❀ 𝕷eo jumped a little as he felt a hand on his shoulder and watched as Fred did the same. Behind them Rosaline stood there smiling, clearly knowing she had successfully startled the two boys. "I'm as ready as I can be I guess." Leo said back to her as the group continued their greetings. They made the decision to move into zone 2, well someone did even though Leo hadn't given any input and was instantly regretting not speaking up. Hadn't they just walked enough through the mysterious landscape? Clearly not. Leo was not keen on walking back to the next zone as there were so many sounds around them, there was clearly danger lurking around but he just didn't know what. He would've stayed put in the previous zone but also didn't want to be left alone so he just followed the group.
Once they made their way into zone 2, the group tried to strategize on what to do and where to go next in the attempt to find the opposing teams flag and win the game. However the chit chat was cut short as Leo watched as Rosa and Fred were being tangled up together by an anaconda. He was left in shock for a moment even though he had a bad feeling before this as they had moved through the jungle. "Rosa! Fred! Don't worry we will get you guys out of there!" Leo shouted although he wasn't quite sure how to handle such a creature without getting himself mixed up right along with the two Gryffindors. Before he could do anything else he looked around to make sure no more surprises were coming out from the dense landscape for the other members of the team. During his first year at Hogwarts there had been no end to the dangerous situations they had to face and now they were left to face another. While he was hopeful they could get out of this if they worked together as a team, Leo knew there was surely more issues to come in this game and tried to mentally prepare himself for whatever lied ahead.

She rolled her eyes after hearing his little quip and scoffed as she fixed her braid. However, she mirrored his grin a few seconds later. They were often on the same wavelength when it came to humour and that made Cecilia feel at ease despite the unsettling ambience the rainforest created. Surely there would not be anything life-threatening here, right?
Cecilia quietly admired more of the lush scenery as she wandered out of their base. Sights that were breathtakingly beautiful were often too good to be true. Such was the case with the gorgeous waterfall that they neared. Where many would have taken a normal approach, she decided it would be amusing to by running and leaping off the edge. She dove into the pooling crystal waters below and landed with a loud splash. It seemed like a fun idea until the ripples stirred something beneath the lagoon.
In a matter of seconds, a snake – larger than any she had ever seen in her life – pierced through the surface of the water and startled her. Frozen in fear, she could only stare as it coiled around Rosaline and Fred.

![]() ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #TEAMHOPS Okay, this place wasn't horrible but it smelt horrible than a cowpie baking in the sand on the ranch and that was absolutely saying something. That wouldn't stop him though, Lachlan was the bravest person he knew and wouldn't let something as silly some weird smells stop him from being the best. Gold medal still hanging, Lachy would spin it across his entire neck a couple times as though a hula hoop in a moment of letting the intrusive thoughts win while the others seemed to be focusing on something that he didn't deem as important right now. Oops. What the hell was that? Lachlan's nose scrunched up in disgust as he was forced to continue on and power though. Seemed like some people might've gotten stuck or something. Oh well! The game was just about to start and Lachlan had some icehockey moves in his back pocket that he'd been dying to use on his stepbrother?cousin? Whatever Ilias wanted to be called. It was gonna be so much fun and he was going to show them why Wampus was the best house in all of the Wizarding Schools. Now, if all he could do was figure out where the heck that dang flag was too. Happy to be minding his own business, Lachlan was surprised when this guy taller than he was came up and knew him by name and by his winning the hockey game. " Oh yeah, that's where I got this. " Holding up the medal for the other boys to see. " Cool, cool. Damien and Artie. Your accents make me think of my grandma. She's Scottish, still there too. We go sometime during the Summer. " She made the best cookies but he hated being away from the Ranch. Then another boy showed up, disheveled hair and excited to hear about hockey. " Hell yeah! I've been on the ice since I can remember. Hockey and Rodeo's been my life when it gets too cold for the animals, we hit the rink. " With a shrug. " Not sure though, not much Hockey players at Ilvermorny. Was fun to flex my stuff. Wanted to go pro before you know, all this Wizard stuff appeared. " He was a Muggleborn after all. @damien dragonclaw — @percy todd duplenticy |

Poison Dart Frog vs. Suriname Grasshopper
This event is part of the Castelobruxo International Capture the Flag event
26TH OF JUNE, 2026 IN THE JUNGLE ARENA
MODERATION — ROUND TWO.
Chaos began to bloom so quickly in the jungle that had once been concealed, though it had yet to get dire, these teams were the first that Meiyu observed to move with such motion, contrary to one of the matches she had overlooked earlier on in the day. The binoculars made their way across each zone, noting the difference in atmosphere, zone one and three brought a downpour, zone two a heatwave amidst the downpour occurring on the other sides of the jungle, and zone four housed a jaguar, cautiously manoeuvring through.
Both teams began their intersections, far too much happening at once for Meiyu to pinpoint exactly what was occurring. The Poison Dart Frog team mostly managed to go by fine with the heatwave, all but @Rosaline Everhart and @Frederick Buckley, whom evidently found the heat to be too much — a clear indication the students were from Hogwarts, it was unlikely they frequently experienced such heat, particularly coming from the Highlands. Luck appeared to not be on this team's side, with two failing miserably at whatever they had planned to do, @Erast Yan's futile attempts at spotting the opposing team's flag brought the boy no fruit, whilst his teammate @Cecilia Merrick's horrid attempt at configuring some type of trap only left Meiyu puzzled as she observed from above. Fortunately, dry humour was not in the works with this team, visible smiles would only bait their location to the three grasshoppers who managed to intersect the zone consisting of majority frogs.
The Suriname Grasshoppers were far worse, luck bidding the group a farewell as things only worsened for this team by the mere second. Besides those who had escaped their teammates, this team fixated on a resolve, working together to piece whatever puzzle they believed to be amiss. @Paul Turner was the first, manoeuvring around the zone, evidently ignoring @Artie Kempston who stood frozen this round, unfortunately finding nothing in his attempts to locate any obstacle in the form of a trap. Things would only take a turn for the worst with this team, notably, @Mikaela Hendricks who would be impacted by the downpour, rendering her unable to move, making it difficult for her to attempt to search for the flag as she had hoped — her mission being a pure waste of her own time. Somewhere in close vicinity, @Ellaine Weatherby's attempt at laying a trap had gone so dire that the trap had backfired on her, Meiyu confused as to how the girl had been unscathed by such an incident — still, she watched on with her binoculars honing in on one teammate who succeeded in bringing some humour amongst all that had gone wrong with this group.
It had begun to get interesting, each zone being intercepted by an opposing teammate, who knew how the next round would go? Meiyu had only hoped the teams would start physically fighting, she was getting bored and stifled a yawn amidst her observations.

HOW TO PLAY
The game ends when either team successfully retrieved the other teams flag to their base. Team Poison Dart Frog will be starting the game in Zone 1 and Team Suriname Grasshopper will be in Zone 4 at the opposite end of the arena. There will be at most 10 rounds, each requiring a post of 200+ words. Please make sure you include your character's stats in your post.
During the first round only, each team must state which zone their flag is hidden in to the thread moderator. You may chose to hide the flag in any of the 4 zones. The flag remains in that zone unless successfully discovered or moved through gameplay mechanics. Do not reveal in game where the flag is located.
Each round, everyone in the team must make at least one action from the Capture the Flag actions list, unless they are unable to act due to a status effect or restriction. These actions are zone dependent. The team scores points by making successful flag actions or interceptive actions towards a flag carrier. Please note that players may only move between adjacent zones and cannot skip zones while travelling.
At the conclusion of each round, the zone state map will be updated to reflect all player locations. Players may only target characters who are in the same zone as them at the end of the previous round. If a target moves out of the zone during the following movement phase, the action automatically fails, with the exception of Flag Intercept and non-magical support actions that include a chase mechanic. When performing these actions, the player automatically follows the target into the destination zone as part of the interaction.
If the action fails while chasing, the pursuing player is left behind in the original zone while the target successfully gains distance.
Rules regarding roll resolution, action priority, and other game mechanics can be found HERE.
At least one member of the team must owl the entire teams' action list to @Meiyu Xiang before the posting deadline.

Just as suddenly as the giant snake had appeared, it was gone. Fortunately for Frederick and Rosaline, the creature seemed to lose interest in its prey and slithered away. As Fred caught his breath, he noticed his team splitting up, and to his surprise, three members of the opposing team were making their way toward the stream. From a distance, one of them looked vaguely familiar, though he couldn't place where he knew the face from. Buckley gave Rosaline a quick once-over to make sure she was alright before carefully making his way along the riverbank. The moss-covered rocks were slick beneath his boots, forcing him to watch every step.
With his back turned to her, Fred didn't notice that his friend seemed to be struggling with the sudden heat that had settled over the arena. He felt sweat trickling down his own face, but it wasn't enough to slow him down as he tried to regain his momentum. By now, Sage, Valour, and Ilias were nowhere in sight, so he decided to focus on the teammates who were still with him, as well as the three opponents drawing steadily closer. “Erast, can you see anything from over there?” Frederick called out, raising his voice to get his friend's attention without caring that he was giving away his position. As he moved closer, he noticed that Yan also seemed to be struggling with the stifling heat of the forest. “Uh... maybe if you splash some river water on your face, you'll feel a bit better?”

Damien thought that the regular Amazonian heat was worse however walking through this zone that seemed to have a heatwave felt like he was going to die. Damien didn’t mind the heat but this was just horrible, it made his hair look all sweaty and gross and he hated it, like hello he had a image to maintain as he wanted to impress people while he was here more so Artie then anyone else. He just sighed to himself as his dragged his body through the hot muggy zone. He stopped for a quick second as he took out one of his bottles of water and began to drink out of it, he didn’t know how much longer he would last in the heat like this. Though all of this made Damien wonder was there places even hotter than this, of course he meant actually places and not fictional ones from the stories he read that he could imagine being extremely hot. He looked around at his other teammates to try and see if the heat was effecting them as well, Damien vowed next time he would bring a lot of fans so that way he could just keep himself cool where ever he walked. Or actually he wondered if there was spell for that, he just shrugged before looking at his teammates to see the sweat effecting them too. |

Poison Dart Frog vs. Suriname Grasshopper

✥─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────✥
The wilderness and the mysteries of Mother Nature had never been Erast's field of expertise. As suddenly as the stealthy, large serpent had struck, the predator seemed to have locked its eyes on another prey of interest. Unravelling its grip around Rosaline and Frederick, the anaconda slithered away with a cautionary hiss, disappearing into the dense rainforest.
Following the retreat of the anaconda, the team continued their exploration of the area once more. Each step deeper on the moss-covered rocks and into the rainforest was accompanied with the creeping rise of the temperatures. Heat clung to him and inflated in temperature, and every passing minute blurred his thoughts into a sweaty, sticky mess.
Then, the familiar call of his name from Frederick cut through the heat. Erast tried to reply, “Oh. Uhm... Nothing yet.” He shook his head to clear the heat-induced fog, using his hands to smack his cheeks. He gave a weak but agreeable laugh. “Haha, okay. Thanks, Fred.”
Glancing at the running lake water, Erast barely contained a grimace. Surely, this water is not safe to be put near his face. Well, for survival... Sighing, he bent down. Dipping the dangling end of his silver bracelet into the lake, he observed the colour. Unchanged, glimmering silver. Holding his breath, he cupped just enough water to wet his face and nape. He supposed it helped a little... if he ignored the bits of algae probably stuck to his jaw.

The smell of the muggy, salty water wafted over the edge. The roaring waterfall was blaring, one of the only things Percy Todd could hear. He turned to the other American boy, smiling. "Before all of the wizard stuff?" He repeated, stepping over a frog. The numbers started going through his head. Wizard-born? Definitely not a Pure blood... "Are you a Muggleborn too? Or uh.. No-Maj? I don't remember the term..." He elicited a small hum, looking forward.
The forest was really starting to grow on him. Despite the terribly, terribly sweltering heat, it was truly beautiful. The peeled away at the sweater on his skin, pulling it over his head. He didn't care, at this point. It was other guys, after all. The pale skinned boy watched the ripples of the water and the swirling clouds above the scene. Maybe the other team's flag was hidden here. It would be awfully hard if it was hidden up inside a tree. Percy Todd certainly wouldn't climb all the way, perhaps Lachlan or Artie would volunteer. Or rather- was it down by the waterfall on the other side of the group- One could truly get lost here. Something about the twists and turns and rows of trees and rocks and different cliffs was awfully terrifying. He would have to get past his fear of heights if he wanted to deal with something like the silly flag.

The downpour was horrible. Paul could see nothing through the ropes of an amount of water so huge, and the speed of its falling so high that the raindrops appeared white. Moreover, his eye lashes were hardly managing to catch the water on his eyes, so he sped up the frequency of blinking, which did not help much, therefore at some point, he had to wipe the water off his eyes to be able to do his job and search for the traps. The rain almost felt as if he dived into a swimming pool with a waterfall, or better a lake with one, to remain in the context of a jungle, swam under the waterfall and just stood there, trying to focus his sight on the happenings in front of him. Impossible.
He noticed how @Mikaela Hendricks stopped moving and gave a worried expression. "Hey... ya okay?" Paul stopped walking, unsure what to do. "Dammit. Just, keep calm. It will pass eventually. I'll hang 'round ya." He winked at her and smiled with a small, worried smile which he couldn't really cover well at that moment.
Turner went on to look for a trap. He never left Mika too far behind though.
"Guys, this zone's clear! Didn't find any traps!" Did he exclaim, so that everyone could hear him, though he doubted they would. The sea that the heavens chose to pour on them, was actually very loud.
He saw @Ellaine Weatherby attempt to lay a trap, which then backfired at her. Paul's eyes flicked between Mika and her. Dammit, what do I do now? El's not that far away. I'll still have a view of the frozen girl if I go'n'check on her! Ran through his mind. "Hang in there, I'll be back!" Did he reassure Mika, running towards El. "Geez, El! What'appened? Ya alright?" Paul was worried and startled. There were several students in the castle whom he looked up to due to their abilities, and El was one of them. He wasn't used to her not being successful in the things she did.
Then, he heard something. He had a rough idea where his team members were, as he was going through the zone, looking for the traps. However, this came from a different direction where none of his mates were, as far as he remembered. So he moved that way, to make sure. Huh, they're here finally! This is gonna be fun! Despite all the trouble his team were in, Paul's eyes sparked with mischief, as he drew his wand.

xxx“Geez, El! What'appened? Ya alright?”
A grimace was plain on her face, shielded downwards in a futile attempt to protect against the rain. Of course, they got on her glasses, blurring her eyesight, splattering into her eyes, even squinted as they are. Agitated, she cracked her knuckles, finding satisfaction in the way they voiced their displeasure, each popping in quick succession. She turned her head to Paul’s general direction, staring at the silhouette within her reach.
“The bloody trap wouldn’t start trapping.” Ellaine scowled, the words coming out in a short, clipped tone. She closed her eyes, staying still, before on the count of five she opened them again. It seemed to be working well for her, at least in small increments, as her brows unfurrowed, the words coming out noticably calmer, softer than before. “No, no… It did work but, ah— it sort of backfired. I might be a bit slow for now…” Understatement of the year – though she’d never say it out loud.
She nodded at Paul, standing up slowly, her smile somewhat strained in the downpour hammering down upon them. No point in lamenting over dead opportunities, though the failure did irk her quite so. As things stood, however…
“I’m fine, don’t worry,” she said, and waved him good luck as he went out to check the source of disturbance. Now somewhat alone, a wariness settled into her frame. A blank look on her face, she edged towards the nearest tree, taking shelter underneath its shadows, just in case an enemy got through. Eyes flickering around here and there, she allowed herself to wonder just what became of their teammates up forth in the second zone… Were they suffering a downpour as well?
