When Hogwarts first announced the Ministry themed camp, I already knew which cabin I wanted to be in. Magical Creatures! What animal lover wouldn't want to spend a whole month with Hippogriffs, Dragons and Unicorns? I raced to the sign-ups, rapidly wrote my name in scrawled handwriting and left to pack for my trip!

I packed my suitcase ages before I needed to leave. I brought quills and ink to take notes, books in case I got bored (which probably wouldn't happen because who gets bored of Phoenixes?), and butterbeer to share around. I looked forward to meeting my cabinmates.

I walked up to the front of my cabin, reading my soon to be friend's names. Quinn Brook, Matilde O’Fionnagan, Eonaria Kabukimono, Phelan Emile, Cinder Blaze, Saanvika Thota, Maria Maiwen and me, Nessarose Goldwins. Their names were beautiful! I open the door to find a room full of smiling faces.

That afternoon, we set up our beds and unpacked. After dinner we played what seemed like hundreds of games of Exploding Snap, Gobstones and Chocolate Frog Card trading. We all went to bed. I smiled to myself. I couldn't wait to spend the rest of the month with my friends!

XXXHer first summer camp experience! Eonaria was a bit jittery, considering there was a likely chance there wasn't anyone she knew in her cabin. Nevertheless, she showed up bright and early on the first day, bags in hand and Yuzu snuggled in the the collar of her dress. She absolutely loved packing; It was the best part of a trip. Did she overpack? Maybe a little.

XXXEonaria checked the board for her cabin, and just as she thought, she didn't know a single person on the list. It would be hard to memorise all those names. Her cousin was coming too, but they hadn't ended up in the same cabin, probably because she had neglected to sign up for a while. She found her cabin fairly easily and went inside. The first thing that caught her attention was, of course, the decorations. It was absolutely beautiful inside. New inspiration for my room acquired! She was a little worried about how her cabinmates would react to Yuzu, but it was a cabin of animal lovers, right? Surely they would be fine. Not all animal lovers love all animals, her brain chided, which was definitely true. Eonaria was not a big fan of certain odd water-dwelling creatures and the big scary creepy crawlies. Maybe it would be worse if Yuzu was a big, full grown snake, but she was still a small baby, so she was much cuter.

XXXShe kept walking until she found the common room, where a few of her cabinmates already were. "Hi, everyone!" Eonaria greeted with a smile. First years, maybe? "I'm Eonaria, a third year Gryffindor. And this is Yuzu. Don't be scared, she won't bite." Well, she hadn't bitten anyone yet. Yuzu was a bit impulsive. "It smells a bit like grass in here," Yuzu announced, lifting her head slightly. Considering the plants hanging around the cabin, that would be accurate. Eonaria hid a small giggle. Just then, it occurred to her. It wasn't a very good idea to spread the fact that she had a snake to this many people, was it?

XXX...too late. Eonaria picked a bunk and put her belongings down. Oh, there was even a space at the foot of the bed for Yuzu to stay. How thoughtful! But the snake would likely refuse to stay and just come over to snuggle on her instead.

Summer camp had appeared to be the only way to escape from social events. But, I didn’t realise that I would be sharing a cabin with loads of other people. At least it was all about magical creatures.
When I’d arrived, I had looked at the notice board, trying to find my name. Eventually, I’d found it, alongside lots of other names that I didn’t recognise. I groaned, and headed off to the cabin, carrying my trunk behind me.
Soon I found it, and went in. There were only a few people there. Two young ones, and one about my age, who definitely didn’t go to Beauxbatons. How did I know that? She had just introduced herself as a third year Gryffindor, the house all of my family had been when they got to go to Hogwarts. I introduced myself quickly.
“Cinder. I’m from Beauxbatons.”
Then, I walked through to one of the bedrooms. It had three beds - a bunk bed and a single. The Gryffindor girl had claimed one of the bunks, but I didn’t know which. So, I walked over to the single bed.
“I’ll take this one. If you don’t mind.”
Whether she minded or not wouldn’t affect whether I slept there. But, after a summer of social events, manners were engraved into my mind. I put down my trunk, and finally lifted Sunflower out of my pocket, putting her on my shoulder. I turned to the other girl.
“Your snake’s cute.”
