Finding Our Voice Hogwarts Choir Club

Kennedy clasped her hands in front of her to keep them from trembling. She had successfully finished prepping the rehearsal room for the choir practice, even with the minor hiccup, and now people were beginning to filter in. The chairs were set up in 2 rows that curved to make a semi circle around a grand piano. Kennedy stood by the piano, kindly directing people where to sit as they came in. There were several pieces of paper on each chair. One contained a handwritten welcome letter, while the other two were pages of sheet music. Light conversation filled the room as everyone waited for the whole choir to arrive.
Finally the murmur faded as Kennedy stepped forward and began to speak.
“Hello everyone, uhm welcome to our first choir meeting this year, I know we have some returning faces and some old ones! I don’t have a lot to say except I’m really excited for what’s to come!”
That felt like a bitter lie at that moment. Kennedy knew somewhere inside her she was excited, but right now there was still a lingering feeling of anxiety.
“For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Kennedy, I am a second year and our choir leader! We also have Simon our section leader and Nick as our conductor and rehearsal pianist.” Kennedy paused for a moment to make sure the three could say anything if they wanted too, then she took a deep breath and started again.
“Why don’t we jump right in, I guess. I have two songs for us to sing, the sheet music should have been on your chair. Some of you might be able to read it but some of you might not and that's alright, it's why we learn it together! We are doing “The Greatest Show” which is from a popular muggle musical, and then “You Stole my Cauldron but You Can't Have my Heart” to honor Celestina Warbeck. We're going to learn and sing the latter today.” She turned to Nick, “Would you mind playing it for us?”

- This is a RP for the Hogwarts Choir Club, all are welcome but please sign up here before you post
- Feel free to roleplay entering and conversation with friends
- Slight Godmode perms given, Kennedy might give you a smile or wave if you know her, but if I think its over stepping I will owl you asking to change it.
- Right now we are just roleplaying the beginning of the rehearsal, I will add another post when we start “singing”
- There is no perfect way to do this, your character has been given sheet music, they might have vast musical knowledge, no musical knowledge, or somewhere in between! Have creative liberty with this because that's what makes it fun!

- Lyrics can be found online so if you aren’t familiar feel free to look up a video or search up the lyrics
- All RP rules apply
- Just to make life simple, assume that Mezzos are singing the melody, the Sopranos are singing the upper harmony, the Altos/Tenors are lower harmony, or the choir is singing in unison!
