IC Information: Ambrose is pretty closed off and does not like to socialize much. And even when he does, it’s not the most pleasant, since he is a very egocentric, conceited person with a bit of an inferiority complex. Writing is a passion of his, and with a quill and some parchment he is much more likely to express his feelings openly, as well as be more open to interactions, which is why it’s the most comfortable route one could take with him. I would like to explore more of his inner feelings and the way he could open up about them through writing, which he finds comforting. I think this could be a good way for him to make IC connections.
IC-Interests: Literature and art are his safe places; he writes a lot himself, and another art he is interested in is music. He played the violin for several years and then switched to piano. Since he is not very into sports, playing an instrument is a good way for him to release his pent-up emotions. He enjoys learning languages (which could be a point of conversation) and is currently learning German, Spanish, and Latin. Dark Arts and other forbidden things have always captured his fascination, and he is open to an acquaintance with whom he can explore the limits of moral dilemmas and the stretches of magic together. He is also fond of animals, which hold a special place in his heart and whose company he much prefers to that of humans.
OOC-Interests: Cinema (especially experimental movies – think "The Act of Seeing With One's Own Eyes" (1972), Maya Deren's "Meshes of the Afternoon" and "The Witch's Cradle," "Satantango," "As I Was Moving Ahead, Occasionally I Saw Brief Glimpses of Beauty" and other works by Jonas Mekas, and way more!! My favorite directors are Tarkovsky, Robert Bresson, Maya Deren, and Kenji Mizoguchi), martial arts (most of my life I practiced Aikido, but now, due to moving, I’ve switched to Karate, which is very different, I know ), experimental music (I play drums myself and admire artists like Aphex Twin, Death Grips, Giles Corey, Boards of Canada, Have a Nice Life, etc.), contemporary art (I go to many local art galleries and participate in their programs myself. I admire the works of Basquiat, Dali, Schiele, etc.). I’m also into rock climbing, horseback riding, fencing, and archery in terms of athletics, and poetry, literature, sculpture, painting, and film from the creatives.
