intention, he was rather curious. Whoever that was, wore this outfit with complete ease and confidence. There was no awkward tugging at the fabric, no attempt to hide what they were wearing and certainely no hesitation in any movement.
However Damien‘s question, if they wanted to ask the other person to join them, pulled Clark back into reality and away from gazing the other student.
“Mhm… I don‘t know…They seem rather busy at the moment.“, he answered, before adding in a more hushed tone.
“But maybe they like to join us...They seem like an interesting persona.“

Sometime after the 2026-2027 sorting ceremony | CourtyardJi-won may not be the most attentive person in the world but he is very much good at discerning when he's feeling a pair, or rather, two pairs of eyes on him. He doesn't mind it, obviously, but it does make him curious, so he closes his book carefully, all of the books in the library are so old, they'd probably crumble to dust if he closed them too hard.
With a slow turn of his head, he notices two older years sitting on a blanket more than a few feet away from him, while he doesn't recognize the Gryffindor, he does recognize the Ravenclaw. Well, his face anyway, his name escapes him, all he remembers is that he's a third year. Compared to the Gryffindor, who has more warmly-colored features, brown hair and tan adjacent skin, the elder Ravenclaw has more monotone features, pale skin and dark hair. Their features clash but it still makes since for them to be friends.
Ji-won sighs, both internally and outwardly, because now he has to put effort in to find out reason. Calmly, or as calmly as he could with his child-ish curiosity being very apparent, put the book into his messenger bag and stood on unsteady feet, making sure to grab the bag lest he forgets it. Due to this not being his first time wearing Mary Jane's and walking in them, his walk to the older years sitting on the blanket was a lot more natural than his very first time. It was chaotic, he tripped over his feet multiple times and barely managed to catch himself before hitting the ground.
When he got at a reasonable distance to them, he smiled and bowed, at the waist, not the neck because that's not how you bow properly to your elders, or in this case seniors. "Hello, I'm Kim Ji-won, it's a pleasure to meet you." He cringed internally at how proper he sounded, the consequences of growing up rich and having his English lessons taught by expensive and posh tutors. He chose to omit the reason he came over and decided to just start a conversation. He stood up after holding the bow for longer than he'd meant to and gave a sheepish smile, hoping that they didn't notice.
Determined to not let that introduction be the only way he starts the conversation, he added, "Are you studying? May I ask what subject?" That's somewhat better than before but still too proper. He fidgeted with the bag hanging on his shoulder, not out of nervousness, but out of anticipation, he's gonna solve a mystery. Well, technically answer his own internal question but that extra details aren't that important.@Clark Stellan & @Damien Dragonclaw

Damien didn’t expect the person to walk over to them, he was honestly internally panicking as he thought maybe them staring and whatnot had made him uncomfortable or was way too noticeable, luckily that didn’t seem to be the case as they were just simply introducing themselves. “Oh! Hello, it’s lovely to meet you Kim Ji-won, I am Damien Dragonclaw and this is my friend Clark Stellan.” He said softly as he just smiled at Kim. He now had a name only issue was Kim could be a boy or a girl so this only made it harder to tell which gender they are. “Yes! Indeed we are studying history of magic, would you care to join us maybe ?” He asked as he figured it would be rude to not invite someone to join them plus would be a better chance to get to know them a lot better. “We would be delighted if you did, we’ll I know I would be” He smiled softly as he made room as well as offering them a raspberry tart his mother had made as he was always taught offering treats was a great way towards friendship. Plus he made it his mission to be kind and friendly to any Ravenclaws he haven’t met before, so he was determined to do that. |

Clark‘s eyes stayed on the other student, even as they had now closed the distance between the three of them. Up close, the uncertainty Clark had felt, when they were still across the Courtyard didn‘t vanish. The skirt, The blouse, the polished shoes, and their overall soft looks, didn‘t really help his situation at all. He still questioned wether the person standing infront of Damien and him was a Boy or a Girl. Clakr geniunely couldn‘t tell. And combined with the already noticed confidence the other student had, Clark‘s admiration didn‘t vanish either. It was always somehow surprising seeing other persons being so confident with theirselfs, while Clark had spend most of the time doing the exact opposite thing.
The bow combined with the introduction of their name, made Clark raise an eyebrow. It was rather proper and not expected at all. However Clark now got the student‘s name. Ji-won Kim. It somehow fitted them, and the pronouncing sounded really pretty. Before Clark could even react to Ji-won‘s introduction, Damien who had been sitting next to him, already reacted, and introduced himself and Clark.
Clark looked at Ji-won‘s gaze and gave a short nod. “Nice meeting you. The Name is Clark, as my friend already told you.“, he reintroduced himself, before going quiet again, as he dropped his gaze back to the Book on his lap. What Damien said about Ji-won maybe being able to help them, wasn‘t such a bad idea.
“If you happen to be good at History of magic, Damien and I would be really grateful if you joined us.“, he than said, while picking up a piece of parchment that laid next to the book. “Even taking notes upon what I have read doesn‘t help at all.“
Admitting this bothered him more than he let it show.
“For the record, the notes I take most of the time are more than perfect, but apperantly even they don‘t make sense when it comes to this subject.“

Sometime after the 2026-2027 sorting ceremony | CourtyardHe finally had names to put to faces, the Gryffindor being Clark and the older Ravenclaw being Damien. To his surprise, they are both actually very polite, not that he expected them to be mean but older years usually aren't very eager to speak to younger years, especially first years, well, that's what he heard, it's never happened to his personally.
He couldn't stop his eyebrow from cocking up when they asked him about whether he has proficiency in History of Magic. Not because he doesn't, his O's on the few assignments he and the other first years have been given speak for themselves, thank you very much, but because he had assumed, shockingly incorrectly, that the subject would be easy for them.
Clark's somewhat subdued tone when he spoke of the subject should have made him pity him but Ji-won couldn't help but feel prideful or somewhat victorious, he should feel bad about it but he doesn't, he internally shrugs the thought away.
“I’m proficient in History of Magic, more so than my siblings, at the very least.” When Clark spoke of his difficulty understanding his notes, Ji-won couldn’t help but muster up a bit of sympathy, he’d be frustrated too if he were in his place.
Picking up on their offer of letting him study with them, Ji-won placed his bag down before he sat in the space that was made for him and took the offered raspberry tart with an thankful incline of his head. He’s never had one before so he feels a bit skeptical as he takes a bite of it but he couldn’t help the way his eyes glinted as his mouth was flooded with the taste of raspberry.
He closed his eyes briefly as he swallowed before he turned to Clark, taking a moment to bring what he hopes to be a neutral smile on his face before speaking, “ ”Is there any specific part of History of Magic you’re struggling with? I’ll help to the best of my ability.”@Clark Stellan & @Damien Dragonclaw

Damien eyes just brighter more as he listen to this person speak, this was wonderful as Clark would have even more help with history of magic which could really help him understand the subject better. Plus in a way they could use this as a good excuse to get to know this person and see if they are a boy or a girl. “Welp that works out perfectly then! With both of our minds together Clark will be acing history of magic in no time!” As he beamed brightly he scooted farther from his usual spot to make room for this person. As he waited to see if they would sit down he couldn’t help but noticed how pretty their outfit was. Damien had spent the better part of the summer when he was in Italy learning a lot of different things from his aunts and uncles. His aunts made sure he knew so many different things about female clothings and what mixes well together. They claimed it was due to the fact Damien may want to dress in more feminine clothing or help design some clothes they would be good tips. Damien wouldn’t lie and did admit to them he had thought about how fun making clothes would be since he was a creative artist. Granted he found wearing them and showing them off much more fun and more suited to his specialty than making clothes but one could never be in too many hobbies. He just gave another soft smiling from the fawn memory before he decided to compliment the person to show he respected and liked their outfits. “Hey, your outfit is pretty killer! I would love to style you one day i have like so many different combo choices of Ideas for you already haha!” He hopped he didn’t come off as like some weird guy or something as he truly was just trying to a new friend but not replace the other ones. He sometimes tended to have a habit of saying whatever on his mind at the moments like that his tone can come off wrong. He would never want his tone to be the reason is why he never were allowed to be in too many or not be able to meet any new potential customers. But he did have to admit this person has absolutely extraordinary looks. If he ever wanted to test out more makeups and stuff Damien just so happened to own a lot thanks to his uncle for being did nice. |
