The moment that he got his hands on the burn-healing cream, he started to cover himself with it as if his life depended on it all over his exposed flesh. Soon, the painful burn was relieved, and he felt like a human again, just a particularly greasy looking one because of the paste.

"I hope your burn gets better," The girl who was his saviour told him in an uncomfortable tone. He did just have a bit of a breakdown in front of everyone, so it was understandable. "What's your name? It's Rose, from Hogwarts." She asked him. His eyes must've not gone back to not being dish plates, because she followed it up with "Maybe you should go back to your tent... Or at least under a tree. The sun may be setting, but we really don't want that sunburn to get any worse."

"...Right..." He mumbled when he was able to speak. "I think I'll seek some shade elsewhere. I really haven't eaten anything today," He said, looking at the plate of fruit that he'd just massacred. "...Except for the cantalope." The only upside of being burnt is that his skin was unable to flush any darker.

Looking down at his outfit, he realized how tragic it was. He did himself a favor and took off the dumb hat and sunglasses, before looking up at the girl. His eyes crinkled into a half smile, his skin feeling a bit like leather.

"I'm Eyre. I'm from Hogwarts, too. Going into my second year, actually." He explained, fumbling with the frames of his sunglasses."Thank you for getting me the cream...I was convinced that I was going mad." He then turned his head to acknowledge his friend and the rest of the concerned strangers. "Thank you, all, really."

one morning this sadness will fossilize and i will forget how to cry. ☆

It was time. Carolyn wasn’t particularly keen on joining the crowds but she simply couldn’t spend all of her time in the tent, no matter how lovely it was. She came here to make friends and that wouldn’t happen if she didn’t venture into the wild. Her ability to form relationships was poor at best and she needed to change that. This was a perfect opportunity to do so. Not to mention there would be food. And so, she left a note for her two tentmates in case they wanted to join her, put on a nice summer outfit and left the safety her summer home.

The young Ravenclaw slowly made her way through the crowd, simply following the incredible smell of cooking. Thankfully, since this was an outdoor event, she did not feel nearly as suffocated as she would within a mass of people inside some building. When the table with all the delicious food finally presented itself, Carolyn actually felt herself relax a little. Now she had an actual task to focus on. “All right…where do I even start?” She muttered under her breath. It has been ages since she experienced a proper barbecue. Her parents were way too busy to do something like that. Occasionally there would be Korean BBQ with her grandparents but that was a very different experience. Grilling was done inside and not much fun was involved.

In the end, Carolyn decided the best way to try everything would be skewers. She picked her vegetable, some meat and mushrooms and added a piece of halloumi in order to create perfection. Then she waited her turn so Caradoc could cook them. She had picked up a cold lemonade and returned back to the barrel stand. There were so many people here. Some she vaguely recognized from classes or Hogwarts corridors but plenty faces were completely new to her. Judging by the mix of accents a lot of them also came from Durmstrang or Ilvermorny school. She was extremely curious about those students in particular but she was not brave enough to approach them. To her delight, she soon spotted a fellow Ravenclaw coming towards her, no doubt picking up her food. “Oh…Hello Nell. It’s good to see a familiar face,” she greeted her classmate with a smile. They were not very close. In fact, they have properly introduced themselves only recently when celebrating the winning of the house cup. Still compared to all the other strangers, this one was the safest bet. Not to mention she genuinely wanted to get to know her better. Nell seemed like a lovely girl. It was a shame they didn't get to talk earlier. Well, if you weren't such antisocial nerd, maybe you would.

Food was a good incentive to do anything. Well, at the very least, good food was. Arjan did not know if anything on the menu today was worthy enough for him to eat but he was starting to get hungry and a barbecue sounded far more interesting than their usual meals. It was different, at the very least. He wondered if he could get a proper steak or something. That would have been worth coming here for. Then again, he was bored out of his mind. He had been up since six, gone for a run around the stadium, gotten dressed, had breakfast and then went around looking for something to do but... everything seemed to be pretty quiet. Geesh, London needed more activities. Or at least, more people to beat up.

But the noise emitting from the event meant that it was likely filled with people. At the very least, he figured it would be a good opportunity to meet some new people, check out the other schools and their students, whilst stuffing his face.

Arjan cocked one eyebrow as his eyes fell onto a giant barrel that was labeled 'barrelcue'. Oh that pun was kind of... huh, maybe it was awesome. He should use it. He stared at it for a moment, wondering if he wanted to steal it or hate on it. It was kind of hard to tell, to be honest. It was so bad that... it might of actually been kind of good? Or maybe it was just terrible. He had yet to decide.

Huh. So this was how Hogwarts organised events? It was... casual, to say the least. He was not sure what he expected - perhaps because he never really thought about it - but he knew it would not be as fancy or formal as anything he would have liked.

His hazel-brown eyes scanned the area, not really paying all that much attention to any particular person but rather, taking in the scenery. Running a hand through his hair, Arjan could be seen dressed in a pair of buttermilk coloured cargo shorts with a red t-shirt and a pair of flip flops. Whilst the outfit looked pretty casual, there was the tiniest logo on each of the items that showed they were branded, and therefore unnecessarily more expensive than they needed to be.

Opting for food first, he made a beeline for the table.

Gregorí just shrugged upon hearing his friend's question. "So-so," the Mexican said. "The food is good, I'm fine as long as I'm not forced to eat seafood, but man, it is hot tonight, no matter what people like to say about the weather in this country. Summer is summer, I guess." His eyes fell on the big campfire. There was no way he would go near that thing.

He did note, though, how Drew still "Gregorí"-ing him once in a while, even though he had told the blond before that now they were comfortable with each other, a simple, short "Greg" would work. A habit really was one of the most difficult things to change, the Mexican boy guessed. But all the same, Gregorí did not mind it. Why bother over something as trivial as the way your closest friend called you?

After that, the boy decided to switch the topic. "Is that the cousin you told me about? The girl with flaming red hair you talked with just now?"

Of course, after knowing Drew for almost a year now, Gregorí knew that she might or might not be. Drew was talkative and could easily talked at ease with anyone, even people he had just met, this the black-haired student knew very well.

The boy who later introduced himself as Eyre seemed to get relief from the cream, which Rose thought was good. "I'm Eyre. I'm from Hogwarts, too. Going into my second year, actually."
Rose's eyebrows raised. "Me too. Which house are you from?" She scanned him and said, "I'm guessing Gryffindor?"
Eyre then (the sweetheart) said, "Thank you for getting me the cream...I was convinced that I was going mad."
Rose had always either underpacked or overpacked, either in the mood of, eh, I'll be fine, or I might regret it if I dont, so she was glad she was extra prepared this time, so she could help someone in need. "No problem," Rose replied, her smile reaching her emerald eyes. "I'm glad I could help."
Even though he was really badly sunburnt, Eyre was actually really, really cute. And he was in her year. She took a deep breath to clear her romantic thoughts and gently grabbed his elbow to guide and pull him to a nearby shady tree. She wasn't sure if he was still having that small dose of heatstroke he was experiencing earlier, but Rose decided she would rather be safe than sorry. As she got under the shade of the tree, she could feel the heat radiating off of Eye's sunburn and locked her fingers together behind her back. "Better?" she asked, genuinely concerned and hoping he was. I mean, not everything was about herself.

"Too true," Drew answered. It did get really hot here, even if not as much as back home. Drew wasn't that smart, he couldn't compare stuff like that.
Gregorí asked him about Rose, how he was talking to her earlier. "Yep, that was her. Her family visits all the time, especially since our mothers are twins," be answered. "I can't believe you remembered that, Greg," Drew added sarcastically. "It's not like I talk about her all the time."
Drew was an only child, so Rose was the closest thing he had had to a sister in his whole life. He wasn't as close with Rose's siblings, so he considered Gregorí to be the brother he never had. He never said it out loud (cause that's so so sappy) but he was pretty, completely sure they both knew. "So... how do you like the UK? Other than it being really hot." Drew noticed Gregorí looking disdainfully at the campfire. How were the people over there not burning up? Yeah, Greg was right, it was pretty hot out, but the shade of the tree made it better. Drew noticed Rose had left Alexi Petrov (good.) and bad made her way over to a really sunburnt guy.

When the green eyes girl opened their eyes from taking an afternoon nap, the day already turn into night. They yawn on their bed inside their tent. Rubbing their eyes to make them more alert and awake. They look around their tent and it seems their tent mates all gone doing the day activities. Cash sat up on their bed and make way toward their trunk.

Being in the Summer camp is the only option for them. They did not feel like going back to their home at Oxford. Finding it cold and empty. Even though their los abuelos (grand parents) said Cash can stay with them through out the summer, the young Serpent also did not feel like going there too. With a sigh, Cash gather the article of clothing they want to wear for the evening.

After taking a evening shower that their tent provide. Cash walked out from their tent. They walk into a big clearing where all their peers gather. The smell of food being cooked, wafted in the air. Cash's stomach grumble and they march towards where barrel shape kitchen located. The closer Cash got into the location, they now acknowledge how crowded the place is.

Cash can not help to let out a small chuckle when they saw a big barrel with 'barrelcue' on it. The pun is quite funny in their opinion. Cash then walks toward the long table where the food already provided. They grab a plate, the utensil that they need and start to filling their plate. The green eyes girl grab some roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, some veggies and corn-cob.

They saw familiar and unfamiliar faces. Some of their friends already in a conversation and they do not want to interrupt them with their conversations and their conversation partner. Cash then walk to the nearest empty wooden log to sit. They already told Selene, if the girl did not found Cash inside their tent, the purple dyed hair girl will be on where the barbeque located.

With the halloumi being grilled, she turned to the man next to her - looking far too smug for her liking. He would be met by the glare he warranted very quickly, as he attempted to mock or tease her for her love of halloumi. They were great. She honestly could not even work out why anyone would want to eat anything else. At this point, it might as well become a Hogwarts tradition to have a barbecue every year and for her to eat halloumi burgers every time. Even if it was not tradition, who was he to judge?! He ate far too many cookies or cake every time he seemed to find himself around them. Staring at him, she swallowed as she intensified her glare.

But the Hufflepuff head of house seemed determined to irritate her - as though that were his only job here. Or perhaps he was just a fan of smirking at her irritation. She could not tell but it bothered her either way. The more he smirked, the more annoyed she found herself becoming. "And why are you judging, Mister Browne?" She asked him, still glaring at him, "What if I'm feeding my child?" She continued, her look softening as she shrugged casually and rubbing her still flat belly with one of her hands. Definitely implying that she could be eating for two and he should not judge her for how much she ate!

As soon as the plate was returned, she moved to the table, and quickly made up some burgers. Okay. Perhaps there were more than she intended. Like... at least double what she needed. Whoops. But hmph! How dare he? Hjørdis had plans for the food! Plans, darnit! There were a few things that Hjørdis was proud of. Well... there were a lot of things she was proud of. But in terms of her own abilities, one of her strengths was having rather good memory. Part of her former careers required her to recall things about people, and her observation and memory skills came into play here. As of late, things had started to be a bit foggy sometimes or slip through the gaps. She put it down to the stress of the recent attacks affecting her. However, last summer, things were a lot better.

As she glanced around, she spotted the face of a familiar looking student. Silmataurea, one of Elaine's prefects, if she was not wrong. But more than that... for some reason, she had a feeling that the girl would be a fan of the halloumi burgers. Hjørdis was almost certain of that fact. They had spoken about it before, she was sure. Picking up a glass of the cranberry juice, she made her way over to the Gryffindor Prefect, "Miss Silmataurea, can I interest you in a halloumi burger... or two?" She offered, as she glanced down at her plate that managed to have four of them. Her expression was blank but Hjørdis was really hoping Meenauh took at least one of them. She had to finish the plate or Caradoc would have way too much to mock her over.

Phaedra excused herself from her shared tent with two other newly turned fourth-years, Dymphna Teague and Bloom Silverton, for a quick breath of fresh air. With just the few of them together, lifting and unpacking their belongings, the air in their small tent turned too stuffy for her taste. But luckily the sun was setting and with it came cooler air. As she strolled, curiously eyeing the foreign visitors (they made for great people-watching subjects), the smell of something delicious had wafted its way through the encampments, and feeling her stomach growl in anticipation, Phaedra made a beeline in its direction.

Ducking her head as she entered the covered area, Phaedra weaved briskly through the growing crowd of students. There was a myriad of conversation around her, and although, in her lateness, none of it was aimed at her, she would keep her ears open, expecting Dymphna and Bloom to arrive at any moment. Phaedra had gotten used to crowds like this and food sitting out under the air for who knew how long—only a few years previously would she had sneered at such a thing. But Hogwarts had a way of humbling someone.

Picking up a plastic fork, Phaedra muttered a polite “Excuse me,” as she squeezed between a pair of people for a few vegetables. The skewers she’d seen in students’ hands looked tasty, and after arranging the veggies to her liking, she turned away from the table to go stand in line for the grill, only to accidentally bump into another person.

The plate of food smashed against her front, the prefect cleverly maneuvering to avoid anything dropping. “Goddammit. Sorry.” Looking up, she was taken aback by the familiar face before her.“...Arjan?” she asked, squinting. A grin took over her features as the recognition kicked in. They hadn’t been particularly close, not nearly as close as she and his sister, but it was a surprise to see him here. Small world.

There were a surprising number of people here and it was bothering Arjan that they were all busy actually eating, rather than just networking. Pureblood parties were great because so many people were busy networking that they neglected the food or only took food from the servers - rather than from the tables. It meant that it was far easier for him to get food. Right now, he had to actually weave through people. Though... he was tempted to just shove one of the small kids near him aside and just take the stop. That would be so much easier.

As he contemplating lifting his hand, someone else bumped into him. He almost drew his fist into the person's face, quickly controlling himself as his gaze fell onto the face of a pretty girl. Well. He could forgive her. Perhaps. Wait, she looked familiar. Arjan blinked a little, kind of impressed by her quick agility that prevented the food on the plate from going over either of them. Glancing down to his clothes, he noticed they were still spotless. Well then, he could certainly forgive her, this time. Perhaps in exchange of a kis- Stavrou. Not Pavlina. The other one. His sister's friend... Phaedra? Yes. That sounded right. "Miss Stavrou, I didn't expect to see you here," He greeted a moment later as he recalled her name, a smirk appearing on his lips, "You look lovely, as always". His persona shifted entirely as the anger faded and was quickly replaced by politeness, "Apologies, it was entirely my fault. Though, I must admit that those were some rather impressive moves there," He added with a wink.

Perhaps it was useful not to resort straight to violence sometimes... At least, when there were pretty girls around - purebloods, at that. The Stavrous were a rather respectable family in the community. He had no intention of getting on their bad side by decking their youngest daughter in the face. His hazel-brown eyes flickered down to her plate before going back up to meet her gaze, "Anything you'd recommend I try?" He asked as he ran his hand through his hair, intentionally flexing his biceps as he did so. Well... as good as biceps can be for a fourteen year old. They'd likely be better than their peers, at the very least.

Any trace of a grin would fade away from his face as she made the comment of her being pregnant. What? When? Who? In the bright sunlight, it would have been hard to notice, but the man actually got a tint paler than he would normally look. Perplexed and not sure what to actually say or do, the Head of House would just be staring at her as she walked off. Her loose hair swaying along with her walk. "N-Nora, I-" He stammered in a final effort before his cheeks turned red. Looking over to Gargott who seemed to be deeply invested with the grill, he suddenly felt as if he were standing alone.

His bright blue eyes tracked her down in the flow of people that was slowly streaming in. Finding her next to a Gryffindor prefect, he noticed her trying to share the burgers. Immediately Caradoc would narrow his eyes as his mind made the click. "You sly..." He gritted his teeth whilst shaking his head. She would use a thing like that to get herself out of a situation? She knew it would have worked. Then again, she likely figured he'd see through that charade. If he was truly being that annoying, then she could have just said so. In a bit of a childish fit, Caradoc would be found grumbling to himself. "Mimimi, eating for two- Gobshite."

Not that she would have been a bad mother. She was a great mother to her snakes. Why did his mind bring him to that topic? No, no, he shook his head in denial. Cassanora would likely meet her eventually. They could have a chat with her. Just casual. Did she live near him? He actually had no clue. Why was he thinking about having her meet little 'nora? He's supposed to be mad at her. Or just, annoyed? That was rather her role in their dynamic, he admitted. Flickering his eyes in self-reflection. Caradoc realised he must have looked as mad as Lear by now. "Right..."

Quickly he folded his arms and checked if anyone in particular had seen him internally discuss with himself. "Right. Dunaid. You got the grill. Just... I don't know, just stay beautif- I meant, HERE. Just stay HERE." In a confused state of mind he waved his hand at his old friend in an attempt to look somewhat orderly. Cursing himself, he decided to march away from the barbecue and get himself sorted out.

Walking by the table with different assortments, his mind slowly set to work. A mixed sense of betrayal, guilt and hope were all having a go at him. It was rather hard to pick which one he wanted to listen to. Eventually he chose to listen to reason and grabbed a few burger buns with some vegetables he liked and dropped them all on his plate. With a grumbling sound and sigh, he turned heel and locked down on his target. "Why, just why..." He whispered to himself. It would only take a few paces for him to catch her once more. Still with the prefect. "ehem- I-" He began, trying to subtly get her attention. With his head slightly bowed down, he looked at the ground first before locking his eyes with hers.

"I'll happily take one as well, miss Jensen." He swallowed as his whole body seemed to go soft in surrender. "If you would let me..." Seeing her made him smile. It was a fact, a thing he couldn't deny. So slowly he'd put on his best puppy eyes and offer her a little, just a teeny little, smirk. "I love your hair today, by the way." He wiggled his nose as his mind made another click. "Don't you think miss Silmataurea?" In truth, he added that last part just to divert his own awkwardness as he realised too late what he was doing. He had never interacted an awful lot with the Gryffindor prefect, but now there was only hope left that the young girl would pick up on things and simply go with the flow.

If you're reading this... You're awesome.
