"You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart"
—The Sorting Hat

The Great Hall is a large room with four long tables where students of each House sit during the day and at mealtimes. A majestic enchanted ceiling that mirrors the outside weather is watching over people in the room.

When you just pass the door from the Entrance Hall, Gryffindor table is next to the far side of the Hall. You have to walk past all three other tables to get to sit with the Lions. Maybe you will be able to eat and if you're very lucky you might even catch a glimpse of Nearly Headless Nick.

This is an RPG topic where all students are welcome to post. All RPG rules apply. Word count per post is 200 words, not including quotes, OOC chat or other people's words. Any flood type of message will be deleted and a warning owl is sent.

Paul ran into the Great Hall to have dinner at around half past six. That was the usual time he was having it. Without much thought, the boy reached for some carrot and vegetables, and some stew. For drinks, some juice appeared in the goblet, and Paul didn't complain. It tasted good, like apples.

All in all, it took him less than twenty minutes to eat his portion. Food had never had much significance for the boy. It was possible to say he was happy with anything, as long as it contained some vegetables and meat (and bread in the morning, of course).

The boy was eating pretty fast that day. He knew he had a meeting with a friend later on, to join him for his traditional evening run, so there was no time to spare. For the fact that he was going running, Paul got dressed into loose, grey shorts, a pair of new, green, waterproof trainers, a blue football jersey and a sweatshirt.

He honestly hoped it would rain outside, as he had his new pair of trainers on, whose quality he wanted to see.

Paul would look up from his meal every now and then, saying to people around him: "Hey... how is it goin? I'm Paul from Edinburgh. Where are ya from?'"

Lily had a meeting with a boy she had taken under her wing. He was a second year Gryfiindor and she had moderated his duel for him! And in that duel, he somehow got hit by a lightning strike from the powerful Meteolojinx spell. So she had kept her eye on him afterwards to make sure that dear strike hadn't caused any lingering problems. Tonight she was going for a run with him. They were supposed to meet outside at the grounds but she was hungry so she went into te Great Hall and saw him sitting there eating. So she sat down next to him and over heard him saying he was from Edinburgh. That caught her attention and as she grabbed some lasagna and shephards pie, she replied to his comment. "I didn't know you were from Scotland! I live in Altnharra myself with my family." Scotland was a beautiful place and where she was from it was up in the Highlands. She enjoyed living up there and enjoyed even more th native language of Gaelic. Colin and Liam had taught her how to speak it. It had taken her awhile but she managed to learn! And she did use it sometimes, but mostly when she was with her family.

Paul didn't see Lily coming, as she came from behind him. He only noticed her when she was sitting right next to him. His face shone with joy, as the boy was apparently glad to see her.

"Oh, hi there, las! Ready to run a Marathon?" Called the little Gryf in excitement, pushing his eyebrows up several times playfully. A surprised, wide-eyed expression followed, when Lily admitted she was from Scotland too. "Whoa, ya from Scotland too?! No way!" Just how lucky I am, getting a magical friend from the same part of UK?! "But... that means we can meet during summer holidays! You can come over to our place, I'll introduce you to my friends. You have to play football with us!" The plans just occurred in Paul's mind, as if the boy was earning money for them. His excited tone never left him though, till he realized it might be a little problematic.

"Wait, did ya say Highlands?" The boy's large smile fell and he sighed. "Dam' that's far..." He seemed worried, but only for a few secs.

Then, he got distracted by the fact that Lily could speak Gaelic. "Y-you can speak it? That's so cool! You have to teach me. I only know some swearwords. Like, amadan or tòin." The boy grinned. "We don't speak it at home. But I can dae the Scottish accent, if ye ever feel a wee bit heum-sick." With that, he winked at her with a smirk.

"Bon appétit, by the way." Did the boy say before she started eating. Then he cut another morsel, inserting it in his mouth. "Colin... that name sounds familiar. I think I've seen him around. But who's Liam, if you don't mind me asking?"
