Many thanks for your hard works, time, and effort, Zach! I personally surprised when I opened the site and looked at the new face of it which showering the rain (thats cool and such a great idea!) Hope with this new update still and bringing more condusive and warmer atmosphere even more!

Thank you so much for the work you've done for everyone on this sight! I personally love these updates and really appreciate the time and effort you've put in. I think the images make it seem so much more real and immersive, and the floo option is really helpful too.

There are certainly going to be lots of opinions on both sides about the update, and I appreciate your candor and openness when it comes to the process behind the work. I look forward to the poll and to the future updates as well! Thank you for keeping the shaking owl

Is the new font for disability ease (e.g. a dyslexia font for instance?) or is it a purely aesthetic change?

Really like the new update zach I was controversial on the images and but they look amazing

Hello Zach. I appreciate the work you and admin have done in terms of trying to bring something fresh to the site. So far, I only have a few things to say as feedback. Please let me know if there’s a better place to share my thoughts!

1. I know that before this update, it was possible to toggle the bottom bar on and off. This no longer seems to be the case. I also see that you’ve mentioned it in your main post here. But I still have to ask, would we be able to get this feature back at all? I think the more users can personalize their experience in small, comfortable ways, the better. I also think it would be nice to include another tab or two if possible (perhaps make them a bit smaller to fit?) instead of needing to choose the third tab like we have to do now.

2. Since we already have the floo system in the bottom left that requires clicking, and can easily transport us to where we need, is it possible for the top left navigation to have hovers again? I find it easier to navigate that way, and others I speak to share this sentiment.

3. I have not experienced this issue personally, but some people have said that site text feels harder to read following this update. Is it possible to make this adjustable in our settings at a later date? Since I see we can already adjust text alignment (which is a neat feature).

Hello, I would like to share my thoughts. I have already shared a few in the discord, but I’ll elaborate on my overall opinions here.

Firstly, the navigation and general overhaul. It looks good Zach, I can tell effort was put into this part of the update.
The new navigation system is a little confusing at the moment. I enjoyed being able to hover previously to see where I wanted to go. But it works well. And simply put it will take getting use to.
I am a huge fan of the more condensed bottom bar. It’s quick and easy, I’m prepared to say it’s my favorite part of the update.

The toggles for basically everything is very appreciated!! While I personally don’t mind the animations, I know some people have laggy issues, and/or get headaches from it. So having that option is wonderful for them.
Again, thank you Zach for these changes. It’s appreciated for all the work that’s been put into this.

Now, the backgrounds. I will try to keep this short, as I believe I have made my thoughts clear about generative AI. So I will not be saying them again. To put it plainly, the AI images just look bad. I have put my issues in sort bullet points for ease. I am more than happy to elaborate on my points here.
- Lots of things blur together, faces, lines, paintings, etc.
- things just are wrong. Hands, general items, windows, etc.
- I’m struggling to find the words for this, but all of it looks like it has this mud wash over it.
- all those together make it look sloppy.
When I brought this up in the discord I was met with this response

That was on purpose because the crisp images pulled attention from the actual posting screen

And I just don’t agree with this statement at all. I find this far more distracting than the old images were, and the no background at all. With these ones all I could really do was see the faults in them.
With how thought through the rest of the update was I wish the backgrounds got the same polished treatment.

Overall I enjoy it, and again appreciate the effort put into the code Zach.
