Lunette Renée d'Estienne spent her earliest years in the French countryside on the outskirts of Eguisheim. The d’Estienne family, an old noble line in France, traced its roots back to the medieval era in Lorraine. Over the centuries the family has mixed with muggles and spread to other regions of France. Despite this, Lunette's branch of the family takes pride in maintaining their pureblood lineage.

Surrounded by the trappings of wealth and prestige, Lunette's childhood was warped by the absence of her parents. Her father, Benoit, who works for the 'Ministry of Magical Affairs of France, was often too busy to give his daughter the time of day. Her mother, Océane, worked as an Auror and was often away on work trips. This left Lunette and her older sister, Solène, to be primarily raised through the help of a variety of nannies and house elves. Despite her caregiver's efforts to ensure the siblings were impeccably behaved, Lunette enjoyed pushing their limits with playful antics, often aimed at Solène's expense.

Lunette's first instance of magic happened when she was visiting her Uncle, Orion Lécuyer, in the UK during the summer of 2021. They had paid a visit to Diagon Alley after Orion had promised her candy. Unfortunately the girl's curious nature kicked in and she disappeared into one of the supply stores. After poking around a stack of cauldrons, the pile begin to topple. With a terrified scream she covered her head, only to discover the cauldron floating mid-air.

At a glance, Lunette looks the picture of sweetness; long lashes frame large sapphire blue eyes, the same shade shared by the rest of the Lécuyer family. Her heart-shaped face retains the youthful softness of her childhood years, complemented by a button nose and light freckles scattered across the bridge of her nose and cheeks.

Standing at an average height for her age group, Lunette carries herself with a charm that makes her appear approachable and harmless. Her style shifts depending on the situation; she can be dressed in the latest high-quality fashions straight from the runway one day, and the next she may be found wearing ripped jeans, cowgirl boots, and one of the many hats she has collected over the years.

Her polite smile, impeccable manners, and easy going nature are simply a shell encasing her real personality. Lunette understands the value of appearing 'harmless'; people expect less of you if they assume you're an idiot. Do something wrong once, and they'll never ask for your help again.

Beneath it all is a mind that is endlessly curious, quick witted, and far sharper than she lets on. Lunette dislikes being told what to do and will often disregard rules and regulations unless it is to her benefit, and even then she will often try to find loopholes. She thrives under chaos and will drag anyone brave enough to follow her through the fire with her.
