Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 1
Banner by Prat Pass
Grimacing as most of the remaining duelists seemed to be struck by cracker jinxes left and right, he glanced over to check on his teammates. They were a little worse for wear and Edward had even managed to disarm Hanako with a Disarming Charm, but they were still all conscious while the Ravenclaws were a teammate down. Despite the fact that the odds weren't in their favor, they were calmly standing their ground, and Jack supposed that was Ravenclaws for you. They cooly managed to keep their heads even when at a disadvantage. He admired that, but he was still determined to win.
Poor Hanako must have still been feeling sick and reeling from the prior attacks he had suffered that had disoriented him. Jack wished there was something he could do for him, but he knew Hanako would likely take offense even if he felt that Jack was doing as little as showing too much concern for him. So, he tried to smile at him and Mahlioz instead.
"Good job managing to hang in there still, guys," he told them, hoping he wasn't coming off as sounding too patronizing. "Hey, since these guys are the 'Murder of Merlin' and Merlin was a Slytherin, we've got to avenge him, right?" It was a silly joke, but he hoped it was enough to at least bring a smile or two to their faces, however tired or sick they might have felt. He wasn't sure what kind of name 'Murder of Merlin' was except for a violent one...unless...
Wait. By 'murder', could they have meant like a 'murder of crows'? Well, it might have made more sense if it was something like a 'conspiracy' since for ravens, it was a 'conspiracy of ravens', so maybe not. Besides, contrary to popular belief, Jack knew the Ravenclaw mascot was an eagle, not a raven, so the whole thing fell flat anyway.
Oh, well. He'd at least tried to make sense of the peculiar team name.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 1

The Expelliarmus Edward had cast hit his target and he saw the wand flying out of the hand of his opponent. His triumph was short as he was hit by a Cracker Jinx and that hurt. Also his ears still ringed from the multiple bangs that these Crackers caused. At least the spell targeted at him did not hit him.

Day 1 - Morning slot
Gyle's ears hurt. Why were these duels so loud? The duelist ears must also have been ringing, because it seemed everyone was a bit dazed.
The Ravens did nothing. Mahlioz followed in Hanako's footsteps and mumbled some jiggerish while pointing their wand at the birds. Jack would throw a hasty confringo together after his attempt at humor, fire it towards Edward, and miss. Lastly, Hanako wandered around looking for his wand, un-threatened, successfully finding it.
It was possible the calmest exchange he'd seen yet, but thanks to Jack his ears continued their subtle 'keeeeeeeeeeeen' ringing. He could only wonder at how his ears would feel when the duelists shuck off haze.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 1

Edward's ears still hurt and he totally missed to cast any spell at the other team. He managed to dodge some spells from them though or they just missed him at least. However, the splinters flying from the exploding ground caused by the Confringo still hurt him. Why did this duel involve so much explosions? And how could they get the other team down with only the two of them left?

Jack was right about 2 things.
(1) Comforting Hana would only earn a glare from him
(2) That was a great joke.
More like an unexpected one. The sort of thing he bet people had noticed but just didn't say out loud. It was an inner thought sort of thing but of course, hearing such a thing out loud not only distracted him from the headache, but earned a genuine laugh - unhidden - from the boy. He could even get his wand back no problem, though even if he hadn't there was little chaos happening on the stage to further remind him that this was a serious duel with things he shouldn't be laughing about. Instead, he went back to his position inspecting between his newly found wand and his teams with a ... less stressed smile on his face, thanks to his earlier laugh. Not even the bleeding on his skin seemed all that important now. Especially with both their feet back in the ground.

Well, that was...underwhelming. Not only did the Ravenclaw team stay calm, but...they didn't appear to do much of anything at all. Which was good for the Viridian Vipers, especially as Hanako required the round to recover his missing wand. Still, Jack found it a bit odd; he doubted the other team had done nothing out of kindness. Had they just about given up then? That would have been a shame. At least they hadn't thrown in the towel yet, though.
The snakes were still all bleeding, but with the odds greatly in their favor just then, that didn't seem to pose too much of a problem. Mahlioz's cracker jinx might have failed, but at least not too badly. And Jack's blasting curse missed, but still managed to do some indirect damage, it appeared. The duel felt like it was progressing rather slowly, but once Hanako found his wand, Jack had greater confidence that they would be able to finish things soon. It was starting to feel like it was only a matter of time.
When Hanako laughed, Jack glanced over in surprise and grinned. He hadn't thought his silly comment would actually earn a genuine laugh from his roommate, especially with how badly he must have been feeling just then, but he was glad he seemed to have been able to cheer him up at least a little. Perhaps his mood was lifting as things were looking up for them. "Just a little more..." he murmured, both to himself and his teammates.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 1

Jack was really beginning to grow on Mahlioz. While she had started off half-wary of him, almost exclusively because he was the reason she wasn't duelling with Ara anymore, he really was a very kind guy. He spotted Hanako's frustration about the failed spell (which Mahlioz couldn't blame, Cassius had done a bunch of damage, of course it would be hard to cast once or twice), and encouraged his team and cracked a joke.
"Wait, that's such a good point - give us back our mascots, ravens, this is unacceptable." Mahlioz grinned, especially once Hanako laughed, which - you know, she actually hadn't heard that sound often at all, considering the mix of Ara making fun of him and terrible luck they had had in previous shared duels. Oh gods, no time to get sentimental about this being the two oldies' last duel, not now. They were winning things, they couldn't afford to lose focus now.
But apparently that's exactly what they did, because it was soon their turn to mess up a spell entirely. "Gosh dang it." Somewhat embarrassing, but the feeling was lessened by the fact that the Ravens seemed to be completely shell shocked and frozen. At least there was that. And Hanako had his wand back! They were back in business. Just a little more, as Jack had said.

The duel was proceeding. That's about all that could be said. It wasn't Cassius' best, perhaps because he was already thinking graduation and the upcoming NEWTs. Adulting was not something he needed to think about until he did. How had seven years passed already? It went by so quickly.
Unfortunately, those wandering thoughts distracted him to the point of not being fully present. He owed his teammates an apology after the duel.
Action:
As strategized.
WANDMAKER (ROUGAROU HAIR)Reducio• 10% of the damage done by a "dark" spell is done to a target that was successfully hit by a dark spell every round for the duration of the thread. This is considered to be "bleeding" and can be countered with the bandaging charm.
• In Duelling: This bleeding effect is limited to 4 rounds. If hit by another dark spell in the meantime, the bleeding effect is replaced with the new one.
• On a critical success with a "dark" spell, a second target (only if defined by the caster before this has been rolled) can be targeted, if no secondary target is declared then nothing happens.
• -10% damage done with non-dark spells.

Day 1 - Morning slot
Their ears would finally get a chance to heal. That wasn't to say there were no spells cast, just no explosions.
Slytherin would continue their assault with a three complementary spells. Hanako went for the disable - an obscuro, while Jack went for raw damage with a flipendo. Mahlioz would balance the two with a ventus. And the birds would... do nothing. It seemed the snakes were really getting to them. If their inaction wasn't enough, Mahlioz's ventus would split, sending double gusts their way.
Everyone but Jack would be successful in hitting their targets. The birds were still standing, but for how long?

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 1

Edward was still somewhat unable to think. The explosions did not only hurt his ears and the splinters hurt his skin but it seemed as if he also lost his focus. Another spell hit him and he did nothing. He was starting to doubt that they could turn it around but it wasn't over yet, so he took a deep breath and prepared himself.
