WC 242 Text #B97A84; italics OOC Notes open to any interactions!Elara tilted her head slightly as she thought about her answer. “I don't think that's weird,” she said. “It sounds useful.” She liked the idea of passing the clock down to someone else too. “And you could keep it for years. I think I'd like that.” Bella’s question made her think. She had never really considered what enchanted object she would want. She looked at the decorations on the table for a moment before answering. “Maybe an enchanted bag,” she said. “One with more space inside than it looks like it has.” She smiled a little. “I could carry more things without having to worry about making it too heavy.”
She thought about what she would put inside. Books would probably be the first thing. She was always bringing books with her, and sometimes there wasn't enough room for everything she wanted to take. “Clothes too,” she added. “Especially if I was going somewhere for a few days.” Elara looked down at her hands on the table. She had gotten used to choosing what to leave behind whenever her bag was already full. It would be nice not to have to make that choice every time. She looked back at Bella. “I think that's what I'd pick.” She gave a small shrug. “I can't really think of anything else.” The idea seemed simple enough, but Elara liked it. She wouldn't have to worry as much about how much she could fit inside.

I need your help, please. The letter had found her right before July ended, while she sat at the edge of the gardens of Talla Sindharin and polished her broom, while Hermes napped at her side after a thorough frolic.
Zyva is a Veela. Arkyn is a thrall. The letter had been the first contact from Piérre since school ended. An eagle-owl had descended with it, and waited, so patiently, for her to read the correspondence.
... they're... not like most children. Astra hadn't necessarily intended to attend summer camp, but good God was it depressing to stay here. Not that Aunt Aces wasn't sorely missed, but her death seemed to have been the catalyst for an implosion within the Norrick family. Astra had come to find out her mother was living alone back in Richmond while her still-jobless father remained here with Uncle Raymond, Roderick had moved in with Jesse it seemed, and Elliot and Helena had gone to Spain to stay with her family sometime in the spring. There were various... emotions surrounding each of those situations, none of which Astra was prepared to face.
Romeo and I are planning to bring them to the Summer Camp event. At this point, even a Hogwarts event was preferable to this broken dynamic and empty estate.
So here she found herself, at a welcome feast, armed only with very basic Dutch. A T-shirt depicting the scene in The Fellowship of the Ring where Gandalf warded off Durin's Bane (which, in retrospect, may not have been the best choice to communicate "safety" and "trustworthiness") and a pair of basketball shorts complimented the slightly dishevelled state of red hair and seemed at odds with the chosen department - that of Mysteries. Thematic cohesiveness was not high on Astra's priority list, that much was apparent.
She neglected to grab a card at the entry. A habitual scan of the area revealed persons of interest, to be sure, but all faded when she saw the young girl who must be Zyva.
Astra approached. "Zyva?" She offers a wave in greeting, a smile which she hopes is warm and gentle. "Hallo. Ik ben Astra. Piérre's friend. Hello. I'm Astra. Piérre's friend." She prayed this would be enough to breach the language barrier.

Pi,
I will attend. They will be in good hands. Be well, Uccellino.

She could tell that the girl's features was somewhat unusual or unnatural to say the least. Strikingly pale skin akin to hers only it had life unlike her own which made her look a bit like a corpse. Blonde features flushed colors blended perfectly and if she can infer with her previous interactions the girl could be a Veela. Unfortunately the language she spoke was probably foreign or a lone one. So most likely it was lost in translation. But icebreakers were at hand and likewise she would probably say something that perhaps she could understand or they as another girl seemed to be communicating with her as well. Brunette with curly hair much older than them but she probably had a chance to get a glimpse in the common room so her face wasn't so much foreign to her but everything was redacted for now.
"Uh, pasensya na kung hindi mo ako maintindihan, pero ang hitsura ng interes sa iyong mga mata ay nagsasabi sa akin na nagulat ka sa aking presensya." she says in tagalog an austronesian language but sounding defeated by her realization of language barrier again
"In short, I'm assuming that you have questions about my traits." she said without expounding any further the girl couldn't have understood that anyway, so Angel felt like it was common sense not to have started with that language and go with english. Things you'd do for an icebreaker.
The slytherin turned her attention to introducing herself to the two girls.
"I'm Angel Dayes." she profered with her usual light voice

T hank you.” Elodie was glad when he agreed so she took a seat and set her plate down. Although the silver box managed to steal her attention again, she was also intending to talk to the boy. She was not even touching the box, which she thought deserved some credit and her father would have agreed. There was a rather substantial difference between looking at an unidentified magical object and touching it without knowing what it does, a distinction her father made sure she understood after years of bringing work home that was interesting enough to tempt a curious child. Antoine’s question pulled her eyes away from it. Her eyebrows rose at hearing her name, which told her he remembered. She was pleased because she remembered his too. “I am and whether they’re actually locked or only made to look that way. But I’m not going to open one, if that’s what you’re wondering. My father works with old magical objects. I’ve had enough lectures about touching things when I don’t know what they do.” She picked up her fork and took a bite of risotto. The box presence was irritatingly as it’s just there at the edge of her vision. Putting locked boxes on the Department of Mysteries table and expecting nobody to wonder about them was definitely intentional. She wouldn’t be surprise if opening one would do nothing and whoever arranged the feast only wanted to see how many students would dare try. Now that she thought of that possibility, she wanted to know even more. Elodie glanced at Antoine again and caught something she couldn’t quite place. His expression had changed. It was very brief, but she was observant to notice the difference between a genuine smile and the one that followed. The latter looked more deliberate somehow. His attention went to his food, and when he looked at her again, whatever was there initially already disappeared but she didn’t ask at all and just shrugged it off as nothing.
One of the advantages of growing up around adults was learning that noticing something doesn’t automatically give you permission to question it. Her father was usually quiet when work was troubling him. Her mother was the opposite, she’s more talkative. Both of them didn’t like being interrogated until they’re ready, and she learned that asking repeatedly what’s wrong wouldn’t make anyone more inclined to answer. Antoine was someone she doesn’t know personally, whatever was happening in his mind was his business. She focused her attention to the food and then unfolded the card she was given and placed it beside her plate. “Did you take one of these?” She scanned the prompts again. “Apparently we’re supposed to use them to make connections.” There was enough skepticism in the way she said it to show what she thought of that. “Which is a very nice way of telling us to go and talk to strangers.” She was not entirely against the idea. Summer camp dropped her into an environment where children approach each other for no reason and somehow became friends after. Beauxbatons would be full of it this coming school year, so perhaps she ought to consider this practice.
“This one isn’t terrible.” She turned the card slightly so Antoine could see it. “What enchanted object would you most like to own?” She considered her own answer, “Asking someone that while we’re sitting beside mysterious locked boxes might influence the answer. They’re going to bother me all evening.” She returned to her dinner, more relaxed now that there was only one person beside her than an entire group expecting conversation. The boy didn’t seem particularly eager to join the louder campers either, which she appreciated. Sitting with someone doesn’t mean every second needs to be filled with conversation.
