Ruth rolled back and forth on her heels as she watched the race go on without Blackwood. The two Castelobruxo racers exchanged grins so wide they were visible from where the spectators sat. Even in their temporary celebration of victory, it wasn’t lost on them that Vasilius Nighthawk was racing ahead, because soon after, Jason unleashed the infamous banishing charm, sending the Durmie flying back.

“Looks like the racers really are in it to win it! Aguilar lets out a Depulso straight at Nighthawk and – oh, there he comes, tugged right back – and —” Ruth let out an amused exhale. “Nighthawk fights back with a projectile of his own, straight at Tomari, and darn! A close shave.” Tomari swivelled away in the nick of time, and soon the three racers were head-to-head, flying towards the fog.

Unit 3 - Hard Fog, Accuracy DC 26 to succeed

Nighthawk’s experience with the fog appeared to have paid off, as he once again passed through it with no more difficulty than before. The other two, however, had trouble navigating their way off the track but somehow managed to regain their lead and breezed past the Durmstrang racer. It was as though the tides were turning in both their favour. Barely a few minutes had passed, and roles had been switched twice!

Ruth wasn’t too sure if she would be able to maintain a neutral stance, especially at the sight of Tomari making her way to what the Hufflepuff considered the most thrilling part of the track – the giant squid. A wild, uncontrollable grin split across her face at the utter thought of how exciting the race would soon become.

Unit 6 - Giant Squid

And she was soon proven right! As Naiane’s broom grazed across the surface of the lake, the bane’s tentacles of maroon shot straight into the sky, wrapping them around the poor Castelobruxo. “After seeing all the fun the broomracers were having, the giant squid must have wanted to join in on all the fun,” Ruth commented, only to be answered by an enraged roar – or whatever sound squids made. “Yep. Good luck, Tomari!”

Jason was right; she had to focus. His words likely spared her from the projectile tossed in her direction. The attempt to use their own trick against her was unamusing to say the least, but there was no time for Naiane to mope about that. Before she knew it, vision was suddenly clouded by the heavy fog. It was near impossible to see anything; perhaps that was why she failed to dodge the flailing arms of the giant squid.

“Would you be so kind as to let me go?” She asked right before its grasp on her tightened. “No? Yeah, I didn’t think so,” she groaned. It was frustrating to feel like the weak link of the pair.

Right. Messing the other team up. The more difficult, the better.

Almost at the same time as he cast the Banishing Spell, Jason could see his opponent attempting the same action as his team in the previous round. The Brazilian boy clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction, "Not creative..." his mouth spat the negative comment with ease, especially when he saw that the projectiles were successfully dodged by Naiane, "...also useless."

The hard fog seemed to befriend the Durmstrang team, or it was just instant karma teaching Jason a lesson, "Dammit."

The top hand of the game only lasted a few seconds before the other team decided to set their sight on him, as Vasilius felt a spell hit him. It wasn't the kind that'd cause damage, but it sure did throw him back a few units. Passing through the fog was easy as hell with his prior experience in it, but the projectile he'd thrown? That'd missed, slightly away from the target, but still a miss.

A groan escaped his mouth as he got to flying past the units, with the annoyance one would have doing 1v2 after Magnus's pathetic out within the starting line.
