Stormy Accusations Closed w. Zyk

OPEN THREAD, but let @Zykeal Lane post first! ^^
An entire week had gone by since the disaster of the Blossom Ball, but Ivy was yet to talk to Zyk. It wasn't that much of a surprise that they hadn't spoken yet, as they didn't share any classes - although, she had thought that he might've at least acknowledged one of the brief waves, smiles or hellos she sent him when passing each other in the hallways. Ivy had chalked it down to him being distracted and not noticing. After all, there were a lot of people in the hallways between classes, and Zyk had his own friends too, so she simply brushed it off and went on her way. She would seek him out later. There was plenty of time.

Ivy often wondered what had happened to Zyk after she had left to save Ana. She had been too concerned with the fact that her doppelganger was on fire to keep track of her ball date, and she hadn't thought of the redhead until afterwards. Ivy kept forgetting to seek him out after that, probably because she was so exhausted all the time nowadays. she wasn't doing so great. To her peers, it would seem that she had it together, but honestly? Ivy was throwing all of her energy into studying, filling her time with other activities, refusing to let herself dwell on the Blossom Ball.

Why had she come down to the Lake then if she had been studying so much, then? Well, it was because of the stupid library elves. They demanded Ivy left for lunch, fretting that she would starve if she stayed during the lunch hours and practically ripping the books from her hands. She wasn't hungry, as she told them repeatedly, but they wouldn't listen, and eventually, she left the library just to get away from them. However, she took a slight detour, walking down to the Great Lake instead of the Hall, muttering about how infuriating house-elves were. Brilliant, she thought miserably as she walked along the path. Ivy was a little unsure of why she had chosen here, of all places. It was a beautiful day, no doubt, but, well, what was she supposed to do now?

But she would discover that her trip was not in vain, because sitting along the edge of the water was a familiar-looking redhead. Ivy blinked, her footsteps slowing slightly as she tried to make sure that she had the right person before running up. Ah, yes. It was unmistakeably Zyk, sitting on his own. What was he doing here? Ivy's face split into a grin and she snuck up behind him, covering his eyes with her hands as she approached. When she spoke, her tone was playful and lighthearted. "Guess who?"
Just to clear up any confusion, Ivy has no idea that Zyk is mad at her :)

Sitting at the edge of the lake, Zykeals knees were pulled up to his chest with his arms wrapped around his legs, hugging them closer so that his chin could rest upon the top of his knees. Lids were closed over those golden hues as he contemplated a vast array of different things; the year had gone by so quickly and there seemed to be much on his mind at the time. A soft sigh was released from him as he lifted his lids and looked over the great lake, contemplating ongoing for a short swim near the shore. Unfortunately, the giant squid was across the lake, he often heard if you tickled its tentacles it wouldn't bother you if you'd go for a swim, maybe that was just a rumor though.

Instead, his thoughts dragged on about various things then, it hadn't been too long since the events at the ball and he was greatly aware that he needed to spend the summer practicing his wand movements. Although he was quite natural at charms, he still had a range of other subjects that he needed improving on. In this regard, he shifted his focus down to where he had set his wand. The ivory-colored aspen wood wand was settled across the top of his shoes, just resting there, within reach for him if he needed it at the time. Wary was he now that the school seemed a lot more dangerous than it had once before, how negligent of the staff, he thought.

Going home for the summer was going to be difficult, there was much to think about before doing so and it made him quite annoyed at the time to even think if there was a possibility of staying for summer courses if they even had that. After a moment, he realized that wasn't what was really annoying him, Zykeal was still quite irritated at the actions of his counterpart at the ball. Things didn't go as plan, but, when his date had freaked out when the attack of the mosps came, he made his efforts to secure her safety and get her away from what seemed to be terrifying her. Instead though, she just dropped him and ran off on her own.

His pride was somewhat hurt, he didn't realize this though in his youthful age. Instead, he just tried to pack in emotions that made no sense to him in a small compartment for later contemplation, or better yet, forgetting about the situation and the girl entirely. Unfortunately, things don't always go as plan. As Zyk resolved himself into skating by the rest of the year by focusing on the subject he was now more obsessed with, he felt soft hands clasp around his face and his vision became dark as he heard the girls' voice, the one he's been avoiding at all costs. Another sigh escaped him, he really wanted to smile, for whatever reason her voice made that natural reaction from him. Zykeal would suppress that reaction, he had already made up his mind, he didn't need the distraction.

"Oh, it's you ya'?" he remarked in a dry tone. A shoulder roll was given then, softly trying to use his shoulder to shrug her off. As he did so, he'd shift a hand down to grasp his wand and move to stand up once more, keeping himself turned away from her for now. The twirl of his wand like a drummers stick then ensued, his hands naturally letting the wood pass through his fingers rhythmically. "Whatcha need Ivy?" he asked, still refusing to look her way as he stared out towards the great lake once more. There was an edge of stoicism to his features, trying to keep them as passive as possible, trying to treat her almost as if he'd treat any other student. Those golden hues shifted past the lake for a moment then, seeing that the beautiful day might turn sour as a hint of black clouds seemed to be rolling in from the Scottish highlands.

It was a bit of a risky move considering the fact that they had known each other for only a month, but in all of their past encounters, Ivy had been at ease with Zyk and had started to consider him a friend. She had never really met anyone like Zyk - someone she got along with so well and so quickly. Ivy had been a little unnerved by how well they got along, having been used to holding everyone out at an arm's length, but it was like they were made to be good friends. Ivy was certain of it; he was her platonic soulmate, and she was his. He wouldn't mind a harmless prank, right?

Wrong.

For a moment, Ivy thought Zyk was going to laugh, but instead, he sighed and responded in a cold tone, as if she were someone who had greatly offended him. Ivy's smile faded slightly, hands falling to her side, although she was more perplexed than hurt at this point. As far as she could tell, she hadn't done anything wrong. Maybe he was just having a bad day? These thoughts didn't really help - Zyk wasn't even looking at her. There was no sign of the cheerfulness he had displayed in their past meetings; it was replaced by a stony sort of anger that made Ivy's stomach flip.

Still, the Gryffindor valiantly brushed this aside and smiled again bravely, walking around him to stand on the other side of Zyk so he would have to look at her. She kept her tone playful, although it held a note of caution. Ivy wasn't quite sure what was going on right now, but she would tread lightly until she did. "Nothing, I just thought I'd come talk to you. Everything's gone absolutely mad, hasn't it?" Although she didn't say it outright, she was definitely implying to the Blossom Ball. Ivy actually had no idea what had happened to him after she left to save Ana, and although she was more than curious, it would have to wait. She couldn't just ask all of a sudden, could she?

Ivy kept talking, trying to fill in the silence. This was a very strange experience; it was usually her who never said anything, and other people who had to talk. It had never been any other way before, Ivy just didn't talk that much. She would watch him for any sign of a reaction to her words carefully, grey eyes focused on Zyk intently. Something was wrong, she could feel it... Zyk wasn't acting like normal. "How has class been? Some of the teachers set so much homework, don't they? It's like they think that if we have lots of work, we'll forget about..." she trailed off, not really sure if Zyk wanted to talk about the Ball just yet. "Never mind," Ivy amended.

She looked out across the lake. It appeared that there was to be a change of weather; the sun and the blue sky seemed to disappear rapidly, overtaken by dark clouds that would surely bring on a storm soon. The mirror-like lake rippled slightly, a chilly wind sweeping through. As Ivy would soon find out, the weather wasn't the only thing that was about to change - and not in a good, way, either.

May was carefully walking down the grounds to the Great Lake. Careful not to slip or fall, she walked trough some rocks. As she looked into the distance, she could see a familiar face (or hair, for She could see @Ivy Bellamy's back, but not her face. Somehow, she could still recognize her.). Maybe it was her long time no seen friend Ivy Bellamy. The one she had met when she was seven years old.

May couldn't believe her at first, when the girl had said that she was a witch (because May Moonstar was a Muggle born, much for her dismay). But they had quickly been good friends. Very sister like anyways.
She had learned to trust the Gryffindor, but since she hadn't seen her for a long time, she couldn't tell her the latest things that were happening in her life.

"Ok, May. You can go talk to her. A cute hello and run. She won't bite." she stared at the Back of Ivy Bellamy, and looked at a red hair that was standing there. "Oh, yeah. I bet she has a new best friend. Since she didn't write me or anything..." Jealousy was eating May like a sandwich. But she knew better than being jealous of her own friend. May should've been happy for her, for making a new friend anyways.

"Hey Ivy." May murmured behind her.

Zykeals orbs never left the sky as the clouds started to shift in a way that made Zyk think that the day was going to turn sour very shortly. Ivy started to mention how things had gone mad, he couldn't agree more, but he decided to offer her nothing more than a snicker, a slight curl to his lip was made as well but Zyk corrected his features into a more passive nature to try and keep his stoicism in check. She continued on then, asking about classes and whatnot, he really wasn't trying to pay her any attention at the time, finding it a chore to be even around her at the moment.

An air of resentment was clearly in the air, you could almost smell it, Ivy didn't seem to think that there was anything wrong with the two, but, Zykeal thought the complete opposite of their situation. Those golden hues shifted down then, looking towards Ivy as she stood there in front of him, seemingly waiting for him to acknowledge her presence. "Ivy, I don't think we..." he started, as she looked out over the lake, but there came another voice and Zykeal stopped what he was going to say and turned his head to look over his shoulder at the new person who had arrived.

There was no smile to be had from Zykeal, this wasn't someone he could use as an excuse to leave, it was just another person vying for Ivy's attention. Instead of continuing on with what he wanted to say to Ivy, he turned back to look down at Ivy and a wicked little smile cornered the edge of his mouth, "Suppose' you ought to go save someone else, clearly the world needs you," Zyk sneered, a slight huff of a laugh was given and he shifted around her to where he could move down closer towards the bank of the lake. It was his intention to head in the lake for a swim along the banks, not too deep to get dragged in by what things were lurking in the deeper waters.

Zykeal was once more focused on Ivy, before the ball, but his focus had shifted after the events of the ball, "Thanks for making sure I made it out of the ball alive, by the way," he said under his breath. The fact was, she left him and didn't even care to check if he made it out uninjured or anything. It was a blow to his feelings and he couldn't get over that fact, she just had bigger priorities than himself and he understood that now.

When Zyk still didn't look at her, Ivy shifted her weight from one foot to the other, the uneasy feeling in her stomach growing by the second. There was no denying the heavy gloominess that hung over them now, and the Gryffindor's mind was racing as she frantically tried to think of anything she might have done to offend him since their last meeting. Her mind drew a blank. She looked at him as he finally turned to look at her, the hurt and confusion registering on her face. He was acting like she was a total stranger - no, worse.

What did I do? What happened? Eyes lifting to watch the sky to hide her hurt, she tugged a hand through her dark brown hair, noticing that the weather was beginning to turn for the worse. Ivy was beginning to wonder if she should just leave, seeing as she wasn't getting anything out of Zyk, but then he began to speak, looking at her for the first time in this meeting.

She would lean in, hanging onto his words as she waited for an answer, an explanation for this cold treatment, but before he could finish his sentence, another voice butted in, one that Ivy thought she recognised. May...? A quick glance over her shoulder would confirm her suspicions. Ivy sighed as she turned to face her, unsure whether she was annoyed or relieved that her Hufflepuff friend had joined their conversation. She hadn't spoken to May for months now, despite having seen her around the castle quite a lot, and there was a lot of tension between the two girls now. Still, Ivy smiled at the Hufflepuff and opened her mouth to say hello when Zyk spoke up again.

Her smile faded at his next words yet again. She really didn't understand Zyk at all; why was he being like this? He was smiling, but there was nothing happy about it - his tone was angry, stony, hateful. "I..." Ivy's eyes flickered to May for a second, apologetic, before moving to stand in front of Zyk again. "What's wrong with you?" she demanded. "You're acting so... strange."

Zyk shifted forwards, and muttered something so quietly that Ivy would have missed it had she not been waiting for it. Her breath hitched in the back of her throat, mind flashing back to the moment she had left him at the Ball. Ivy had pushed him away in an attempt to keep him safe from whatever mad plan Ana was hatching or the dangers of the mosps, but now that he said it like that, she could see it the way he did... she had left without warning, without an explanation of where she was going or what she was trying to do.

The sun went behind a cloud. The clouds rolled over, taking over the blueness of the sky.

Ivy's cheeks flushed pink, her stomach dropping as she finally understood why Zyk was so cold. For a moment, she froze, her grey eyes staring at the Gryffindor boy with hurt and understanding, an apology on the edge of her tongue. "I - I..."

Then she caught herself.

She was Ivy Bellamy, the girl who never apologised for anything, least of all for hurting a touchy teenage boy's feelings. Her pride would not allow it. Instead of saying she was sorry and trying to smooth things over, she took a step back, lip trembling as she spoke. "Are you kidding me?" Her heart wasn't fully in it, the arguing, because she knew that this time, she was wrong and he was right. I should have stayed with him, I should have been a better friend, I should have... "S-someone nearly died at the Ball, and you're angry about this? May," the Gryffindor turned to look at her friend. "M-May was there too. We were all in danger - so were you, I wanted to get you out before... before..." Ivy swallowed, her throat dry and her voice stuck in her throat. "Something bad was going to happen. I - I knew something was going to happen... I just..."

May knew immediately that her friend and the red head boy were in odd terms. First of all, Ivy was all happy and gay, while Zykeal was all distracted and quite furious. May immediately knew that both him and May were about to become enemies. She, May, could not stand a person that was always grumpy.

When Ivy turned to talk to her, May immediately knew what they were talking about. She had experienced that too much. Dates that had been distracted and had abandoned their partner because of the fire and mosps. But why did people has to do such a big deal? It was a moment of distress, and people did not have to be the whole time with their partner. Really, May felt as thought people were out of their minds.

"Well, I think Ivy is right Zykeal. People, friend or foes, were about to die out there. Take Anastasia Beckett for an example. She was on fire. Are you so selfish just to think that Ivy abandoned you?"

May looked at Ivy and smiled nervously at her. She had missed her, and she would've had wanted to shout at her that moment, but she wanted to stick up her anyways. So her lips turned into a grimace-smile like thing that nobody could describe. Then, she looked back at the Gryffindor boy, and crossed her arms. She, May, didn't know where her Blossom Ball partner was herself. But she still didn't feel annoyed. She knew that he had escaped. Somehow.

A roll of the eyes was necessary as the girl in front of him started to mention that she 'tried to get him out', "What are you even talking about," he accused her, "Despite the fact you were trembling in fear and I.." he noted heatedly, "I was the one who wanted to get you out, to make sure that you were okay.." he shook his head in annoyance, "this doesn't matter, you made your choices, they weren't me," he concluded. When she shifted her attention to May, he got annoyed, that girl who always seemed to be present no matter where he went was such a bother to him. Golden irises poured into the girl who interrupted his and Ivys moment, a flicker of a thought crossed him that he wouldn't have been so harsh with Ivy if that one didn't come to her defense.

May had spoken up to a situation that she had no idea about, butting in her own comments that seemed so trivial to Zyk that he couldn't just let them slide, "You, do you ever mind your own business? Seriously," he shook his head once more as he looked back towards the waters of the Great Lake, "Find your own boyfriend, girlfriend, whatever you need to annoy." he stated bluntly, paying her no more attention as she had no idea what had happened between them, to begin with. "Seems you have a new girlfriend, Ivy," he said as he let his eyes drift down to the girl who kept pushing herself in front of him, "I suggest you don't leave this one, this time," he said without a slight bit of emotion upon his tone.

All that Zyk knew at the ball was that Ivy was in a right state when she was with him, when the darkness loomed, he took care to make sure that she was going to be safe. She didn't act the same to him though, it was a one-sided feeling and Zyk understood that to his core that she didn't care about him as he did for her. It was a brief 'relationship', but, sometimes things are just drawn so clearly that even this 11-year old boy could paint the picture with a simple brush. There were too many emotions for the young one to cope with at the time, it was hard for him at this school and it was buried deep within him now. This was just the latest tragedy that plagued him at Hogwarts. The one flower that seemed to bloom in front of him, wilted so quickly.

With his butterfly showing the ugly side of her wings, he decided now was a good time to step to the side of the girl as the storms continued to loom overhead. Zykeal was set on having a dip in the midst of the Great Lake and no simple storm, even the one in the form of a girl, was going to deter his needs at the moment. Arms shifted, tugging himself out of the outfit that he was adorning at the moment. The wand was settled to reside between his teeth as he moved towards the waterfront with just what seemed to be a pair of trunks that were beneath the outer layers, clearly, he was ready, as he waited there for a moment longer, golden irises staring out towards the storm warily for a moment longer.

It was just a second before he turned back to Ivy with his eyes as much stoicism as he could, but he couldn't hold the little swell of tear that formed upon the side of his lids, he said nothing, but turned again and made a few steps towards the water at that point where he knew he'd feel more comfortable in. The water was the most inviting, the soft drips of water started on his shoulders at that point and signified that his actions seemed correct at that point, onwards towards the water he'd shift slowly. A hand would come up to grip the wand within his teeth and he'd just stop for the moment, knee-deep in the water, staring towards the darkening clouds that lingered overhead.

The weather was quickly turning sour, matching the mood that hung over the trio as they stood at the edge of the Lake. The wind was whistling in Ivy's ears and rain fell from the sky - it was only a light fall of rain for now, but judging off the dark colour of the clouds that had rolled in, she assumed that it would soon turn into a storm. A pale pink blush would tinge her cheeks as Zyk mentioned how scared she had been at the Ball, not wanting to think about the moment she had shown so much vulnerability to someone she had known for barely a month. But it hadn't felt like just a month, it had felt like she had known her Ball date for so much longer...

She had known that Zyk wanted to get her out, of course - she had wanted to get out herself. But when Ivy had seen Ana running by, she had thought that her doppelganger was going to get herself killed - and she couldn't help but run after her. "I - I..." The Gryffindor was at a loss for words. What could she say? She had abandoned him in the middle of the Ball without a word of warning, choosing to save Ana instead of Zyk. There was no way around it - Ivy had most definitely chosen someone else over Zyk, and no matter how honourable her intentions were, it had still ended up with someone getting hurt. A sudden loneliness engulfed the girl, her heart squeezing with pain. Why was it that she always ended up hurting someone?

May was quick to defend her, speaking quickly and almost stumbling over her own words. Ivy knew she ought to be grateful that she had someone who was on her side, but she only felt irritated by the girl she had once considered her sister. "Don't," she hissed out of the corner of her mouth. "You're making it worse." And she was. Because Zyk was turning away now, face expressionless and without emotion, his eyes only drifting back down to her to deliver the final blow. The comment was intended to hurt, and it had the desired effect. Ivy stumbled backwards slightly, her lips parting slightly as she inhaled sharply. It was as though he had punched her in the stomach, for suddenly she could not breathe, and her grey eyes filled with tears that stung her eyes. What had made this situation hurt so much? It was because he was right. Ivy could take false accusations any day. She didn't mind if it wasn't true. But this... this...

"Zyk..." she whispered pleadingly. The rain was falling harder now, the wind felt like tiny needles pricking at her skin. A flash of lightning, a rumble of thunder. Zyk turned to look at her, and Ivy thought she saw tears pricking at his eyes too - but then he moved forward again, towards the water. She didn't quite register what was going on until he stopped moving, knee-deep in the water, and she panicked, running after him for the third time that afternoon. It was almost ironic, she thought, that it was him walking away from her now. Oh, how the tables had turned...

"What are you doing?" She gripped his arm tightly, trying to pull him away from the water. The edge of her skirt was now clinging to her legs - there was no doubt that her dress was ruined, but that was the least of her worries. "You can't swim in this weather, you'll kill yourself! I - just come back to castle and we can talk... Zyk..." Ivy had once made a rule that she would never cry in public, but she was only human, and there were times, like now, when the tears just wouldn't stop flowing. As they rolled down her cheeks, she suddenly found herself grateful for the stormy weather.

No one could see you cry in the rain.

Well, that was it. Ivy didn't want her to be her friend. She liked a boy that was about to drown himself into a stupid lake with a giant squid. Well, if he wanted to drown himself, fine. He would not exist anymore, and maybe, just maybe, Ivy would come to her again. Be her friend. Not the Irish's friend. May didn't move. She was just smiling as she looked at Zykeal Lane, wanting to drown himself, and Ivy trying to stop him. He deserved it. If he wanted to drown himself, then, he was sane. Not insane.

But May knew that it wasn't right. Zykeal was Ivy's friend. And she wanted Zykeal to live. Deep down May knew that what she was thinking wasn't right. Her smile turned into a frown, as she thought of what to do. I shouldn't leave him drown like that. May thought. If he drowns, Ivy would think that it was my fault. I- without thinking again, May tried to help. "Don't drown! Y-you don't deserved it! Ack. gosh, that boy was heavy. Had he eaten a lot of chicken wings on his way to that place? Well, that would obviously drown him fast.

"Get up! You don't want that squid to eat you!!"

What she was saying was pointless. The boy wouldn't get out. He was going to stay there, May thought, and die. And Ivy would blame her. May would have to get all the blame, and she wouldn't have any friends because Hufflepuff already had its group. The rain was falling fast. May couldn't see anything, because the rain and the tears she was shedding were blocking her view.

Im not strong enough. If he dies, It's going to be all my fault.

If there was someone in that world that blamed herself more, it was May. She wasn't strong. It wasn't easy for her to pull someone up. And even less, a boy.
