Status: Halfblood
Residence: Tokyo, Japan
Nationality: Japanese
History: Word count:248/220
Emi Sato was born in Tokyo, Japan, on the third of January in a nice house in Shinagawa-ku. Emi’s mother is a Chinese Muggle, while her father is a Japanese pure-blood. Her parents met while studying at Mahoutokoro.

Emi has a younger sister who looks like a mini version of her. Her sister is called Sakura. Even though they look similar, they are very different. Emi can be loud, while Sakura is quiet.

Emi, being half-blood, enjoys the best of both the Muggle world and the wizarding world. She is used to magic happening in her house, as her parents use it daily to do things like cleaning. Emi was delighted when her parents told her that she too, like them, would be going to Mahoutokoro to study magic.

Her Muggle mother sometimes does side-along apparition with her to visit her grandparents in Beijing, China. That is what Emi is most excited about: apparition—the ability to go from one place to another using just a wand.

Emi may sometimes be hot-tempered, but she usually has a good reason. For example, there was one time when someone was bullying her best friend, Miyu. Miyu is a Muggle, and Emi knows that she is not allowed to tell Miyu that she is a witch, but she has to admit that it is hard.

They met at a playground. Miyu and Emi are complete opposites. Miyu is shy and quiet, while Emi is bold and loud.
First Magic: When Emi was 7, she went to a bookstore. She saw this manga that she liked but it was on a very high shelf. She kept jumping and jumping then, she did the most amazing thing. She made all the books on the shelf fall down. Surprisingly, her parents were very pleased. Emi was confused. She thought that she was in trouble. Another time, when she was 8, she was very angry at a friend. She made the glass shatter around her.

Nationality: Japanese
History:

Mio Kasasagi, born on the 3rd of January, was left in the care of her grandparents, Aya and Goro Kasasagi. Although Mio is raisedd without real parents, she lives just like any other Japanese young witches and wizards. Aya and Goro own an independent bathhouse in the bustling small city of Yamagata, where they are famed for their onsen and mountains. Growing up, Mio always helped out in the bathhouse while also learning a little magic from Aya and Goro, her grandparents.

Aya and Goro are not the best witches or wizards per se, but they never limit Mio from learning magic. They always wanted to give Mio the best education, even though they can barely afford the best books and equipment. Mio doesn't really mind living with her grandparents, actually, she's glad that her parents leave* her with her grandparents. She loves living in the bathhouse because it has many fascinating qualities in every corner. From the ghostly, creaky hallway, where she would hear enchanting noises coming from the wood panels, or the smoky pool of water, where she swears she hears a beautiful lament every time the water pours from the pipes. Moreover, she is especially delighted by the gossip Mumajin tells about how the bathhouse was haunted. Either there was a rumour about someone brutally murdered inside, or it used to be an institution where many people had passed. She doesn't know for sure if it's true or not, but she is actually delighted by the thought of darkness lurking where she stands.

*
Mio's mother, Aoi, passed away while giving birth to Mio, turning her father's hatred towards her since she is a mere baby. She still grew up with her father, Akio, in his house in Tokyo, for 5 years of her life. And for those 5 years, he never laid a finger on Mio, leaving her in the care of her caretaker.

Her caretaker grew pity on Mio and convinced Akio to let her live with her grandparents in the suburb, where she could experience a real family with her grandparents. Without giving second thoughts, Akio agrees and gives her to his parents in Yamagata. They agree because they pity the little girl. She was just a mere 5th-year-old when she was given to her grandparents, and she has never seen her father ever since.

At this point, Mio has lived with her grandparents for 2 years now. Her grandparents were always too busy, so she occasionally tries to "help them, But most of the time, she becomes more of a nuisance rather than actually helping them.

So she would just stand and watch them or pull an occasional prank. One day, while Mio was just sitting on the corner of the room, she noticed a small-sized moth flying inside the dining room and fluttering around the light fixture on top of her.

Mio gazes at the moth, squinting to see the pattern of its back. But the moth was flying too quickly for her to see its pattern. Frustated, the 7-year-old Mio put up her arms, almost like trying to grasp the moths with her small hands. But the distance and her short hands could not possibly reach the flying insects physically, even if she tried to. But Mio is still reaching for the pair of wings fluttering near the flickering light bulb.

Suddenly, the Moth started to look like it flew closer to her, ...no, it isn't becoming closer, but instead larger. It became larger and larger, to the size of a medium-sized dog. Mio felt a little bit spooked but wasn't scared. Since she grew up around wizards, magic is never foreign to her. The moth stops growing when it can completely see the pattern on its back. It was beautiful, a black, almost purple, fuzzy wings with white accents that looked like a pair of eyes staring back at her. Suddenly, the door opened in surprise. The Moth was fluttering around the room until it managed to escape to the night sky storming past her grandmother, who opened the sliding wooden door. Mio's grandma screamed in shock when she saw the size of the moth, almost making her fall over to her back. She also hated bugs or any other insects, so that event surely traumatized the old lady.

History:
Reducio
“An enemy of the enemy is a friend.”

Perhaps the most revolutionary incident in the history of the magical underworld mafias was the union between the Japanese Izanami and the Italian Visconti mafias at the start of the twentieth century. The Viscontis were known to be ruthless, never sparing anybody who was a thorn in their path, while the Izanamis chose peace and love over war. But when a series of murders of the members of the family threatened both the Izanamis and the Viscontis, a treaty was signed. The Visconti daughter would be betrothed to the Izanami heir thus uniting the mafias. But it was not enough, the Calderossis were growing ever more powerful and war was not bringing success. After fair consideration, the Viscontis agreed to the Izanamis’ proposition and instead of war, a friendly hand was moved forward.

The Calderossis had been mafias since before the Viscontis but the newer generations had done less to keep it running as powerful as before. Friendship soon blossomed however, and the three mafias became very successful. The Calderossis, however, still insecure of their position, suggested that friendship should turn into relationship. Power-hungry, they wouldn’t take no for an answer and so, Akira Izanami was married to Antonio Calderossi. Now secure enough in their position, the Calderossis started taking decisions without consulting the others, and the Viscontis and Izanamis could barely do anything. But they had a powerful weapon, Akira. Late-night meetings, conferences, discussions with half drunk men, Akira would spy on it all, reporting back to her parents.

It took years, but finally, a balance was found. Visconti's son had chosen to leave the mafia to get into business, and his family carried the legacy with pride. Akira and Antonio, although married for the underworld business, had grown fond of each other and wanted to spend more and more time with the other, so they stepped down from the throne. Riches were in plenty and being on top wasn’t required, they could easily provide a very luxurious life to at least two generations. Akira proved to be useful to the Calderossi mafia, strategizing against any minor threats and bringing success. Soon enough, Dante and Serena were born.

Siblings? Friends? Confidants? Dante and Serena had been stuck to the hip since their childhood, never having any sort of sibling rivalry. Whatever they did, they did together. Their childhood, however, was deeply influenced by the mafia. Antonio had plans of early retirement and he couldn’t wait to let his son take the reins. This, along with the pressure of being good at studies would prove to exhaust him. This propelled Serena to start learning about the mafia as well. They would grow up to handle the mafia as co-leaders.

Celestina Arese had attended the same university as Dante, so when Antonio suggested Celestina to be Dante’s wife, he had no objections. Celestina would let Dante handle the mafia, spending her time either singing or fighting, a true Veela. The manor they lived in was divided in three wings, the East, the Middle and the West. Dante and Celestina lived in the West Wing, and Serena lived in the East with her husband Marcello Berlusconi, who had been disowned for not marrying a vampire like himself. Eventually, Stefano Armani Calderossi was born, and Dante doted on him. Stefano was given everything Dante didn’t have, a normal childhood, no pressure, freedom. And Stefano used it to become the best at whatever he did.

Mafia business wasn’t imposed on Stefano early on. He was first allowed to become an exemplary student, expected to prove himself intelligent, disciplined and worthy of the legacy he would one day inherit. Two years passed, and another son, Kenji Visconti Calderossi was born, named in honour of the original Viscontis. He was different from Stefano, more light in spirit, more carefree. Like his brother, he excelled academically. Teachers doted on him and a lot of the times he received extra credit purely for his devilish grin and effortless charisma. Dante and Celestina never openly compared their sons, yet the distinction was apparent. Stefano was given authority, Kenji was considered cute. The future of the mafia was shaped around Stefano, Kenji was allowed to observe, but never truly asked to be involved. He was the son who did not need to prove himself, because no one had ever asked him to.

Two sons, quite skilled, a mansion that spread across acres and a successful mafia leader, and still, Celestina couldn’t help but mourn the absence of a daughter who might inherit her Veela legacy. However, four years later, her dream was fulfilled with the birth of Violetta and Irida, twins with Violetta being older by merely six minutes. Irida was the youngest in the family. She grew up surrounded by love and protection, her childhood never a still moment. The Veela blood in her veins sparked an interest in combat and being a mafia daughter meant access to a hefty amount of arsenal. She found her preference early: swords. Afternoons meant training with Violetta under their mother’s watchful gaze. Evenings were reserved for magical theory. She would only get to spend time with her siblings and cousins at night.

Enzo and Bianca, the cousins, were Serena’s offspring. Serena and Marcello lived in the same manor, occupying the opposite wing. Once a member of an Italian gang, Marcello had been banished for refusing to marry the same species as him, vampires. This meant that Enzo and Bianca Berlusconi were dhampirs. The six children spent their nights together in their wing of the manor, overseen by a housekeeper tasked with their care.

Celestina, as any Veela, had a very sweet voice, and singing was her strong suit, so she was overjoyed to see that Violetta was also deeply interested in honing her singing skills. Irida, though she had a pretty voice, would always prefer swordfighting, or any sort of combat for that matter, over singing. She fit Kenji’s shoes perfectly, loved and cared for, but never given attention. Stefano was the heir, Violetta was the perfect daughter, there was no role for her to fill. Naturally, despite Violetta and Irida being twins, she found herself closer to Kenji. Together, they had the freedom others did not. Neither was expected to be perfect. Kenji would tell Irida things she wasn’t supposed to know. And Irida would swear on her life never to tell anyone of her knowledge of said things.

The first five years of Irida’s life were happy ones. And then, everything changed. Kenji was sent to Japan to live with their aunt and uncle, Ichiro and Reina. The separation struck her harder than anybody realised. She was now not the Irida who would spend her time with cousins at night, or even learn magical theory. Her days became monotonous: eat, train, rest, sleep. And even her meals would be brought to her room by the housekeeper, and somehow, nobody seemed to notice that she was barely seen now. Dante and Celestina consumed by the demands of the mafia, Stefano already in Beauxbatons, Violetta buried in studying and vocal lessons. Enzo and Bianca were also kept busy by Serena and Marcello and Irida would be left all alone until her tenth birthday.

That would be the year that marked the beginning of her hatred for birthdays. Her parents had organized a celebration larger than any before, she assumed it would be because she would be attending Beauxbatons the following year. When she opened her gift box, however, she was greeted with a letter from Kenji, excitedly congratulating her and expressing his joy at the idea of them finally living together again. Confused, she would look up to see her parents’ expressions as they eagerly announced the surprise: she would be moving to Japan to live with her aunt and uncle as well. Rage blinded her and she lashed out, sending the cake crashing on to the floor. She stomped away, banging her door shut to not open it for the next four months.

The housekeeper brought her food and water, which Irida only accepted once she was alone. No one truly listened to her. They assumed she was simply upset about leaving. Celestina tried to speak to her during the first month, standing outside the door, pleading softly, but eventually she stopped. Violetta tried longer, but she, too, gave up. When Irida finally emerged after four months, it was only to ask her parents to send her to Japan. She had decided she would rather be with Kenji than stay where she felt unwanted. Two days later, she was transported to the Takahashi household, her belongings packed neatly into suitcases. She left nothing behind. No trace that she had ever lived in the manor. A special trunk carried her collection of weapons.

The Takahashi house was different, obviously, but Irida welcomed the change. Her arrival was celebrated by her aunt and uncle, Reina and Ichiro Takahashi, and her cousins Miyuki and Hana. Miyuki was the same age as Kenji, and she attended Mahoutokoro like him. Hana was the same age as Irida, and was excited to show Irida around. Kenji was different here, more disciplined but that only gave him more freedom, making him happier here than he was in Sicily. It warmed Irida’s heart to see him finally being happy. There was no comparison in this house, everybody was treated as an equal. Everybody noticed Irida’s quiet, distant nature but nobody complained. Hana got Irida to try gardening, and Irida actually enjoyed that. She would spend a lot of time in the gardens; and while Hana yapped continuously, Irida would provide the occasional nod or smile to show that she was listening.

Life here demanded more from her, and at times it irritated her. She was no longer waited on, no longer indulged. Still, she did not complain. Ichiro and Reina were already doing her a kindness by taking her in. Slowly, she began to warm to them. Her heart remained guarded, invisible walls still standing, but the Takahashis had managed to crack the first. Even so, Irida learned to pull away whenever she felt herself growing too close. Sicily had taught her that attachment only led to hurt.

Her next birthday in Kyoto was not celebrated. Kenji and Miyuki were already in Mahoutokoro, so Hana took Irida to explore Kyoto. They navigated through narrow streets, Hana dragging her from stall to stall, insisting she try everything. Irida would barely say anything, the memories of her last birthday still fresh in her mind, an open wound. She was grateful the Takahashis did not rub salt in it. Soon enough, Irida had spent a year in Japan and her letter of admittance to Mahoutokoro, along with Hana’s had arrived. The fact that the letter had been addressed to the Takahashis and not the Calderossis seemed to tick Irida. Again, blinded by emotions, she went to Ichiro and Reina and expressed her wish to not keep the name Irida or Calderossi. No ties to the Italian world. She would, henceforth, be called Akari Izanami Takahashi. A letter was written to the headmaster of Mahoutokoro to let them know of this. Her school supplies, and Hana’s would be bought in Tokyo, where the magical market was, and so, she would depart for Mahoutokoro to begin her journey as Akari.

First Magic:
Reducio
Irida first showed signs of possessing magical power at the age of five when Kenji was sent to Japan. She knew that everybody in her family was given training in magical subjects, and she was exposed to their magical background from the start. However, she herself had never shown signs of having those qualities until the first time she ever experienced a major emotional whirlwind, when her confidante was sent miles away from her.

Irida was in the kitchen when she was informed of the absence of Kenji and all she remembered was feeling extremely angry before falling to the ground. Violetta would later tell her that all the shelf doors had opened with a band and all the crockery had shattered to the ground. Somehow, the pieces of the glass had avoided falling on a 50cm radius around Irida, saving her from what could have been life-threatening. And thus was the start of her journey as a witch.

Celestina Arese was known to be the heartthrob of the university she attended. Everybody there had magical blood, everybody knew what Veelas were, and everybody knew that Celestina was a Veela, and she wasn’t the only one. Yet there was something about her, something that made her glow a lot more than the others, something that made her catch the attention of almost everybody. And she absolutely adored it. Cherishing every moment of the limelight, Celestina would always make sure the onlookers weren’t bored. She was always up to something crazy, nothing a normal witch or wizard — well, as normal as they could be — would usually do. And people adored her for it. The girls all craved to be like her, trying to mimic her make up, or clothing, or even body language. The guys all wanted to be the one she made eye contact with in the hallways and corridors. All in all, she was the queen bee and everybody loved her.

At least, that is what she thought. Obviously, why would Celestina notice the haters? Haters gonna hate, right? For the first two years of university education, she managed to ignore all that happened around her. She would cause mischief, but never be caught. In fact, her grades were impeccable. Her two best friends would follow her wherever she went, telling her what happened around the campus and calling her sweet nothing names she loved to hear. The third year, however, was one that she could never forget. And it all started with a boy. Dante Calderossi. Born to Akira and Antonio Calderossi, the very well known mafia leaders, whispers followed Dante wherever he went. He didn’t indulge in any rumours, allowing them to spread with even more spice.

It was a fine Wednesday afternoon when Celestina found a note in her bag. She opened it and was instantly overcome with giggles. An anonymous sender had specifically asked for a love potion from her, and the note mentioned that it would be given to the sender’s best friend. Celestina did not feel anything was out of the ordinary. She had been sent notes before. Yes, a love potion was a bit off but who was she to deny. The public asked and she served. So she got around to making a potion and left it where the sender had asked her to keep it. A few days passed with no message from the sender or the said best friend. Until next week, a knock sounded on her door. Dante Calderossi, in all her glory, stood at Celestina’s door, and Merlin, was she shocked when the first words he spoke were, “I love you.”

A very confused conversation and a few drops of an antidote later, she found out what had happened. Dante had no “best friends” and the sender had just been trying to pull a prank on both Celestina and Dante. But little did they know, they would be starting a solid friendship between the two. Dante would often find himself staring at Celestina, and he told himself it was only the effects of her being a Veela but deep down he knew that was not true. She was the only one who could understand what it felt like to be the talk of the entire university. And while Celestina adored the spotlight, Dante did his best to not give fuel to fire. Long conversations soon turned into late night walks. All in vain, though, for Celestina just thought of him as a friend.

Celestina, in her fourth year, started dating some other guy and Dante distanced himself. That was the end of their friendship for then until some years later when Dante would be offered the choice to wed her, and he, of course, said yes. A lot of their time would be spent on talking about how their lives had changed in the past years, how they had changed, and laughing over their university days. Life felt different now, as it should. Six years into their marriage, Violetta and Irida were born, both with Veela blood. Irida looked up to her mother for the first few years of her life. Being a Veela, she leaned towards combat. She would train with Celestina, the latter showing the former new techniques every time they practiced. Celestina, however, preferred singing and thus, spent more time with Violetta than she did with Irida as Violetta was interested in singing too. Irida soon learnt to live with the feeling of being left out.

Her Veela genes were enough to charm the others in the house, namely her siblings and cousins. Out of the six children, Irida was perhaps the one everybody enjoyed putting on display. She would showcase the different moves she learnt while swordfighting. Everybody would parry with her with imagined swords and she would sometimes even teach them certain moves. Other time she would sing a song requested by one of the others. Violetta would join in and it would be a wonderful evening for the children.

Irida had also been the one to pick up the language before Violetta. She would show off to the others, speaking in a language none of them could understand. Sometimes she’d curse the others. Other times, she would say funny things. Nobody ever understood and Irida loved that. Fascinated by this ability of hers which nobody except Violetta seemed to possess, she would start learning to write the language at the mere age of four.

It was not just the good parts of being a Veela that she inherited, however. Veelas were known to be temperamental. Once enraged, they turn into Harpy-like creatures with wings. Irida, being a part-Veela, inherited the trait of being extremely dependent on her moods and emotions. Having human blood in her prevented her from actually shape-shifting, but she felt like a different person would take over her when she was angry. This could be seen by the fact that she locked herself in her room for four months.

But her Veela genes were not just restricted to her personality. Enzo used to call her a cute puppy. But that happened with everybody, people who passed her while walking would crane their necks to keep looking at her. She never felt uncomfortable — she was, after all, her mother’s daughter — but at times it did confuse her. Of course, she couldn’t see the beauty she possessed. Long, wavy, white-ish blonde hair that rested on her shoulders as a cape. Her skin glowed and she seemed to be some sort of a walking lantern; if she wasn’t human, she probably would have been. Irida Calderossi embodied the Veela in her with grace, accepting it as a crown placed on her head.

History:

Sakura was born just outside of Sapporo in Hokkaido, Japan to Asahi Hirano and Haruka Yamada. She is a pale, petite girl, with straight, jet black hair that cascades down her back, always looking effortless. Her eyes, nearly as dark as her hair, were piercing. She tends to speak very formally, something she learned from her countless etiquette lessons she attended along with her other lessons. Her grandmother Kaori is a stern woman who never let Sakura miss a lesson as she was always expected to join the numerous parties their family hosted and attended. While they weren’t the most entertaining lessons, Sakura never complained as she was eager to please her grandmother.

Growing up, Sakura knew not to discuss the topic of her mother around her grandmother as it angered her and bringing it up to her father always upset him. The short time she would get to spend with her grandmother Mai, her mother’s mother, each year was truly the only time she was able to hear stories about her mother and feel that closeness to her since she never got to know her. One thing though that no one ever brought up was what happened to her and the not knowing always gnawed at her.

Her mother, Haruka, was born to a muggle father and a pure blood wizard mother. Haruka attended Mahoutokoro since she was a young child, starting with the day program and then going full time at eleven years old and eventually graduated at the top of her class. Haruka’s mother, Mai, decided to settle down with her husband and help him run his family’s hot springs that had been passed down from his parents. Mai also runs a small business on the side selling herbs and plants she grows in her greenhouse to other wizarding families.

Sakura’s father, Asahi, was born into a long line of vampires. His mother was very vocal about her dislike for the wizarding community with how they had been treated over generations so when she found out that Asahi had started dating a young witch, she was not pleased. Asahi was very much in love with Haruka and did his best to protect her from his family.

Haruka became pregnant with Sakura and Asahi moved them into a large home together where they made plans to raise their baby girl together in secret, away from his family. A few months after Sakura was born, Asahi’s family had heard word that he had moved in with Haruka and had a child. Haruka left the baby with their nanny so she could go visit her mother while Asahi had gone out for work. As Haruka left the house two of Asahi’s uncles came and took Haruka away. Asahi had returned later on but his wife was no where to be found. He talked to the nanny who explained she left to visit her mother hours ago so he contacted Haruka’s mother but she had not heard anything either. In the end his wife’s disappearance remained a mystery and he was forced to raise the baby alone, never finding out the truth of what happened to his love.

After a year of raising the baby alone, Asahi’s mother arrived unannounced to his home and insisted she be raised with their values. Asahi was not keen on Sakura growing up around his family knowing how they feel about wizards, since Sakura was half vampire and half wizard herself. His mother was persistent and eventually persuaded him into allowing her to teach Sakura vampire history as well as some other values and things that would allow her to pass within the vampire high society and even gave Sakura her first blood pop.

Growing up, Sakura was quiet, preferring to be alone where she could read or continue to pursue her musical hobbies. Her interests in music and clothing were clearly influenced by her upbringing, preferring to practice classical music on the violin and piano and wore clothing that was black or other dark colors. With her fair skin and condition she preferred clothes that were long or covered her up, taking on a darker gothic style as she got older.

Sakura’s first instance of magic came when she was six years old. She was visiting her grandmother over winter break and had been playing around in the garden next to her grandmother’s greenhouse. When a rabbit surprised her suddenly by hopping out of the garden she backed up and hit against a table that was set up with supplies and things for gardening. Without thinking, Sakura reached her hands out to try to save the falling items but found that she stopped them from falling off without a single touch as they magically floated back to their spots on the table. Her grandmother ran over after hearing her yell and saw the end result of what happened. At first she was shocked but then was pleased to see their family’s magic lineage was still inside the young girl. As the only granddaughter, she was happy that she would be taking after her mother in some way.

The Hirano family’s lineage had been one that stretched back many generations. Sakura learned from an early age that she was special, in more ways than one. Her grandmother on her mother’s side told her when she was six and had her first instance of magic that she was part wizard but even earlier than that she learned from her father and her grandmother on his side that she was also like them but not fully. She was part vampire, a dhampir they called it. Sakura had so many questions, she was just a kid and what she knew of vampires at the time was not much but stuff of stories and movies. Was she going to be a blood sucking monster that couldn’t control their thirst? Was she going to get any powers like she had seen in some iterations?

Her grandmother was quick to teach her about their history, the good the bad and why they have been working to be more accepted, even now half breeds of all kinds were finally being accepted into magical schools around the world. So she would get to attend the school her mother went to but would have to hide this part of her still as she learned it still was widely looked down upon to be the child of a vampire.

What she did learn was that she did not need to survive off of blood like her other family on her father’s side had to. Although her grandmother still offered her blood pop treats every once in a while, something she gratefully took so she could be accepted by the family. Many of the family members would treat her as less than, much like how pure bloods used to look down upon muggle borns. She was treated as though she wasn’t like them but still she wasn’t like others. She wasn’t a regular human, much less a regular witch. A half breed. Half witch and half vampire. As time went on she continued to pursue the desire to be accepted by the vampire half of her family by joining them at parties and for any special occasions. She would ask her grandmother many questions as well as the tutor she was given who was also a vampire. Her education included all the required subjects as well as some etiquette but also she learned much about vampire lore as it was something was closely guarded within the vampire community.

Despite wanting to attend Mahoutokoro like her mother did so she could also learn about the wizard side of her family, her grandmother did not like this. It became a cruel reminder that she was not like the others in her family and she knew they would most likely ostracize or bother her during family gatherings. Ultimately her father did push her to go to the day school after she turned eight. While she attended the day school she would continue to receive her etiquette and vampire history lessons throughout the week as well.

If special race/ability, how did they join the school?

Name: Hayato Ichiyagi
PC Name: Rosaline Everhart
Year: First Year

Status: Pureblood
Residence: Ehime, Japan
Nationality: Japanese
History:
Reducio
Hayato Ichiyagi is the son of Fusako Ichiyagi and Daiki Sugasaki. He was born with love and care. He grew up in a Wizarding household, and both his parents are from pureblood families. The marriage started beautifully— with some objections— but it decayed quickly. The Ichiyagi clan is a prominent pureblood clan in Japanese wizarding society. Their history can be traced back to the Sengoku Period. The long line of the ability to foresee the future had turned the tables in the turmoil and maintained the family influence into modern times. Following the Peerage Act (Kazoku-rei 華族令), the Ichiyagi family was ennobled with the title of Viscount. The Sugasaki clan, on the other hand, was the Ichiyagi family’s retainer clan.

In 2014, Hayato was born in Ehime, a beautiful place surrounded by the ocean and mountains. The first five years in Hayato’s life were eventless. The Ichiyagi family provided them with a comfortable environment. They lived in a traditional mansion near the shrine operated by Fusako. Daiki was busy with his business in Osaka. From time to time, he would come to Ehime visit his wife and son. Fusako’s two elder siblings and their families lived near them. Sometimes Fusako was busy at work, her sister-in-law would help her take care of Hayato. When he was a kid, he loved meeting his cousins. The Ichiyagi Clan values family greatly, so they prefer to educate their descendants on their own before they go to Mahoutokoro. Hayato learnt English and how to play the violin from several private tutors. At the same time, he was exposed to equestrian and Japanese Archery (Kyudo). Although he doesn’t remember much from that time, he still treasures it.

In the Ichiyagi clan’s former territorial extent, they own a shrine managed by Fusako. She is a gifted Herbologist who knows all the herbs and plants in that area. Daiki is an entrepreneur. He started his own company, selling magic-related material and potions. Soon, after he gained enough money, he wanted more, more than being an appendant to Fusako, a perfect heiress. In a business trip to Kyoto, he met a geisha. They fell in love quickly. A year later, Fusako and the geisha gave birth to their children, which were Hayato and Hizuki.

At his five-year-old birthday party, everything changed. Fusako brought a boy his age to their house. His name is Hizuki Sugasaki. The boy looked like him, also like his father. Fusako soon divorced Daiki, yet she took the boy into their house. At first, it was awkward between Hayato and Hizuki. Hizuki was quiet and timid, and Hayato, on the other hand, was really outgoing and confident. He quickly knew that Hizuki was his half-brother. He didn’t ask further questions because he knew how he should perform.

After their divorce, Fusako acted the same as before with the two boys, didn’t show her preference, and being a great mother to both of them. As time went on, Daiki cut all his connections with the Ichiyagi Clan and built his own company in Osaka. He rarely saw or visited Hayato and Hizuki. Yet Hayato wanted to meet his father; one time, he ran away with Hizuki, trying to go to Osaka by themselves. The plan didn’t work out because the townspeople recognized them easily and sent them back to their house. Fusako knew she couldn’t keep them apart, so she asked Daiki to visit the boys regularly. Afterward, Daiki would take Hayato and Hizuki to Osaka for a week every month. Their father spoiled them with new toys and trips to all the theme parks.

When Hayato reached the age of seven, he and Hizuki both received the notice from Mahoutokoro. They went there and studied together. Besides studying, Hayato enjoys surfing and playing drums, as well as the obligatory archery and foreign languages studies. Though practicing violin to him is an obligation, the pure pleasure when he plays music is real. He gradually realized the burden of being an heir in a well-known pureblood family in Japan. He needs to attend traditional rituals and ceremonies at the shrine and go to Tokyo and Kyoto for the events held by former Kazokus. Having more awareness of how power and money worked in society, he put his childish and soft-hearted nature aside, starting to wear a social mask whenever he interacted with others.

The day Hayato and Suzuki ran out at the age of six, trying to go to Osaka on their own, he showed her magic talent for the first time. After they’d been brought back to the Ichiyagi estate, Hayato was extremely upset. Hizuki stayed on his side, wanting to console him, but it didn’t work out. Fusako noticed his emotion and called them to the drawing room, asked the servant to prepare tea and Hayato’s favorite wagashi (Japanese sweets) for them. Hayato sat on the zabuton (seat cushion) quietly, not quite like himself. Hizuki sipped tea at the side. When Fusako opened her mouth, ready to say something. Suddenly, the teapot started emitting smoke and trembling. It seemed to be spoiling by itself. Eventually, the teapot exploded. Fusako pulled two of them aside to keep them safe. Hayato’s gaze was still fixed on the fragment of the teapot, face red, as he got pulled away. At that moment, Fusako realized his silent anger cast the magic power on the teapot.

Special Race/Ability: Seer
Reducio
The long line of seers in the Ichiyagi clan can be traced back to the Sengoku Period. The ancestors of the Ichiyagi family were vassals of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. They have several Seers in the long course of clan history. The clan served as a military strategist for the influential families that sought their help. They honed their abilities of prophecy and vision, and also studied maritime affairs as their territory was near the Seto Inland Sea, a significant trading location. Even when the generation didn’t have any Seers, they could still use their knowledge to plan and strategize for those families and regional factions. Century after century, they had become one of the important pureblood families in Japan, expanding their power as far as East Asia.

Ever since Hayato was little, he had been taught what a Seer would feel and sense. The last Seer of the Ichiyagi clan was his uncle, Fuga Ichiyagi; his talent was discovered at an early age. He has outstanding intuition, just like his uncle. At first, Hayato couldn’t tell if the haunting feelings were his intuition or a coincidence. He somehow dodged a fairly large number of dangerous situations in his life by his frighteningly accurate intuition. Yet he was still doubting whether those were only him being lucky or not.

Until the day he turned five, Hayato dreamt of another boy who looked like him. His father held the boy’s hand and gave him to his mother. A Geisha-looking woman stood on the far side, seemingly crying. She was so beautiful that Hayato couldn’t forget her face. The droplets of tears streamed down her white-painted face, turning into pearls of white. The dream was too vivid, but he forgotten most of it, and only remembered the face of the Geisha-looking woman. On that day, the Ichiyagi family was busy preparing his birthday feast; they needed to entertain approximately several dozen people. Hayato had a bad feeling as soon as he woke up. The birthday feast hadn’t even started, Fusako came home with a pale boy, Hayato knew his name afterward, Hizuki. Hizuki looked extremely similar to Hayato, but with a completely different demeanor. The elders in the Ichiyagi family seemed outraged as Hizuki showed up at the house. Fusako was busy discussing the matter of the boy. The birthday feast was canceled. Hayato and Hizuki were left alone together. Hayato suddenly thought of the dream as he looked into Hizuki’s eyes. The geisha woman had the same eyes as the boy. Hayato understood something vaguely.

He didn’t realize he might be a Seer after this incident. It was when he had another dream that he finally noticed the possibility. He consulted with his mother first. Fusako knew he had the Seer ability as Hayato described the dreams he had. Then Fusako sent him to Fuga’s place. His uncle explained the importance of being a Seer in the Ichiyagi clan for him and taught him how the ability works. At that moment, he knew he was a Seer. But he wasn’t sure how to carry this weight of responsibility on his shoulders.
If special race/ability, how did they join the school?

I'm Olivia, Oliva May Sato. I was born on August 26th, 2014 to Clara and Akio Sato. I was born in Gastadd. I'm a muggleborn witch. Meaning I had absolutely no idea that I was a witch. When I was 5 I found out I loved acting. And singing. So when I was eight I received a call for a lead role on a huge international tour. That show was The Sound Of Music. Somehow I got the role of Bridgitta. She was a prankster kind of like me. It was really fun I met some amazing people and I got an agent. When the tour was touring Japan my parents fell in love with it. But we lived in Gastadd all the way up till I was 8. I even did more tours. Including Matilda where I starred. But when I was in Gastadd, I studied at John F. Kennedy International School. That's how I was so fluent in English, Italian, Swiss German, and Japanese. I was also fluent in Chinese because my mother was Chinese and Japanese. Though my father was Swiss-Italian. When I was 2 my younger sister was born. Her name was Collette. She was a bit of a menace at times, but we weren't just normal sisters. At times, we were partners in crime. When I was 8 I moved to Japan. I was crying when I had to say goodbye to my friends. They were my best friends too. So off to Japan I went. At age 10 I started to try out for a K pop group. Why? I really don’t know. But they were seeking girls my age and I was taught that if there was an opportunity, take it. I got in! On my birthday! But that was the same day, I found out that I was a witch. I was happy, but I was also SOBBING because I had to turn down the job. My mother was able to CAREFULLY explain it to them and they allowed me to be the extra member during summers.

Akane Shimizu: a medicinal root growing on the bank of a clear spring. Akane is the first child of Natsuko Mura and Akihoto Shimizu, followed a year later by her sisters Rinka and Inaho. All three are fairly close.
Both the Shimizu and Mura families are well respected and well known in wizarding Japan. They are based in Nara, the first capital of Japan, creating the rumor that they could have been descended from royalty, but this was not confirmed future plot?. The family's estate sits at the base of the Kii mountain range, far from large muggle centers, but the occasional adventurer might find themselves suddenly with the urge to return to where they started when nearing it, thanks to the ward Akihoto had set up. The family business is wandmaking, passed down from generation to generation, most often utilizing cherry, cedar, and cypress.
Like the moon she was born under - fully illuminated by the sun, the child grew up with her parents constantly present. The sisters were taught by Natsuko and Akihoto themselves, who never deigned to hire a tutor; the couple, though well off, would not spend on something they could achieve themselves. After Akane's FIOM, there was only about a year until she was old enough to attend Mahoutokoro's day school, an escape for her and a slight rest for her parents.

First Magic:

When Akane was 6, she was sent to the greenhouses near the main house, to collect mugwort roots, for Natsuko to make into mochi. The girl started to explore the greenhouse, making her way past plants both mundane and magical, until she reached the green plant, sitting in a small terracotta pot. She reached in with her hands, trying to pry away the root from the soil, but it would not budge. She tried the shovel instead, digging with all her might until the shovel slipped from her hands, bringing the plant, pot and all, flying at high velocity towards her.
Akane was sitting on the floor in a heap, dazed, not registering what to do, and closed her eyes with both arms over her head, expecting a heavy impact. However, it never came, so she cracked one eye open, and then both, to look at the shovel and pot suspended perfectly in the air, about a forearm's length from smashing into her.
She stood up in a hurry, looking at hanging mess. Just as she was out of the way, it dropped to the floor unharmed. Akane ran back to the house with the items, where Natsuko patiently explained that this must have been her first instance of magic.

Growing up in Pakse, Laos Ryusei was used to live in a far mansion at the end of the city. His mother was Japanese and his father was Laotian. They met when he was traveling to Japan and soon married, chosing to move to Laos because of his work. Both were coming from strict pureblood families, however each of them had their secrets. Jai Keo was a dhampir, while Ai Ishikawa was a vampire.

Despite the initial disagreement, their families accepted their marriage, but were sad when Ai moved to Laos. She was working as a magizoologist, spending most of her time with different plants, including those that used in healing. Jai was working at the hospital. After 3 years of marriage they got a boy and decided to name him Ryusei.

Since his childhood he knew he was different from other children. He wasn't fully human and his parents made sure to educate him about who he was and what he wasn't supposed to do. He attended a wizarding school, but as he got accused of misbehaving, he soon started to have a private education. His tutor was a strict person with his own ideals, and it made Ryusei think carefully before speaking.

When Ryusei was 7, his father Jai got an offer from Japan. After some discussion, the whole family moved to Japan. Privately his parents really wished for Ryusei to get to Mahoutokoro. Japanese language didn't bother the boy. He learned it from his parents and was communicating with his mother's side of family in Japanese. However, moving there to live proved to be harder. Fukui, Japan was his new home. His neighbor Kaito was the only one Ryusei became friends with.

Another mansion and being in Japan meant more strict rules, as his Japanese grandparents expected him to withhold high standard. His escape was guitar and sometimes meeting with Kaito. His private education continued after the moving. However Ryusei was never he happy and free boy he was in Laos. He became cold, more distanced. Everything his grandparents expected him to be.

First Magic: When he was 8, after one year of moving to Japan, his grandparents told him that they're disappointed that he was a dhampir. Ryusei couldn't handle his anger and ran away to his room. Attempting to calm himself down, he grabbed the guitar and tried to play, but no matter how hard he tried, his anger was burning within him stronger than before. Some movement caught his eye and he saw a beautiful paper, in the shape of a butterfly, to levitate for a few seconds before landing back at the table. His paper butterfly he made earlier was another hobby that he kept private. And surprisingly, this was enough to let the anger pass. He sighed. He will get that beautiful potted miniature cherry blossom with the invitation from Mahoutokoro and go there, just like his parents wished.

Jai Keo was born in a family of dhampirs. They lived whole their lives in the mansion big enough and looking old enough for others to not be interested in coming closer. Ai Ishikawa, however, was born in a family of vampires. They didn't know the whole lineage, only knew it was going far to the generations that were long forgotten. Their mansion in Japan looked more like a castle. When Ryusei was visiting it a couple of times, he was lost.

As a child of vampire and dhampir, Ryusei turned out to be dhampir, like his father. It has created some tension with occasional disappointment between him and his Japanese grandparents. However, as a child, Ryusei didn't understand the difference. He was only aware that he was different from the other children around him and it added tension. It was hard for Ryusei to find even one friend. He also knew that there's some difference between him and his mom. But what it was a child couldn't comprehend. Perhaps later he would understand more.

As he was growing up, his parents explained everything about their families and about who he is and what will happen later. He understood some things from it, as he noticed the change in eyes when the black part of it was becoming bigger. He noticed how he was always required to wear long sleeves and avoid going out in sunny weather. It was painful to be under the sun for a short time. He had never been allowed to stay under it for a long time, not that he ever wanted to even try.

It all was finally starting to make sense. After his moving to Japan, Ryusei was thrilled to find a best friend, who also happened to be a dhampir. A friend he was so happy to have that he was trying his best to not be distant with him. However, the life became harder for him in Japan. His grandparents decided to visit more often and give him education that they considered important. All the while they occasionally were making sure he knew they were disappointed he wasn't like them.

Their words were hurting until he became cold and distant. It made it harder to learn more about how to be a dhampir and what it even meant. But he thought he was slowly getting better at navigating his behavior around his grandparents and parents. His father was helping him to understand more about dhampirs and his mom was supportive and the kindest person. But with his grandparents, he learned that non-humans were not trying to make it official and we're not accepted in many schools.

So from the childhood, he kept his identity to himself. That wasn't too hard, but he started to hate uncomfortable questions, so he started to act more cold. His eyes were changing in the dark the way he didn't see other children have. With only exception for his best friend Kaito.

What else was noticable to him since his childhood was the fact that while his family didn't bite any humans, they were having a blood supply every day. And every day he was eating it too, along with the normal food other children ate. He learned that he shouldn't bite humans. This was a part of his education from his parents, grandparents and tutors.

If special race/ability, how did they join the school? Ryusei from childhood learned to keep his identity secret. Whenever uncomfortable questions about why his eyes look black in the dark or why he's wearing long sleeves and seems to hate sun started, he always made up some stories. His skin was just sensitive, the person must be mistaken and so on. It became a habit and as he acted cold and distant, even arrogant, less children seemed to even focus on him long enough to start having questions.

Kaito grew up in a warm, loving household raised by Daichi Shinozaki and Rena Shinozaki. The two of them moved to New Zealand for their jobs choosing Queenstown for the cloudy environment in the mountains as Daichi was a vampire and Ren was human half-blood witch. They taught him to value people as who they are rather than just their blood status. They lived in Queenstown, New Zealand enjoying a peaceful quiet life tucked away in their mountain home. Both his parents tended to the home and completed most of their work from home, shielding Kaito from the harsh realities of the outside world. However when Kaito was six years old, his father was mysteriously pulled away for urgent work in Japan and was never seen again. Daichi worked as a Hit Wizard working with dangerous criminals and was called on these trips not very often. Each time he knew how dangerous they were and what the consequences could be, but loving his job, he went anyway. He was able to complete his job, but just barely managed to make it out alive and a little while later, he was proclaimed deceased. Authorities claimed it was because of Magical Exhaustion, evident in his past bursts of a lot of magic in a short period of time on similar trips and his history of using little magic at home. Only a few weeks later his mother passed away, in the shock and grief of her husband passing away, leaving Kaito entirely alone, and deeply depressed.

With no remaining connections in New Zealand, he was forced to move to the coastal estate in Fukui, Japan, to live with his distant aunt and uncle. However unlike his parents, his new guardians were cruel, elitist pureblood vampires or dhampirs, who resented Kaito, as his parents had left the majority of their massive family fortune to him. He was consistently subjected to the strict control and cruelty of his aunt and uncle. One such example was when he attended his mother and father’s joint funeral at the age of seven, six months later, and after that they commanded that he never speak of them again.

Starting the day after, Kaito started to hear strange talks between his snobbish cousins, aunt and uncle, about the possibility of arranging a marriage between him and one of his distant cousins, a cruel, strict girl a few years older, in an attempt to secure his inheritance. This marriage could be put into place after Kaito graduated from Mahoutokoro. Kaito was too young at the time to understand and thought this was a good thing before realizing later what a mistake that was and how it would sign his life away. For the rest of his childhood, he was constantly monitored, given little to no freedom and was forbidden from interacting with anyone deemed “lesser” by his new guardians. His only escape was talking to his best friend Ryusei in the neighboring mansion where they soon forged an incredible bond.

Throughout his time at the Fukui mansion, Kaito buried the sweet, naive child he used to be curled up in his mother’s arms. He learned to armor himself in a facade. He stopped speaking unless spoken to, reducing his vocabulary to icy, single word answers. He allowed himself to dress in stuffy suits like a cold and careless aristocrat. And by the time he was a teenager he forgot everything else. He forgot how to smile. How to let people in. How to display his inner emotions. Everyone saw him as an arrogant pureblood because that was what he was trained to be. Everyone but his best friend Ryusei. But when his letter to Mahoutokoro finally arrived, it only took a few weeks of exposure in the real world to remember everything his parents had taught him. And learn exactly how to rebel.

Kaito’s first instance of magic happened much later than his aunt and uncle would have liked. Because of this, he was only able to attend Mahoutokoro’s day camp for one year. At the age of 10, Kaito was arranged a meeting with the girl his aunt and uncle had been talking about for a while. He had heard of talks of them possibly being betrothed in the future and this would be his first meeting with her. As a charm of good luck, Kaito had brought the glass rose pendant that his mother typically wore, as it had been his mother’s good luck charm. He tucked it under his button down shirt.

The meeting had started relatively pleasant, the two conversed while eating and asked each other questions. However it was obvious that Kaito did not want to be there, as he had been dragged by his aunt and uncle. The girl, finally tired of his lack of attention grabbed him by the collar, demanding that he show more attention and then noticed the glass rose pendant and proceeded to rip it off of his neck. She had no idea how much it meant to him. She dropped it on the floor, letting the glass rose shatter into a million pieces.

Kaito, angry, and extremely unhappy had screamed at the time, shoving her over into the chair. As he did so, the glass rose pendant magically levitated back together into his hands. She lay on the floor next to the chair watching Kaito holding his pendant. That was the first time Kaito had displayed any magic. His aunt and uncle were happy that he had displayed his first instance of magic but were also extremely unhappy that he had disrespected her. In the next week, Kaito began to attend Mahoutokoro day camp however which he enjoyed a lot more than just staying in the Fukui mansion.

Kaito's father, Daichi Shinozaki was a vampire. His side of the family had all been vampires and dhampirs, including his parents and siblings where he lived in Fukui, Japan. However when he moved to Queenstown, New Zealand for a job, he met Rena, a witch. They worked together in their job, as coworkers, then eventually friends and finally after sharing so many days together through the ups and downs, slowly fell in love. Daichi ended up switching jobs and Rena continued on the same path but both of them continued their relationship.

His parents disapproved of this relationship, but a few months before their marriage, they passed away. His sister, Aiko had married another vampire, Sota someone his parents had approved of, sparking his parents to compare Daichi to his sister constantly. The two of them decided that even though it went against his parents wishes, they wanted to be together anyways and so they married at a small venue with only some close friends. When Aiko and her husband heard the news that Daichi had married a human, even if she was a witch, they freaked out, especially because they believed it disrespected their parents. Daichi believed that if they were alive they would see the love they shared and agree nothing could stop that. This conflict caused a huge rift between them and they lost contact until Daichi disappeared and Rena died from a mysterious illness. Kaito, not having any family in New Zealand moved in with Daichi's sister, Aiko.

Kaito never spoke of being a dhampir. His parents never spoke of it either. However, he was immediately introduced to the life of living with those who only talked about vampire and dhampir relating things. Kaito realized how little he knew of this topic. All his life, Kaito had learned never to drink blood, and to basically act like a human, even though he wasn’t fully one. He tried to continue doing that in this new environment but it became difficult. As his black spot on his eyes grew, he had to accept that he was not human.

He began to see the differences grow more and more. He realized he was paler than most, the ring around his eyes were darker than most, and while he didn't crave blood, he knew he would eat it if he wanted. Yet, he continued not trying to embrace that side.

Kaito never had a problem with his dhampir side because he knew how to control it easily from his parents back in New Zealand. However this became even more and more difficult as he grew older. His cousins, aunt and uncle would constantly try to make him lose it and go out of control. For this reason, Kaito learned to put up a cold barrier.

His saving grace was when he eventually met his best friend Ryusei, his next door neighbor who was also a dhampir. Together, they were able to figure out how to manage their differences. The two of them spent a lot of time together, mostly in Kaito’s case so he could get out of the house, but also because he enjoyed spending time with Ryusei. Slowly he learned that being a dhampir wasn’t a bad thing but it wasn’t a good thing either. You had to have the right balance and control to live with it, something that neither his parents nor his new guardians taught him, leaving him very confused. But with Ryusei the two of them were able to figure out what it meant to be half human and half vampire. And what it took to live between two worlds as a dhampir.

If special race/ability, how did they join the school? Kaito though a dhampir, acted almost as if he was a human, with only slight differences in his appearance. Because of this, no one really suspected he was a dhampir. He was frequently described as having vampire like traits but no one dared to speak that out loud. He was easily able to get by his first few years with no one knowing his special race until finally it was accepted. Still, even when special races were allowed, he chose to remain silent, only telling his close friends such as Ryusei about it.

(i) Current stats count as 49, when half-breeds get 45 as a 4th year. Please remove some from both this app and the ency
(ii) We no longer copy paste special abilities in a characters trunk, instead it will be linked to this application post. Please remove the dhampir app from this characters trunk
(iii) You may have dual nationalities but the account can only hold 1, please choose either Japanese or New Zealander depending on where they were born (I think New Zealand?)
(iv) He cannot have a fiancee at age 6. There can be talks of it, and they can meet with the intention of them getting to know each other - but nothing should be official as engagement is for 4th years+ , while marriage is allowed for 6th years and above as stated here. This means the FIOM can happen but she cannot be referred to as his fiancee
(vi) With access to the family world as Dhampir, it would be considered family abuse not to let him even heal the scar at his back. Furthermore this goes against the site ratings a little bit, will be owled for clarification
(vii) Some history needs clarity
Reducio
a) He doesn't need to know what happened to the father but we do need some clarity as to what happened to him. Is he alive or deceased?
b) The parents of his father died- what happened to them?
c) Rena the mother- how did she die? Mysterious Ilness mother has must be explained (as well as blood status, keep in mind witches can only get magical maladies or death by magic.

(viii) slight thing- could you add that they received a potter cherry blossom flower alongside a letter to accurately reflect Mahoutokoro lore?

(i) The explanation for what happened to his father was still unclear - but adding it in a footnote like you did with about him likely coming back is a good way to be clear about what Kaito knows and what he doesnt

(ii) "Kaito decided to not heal the scar as a reminder what he lost" is not strong enough of a reason to justify why he would keep the scar. Your options for this is to either make it a magical accident instead ( maybe their relatives were hexing him often or spilled failed potion on him )

(iii) The act of cutting his hair and nipping his skin seems to concerning still. To be safe, please be vague about how deep the cut is. For example, the word 'deep' could be removed- and the wording could be adjusted so it vaguely look like an accident (even if it may not be).

(iv) There is still mention of the girl being referred to as his 'fiancee' in the FIOM, please remove this
Hopefully fixed? 🙏🏽 -Reyna

The Mochizuki(s) (望月) were never your average family, not average by anyone's standards for anything they're considered to. A family founded by 5 people, 3 witch sisters, their younger squib brother, and his wife who's a Japanese witch, or rather, she preferred to be called a shaman.

The 3 sister witches and their brother were originally from Europe, but they wanted to leave due to the witch trials, they executed muggles that were suspected of magic, so what would they do to actual witches? Muggles are cruel and senseless. Leaving wasn't about safety necessarily, they can protect themselves with magic, but the three sisters strived to use magic freely without the need to hide, and they certainly didn't want to watch muggles hate everything that feels even the tiniest bit different.

That's when they met a Japanese witch, she told them they could come with her and leave this continent, to go to a place where they'll receive less hate, in fact they might be liked. And that's how the Mochizuki (望月) family was founded, but the Japanese witch had a secret, she was a werewolf, she didn't intend harm but she feared they'd hate for it. Until on a night with a full moon, the squib brother had gone outside looking for the Japanese witch, but instead of finding her in human form, he saw her transform to a gaunt werewolf. Scared and perhaps baffled, he ran back to his sisters and told them. In the morning, the werewolf thought for sure they will kick her out, or worse, but when she entered the house, she found the three sister waiting to scold her for not telling them sooner, the sisters didn't care about her curse, they cared about her wellbeing.

And so the Mochizuki family became a family that supports those who need support, and adopt those who have nowhere to go, but only from wizards and squibs, there no place for a muggle among them. The three sisters got married to Japanese wizards, and the squib brother married the Japanese witch, the werewolf, and that's how the family was made and divided into 4 main branches, the pureblood branch, the wizard-born and half-blood branch, the werewolf branch, and the squibs branch. The members from each branch are not necessarily connected by blood, in fact besides the pureblood branch most of them aren't, rather the branches just determined their roles.

The pureblood branch the one Shion belongs to, is meant to always be preserved, at least one member from the pureblood branch had to marry a pureblood to continue the family, and because usually only purebloods can be the leader of the family, with only few exceptions in which the leader was a half-blood or wizard-born. The wizard-born/half-blood branch is naturally the one with the mosg amount of people, due to thd fact that the Mochizuki(s) accepted marriages to muggle-borns, half-bloods, and even squibs, the only unacceptable, and sometimes unforgivable, marriages is ones to Muggles, it's not far fetched that you might be disowned if you marry a muggle, the family held deep hate to them. The squib branch was there to help squibs feel accepted and the case is the same with the werewolves branch, another branch that Shion belongs to.

This family wasn't like others where there's one head and one heir, that everyone follows their orders, rather it's more group orientated, they don't accept if one of them gets hurt, and everyone's needs is always in mind, the first and most important rule is "You can dislike another of your own, and you can disagree with them, but you can't humiliate them and you must treat them with respect, we're all one.", and so the family has all kinds of opinions, from those who hate half-bloods and muggle-borns to those who actually like muggles, but everything that contradicts the family's values shall only remain in your heart, because family always comes first.

Shion was raised very sheltered, as she was expected to become the next leader, but perhaps that caused her to be a bit more stubborn and arrogant, she's not a bully, she just feels herself above others for being the candidate to become a future leader. Her arrogance caused the current leader, a kind hearted woman with 3 children, to second guess her decision, they might accept most opinions in the family, but a leader has to embody the family's values to keep them alive, the leader has to be the most humble of everyone, because they aren't their to order the others around, they're there to help the others, they're there to represent them when needed, they're there to be the first sacrifice in times of need, there's need for food? The leader has to give up dinner and breakfast, there's need for money? The leader has to sell their jewels, someone whose parents died needs a guardian? That's the leader's job to become one or find them one.

And so Shion would find herself losing the privilege she had, but her anger remains in her heart, she wasn't abandoned, no, the current leader is still young enough, that by the time they need a new leader alot will have happened and Shion might become the leader, who knows, she's still only twelve, life is still long, and no other candidate has been chosen.

Regarding her parents, they both are vital parts of the family, her father, an outsider whose pureblood family was long gone, has been the leader of the family's potions' business since 2015, and her mother, a Mochizuki from the pureblood branch, holds the keys to the family's vaults and is currently in charge of distributing the funds to the businesses and the allowances to family members.

In Shion's mother's case, the woman stayed with the family, but in cases where a woman, or anyone, was married outside of the family, They're usually encouraged to keep their name and hyphen it with other family's names, because all your children and grandchildren will still be protected by the Mochizuki family if needed, they're considered just as much as anyone a part of the family. However in cases where they're marrying muggles, you can scratch all that, you won't be keeping the name unless you get divorced, one of the famous cases of that is Ema Howard, the daughter of one of their own who went ahead and married a British muggle.

Shion has two younger siblings who are twins, a brother and a sister, they're 2 years younger than her, and very different, they're not arrogant like their elder sister, rather they are like two mischievous little puppies who can and will destroy your homework when given the chance.

She also has alot of other family members, some by blood and some not, and while she might be arrogant, the adults treat her arrogance as if it's something she'll grow out of, and they never let her treat the other children badly.

Note: Ema Howard is Harumi's mother

The girl was very fussy from a young age, throwing tantrums every now and then, the most memorable tantrum was one from when she was only 4, her younger sister had taken her favourite toy and the girl kept screaming wanting it back when all of a sudden a brust of very angry magic caused a shelf to lose whatever held it to the wall and fell onto the ground with all the unique and valuable vases on it shattering into million pieces. After everyone recovered from the shock, they all started fussing over Shion and celebrating, notable to say her dinner was made of sweets that day.

Due to the family's back ground, and its story of founding, werewolves were always an important part of it, the family housed many werewolves, some of which weren't part of the family at all, and were here for the accommodations provided. The werewolves quickly feel at home when they come, and those who don't have a family sometimes take the name of the family.

Because of the amount of werewolves present, the family had precautions ready for full moons, before wolfsbane was invented, they had the werewolves go to a nearby forest and a few would stand gurad to make sure no one got hurt, werewolf or human. When wolfsbane was invented however, the family couldn't have been more happy, the day they learned about it become a full-blown party, the accommodations became a comfortable underground room protected with magic, and a huge supply of wolfsbane, some members of the family even specialised in brewing it, they were all a family after all. No one is allowed to go to the underground room, and children are usually put to bed early on full moons nights to prevent any mishaps, because always they accept werewolves, they know that lycanthropy is a curse no should bear if it can be prevented.

But Shion, the certified rule-breaker of the family, had her own plans, she was always curious about werewolves and really wanted to see one of them in action, so when She was 7 years old, she pretended to go to sleep early, and then snuck into the underground room before the night came, "all of them took their potions anyway" is what she thought, but among them there were newly turned children who were still getting used to their new life, some of which forgot to take a dose or two of wolfsbane and therefore couldn't retain their minds, Shion didn't know that.

She hid in a tiny broom closet just outside the place where werewolves stayed, and when she was sure everyone was inside, she got out and went to try and open the door, the very door that was always kept unlocked so that in case something happened the werewolves could open. She entered, and when she was seen a few of the adult sane werewolves rushed to push her out or hold back the children, naturally she was out of the room in a matter of seconds, but she wasn't the only one outside, a young werewolf escaped, and before Shion could react, he attacked her, injuring her shoulder in the process, she screamed, and adults from the house quickly came down, they were horrified when they heared her, the boy was safely returned to the other room and Shion was taken back to the house to be treatd.

Her injury was on her right shoulder blade, after applying powdered silver and dittany, a mixture that this house always seemed to have, it didn't take long for the wound to start sealing and then heal, nevertheless it left a scar behind, a reminder of how curiosity might lead to dire consequences.

The family scolded Shion for going against the rules, even if the family adored werewolves, they're still dangerous, and while she was only turned, she could have end up dead. The leader personally spoke with the young girl too, scolded her about paying no attention to her safety, but she also told her that perhaps this was actually a blessing and a test, a way for her to understand how werewolves feel, so that if she ever becomes the next leader, she becomes a kind hearted and sympathetic one that can understand how werewolves feel.

And thus started the never-ending count downs for the next full moons, it was always a routine for the family, but now it became a routine for Shion herself. Her very first transformation came quickly, time, after all, didn't wait for confused people to gather themselves.

She was given the wolfsbane doses for a week like everyone else, and when it was time for the full moon, one of older werewolves guided her with the others to the underground room, she was scared at first, but the other werewolves reassured her.

When transformed she looks almost like a normal wolf (choosing wolf form), perhaps it's because she always lived among people who accept werewolves she didn't feel the need to hold into her human part, she did retain subtle human features making her look uncanny, especially her human-like eyes that stares at your soul as if it can read your very soul, and her height is just about 4 feet.

If special race/ability, how did they join the school? N/A
