After successfully avoiding the attack of the huge cat, Kanthil kept going to the base. She was surprised that there were already some people from another team. "Oh..." She stopped. She looked around to see if there was anyone she was familiar with. Good thing, most of her team was already in the same area as her.
She closed the gap to another participant. She didn't know if they were younger or older, but Kanthil knew their age gap mustn't be too wide. @Mahlioz Evethisawe "I wonder where the flag is," Kanthil said and continued with a question, "Do you think we will find it before the other team?" She stopped. "Anyway, I'm pretty sure we can win it. I don't know. It might be a hunch," she smiled and winked before leaving them.
"I missed Nikala," The girl stated to no one but herself. She was wondering what her snake was doing now. She imagined the creature was enjoying its me-time somewhere, on a comfy pillow, in her resting space. She regretted not bringing her snake. It could make the process of finding the flag easier. The worst that could happen was someone attacked it, but Niskala was stronger than the average snake. She made a mental note that she would bring Niskala to any events and never let it be too far from her. First, to help her solve anything she would face. Second, to accompany her.

There just had to be something that she could do to help her team from their initial zone. Kaitlyn could see two members from the opposing team entered. With those new people … their initial zone was filling up fast! An interesting dilemma. Regardless of that fact, they needed to do something. Hopefully, it would be something to help her team … or even something else entirely. Who knew what could happen in such a chaotic environment?
An idea crossed her mind. With the opposing team coming … Kaitlyn knew that she had to do something to make things more … difficult. Ah, yes! There was an idea. With a smile, she took her wand and waved it. “Fumos!” She called out, successfully casting the smokescreen spell.
Kaitlyn was thankful to do something that looked like it could help her team. After all, she wanted to do something. Her eyes turned toward Mahlioz and offered them a kind smile at the thumbs up. Yes, yes, it was successful. She was very thankful that nothing seemed to be coming from the forest … er, not yet anyway. It certainly made an uneasy feeling, but she needed to persevere through it. Thus, she turned her blue eyes to the field to see what was going to happen next.

Anaconda vs. Caiman
Marietta was painfully aware that she was alone. Why couldn't her first foray into doing something competitive be what ever the wizarding equivalent of tic tac toe was? Something nice, and simple that didn't involve bodily harm and getting lost in a jungle! Sure it was pretty, but all this greenery, the feeling she was being watched, the loneliness. It all reminded Marietta of her first ball. An experience she never, ever wanted to relive. Ever.
Her early wonder was abandoned, all she wanted was to get out and see people that wouldn't try to make her vomit slugs or something! And maybe pet a jaguar. Goodness why hadn't she pet a jaguar, she was sure that fur was soft enough to lose a hand over. Plus she was pretty sure her dad hadn't signed anything, which meant the school would be responsible for repairing the hand... right?
She wondered what re-growing a hand would be like. She knew from class the that bone regrowing potion tasted awful. But- could they re-grow a hand? Or would she get some sort of cool prosthetic?! She hoped that if she got a prosthetic hand the shade of wood would be pretty. Maybe a cool purple color or maybe yellow? No yellow would probably make it look jaundiced. She shook her head at the idea, maghony, maghony was best.

Lily was having a hell of a time in this game. Not only was she hot and wet from the humidity but they still had not found the flag. Thankfully, there was no monkeys or jaguars to attack her. She caught sight of Marietta trying to search for their flag. Lily raised her wand to cast the Flipendo spell. Only to feel it backfire and cast her backgrounds ont the hard ground. She groaned as pain shot through her back at the rough landing and she rolled over t get up. This wasn't the first time this had happened but she sure hoped it was the last. Because it aways hurt when a spell backfired. That and it wounded her pride. But she kept moving on. That's what she had to do to hopefully win this game. She kept moving and hoped to god nothing ate her. She kinda regretted signing up for this but to be truthfully honest she was having tons of fun. And she had even got Colin involved in the game! She wondered how he was doing. If he was still in the game or not. She thought he might be, after all he knew how to win even if he sweet talked!

Thanks to Logan, whose observational skills were far better than her own (at least before the blindfold), they had found the flag. And then immediately lost it, a thick mist rushing in and mingling with all the smoke and turning her vision into a whole lot of white nothingness. Phyllis took a breath. This was okay, she still remembered where the flag was, and luckily flags very famously did not have legs, so it couldn't move on her. If anything, this mist was convenient cover as she tried to creep silently through the water to make her grab. She just had to not splash too loudly, or run into anyone. It helped that people were still incanting, rather than listening super closely, creating bright flashes of spells for her to duck under.
It was right around here, she was pretty sure. All her landmarks were useless, but she reached out for something colorful... and it squeaked! Whatever she had her hand on was soft, unlike a tree, but moving, unlike a flag. Conclusion: not a flag, but a pygmy puff. Oops. She gently released it and mouthed, Sorry! Phyllis then reached again, and that was the flag, a sort of rough, very unmoving fabric. She wrapped it once around her hand then took several slow steps back, aware that someone else was very close and definitely would be on her already if not for how impossible it was to see anything.
Then the lightning came and ruined everything, since apparently it wasn't done with her. Phyllis was doing her very smooth backwards shuffle, being impressively quiet because the situation called for it, and then zap. "Oh, for--" The start of a swear was cut off by her opponent's cry of chicken nuggets. Okay, time to go! Abandoning all stealth, she turned on her heel and ran, at least as best as she could through water and surrounded by mist.

Anaconda vs. Caiman
posting as NPC character Duncan Farcher
Duncan Farcher was enjoying his time at Castelobruxo, the jungle atmosphere always providing something to explore- just as it was now. He was enjoying the greenest foliage, carefully examining the ground for any cool medicinal or magical plants that might be native to the area, but instead found himself hearing the distant sounds of a game. He heard some singing, roaring water, surprisingly loud squeaks, some thunder, and a girl yelling about chicken nuggets, on top of all the other typical sounds of children engrossed in a competitive game. It sounded like fun! And, when it Rome... or, well, when in Castelobruxo. He tromped over to where some kids were playing, and inserted himself in the game.
"Hey, I'm Duncan. I'm joining the game, and I'm on your team now," he declared confidently to the girls near him (@Lily Isobel McCoire and @Ebony Vetra), although he did not yet know what game they were playing. He was sure he would either figure it out, or have fun regardless!
He rolled up his sleeves and pulled out his wand, not quite sure what kind of game this was yet, but he knew he could be helpful. He had a good mind and could be quite tricky, he thought. He thought his dormmates would agree, especially after that one night when he replaced all their pillows with whoopee cushions. Although that experience may not come in handy, he was sure his skills could be somewhat transferrable.

A tangled thicket of nothingness. The rainforest seemed to bustle with life, but it simultaneously rested in an empty void. The trees, roots, and shrubbery alike seemed to overlap and reach for the other, intersected in some cold, deceiving embrace of leaves and thorns. The sheer proximity of the greenery rendered it difficult to decipher distinct sounds, and the girl was left in a ringing tunnel of auditory torture. Considering the confused whirlwind of nature that consumed this area, Ebony thought it entirely plausible that the opponent would choose to hide their flag here. Dedicating herself wholly to the task, she left no stone unturned; even the tiniest crevices of the gnarled underbrush were searched. The overlapping colours of the flora and the occasional creatures who let out curious squeaks served as no impediment for her; her eyes were unusually peeled, and what would normally catch her off guard or cause an eyesore failed to do so today. After such a thorough investigation, the brunette could confidently ascertain that the flag was not located anywhere in her vicinity. She was so certain in her searching abilities that she became delusionally convinced for a second or two that she should play seeker in her next Quidditch match.
