MAGNUS BLACKWOOD
───────── xx CODED BY ELENA CLARK
⚔︎
Magnus wasn’t one to say it out loud, but he paid the manor attention a lot, even from the littlest details. From the way the floor boards creaked when you step onto them a wrong way from the fountain in the back of the garden laid frozen and untouched while the statues on it laid dormant. Magnus was someone who quietly observed things from a distance and just didn’t speak on them. Wasn’t much he could do being trapped in his manor for so many years so this was a way his younger self felt like he was free from his mother rule, when in reality he was trapped inside a manor that felt more like a prison. So when he finally arrived home from Durmstrang just to notice his fathers bags nearly placed outside his heart stopped as that was weird.

Sure it wasn’t unusual for his father to have bags outside as he would have suitcases of supplies when he went on his trips to visit other strange and unique magical creatures and beast. Magnus enjoyed times like that as when he was younger he would always wait on the day he knew his father was returning to see if he brought any creatures back or any cool gifts for Magnus. Magnus and his father had a different dynamic compared to him and his mother, with his father Magnus felt seen. He felt heard like someone was finally listening to what he wanted to do in life and not try and make his entire life planned out for him already. It was one of the main reasoning Magnus had a soft spot for any type of animal or insect or just creatures in general, as it reminded him of his father and brought pleasant memories for him.

But something was off about the way these suitcases were outside, there was a lot more than usual and wasn’t just his usually work suitcases or bags. It was way too many bags to just be a simple work trip and some even looked like personal belongings, a pit began to form inside of Magnus as he just stared at all the bags. Something didn’t feel right and honestly he truly didn’t know if he wanted to know the answer to that. As he slowly opened the door of the manor he was meant with the sounds of screaming as it sounded like his mother was having a screaming match with someone, a male voice that sounded familiar almost like..it was his father. “You are so worthless! Can’t even fight for your wife can you! God why did I even decide to marry you” His mother Astrid yelled as Magnus heard things be thrown what he assumed was across the room before breaking. Before he could even question was his father alright he heard something he has never heard in his life. His father angry.

“How dare you! Me fight for you ? Why would I fight for a woman who clearly didn’t love me if you easily go around sleeping with other men! I should be saying why did I decide to marry a lying bitch but I have more class than that. Something YOU wouldn’t know!” Magnus froze as he heard the words coming out of his fathers mouth, his mother had cheated on his father…he knew his mother wasn’t a good person, in his eyes she was a very good contestant for being Satan in disguise but even Magnus never thought she would snoop so low as to cheat on his father, a man who did everything for there family and he just threw him away like he was noting.

Magnus standing at the bottom of the stairs was pissed, no not just pissed absolutely furious. He hated his mother more now, he wanted to see her suffer for the pain she was now making his father go through. Just the sound of his sadness and heartbreak Magnus heard from him sent stakes right through his hear hurting him. He slowly made his way up the stairs, each step feeling longer and longer as if the stairs kept stretching further and further away the more he went up.

Once he was upstairs his breath felt rugged as he didn’t know what he was suppose to do. He felt like his world was falling a part with every step and he didn’t know how he felt or what he could feel. He continued to listen to them argue till his mother said something that made him stop in his tracks and hold his chest as it felt tighter. “Magnus won’t be going with you, that’s one thing I’m postive you can’t take!” No..no this couldn’t be, he had to be hearing things right ? His mother had never once cared about him before so whatever her reason was for wanting to keep him with her in this manor now, Magnus wanted absolutely no part in it.

He now stood in the door way as he looked at his mother his red eyes overflowing with fury as he looked at her. “NO! I’m not staying with you, I don’t want to spend another moment in this manor with you, I’m going with dad” As he yelled with such raw emotion both Astrid and Axel turned not expecting Magnus to have been here so soon and listening on there conversation. Axel looked at his son with a solem face almost as if his heart was breaking more when he saw the fury in Magnus. His mother however, Astrid didn’t seem to care one bit, in fact she doubled down on her statement. “Magnus, dear don’t be demented, you finally see how the world truly works. Now don’t be a dummy you will be staying with me, because you’re mother knows-“

Before she could even finish her sitting the sound of Magnus fist colliding into the wall echoed all around them, Astrid opened her eyes, in shock but also cold as she looked like she was calculating something in that brain of hers. Axel on the other hand looked at his son with worry, he could clearly see this would be leading to a destructive path that would not be good for Magnus and he wanted to stop it before it got worse. “NO! I’d die before I spent another moment trapped in this god awful manor with YOU! You can not stop me, I’m going with dad and that’s final!” As he yelled the vibrations from his voice as well as when he slammed his hand against the wall, those same vibrations echoed as it shook a picture frame of Astrid, Axel and young Magnus. It fell off the shelf shattering the glass leaving it broken, just like there family was now.

As it laid there on the ground Magnus stormed off from there door down to his room as he slammed the door behind him locking it as he continued to breath heavily. He just slowly stumbled towards his mirror looked at himself in it, all he saw was a boy. A boy hurting and angry because he was filled with so much rage without anywhere to put it. As he stared at himself he got more pissed off at what he saw and clenched his fist before pulling it back and punching his mirror, shattering it right from the middle as cracks appeared all on it before some of the shards were falling onto the floor. “DAMN IT!” that didn’t seem to fuel his rage though, as he continued to lash out, he slammed another full body mirror of his down onto the ground shattering it as he made a total mess of his room even punching a hole in the wall as he just sat on his floor allowing himself for the first time in years to do something he didn’t do often. Cry, he allowed himself to cry and just be alone where he would sob quietly so no one could hear how he struggled, so he would suffer alone.

As he laid in his floor, eyes red trimmed from the tears that stained his skin. He slowly looked around as the destruction he caused and made a note to clean it later as he wouldn’t want Pinky to..wait where was Pinky! It was a thought that suddenly plague him as he had no clue where Pinky, Blinky, Inky or Clyde was and he honestly didn’t realize how he missed them, as usually when a mess was made they were usually the first ones to clean it up and make sure all was alright before replacing it. Magnus wasn’t a pureblood who saw house elves as lesser creatures or anything like that. In his eyes he was no better than one being a dhampir and all and even before he realized he was a dhampir which he still had yet to confront his mother tho she did know he knew from the subtle differences in his appearance.

But right now he couldn’t dwell on the lies his mothers been telling he needed to find where Pinky and the others were at currently. As he walked around he went to a very smaller door off to where the stair well was as he opened the door and peaked his head inside. As he looked inside at all the other house elves he didn’t see Pinky or the others anywhere at all and it seemed none of the other house elves could figure out just where they had gone. It was starting to frustrate him more and more as Magnus needed to make sure they were alright and weren’t harmed or anything.

He felt clueless someone had to know where Pinky and the others were at, and if there was anyone who would know where they were it would be his mother. He no longer heard yelling so he knew his mother and father were not in the same room together which must have meant that his mother was alone and this would be his best chance at finding out what happened to Pinky. As Magnus move towards her study the floor felt heavier as if one wrong step and he would sink right into the depths below never to be seen again. No right now he couldn’t think about that he had more pressing matters to attend to. As he stepped into the study he saw his mother looking at her accountant book, the one that their family accountant kept tabs on every purchase she financial decision made by his mother and father.

He took a deep breath before approaching, he was tired of others making his life harder than it already is. It was time for him to take back a bit of control. “Mother, where are Pinky and the others ? They are missing and I know you would be most likely to know where they are.” As Magnus spoke his red eyes stared at his mother waiting for her to finally look at him, Magnus has never officially confronted his mother on anything before as he felt powerless and helpless whenever he had to deal with her. As he waited for her response he thought about if Vasilius would be proud of him if he heard about him finally standing up to his mother, of course he wouldn’t mention the other stuff that happened as that would make him be seen as weak and he was not to about to go through that as then he’d have to get into a few fights to get his reputation back, and he was attempting to be a changed man.

Astrid slowly turned to look at her son, her red eyes staring into his while she just looked his appearance up and down, she seemed unimpressed with him to say the least. “What is it now ? Can’t you see I have things to attend to now with your father planning to leave. I truly do not have time for this pitty display, so do please spit it out.” She truly was not in the mood to deal with one of Magnus little tantrums that he was prone to do and she honestly just was used to them now. “But if you must know I honestly haven’t gotten the foggiest idea where they are, such a shame really.” She continued to speak while just looking at him judgmentally, she truly couldn’t care about some house elf as at the end of the day and was always replaceable, just like people were too.

Magnus who was already fed up with her lies just looked at her before crossing his arms. “Yeah right! You someone who always keep tabs on everything in this house have no idea where Pinky, or Inky or Blinky or Clyde is ? I find that hard to believe so cut the bullshit mother and just tell me where they are!” Magnus didn’t know how much longer his mother had planned to lie to him but it wasn’t going to last long as he would be getting the answer he needed one way or another. His mother in the other hand seemed to not care one bit and doubled down on her lies. “Magnus why must everything be a screaming match with you ? Is it so hard to believe that I don’t know where they are, would I lie to you ?” Magnus could not believe her right now, how could she create a new lie within her other lie, it was just ridiculous.

“That is such bullshit! You lied about me being a dhampir so what else are you lying about ? You can’t go a damn day without lying can you ?” He was honestly staring to get fed up with his mother as she was just too much to handle a lot times and honestly he just wished he could escape from her, luckily when his father leaves he planned to leave with him. His mother did not seem to like that one bit, Astrid heads snapped forward towards him before giving a smirk as she let out a little laugh. “Ha! Fine you want me to be the bad guy ? Well fine I’ll be the bad guy. I sold them.” As she spoke the coldness of her words hit Magnus like multiple spears being thrown into his body at once from all the pain he was currently feeling.

He just stared at her his eyes dilating as he couldn’t even begin to comprehend the words she told him. His mind began to flood with multiple thoughts. She sold pinky…she sold Pinky and the other three.. His whole reality felt like it just kept falling apart and he just couldn’t figure out how to keep it together. “You…you sold them ?” As he asked his he clenched his fist feeling the anger boil inside of him more and more. Astrid just kept her cunning smirk on her face as she just looked at Magnus. “Please Magnus you’re so dramatic, there just house Elves. They are easy to replace in an instance, just like your father and just like YOU. So if I were you I’d be wise not to question my judgment.” As she spoke her aggressive nature came out while she just watched him. One thing about Astrid was good at was hitting where it hurt, she didn’t care how it made you feel or how badly it hurt. If it achieved the goal she was trying to achieve she felt happy. So some might ask what her goal was with this, it was a really simple one honestly.

She wanted to break Magnus, she felt that Magnus had became distracted and a liability for her reputation. She needed to reel him back in and make sure noting would distract him from his main purpose, which was to make her look good. Step one was cutting his father and the house elves out of the picture. Step two was now to try and control the beast that was within. Magnus could only stare feeling like he was in a never ending cycle of torment as he looked at his mother, he could see the gears in her head turning as she went from cold and cruel to a pretending act of like she felt bad for what she did. “Ugh great now I’m the one whose done wrong. Magnus just come here and let’s talk it out shall we dear?” Magnus slowly took a step back from her before running out of the room slamming the door behind him.

He needed out, he needed to find his father and try to get out as fast as possible. Magnus didn’t care if trying to escape this hell hike resulted in him dying. He would rather die and be free then be trapped here for the rest of his life. As he made his way through the manor he froze as he found his father standing by the entrance bringing down the final bag he had left before leaving the manor. Magnus waste no time walking up towards him as he stood there. His father looked at him, his looking as if he had been crying for awhile. “Magnus…I know what I am about to say may hurt you and I just want you to know I am sorry. I cherish and love you dearly my son.” His father voice broke as it sounded shaken almost like whatever he had to say was hurting him. He took a deep breath before continuing as he looked at Magnus the whole time.

“Magnus, you have to stay here at least..,just for now at least..” Magnus just looked at him and pain, no..he couldn’t stay here with her, he wouldn’t. He can’t lose another person he already lost Pinky and the others he couldn’t lose his dad to, the one person who could understand him he just can’t. “Father I-i don’t understand?” Axel sighed before slowly making his way to Magnus and hugging him as he whisper into his ear. “Magnus my son, you are the bravest and strongest boy I know…I promise you this I will not leave you here for long, it’s just till the divorce is finalize and we go to court for custody of our belonging as well as for you. I will do all I can to win and bring you home with me because my home, is wherever I am with you. But you must be brave as you can get through this

Magnus just stared at him as tears began to fall from his red eyes, he hadn’t even registered them at first as he watched his father grabbing all of his bags before apparating away in front of him as Magnus slowly dropped to his knees looking up at the sky. He knew this wasn’t the end of his nightmare, but rather the beginning of his own personal hell, trapped with Satan herself.
