A smile crept onto Percy Todd's lips as he crossed his arms and stared at his teammate and newfound friend Damien. He looked quite sheepish, but the Coloradan knew the boy was being- as the British said- rather cheeky. If he had to rank his hiding skills, he would have to settle at a-
"Negative four- and that's if I'm being generous. Why's a british boy like you so particularly bad at that? Aren't you guys good at hiding? Or is that just your emotions and need to have a proper manner about theeself-" Percy Todd mocked in an over the top accent, pretending to tighten the tie around his neck as he snickered.
He started to move backwards, glancing down as to not trip over anything. The hissing of his Viking teammate nearly scared him half to death, the thought that it was a fanged viper consuming his thoughts entirely. Wiping a bead of sweat off of his forehead, he now faced the lovely Damien again, and he tilted his head, smiling. "Come find me after the match finishes- we have to keep in touch!" Percy Todd nodded briefly, before racing off to join Haaland.
At this point in time, the blonde didn't quite care where the flag was. Was he still gonna look for it like his scary, monstrously tall teammate was telling him to? Surely. It wasn't like he had a choice. In fact, Percy Todd was quite sure that he'd end up face planted like all the players that Haaland had tackled. Maybe he'd prefer to be working with the blue haired girl instead...
"Haaland, I know I'm a sports player and can deal with the hustle... but do you think we could take a break? My lungs feel so... muggy and foggy in this air-?" He asked, wiping his forehead as they trudged.

Damien just looked at Percy who seemed to have an amused smile creeping onto his lips as he looked at Damien. He had to admit Percy little mocking accent was funny very incorrect but still funny. Damien decided to give him a taste of his own medicine and try to copy some of the main American accents he ever heard. He truly didn’t realize there are so many different ones. “Well, ya try and hide yourself in this hot weather with the blistering sun out! I’m better at hiding in dark spaces not bright and sunny!” He gave a little snicker after he spoke as he defied to finish it off with pretending he was tipping a giant cowboy hat. Damien honestly was having fun meeting other people from different schools were always fun and Percy felt like the life of the party at the moment, he has a great sense of humor too maybe Cyrus was wrong about people at Ilvermorny having such great humor. Maybe they just couldn’t show themselves till someone of Cyrus greatness left. Damien just smiled and nodded as he would love to keep in touch with Percy as it sounded absolutely delightful. As he watched Percy head off he stood there for a second debating what he should excatly do before deciding he would go a different direction in hopes of trying to find the other teams flag, did he have any clue where he was going. No not at all but it was a shot in the dark which was worth the try, he just truly hopped it would be worth it as this way if he did succeed he would help his team out greatly, granted he still didn’t know what he was going to do but he would figure it out. |

xxxThe sudden onslaught of heat made her stumble on her feet, yet Ellaine bore through it. A remarkable feat! She was even impressed with her own state -- her immune system was simply not known for being all-hale-and-hearty, though it ended up being a moot point. Whatever Ellaine might have decided to do was of no consequence, considering how their flag was now very much not safely in their hands anymore. Her attempt to take hold of the flag was in vain, as the brown-haired asshat got his hands on it first--
"FREDRICK SUCCESSFULLY GRABS THE FLAG, FIVE POINTS TO THE POISON DART FROG TEAM!"
"Well, damn--" she mutered under her breath, before a distant indignation took hold of her. It was an upsetting news, already, and to add how her clothes were sticking uncomfortably to her skin... Somewhere ahead, through the canopy of leaves above her, she could hear a loud swear, promptly followed by a -- a sneeze? Was that Skylar, or was she losing her mind?
"Fucking hell! Somebody - achoo! - stop him!"
Well. She agreed with the sentiment. For the lack of anything else to do, she made an exceptionally well-executed gritting of her teeth before taking off on her chase for the flag-stealing brunet.
Ducking through low-hanging vines and suspicious-looking things was almost a second nature. It did nothing to keep her displeasure at bay, much less the creepiness that hung over her shoulder at every squish of her foot upon the once-soddy ground, now at odds with the rapidly heating air. It was... liberating, in a way that very much made the unnerving smile on her face quite at home. Her heartbeat was accelerating, and she swore she could feel it pulsing somewhere, somehow, but her shoes was thudding distractingly against the ground, and--
First things first, she supposed, and desperately hoped against all fates that she would not get... tackled. As seemed to be the ongoing trend, despite the very fact that it was a foul...
What in the bloody world was she supposed to do?

Haaland"Sprø briter..." “Silly Brits…”The boy shook his head, arms crossed as he turned around to see the strange eccentric emo boy retreating from behind nothingness. Damien spoke to Haaland's other teammate, Percy Todd, or whatever his name was, smiling and laughing like they'd been old time friends. The Norwegian tapped his foot as people dashed around, opposing team scheming right before his eyes. He tapped his foot one last time, hissing as he spun around to the noise of the American's feet trudging behind him.
A break? That was absolutely ridiculous! They were into the thick of it now, the true depth of the game where they couldn't turn back, they couldn't take a breather! If they wanted to win, they had to put their all into it, fouls and schemes and no good cheating in all it's glory. He bellowed a laugh, turning to his accomplice. "A break? You silly boy! How is it in English... The winner takes it all! And I can certainly say I want it all. You too, right?" He grinned, offering his hand for a sturdy handshake. The Viking smiled before he could see someone staring for him from afar.
He squinted, gazing around the vines and limbs and trees all along the horizon. There he was- a familiar face, a friend he knew. Among all these bizarre American and British wackos, Haaland had finally seen...
"JUDE!"
He sprinted to the boy, picking him up like he was nothing but a pillow and hugging him tightly. "Oh American! You must see my friend!" Throwing Jude back down, he gestured to his new teammate, wildly throwing his arms back and forth. "NOW this game gets serious." He flexed, grinning and chuckling deeply.

actions- doing as strategizedSage was lucky the Quidditch team had trained her to look for attacks on her team. After her teammate Frederick had snatched the other team's flag, she acted as his personal bodyguard. If only she was on her beloved broom with her trust bat, then she could've fought off attacks much easier.
Sage winced at the multitude of attempted attacks against her team. The Suriname Grasshopper's use of spells had her worried; Sage had never had the proper experience as a duellist, and, frankly, she was too afraid of casting spells that would work in her favor. Call her a hypocritical witch, but Sage was more fond of true sporting competitions that required less magical knowledge.
Sweat was dripping into Sage's eyes, but she kept her best to keep moving forward. Her knee ached and she could feel blisters forming on her foot and under her liner. The painfully humid air did nothing to help her condition. Sage could complain all day about the weather, about the pain and extra effort it took her. When it was raining and puddles had formed all over, it took her focus to avoid drenching her leg. When it was hot and sticky outside, the way her liners rubbed against her residual limb ached.
Jesus, how much farther is our Zone? Sage thought to herself. How easy is it to get lost in the jungle?

If there was one thing that went right for this blasted game, it was the fates who decided his team. They were simply unrealistically good at sports. At the announcement that Sage, an elder Hufflepuff prefect, had spotted the opponent team's flag, Erast had been beyond relieved to be on the team with capable athletes. Still pathetically on a tree for support after that monster of a boy from their enemy team had tackled him, the brunet reminded himself of the circumstances and righted himself. Ugh...
"FREDRICK SUCCESSFULLY GRABS THE FLAG, FIVE POINTS TO THE POISON DART FROG TEAM!"
The loud commentary echoed throughout the arena, barely minutes after the exciting news of Sage's successful spotting. Huffing, Erast could not hide his incredulous smile at his friend's skill. "Fred, you crazy..."
Just as adrenaline began to rouse, Erast heard a mess of sounds of struggle and spell incantations. A rough tackle somewhere in the dense rainforest, a painful sneezing fit somewhere to his right. Tightening his grip on his wand, Erast slipped back into the forest. Now that the game had tilted in their favour, something nudged that it was only going to get worse from here. Thrilling...! came his inner sarcastic thought.

Poison Dart Frog vs. Suriname Grasshopper
It all happened quickly. The flag had been spotted by Sage, and due to the majority of their team moving in a group (being stuck in the mud, in Ilias case), the overly cheerful boy from earlier, Frederick, made a run for the flag within a hot second. Well, someone ought to try. Meanwhile, Ilias had tried to help out to the best of his abilities after being rendered practically useless not long ago. Locating one of the grasshoppers among the trees, he'd whipped out his wand and used the first, and honestly, only, spell he could remember. The sneezing hex hit a girl with blue hair square in the chest. Still standing in formation, ready to run if needed, he watched the girl stumble forward as a series of wild sneezes took control over her senses.
It made sense that she was furious, and she was, pinning him with a glare and wand raised at him. Fortunately the sneezing made it difficult to actually cast any spells, but he understood the sentiment. "It's nothing personal," he shouted with a shrug. With a striking hair-color like that, she only had herself to blame for making herself a blinking target. However, the slightly smug, amused smirk on his face evaporated when a spell came hurling towards him from her wand. Clearly, he’d overestimated the potency of the sneezing hex; he hadn’t considered that she might recover quickly enough to retaliate before he could dodge. Knocked back by the sudden hit, Ilias had no control over his body as his feet began moving of their own accord, busting out breakdance moves he hadn’t performed even once in his entire life.
Mortified, the boy was helpless as he dropped into the wet soil on his knees. One hand planted firmly on the ground, he somehow pushed himself up into a hip-hop-style handstand before proceeding into a half-assed spin on his ass.

Great. Now he just needed to get out of this mess.

Poison Dart Frog vs. Suriname Grasshopper
By the time Valour reached the next clearing, the game had deteriorated wonderfully. Valour found herself amid an active warzone. Hexes and tackles were being thrown in the same breath, with unwitting students screaming expletives as they watched their teammates fall. Rivals and allies were sneezing and dancing uncontrollably, barrelling into one another and stumbling into bushes. She could have sworn a shoe flew past her ear at another student. They couldn't resist the fanged grin that blossomed at the sight of such carnage. Finally, everyone had stopped pretending to be so civilised. Their knife would do them no good, and for a moment she considered drawing another weapon. Duelling had called to her, though not exactly the above-board kind. Her wand was already halfway from her pocket when a considerably more primitive solution occurred to her.
Within mere seconds, Valour had thrown herself into the ring. Fists tangled in hair as she tackled a blue-haired girl to the floor. Skylar — whatever her name was — flailed in retaliation, squaring Valour in the skull, causing white flashed behind their eyes. For half a second she simply stared at her. Then she grinned wider. Oh, excellent. The truth was, Valour possessed little to no skill or experience in fighting; there was no time like the present to learn. It was her insatiable thirst for a fight that gave her the upper hand. It wasn’t long before the girl was down and out, and Valour was ready for more.
She scrambled upright with all the dignity of a wet cat, mud streaked across her knees and leaves caught in her sweeping hair. It was not long before her sights were set on a boy, not too much taller than her. Certainly nowhere near as threatening; Valour had a honeysweet smile on her face and a vicious look of determination in her eye as she ran full force at her unsuspecting victim. Her elbow wedged into his gut, knocking him over with a surprising amount of ease. They’d be lying if they weren’t a little pleased with themself, seeing others hurling spells instead of getting their hands dirty. It was rare to get an opportunity to roughhouse at a school like Hogwarts — a near panopticon of prefects and professors. Besides, it was all in good fun. For her at least.
At some point while Valour had been throwing punches, Xiang had announced like a god in high heaven that Sage had spotted the flag for their team. As she rose to her feet, muddied up with scraped elbows to match, Valour scanned her surroundings. In the scuffle, she’d hardly noticed the blood cresting on her cheekbone and on her leg where she’d hit the ground hard. She simply had a slightly dazed grin on her face, eyes locking onto a head of fiery hair for a moment before finally finding those eyes of moss green. With an almost endearing sense of pride, she shot Ilias a canine grin. It was nice to see he wasn’t entirely hopeless, having found his way out of the mud and into the fray. Hair mussed and strands falling over her face, she swept them away with a clean flick, about to speak when she was interrupted by another announcement. Her gaze was ripped from her American boy and towards the skies.
"FREDRICK SUCCESSFULLY GRABS THE FLAG, FIVE POINTS TO THE POISON DART FROG TEAM!"
A laugh ripped itself from her throat, mirthful and almost dorky. Perhaps it was the adrenaline rushing to her head that’d lightened her mood, along with victory on their tip of their tongues. She turned back to Ilias, ready to clap him on the back and discuss their next move, when she was greeted with an unexpected sight. The boy was breakdancing. Valour’s laughter only doubled as she approached him, careful not to get kicked as he spun, flipped and kicked with surprising skill. She tilted her head with a coy look.
“You alright here, twinkletoes?”

The jungle was a dangerous place when you weren’t prepared enough. It was even more dangerous when there was a bunch of children wielding their wands at each other. As their team already faced the opponent team - Grasshopper, Rosaline tensed up, ready to fight for their team. She didn’t own a fast reaction time; despite the Quidditch training all year, she wanted to give it a shot. The dark cloud of failing on the tackle last time still lingered in her mind. This time, she had a new target.
Suddenly, a strong wind blew past, the trees rustled and caught her attention. She turned back to see if there were any new situations she needed to know, and yet, nothing, just trees. When she tried to refocus on her mission, her target had long gone to another area. Her eyes darted around to find any traces. The attempt was futile. She signed. She wasn’t useful in this round again.
A green light shot at her, a spell! A Sneezing Hex. She moved her feet fast, yet it was too late when she noticed the hex, unfortunately. Achoo. Achoo. Achoo. The poor girl could only bear the effect of the spell and wait for its stop.
Frederick got the flag! She almost jumped for joy at the great news when their moderator announced it. A grin appeared across her face. She couldn’t help but feel optimistic.
