Why did it have to be her out of the rest of her teammates to actually get knocked down, causing her to land on her bottom by her own spell, of all things? "I guess it is true what they say: what comes around goes around," she said out loud. Next time it might do her a bit of good to remember that.
Then a thought had come to her mind: "I will not let this backfire spell affect me. I will rise up and dust myself off!" And that is exactly what she did. Standing up and dusting herself off, she got back in her fighter's stance to prepare for the next round of spells to fly.

It was a slight relief when Archer's good friend Prat Pass took over the moderation. Apparently, his previous one had to step away for.... reasons. Well, no matter, because it seemed like Prat was a lucky charm as not only did Archer heal Evpraksiya, but she also dodge all the spells that came her way. they were winning.
I am not even singed. My wings are untouched. You use them for everything, except flight.

The Slippery Jinx was among Aislin's favorite spells. The timing of it could be tricky, since it didn't do much at all if your opponent had their feet firmly set to cast, but she was pretty sure Evpraksiya was reading the wands aimed at her as a clear threat, not to mention her waltz steps were carrying her in a steady, graceful circle. As her teammates readied a double-pronged attack, Aislin incanted Lubricus... to no effect. She glared openly at her wand, the bloody ungrateful piece of wood. Did it want to spend its time in a sealed box on a dusty shelf?
Her mental argument with her wand was cut off by a bang right next to her. She cringed away from it, then winced when she saw the damage. Ally was in even worse straits; her spells always hit hard and this one had backfired. Maisie quickly offered encouragement, ever thoughtful even if she didn't sound very optimistic, and Aislin hummed her agreement. As for Ally's statement of what comes around goes around, she didn't really know if that was true. Maybe it was. Hopefully it was about done going around to them, though.

Luca knew precisely what had gone wrong to cause him to miss the moment he said, “Obscuro!” Lorenzo’s words about focusing on the cast and not the result burned into his brain. As the word left his mouth, Luca found himself already looking at the opponent rather than his wand. He focused on the result and forgot about the cast, causing his wand movement to be off just enough. However, he knew that time was in the past and refocused himself on his next move.
