At the age of eleven years and eleven days, Arkyn’s life would change forever. Departing his home on a remote northern wilderness in the Shetland Islands, Arkyn disobeyed his mother’s warning not to visit “the Lost Isle.” He was never satisfied with her explanation about why he must not go there. All he was ever told was that a great beast was trapped there by the humans long, long ago, and it was too dangerous to interfere. There was no one strong enough to bring justice. Arkyn was well-studied on mythology, and so he decided this creature may very well be Fenrir himself—a wolf prophesied to contribute to the apocalypse and who was therefore bound to a rock forever, before he had even brought any harm. This must be the reason he was not allowed to go, thought the boy. After the wolf was unjustly condemned, no one had the moral courage to clean up the mess. Of course it would be dangerous, like his mother said. The creature was probably angry, even wrathful, but that did not mean reconciliation should be sworn off. Perhaps a child of the wilderness such as he could help. Indeed, surely even an imprisoned being could be reasoned with and balance could be restored, averting the “end of the world.” This would bring him and his family—no, his entire veela race—great honor, felt Arkyn. Besides, “apocalypse” must be an exaggeration caused by human sensationalism and self-importance. Of course he would be alright, his growing pride told him. He was bigger now and could row a boat there all by himself. He didn’t even need to endanger his sister, but could scout out the place for her. Surely the stories of what he found would thrill her, or make her proud, even if there was no great Fenrir after all.

Once Arkyn arrived on the Lost Isle, he discovered that there was very little to see above ground. Rather, its main feature was a network of ice caves that glittered with otherworldly shades of blue and silver. He used a trusted pick and descended further and further but could not find anything. Arkyn was ready to turn back and go home for dinner, his stomach growling, when he nearly tripped over a length of broken chain. There, behind a frozen wall of deep blue, something moved. Heaving his ice pick, Arkyn finally broke through the barrier with a great groan of splintering ice. It did not take long before the creature beyond was liberated.

All at once a frigid body of wiry muscle fell upon the young boy, but there was no time for conversation. In mere seconds, Arkyn’s blood spilled in all its warmth as a voracious vampire struck with the hunger built up over untold lengths of time. A raw instinctual need to survive overcame all else as the prisoner drained the boy dry. In these last moments of his life as a young veela, Arkyn wondered if he had initiated the very end of the world with his attempted heroism. As the last color and warmth left his cheeks, Arkyn thought of his sister, and whether she would forgive him.

This was not the end for little Arkyn, however. After the bloodlust had passed, rationality returned to the long-imprisoned vampire. Remorse took over once it was clear that it had savagely killed its own liberator. This is how the vampire then made the choice to bring the little part-veela back to life, albeit as its own blood thrall.

After that day, Arkyn’s deep blue eyes of innocence turned to an ever-hungry ruby red. His skin would also echo the pure white snow lining the caves from which he freed the vampire. Further, he would never hunt quite the same way again, and the question of confining the wildness of instinctive need within would follow him evermore.

Birthdate: 16th of October, 2014
Brother of Zyva Hel Fae Skógrwight
Favorite Beast: Qilin
Faceclaim: Jax James
Race: Once simply part-Veela, he has turned unmistakably Dhampir
"Our flesh is woven from the earth, water, and sky:
threads of a tapestry greater than any army."

Arkyn is foremost concerned with the subjugation and destruction of non-human life (both magical and organic). He opposes the expansion of human hegemonic power over realms that were once wild and free. He challenges everyone to fights in order to grow stronger, as well as to win glory and respect for non-humans everywhere as he champions the survival of alternative nature-based ways of life. He therefore comes into conflict often with authority and anyone who would compel him to conform to standards that do not respect his sovereign culture and heritage. Like his twin sister, Zyva, Arkyn is of partial Veela heritage and has platinum blonde hair. However, he is more pale because he is a blood thrall, having been the victim of a vampire in early childhood. His dark ruby red eyes are captivating like a jewel from a dragon’s lair.. Arkyn’s muscular but lithe physique comes from both an active wilderness lifestyle as well as a deeply physical personality. For example, he is known to challenge strangers to wrestle and he revels in daring physical feats. As he is a half-blood born from a non-magical mother, Niahm, and an absent wizarding father, magic has never been Arkyn's strong suit. Arkyn is fiercely defensive of his sister, ambitious, and cares deeply for matters of pride. The Skógrwight twins come from a remote island that is still pristine and mysterious. Similarly, Arkyn is a wild child, growing up with a natural education about the land, sea, and sky as well as all the lifeforms with which his family shares their harsh but beautiful environment.

At age seven, Arkyn was picking his way along the coast one evening after a particularly fierce storm. He was interested in seeing the damage caused by its oceanic surge when, between the massive wooden splinters strewn across on the shore, he found a wounded bird. It was a petrel, and it had been struck by lighting before falling onto the rocks. Reflex drove Arkyn to lay his hands on the dying creature, and with the power of his compassion, the surrounding blood began to flow back into the bird’s battered body. He then hurried home with it to show his miracle to his sister, but unfortunately the bird still died shortly thereafter due to sepsis. Ever since, he began to see thestrals and feel an intoxicating tension between the tenacity and fragility of life.

Niamh Skògrwight was a contemporary in her craft where appearances were everything and performance was paramount, a beautiful lady more than lovely to behold with moon pale skin, star white hair, enthralling glacier blue eyes that when wide open seemed to swallow a person whole and make one's knees weak with awe or--when narrowed into slits as they transformed their hue into a dangerous golden light--instilled terror as one's knees began to knock in fear. Her talents with dance, with song, with recital, and with various instruments were unparalleled among the other women. However... few mortals had ever beheld the little-over-a-century-old Niamh in her true form and lived to tell the tale, and none among those few had been Muggles. Enormous white, black, and golden wings with bristled feathers sharp as any iron blade tore out of the gap between her shoulders, her hands became scaly gold as her fingernails curled into viciously jet black talons reminiscent of raptors, long hair too bristled with golden feathers, and her teeth sharpened into fangs more terrible than wolves'.

The Skògrwights did indeed possess this not-so-secret secret within their tightly knit three-person family in the house of ill repute, that Niamh was a Veela among Muggles. Indeed, she had found herself enthralled with Muggles when she had been a young Veela at the age of 23 when a strapping squad of young, strong, and handsome men lost on their way to invade Bergen had landed instead upon her conclave's secret haven for their Veela ancestors of aeons past.

Trygghavn, a reclusive island of the Shetland Archipelago that found itself lingering close to Norway but caught between the known Muggle world and the hidden realm of magic, was concealed from the active sight of those with weaker minds. It had, according to the Conclave family legend, been landed upon and named by some of the first Vikings around the end of the Iron Age in an accidental seafaring wandering. The handsome Norsemen were curious specimens to the Veela upon the island who had previously only known the Vodyanoy as their male counterparts, and some among the Norwegian men--wizards, though the family legends never understood these men as such--who laid eyes upon the gorgeous women fell to their charms and begot children with them. The Muggles among them called these powerful (and ultimately magical) offspring "Gudske" (poetic: offspring of a god), and their beautiful mothers and the ugly lake god male counterparts to them the Vanir and Jötunn respectively--it was all their minds shaped by their own mythology could identify the lovely and more powerful than life beings who seemed to sing with the voices of water and who possessed the fertility of the earth itself as.

This had also been the unfortunate landing place of those young men in 1940... and their actions there--as invaders--had been perceived as a threat by the current residents both being and creature. Readily they were torn to shreds by infuriated but gorgeous women and lumbering creatures of the deep and of all sorts of dangerous magical creatures which called this island home, but Niamh had found one injured in the boats and had tended to him secretly and in wonder of the curious man who had come upon her land in her lifetime for the first time in over a eon. Their communicative abilities were stricken by the presence of the natural barrier of Norse Veela and Germanic Mugglekind, and though Niamh was entranced enough by the youth's face and physique through the terror he readily revealed at her mere presence, her interest was not long to last--the young man took his life with a hidden weapon Niamh had not relieved him of. She did, however, keep a memorabilia, which she kept in the jewelry box in her room: a erkennungsmarke, whose numbers and letters have worn away to the point that only she knows what they used to be anymore.

From that day, Niamh's intrigue in the human world was inflamed beyond control. The seventh daughter of the seventh daughter, Niamh was expected to remain upon the island and serve as the wise woman of their family... but she could not bring herself to stay. Not when there were more curious creatures the likes of these strange and enthralling young men to observe and investigate. Her curiosity was piqued and her thirst to walk among them was unslakable until she finally was able to depart and did exactly she desired in 1944.

For the next few decades, Niamh wandered and found herself extremely lost in Norway despite taking relative safety in the woods that she could find shelter in. Those bold enough to face the cryptid-like being--and sometimes subsequently disappearing--that had seemed to take up residence in the wood only fed Niamh's curiosity and caused her to crave further amusement from these strange human creatures. By a series of disinteresting and convoluted events, the Veela found herself entangled within the snarls of a house of ill repute--but one of many ladies who serviced these human gentlemen who desired the company of a lovely and refined woman of many talents and capabilities.

And so, Niamh serviced Sinober Kinn [Cinnabar Cheeks], with the name "Skògrwight" that she had fashioned for herself so as to blend in with the rest of humankind upon learning their traditions of a 'surname', a concept that her family was not familiar with. She made a few female friends during her time there who reminded her of her own sisters and countless cousins she had left behind in Trygghavn, met many a man, and found herself continually amused and enthralled with every moment spent with nonmagical kind. She was known as "Felvakre"--the "dark beauty"--and it was well known that she rarely serviced a man twice: they feared her fathomless eyes and the savagery that emanated from her every movement, from her every word.

But there was one man in whom Niamh met her match, a darkness so pervasive and cruel, an individual with depths of wrath and fury that rivaled her own--a man who had been the only survivor of the unveiling of her true form up to that point. His name was Gitano Luca Vero, and it was he that fathered the twins Skògrwight. A Pureblood wizard with a checkered past, few scruples, and fewer inhibitions when it came to the realm of blackmail and threat, Gitano was the first wizard Niamh had ever met during her time in the human world... and she quickly came to be charmed by his looks, stature and tongue just as much as she loathed his wrath, fury, and Machiavellianism which was his defense against the wrath of the Veela and her harpy vengeance. Under the threat of exposure to the wizarding world and a subsequent "witch hunt" that would ensue for attempting to take his life--as ironic as it was--Niamh remained silent about him and his doings, but harbored a secret hate for all of all wizardkind in her heart.

After their encounter that had ended in this vehement exchange of threat and warning, on the night of October 15th into the witching hour of the 16th and surrounded by her fellow lady midwives of the house, Niamh gave birth: first to a boy and then to a girl. Her first children, born of the magical blood that bridged the gap between wizardkind and Veela. The new Gudske of the era. The boy was named "Arkyn"--the Eternal King's Son--and the girl "Zyva"--Slavic goddess of the Arrival of Spring.

Half of wizard blood, half of Veela, born of nature and born of order, born of wrath both of mother and of father. Born to beauty and born to ugliness of the world. Born to discover and cursed to suffer.

The twins Skògrwight... lives that had only just begun.

Potentially Important Clarification(s):
Reducio
- Trygghavn is a plot device location not based on any real location or island in the Shetland Islands of Scotland, though there are some references to landmarks of similar name that have the same reclusive and 'safe harbor' purpose such as Trygghamna. Its purpose is to be the 'Residence' of the Skògrwights so as to allow them to be in the range of location pertinent to Hogwarts' range of student acceptance. It is known that less than 20 islands of the Shetland Island archipelago have residents on them, meaning that there is around 80 or upward other islands either currently 'uninhabited' or 'uncharted'. Niamh's ancestral home is intended to be one of these islands cloaked by Veela & Wizard Unplottability magic.

- Because of the above, Zyva's and Arkyn's residence in the profile is "Shetland Islands, Scotland". This is the closest physical approximation of the location as opposed to claiming Trygghavn (a totally falsified and not real-world location). They do, however, consider themselves Norwegian in nationality (and in citizenship) due to family bloodline and their place of birth being Bergen, Norway.

- No, I am not claiming that these Veelas are the real-world 'Vanir'. It is a family legend (based on misconstrue of their species by early Muggles) and nothing more.

- Yes, Niamh is what one would politely consider a "Lady of the Night". Yes, her children were raised in that building located in a "red light district". They are not involved in any other way other than residence as children in that building and under Niamh's protection (whom she ALWAYS protected).

- I am willing to answer any other questions about any aspect of this application if need be.

On the night which strung itself silkily between the days of 15 and 16 October 2014 as she was surrounded by the Ladies of the House of Sinober Kinn [Cinnabar Cheeks] and with a vibrant Super Blood Moon in the midst of a total lunar eclipse hanging full and crimson in the sky, a full Veela woman named Niamh Skògrwight brought into the world two children: first a boy and then a girl. Fair they were: their was hair soft and fine even as its fair and thin white-blonde hue was stained by afterbirth in same color as the moon they had been born beneath, their skin was velvet soft and pale as snow, their eyes were blue as oceans and glaciers, and their twin cries filled the air in harmonious tandem of male and female. Born to a world that was cold and feral, but they themselves so warm and full of life as infants so weak and helpless, the twins Skògrwight were immediately welcomed in and worried over by not only their own mother but by the rest of their "mothers" of the House. The boy was named "Arkyn" and the girl, after much chatter and debate amongst the women and the careful consideration of Niamh herself, was named "Zyva". Niamh gifted her the two additional names "Hel" and "Fae" after the Queen of Helheim and an allusion to the faer folk of the Alvenkind.

The Madame was kind enough to allow Niamh a break from her services to care for her children when they were young, though she had strongly advised to give them up if Niamh did not intend to leave the establishment. Niamh resisted both options very strongly, and with a little extra Veela charm for good measure she kept both of her children in her guardianship.

Zyva's early childhood in the house of ill repute was as decent and innocent as a child could have for their circumstance. Niamh was a traditionalist in raising children due to her own upbringing at the hands of her own ancient traditional Veela folk and her living through of the 1950s and 60s that she had become quite enamored with, and while Arkyn was allowed to go out and play, romp about, and become a bloody menace with the other children outside as a boy would tend to to, Zyva herself was kept indoors and firmly under Niamh's protective eyes. When gentlemen came about for Niamh's services, Zyva was put away either into another unused or barred-off room where she would neither be found or disturbed or entrusted to the care of her brother, the few instances in which she was permitted to go outside without her mother. Such instances in which she was left to play quietly by herself in another room made her quiet and meek, and the times in which she found herself bright and talkative came only when she was in the safety of her brother's arms. Often, though, Arkyn would end up helping to sneak Zyva out of the house so that they could run wild and free through the woods under the moonlight, climb trees until she got stuck and he had to help her down, and go river-stomping in the various creeks and bubbling rapids throughout the forests.

Veela magic quickly became part of the household as Zyva and Arkyn came into their mother's heritage at an exceptionally young age, and Niamh very quickly and naturally began to refer to her children as "Veela" and "Vodyanoy" respectively. Their young eyes now deeper than any other mortals would soon come to enthrall all those who were beneath them in their ancient prowess. The tongue of the ancient Veela threaded through the house, and music filled the air about the building.

That did not mean, however, that Niamh was totally without compassion for her daughter. In fact, she loved her just as much as she did Arkyn. She took both children out frequently to adventures in the wild and taught them the ways of the land and the cyclical nature of nature itself. Sometimes they would go hunting, and sometimes they would go to watch the animals live and lose their lives to the hands of their kin. On occasions when they found a wounded animal in which mercy was the only option, Niamh herself would teach her children the right way to perform such a mercy: the natural way in which they were set in this world to be its stewards and its guardians, and the proper way to ensure that the creature would return properly to its new role to fertilize and enrich the earth that it had come from.

Zyva would watch this all with wide and curious eyes, and she became well-versed in the way of the animal and of the natural world. On these ventures, she would take bones and fur and feather and horn and talon and claw and all other sorts of trinkets from the animals that she saw and that they had encountered. Those little trinkets would become jewelry and hairpieces when she had the free time to craft and create them: which, due to her cloistered nature and the refusal of her mother to allow either child to attend a public school among human children that she as a Veela did not totally understand or trust to ensure her kin to, was quite frequently. In lieu of public education, Niamh taught her children everything that she knew instead. While this meant that socialization of the children was more likely to suffer--particularly in the case of Zyva who was not truly permitted to go out and play with other children other than her twin brother--and that they did not have any 'formal' education at the same level as many other children of their age, they were exceptionally knowledgeable in the way of survivalism and the ways of the natural world. They knew how to hunt, to forage, and how to weather the elements, its creatures, and the wilds in equal measures. The children, while not intellects of any notable collegiate (or even primary school) level, became hardy survivors and were capable of self-sufficiency from a very young age.

Thus after this childhood came the day of 19 July 2025, after Zyva met a strange man named Piérre Marchonné. She didn't think much of the encounter, but little did she know that the man was in reality not only a wizard who had been travelling for the purposes of entertaining and entertainment, but that he was also her own dear half-brother by means of her scoundrel father, Gitano Luca Vero. It was Piérre who would eventually present himself before her mother after the twins had recieved letters to Hogwarts on their eleventh birthdays and explain that he believed that her children carried in their veins the magic of wizard-kind and it was he who would be the second mortal to survive a near lethal altercation with Niamh--it would seem that in him she saw the same aptitude for cruelty as she had seen in his father, but also saw in him the vicious war that waged in him for the means by which to contain it.. Reluctantly, she would come to trust Piérre, and reluctantly she would permit her children to be taught.

The Shetland Islands, the land of Trygghavn, would become the new home to the Skògrwights once more. They attended the Hogwarts Summer Camp in an attempt to assist Zyva in particular become socialized with children of her age and of wizardkind, and before everyone knew it...

The day of the Sorting, the first day of the Hogwarts schooling year, had arrived.

Zyva’s true first instance of magic was when she was but 4 years old and visiting extended family for the first time in the vicinity of Scotland's Shetland Islands. While she was there surrounded by the magical things and creatures that she had never seen before in her life to include the magical nature of her Veela and Vodyanoy family as well, she had come across the intact skeleton of a great stag--a creature no doubt introduced to island forest centuries ago by her ancestors--whose bones were clean and pure white in the moonlight. The decomposers and the maggots were only just beginning to return to the leaf litter from whence they had come, and they had left the beautiful craft of their decomposition pristine and untouched.

Stooping down alongside the great creature laid low, the tiny Norwegian girl marveled at the beauty of its final rest, the perfect curve of calcifications that under the right conditions could become totally immortal in the form of fossilization. But how beautiful it was now currently, fresh and pure. Giggling to her brother Arkyn, she began to touch all the bones, feeling each one delicate and thin beneath her hands. Where her hands touched, tiny swirls of new calcifications began to form like frost upon the cracks--like crystallofolia forming through a stem of a plant. The bones began to shiver and tremble, and all at once suddenly the great horned skull rose--the bony knees supported themselves on the ground before shakily getting to exposed hooves like a newborn faun. A great skeletal stag now stood at its full height before the girl, shaking its naked head as it would have in life before beginning to trot around the immediate vicinity with the clacking of bone on bone and the shivering whispers of air whistling through skeletal frame. Grass and dirt and leaf litter fell away from it as its pace increased into a full canter, while Zyva clapped and chased after it.

But when their mother's voice echoed through the woods, the creature suddenly stopped when Zyva stopped and looked. As quickly as it had risen to its feet the bones suddenly unknitted and fell to the ground again, totally inanimate once more. However, the magic had been done--the Book and Quill of Registration at that very moment inscribed the name "Zyva Skògrwight" upon its pages for invitation when the girl would one day have her eleventh birthday.

Kai grew up in Newcastle with his parents as an only child. His father was a wizard while his mother was a muggle. This resulted in Kai being raised learning about both worlds. His mom insisting on a normal childhood where he attended a local primary school and did quite well as one of the overall top students, unless it was in art, Kai didn't want to talk about that subject. His dad occasionally did talk about magic and tell stories or demonstrations, but it was not a huge part of his early life until it was confirmed that Kai did have magic.

Kai's days were pretty normal playing sports with friends or after school. Doing well in class although not speaking up much unless called upon. Parents making sure he was always taking extra lessons for his benefit. But for Kai sometimes it felt like he was just going through the motions and got extremely bored at times, often zoning out into his own head and enjoying daydreaming.

Being an only child along with 2 parents who often worked late also meant that after school Kai would often need to find ways to entertain himself once all his homework and parents extra homework was done. This usually involved making up fictional scenarios he fantasized about, playing sports, games, or wondering about his fathers magic.

Despite that Kai was still always curious about just random things in the world, why things were like how they were, why certain things were done as they were done in society. So when he first got his hogwarts letter it was a rare time where Kai was extremely excited about what would come next.

Kai's first instance of magic happened when he was eight. Kai always enjoyed snow although rain was his favorite. After a heavy day of snow Kai decided to take a shortcut while walking home and jumped over a snowy hill slipping and both spraining his ankle and causing his palms to bleed after his fall landing on them. It hurt a lot and he was still quite far from home alone and panicking, after a while however the pain went away the wounds and sprain healing.

It was November 12th, and night was falling early. The full moon shone high in the sky, illuminating the landscape so brightly that one could walk without a lantern or any other light. After dinner, Mom—with whom I am very close—suggested we go for a short walk in the moonlight. I enthusiastically agreed; there is nothing like a good walk to help with digestion and stretch my legs before going to sleep. As the evenings were getting cooler, I put on a thick coat and my boots over my pink heart-patterned pajamas and went outside with Mom. We had barely left the garden when Mom started talking about something that scared me a little... How I felt about going to Hogwarts without my four older brothers. To be honest, I was very stressed. I was really dreading being at school without them; I was afraid that the bullying, already very present when they were with me, would be even worse without them.
I can't stand up for myself, I let them walk all over me, I believe everything they say, and I suffer in silence. Sometimes my older brothers are there to protect me, but they won't be at Hogwarts. I explained all this to Mom, and thanks to the moonlight, I saw her smile and stop in front of me. She took squeezed my hands tightly and told me she had been through the same thing. Her older brother meant the world to her; he was always there for her, protecting her no matter what, so she was devastated when she had to leave for Mahoutokoro. Yet, she managed to pick herself up; she grew stronger as she learned magic. Everything my mom had just told me warmed my heart. I was hugging her when a strange cracking sound made us jump. My mom wanted to draw her wand, but we were too close to the houses and the moonlight was too bright—wizards aren't supposed to reveal themselves to Muggles.
Instead, she took out her phone; even though she’s a witch, she knows how to use Muggle technology. She turned on the flashlight and shone it around; the phone’s light, being brighter than the moon’s, managed to illuminate the dark bushes... Nothing. A new sound rang out, but this time from behind us. We spun around sharply and came face-to-face with a large, ferocious-looking wolf. Mom dropped her phone and drew her wand; she told me to step back, saying it wasn't just an ordinary wolf, but a werewolf. It attacked with impressive speed and strength. Mom didn't even have time to cast a spell before it pinned her to the ground and bit her arm. She let out a terrible scream of pain. Blood spurted out. Not wanting to watch my mom die right before my eyes, I summoned all my courage and threw myself at the beast, shoving it with my full weight. I managed to make it let go.

Before I could even get back on my feet, Mom screamed at me to run, and I understood why. I took off at full speed, with the werewolf hot on my heels. Just as I had feared, it caught up with me far too quickly and Mom hadn't had time to retrieve her wand. The werewolf grabbed my leg and knocked me to the ground. A first bite on my thigh, a second on my right arm. A deep gash across my back, despite my thick coat. A brilliant flash of red light in the sky. The weight of the werewolf vanished. The last thing I heard was Mom screaming—calling out my name...
I opened my eyes in a hospital—one I suspected was a wizarding hospital. Mom was leaning over me; her face was marred by a deep gash, and she looked terribly worried. Once I was fully awake, she explained the rest of what had happened. She had fought the werewolf but had been wounded several times, and so had I... My back, arm, and thigh—but also my face. The werewolf had wounded me again after Mom had fallen to the ground. The healers came to see me and noted that I had healed well, thanks to their spells and care. We were free to go home. On the way back, Mom explained that from now on, we would transform into werewolves every full moon. I learned shortly afterwards that the red light I had spotted was a distress signal used by wizards when they are under attack. Dad told me that, to provide an excuse, he had claimed he saw two little runts playing around with flashlights and fireworks. That way, Mom and I didn't have to reveal that we are witches.

Hello, my name is Ōkami Faoláin. I was born on October 21, 2014, around 10:30 p.m., on a dark, rainy night in Ireland.
I am a small girl—about 1.38 meters tall—and I am slender, with a delicate build. My face is dotted with freckles. I have almond-shaped blue eyes; I inherited the color from my father, while the shape comes from my mother. I have a slender nose and thin but well-defined lips. My hair is black and very long, just like my mother’s. It is so long and silky that, when I was little, I loved brushing it while singing songs in Japanese.
I love reading—especially fantasy novels—and writing poems, and perhaps even a book one day. I also love music; I play the biwa and the Celtic harp, two traditional instruments from my parents' home countries. I love nature—I adore playing in the forest surrounding our house. I love the night, the stars, and the moon; I find them all magnificent. I love the wind, the rain, and thunderstorms. There are tsunamis in Japan, and I have always been fascinated by the power of the wind. I also love Japan and Ireland, as well as their traditions. At home, we observe all kinds of traditions—both Irish and Japanese! I also love manga and anime, drawing, and my family.
On the other hand, I don't like summer, bullying, intense heat, or getting bad grades.
I am kind, gentle, patient, helpful, and hardworking, but also reserved. I only confide in my family, and I don't like speaking in public or to strangers.
I am of mixed heritage. My father is an Irish Muggle and my mother is a Japanese witch. They met in Japan when my father was giving a lecture at a Muggle university. My mother had come to pick up her younger sister and met my father. They married and had five children: my four older brothers, born in Japan, and me—the youngest—born in Ireland! I was born in Ireland because my parents and four older brothers were visiting my father's sister there, and it was during one of those visits that my mother gave birth! I went to school in Japan, which allowed me to become fluent in both Japanese and English. Less than a month after my ninth birthday, we moved to Ireland, to the small village of Glencolumbkill. My older brothers, who previously attended Tama High School and Hikawa Junior High School, now attend St. Columba's Comprehensive School; all four of them take the bus there and back every day.
My greatest flaw is that I easily let people walk all over me. At school, other children used to insult and hit me because I didn't like the same things they did, didn't dress like them, and was very different.

My first miracle happened in Ireland, shortly after I turned ten; my mother was playing the biwa and I was playing the Celtic harp. It was warm outside, so we had left the window open. Unfortunately, the wind kept rushing into the room and knocking over my sheet music. At one point, I was truly exasperated; I stood up and, screaming with rage, hurled my sheet music across the room. But to my great surprise, instead of landing limply on the floor, the pages took flight, settled back onto my music stand, and didn't move again.

When exposed to light, especially sunlight, their hair is like the sun rising in the morning. At night, they look like angels reflecting the moonlight. The gorgeous light from the golden hour decorates their fair skin, making them look more ethereal. Their body movements are graceful, and their voice is as melodious as birdsong yet soothing like a very deep lake at the same time. Some people who see them at night might think that the gray color, like the fog in the forest, is the color of their eyes. But under the sunlight, their eyes are a bright blue, as clear as the sky. And here's the most beautiful part; if the light hits at a certain angle, people will notice a greenish glow in their eyes.

The part veela lineage in the Dumont family started with Ciel's paternal grandmother; Willow, a Veela so ethereal that fell in love with an exceptionally handsome and interesting Galliard Dumont, wizard from the Dumont family. The Dumont family itself is an ancient pure-blood family in France most of whose descendants become Aurors for France’s Ministry of Magic. Long story short, Willow left her home to live with her love in Lille, France. They had six children, five girls and one boy. Ciel’s father, Vincent is that male half-Veela. With his pure blond hair and fair skin, Vincent used to be the center of attention and gossip, especially because his face and appearance looks beautiful for a guy. His father forbid them to use their charm to allure innocent people. But still, Vincent’s older sisters often uses their beauty and elegance to toy with guys' feelings. Eventually they moved to England to live in a more comfortable new environment after his oldest sister had a scandal because she captivates the heart of a man who is already engaged. One thing Vincent knew about his mother's beauty that she passed on to her children was that beauty was dangerous. It attracted desire and made people treat them like fragile rose petals that could fall apart at any moment.

However, Ciel is a little different from his aunts and father. His hair looks more like light brown-ish like his mother rather than blonde or white like his father. Aside from this fact, they know that Ciel is a one quarter Veela. Because his aunt didn't tell much about himself, Ciel assumes that he is just handsome like that. After he got his FIOM, he finally became closer to Vincent. Vincent eventually mustered the courage to take him to his new home in Paris, France to mend their long-broken father-son relationship. Vincent’s second wife is a graceful and authoritative woman, while the children from his second marriage, or Ciel’s half-sisters, are beautiful part-Veela girls with golden blonde hair and sky-blue eyes, just like their father.

After that, Vincent finally told Ciel everything, from the wizarding world and veela, their family lineage, to things Hogwarts. Ciel is still trying to process everything that happened so fast, but he's doing his best to learn about the wizarding world and start to forgive his dad who left him, as well as his aunt who hid all this from him. He’s also learning to accept his new mom and little sisters.

Ciel Perlette Dumond was born in London, England on February 13, 2015. Unfortunately, his mother died because of a dark wizard who attacked their house a few days after Ciel was born. Vincent Dumont, Ciel's father, was seriously injured during the attack. Heartbroken from losing the love of his life, Vincent admitted he couldn’t take care of Ciel and planned to return to his hometown in France for recovery. Ciel's maternal aunt, Felicia Jenett, offered to take care of Ciel in the muggle world, specifically Whitby, England along with her muggle husband and children. Felicia couldn't bring herself to tell Ciel about his mother and the wizarding world. Not until Ciel got his first instance of accidental magic, she thought. Felicia came up with a scenario where Laurette dies while giving birth to Ciel if her husband, kids, and Ciel ask about Laurette's death; meanwhile, Vincent can't handle raising Ciel because of his depression (which is mostly true). His uncle always feels sorry for Ciel and takes care of him like his own child, his cousins also treat him like a sibling. Ciel himself had already urged Felicia several times to tell the truth, even though Felicia's answer was always the same. "Your mother passed away due to complications when giving birth to you, Ciel.” Ciel's life at school could be said to be kind of average. He has a few friends and is good at almost all subjects, but he often gets teased because of his height.

When Ciel was around 7 years old, he was often bullied by his classmates because of his short stature. One day after school, a group of his bullies approached him and started teasing him. Ciel got really angry. Suddenly the hat worn by one of the bullies caught fire and they started running around frantically to avoid the fire.

although seraphina was born in the united states, she holds british nationality through her father, who was born and raised in england. while her father has no magical lineage, he is not a muggle and has always been unwaveringly supportive of his daughters' magical education and academic ambitions. his encouragement fostered an environment where both girls feel free to pursue their interests with confidence.

in contrast, her mother celestine comes from a long lineage of witches and wizards from lukang, taiwan. as a former hufflepuff herself, celestine became deeply interested in the politics of the wizarding world, eager to establish more collaborative and equitable community. when Seraphina was seven years old, the ashford family relocated to london after celestine accepted a position within the the ministry of magic, eventually becoming the head of the department of international magical co-operation. the move marked the beginning of a new chapter for seraphina, allowing her and evangeline to grow up immersed in magical communities hidden around britain.

after moving to the uk, seraphina was unfortunately bullied throughout her first few years in primary school. they mocked the way she spoke (she has an american accent), excluded her from games, hid her belongings, and delighted in embarrassing her whenever they had the chance. that all changed when on seraphina's 8th birthday, she unintentionally made a pig snout appear on her bully's faces when being cornered by a group of girls at school. she was initially mortified by this, unaware that it was in fact her that made it happen.

when she returned home from school that day, she told her mother about the incident, expecting disbelief. however, her mother's concerned expression held an air of pride and excitement. following seraphina's retelling, she not only berated the girl's parents through mail but also informed seraphina all about the wizarding world. the next day at work, seraphina's mother immediately notified obliviator's headquarters to take care of muggle children that witnessed the incident.

Desmonia Agustino Chatura, a presumed muggle - born on the August 20, 12 pm mid noon - would experience a memory he could never remember of crying in his mothers arms, the cold from her clothed arms and the joyful tear heavily outweighed an infant's fear, and her own.

No one truly left unscathed from that day. His muggle mother passed away from the strenuous labor of childbirth, Demo lived despite the limb deformities effecting his leg greatly, meanwhile his muggle father had lost part of himself returning to their home much too large for a single father and his son, deciding Indonesia had too much memories of his late wife - moved to the UK instead when Demo turned 4.

Demo once watched the Hunchback of Notre dam animated movie, and saw part of his child-like self in Quasimodo. Though his conditions were a lot better, given he was provided medical care, a large spacious home, staff of plenty accompanying him daily, he was a boy in a cage. Often sick, and with his reliance of wheelchairs and crutches, his father deemed he would be better suited to study from private tutors. Combating the isolation, was his desire to compensate. If his leg was useless, he would give what he got with his hands. Safe tinkering, small building toys, adult supervised woodworking, pottery, drawing - anything that he felt he could do with his hands - he'd do it.

He thought his life goal - as hazy as it was - was set already with a determined, almost vengeful motivation against those who determined his capabilities the second they saw him. I'll show em.

Magic, turned out - was his hero. After his first instance of magic, the medical world expanded in ways his family couldn't have ever thought off. Suddenly, his limb deformities weren't an issue. He could stand, walk, even run without assistance. One would think sky is now the limit now that this physical burden was released from the boy. Unfortunately, magic came too late.

His upbringing left a large unexplainable gap in his chest, like a beast that needed to be feed. Achievement, recognition, success. There were no more excuses not to give it. Hunger exceeded gratitude. Not that he couldn't tell what it was. He feels how starved he is, and yet could never name what. How Hogwarts would change anything, was up to fate. He was only 11 after all. There was time to grow, for better or for worse.

This fateful day belonged to a 10 year old Demo, at the Chatura estate garden, coupled with a foul mood that was not missed judging from his expression. Unfortunately, it was fuel for his much older cousin, Adil. Already a late teen, set to inherit Demo's fathers company. While Demo sat on his wheelchair under a large old tree, Adil was stretching his legs. Playing this game called Hare Vs Tortoise. Rules were simple, Adil ran, Demo used a remote controlled car. Whomever crossed the finish line wins.

The problem? The controller was tweaked for unstable speed power. Giving the illusion of victory to Demo, while being a disrespectful jab at Demo's leg condition. Teenagers.

1 lost. 2. 6. 13. 8 wins in between, but he knew it meant nothing. Fuming on his wheelchair, he pushed the joystick as his cousins running figure became smaller and smaller.

He heard a crack, thinking it was the joysticks time to be a victim to Demo's anger. But no, it was the thick old branch over his head. An image Demo only registered from the blurred brown vision from the corner of his eye before his shut them closed. Symptoms akin to 'fear' enveloped him like never before, lost goals and unfulfilled dreams invaded his mind faster than he could think and identify.

In attempt of self preservation, the branch shrunk, like wrinkled chopstick from being an adult arms length to a twig and landed on Demo's lap. Demo opened his eyes, bewildered. Just as he figured he hallucinated, the twig returned to it's original size the second he looked back at his cousin, who came back running, panicked thinking a branch fell on Demo.

Strike's parents are both very ambitious and successful pureblood hit-wizard assassins who practice the dark arts. Strike's mother, Lindsay Allen, specializes in physical combat and spell-casting while his father, Douglas Allen, is a master manipulator. In their attempts to shape and mold Strike to become a hit-wizard assassin like themselves, they trained him to be sharp in both mind and body with the hope that he could essentially be made into the ultimate living weapon. His name was a reflection of this hope, but he is also a very sensitive boy with more thoughtfulness and consideration for others than either of his parents deem necessary.

When he was four years old, Strike met a boy a year older than him named Liron Aceso whose parents worked with his own. Strike came to admire and view Liron as an older brother figure. Liron taught Strike both directly and indirectly through various ways and situations that he didn’t have to be what his parents wanted him to be. He taught him that such a thing as ‘unconditional love’ existed. Strike, who would have been the sort to cling to his mother if she tolerated such a thing, ended up clinging to Liron instead in his shyness and has more or less done so ever since.

Strike and Liron's families were so close due to work that they would take annual holiday trips from Greece, where both families lived, to London, England. Liron stayed with his cousins while he was there so Strike would often visit him at his cousins' home while they resided in London.

When Strike was six and Liron was seven and on holiday, Strike and Liron were perched on a rooftop of a building their parents were having a meeting within. Strike fell from the roof and Liron grabbed him to protect him, instinctively and accidentally slowing their fall on the way down as a first instance of magic. It was then determined that Liron would be attending Hogwarts due to his first instance of magic having happened in London.

At the age of nine, Liron was 10 and sent to stay with his cousin in London; this time without Strike's family coming along. Supposedly, it was so that Liron could prepare for his schooling at Hogwarts. However, in actuality, Strike's and Liron's had begun to quarrel and, with Strike's parents being the dangerous wixes they were, Liron's parents wanted to send him away to keep him safe from them. This caused Strike, who was largely ignorant of the real situation behind the parents' actions and feelings, to sorely miss Liron. Meanwhile, his pureblood parents started to worry that Strike was a squib since Liron had shown his first instance of magic at the age of seven and Strike had yet to show any sort of magic at all.

When he was 10 years old the next year, however, Strike and his parents finally went on holiday to London as they usually did annually. Strike was so excited to see Liron that as soon as they had reached familiar territory in London, he ran off to get to Liron's cousin's house to try to see Liron. His emotions were running so high that he somehow ended up getting to his destination faster than he should have been able to on foot even running. At the time, he had simply dismissed it as his being faster due to his strong desire to see his childhood friend who was practically his brother. As he received his invitation to Hogwarts the following April on his 11th birthday, however, he realized what must have happened and had to explain to his bewildered parents what had happened.

When Strike was 10 years old and Liron was 11, Strike had heard that Liron had been sent away from Greece to London to attend Hogwarts' School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Strike also wanted to attend the same school that Liron was, but he had yet to show any signs of magic. In fact, his parents had started to fear that despite them being purebloods, their son might have been a squib. When Strike's parents took him with them to London for their regular family trip, Strike wanted so badly to see Liron that he ran to Lirons' cousin's house before his parents could say anything. The thing was that he got there faster than should have been possible. Shortly after that incident, Strike received his invitation to Hogwarts and had to explain what had happened to his parents.

Character Special Race/Talent: Parselmouth

Reducio
The Parselmouth trait comes from Rain’s father’s side of the family. His family line originates from Africa, specifically from the magical Igbo community. The eke (python) is a sacred animal in the community and is considered to have a special connection to the gods. With this part of Rain’s ancestry started with the worship of the eke and it was believed because of the worship by one of his far ancestors (Isioma) the gods blessed Isioma with the ability to speak with the snakes that her family so loved.

Eventually Isioma married and had children whom followed in the footsteps of their family but especially their mother. There were 2 girls and one boy. As they grew it was discovered that both daughters were Parselmouths while the lone son did not have the ability. When it was time for Isioma’s daughters to have children they each had 2 sons and 2 daughters. Isioma’s son however had 3 girls and 1 son. Like their mother the girls from Isioma’s family were Parselmouth’s while the boys did not have the ability. To the shock of everyone, though, the girls from Isioma’s son also had the ability. Through this it was seen that the Parselmouth ability from Isioma’s line only came to the female children. It was possible for the male children to pass the gene down but it would only manifest with the female children.

Generations passed leading to the beginning of the Lucien line in America. A daughter related to Isioma’s line (Okwudili) decided she wanted to see more from the world than just her village as the daughters weren’t encouraged to leave because they were thought to bring more luck due to their ability to speak to snakes. She felt constricted and because of this she decided to try her luck in America. Though, communication was scarce between magical communities at the time many of the magical Black communities were still connected because many shared ancestors and kept tabs on family lines, especially the Purebloods.

Once she made her way to America Okwudili enmeshed herself with the magical community she found in the Southern state she settled on. It was there that she found many had never met a Parselmouth and that it was considered that there were none there. Because of this she decided that she wouldn’t disclose her abilities to anyone she didn’t think she could trust. That plus the fact that she didn’t want her abilities to be another reason for her to be treated the way she was back home. Eventually she fell in love with a Pureblood from the community she settled in. They would have 2 daughters. Because of this a new tradition was started that one of the daughters would keep the family name of Lucien going. The two sisters were to duel to figure it out but the older sister didn’t want the responsibility so it passed to the younger daughter. The younger daughter is who Rain is directly related to as she was his great-great grandmother.

To this day no one outside of the family knows about the Parselmouth ability of the Lucien family. When someone marries in they have to swear to not talk about the ability to anyone outside of the family unless they are also Parselmouths. This came especially true when reports about the happenings of the British Wizarding world was making it even harder to admit to being a Parselmouth.

Rain is the first Parselmouth born from his great-great grandmother’s line as each subsequent child born had been a male child. Rain realized from a young age that he did not resonate with being a girl, while there was comfort in some of the feminine qualities he started his life with it wasn’t a comfort that came from being a girl. Because of this his discovery of his Parselmouth abilities was clouded with a discontent because he knew that the ability was passed down to daughters and this conflicted with who he knew himself to be.

Rain knew he would be a Parselmouth because of the stories from his father and from family that was descended from his great-great grandmother’s sister. His ability was confirmed for him because of the tradition in the family that once a child is able to speak comprehensibly to those around them they go to the family snake. As Rain and his family had already moved to Scotland at this point they had to journey back to America and upon making the journey and going through the ceremony he was able to successfully communicate with the snake.

Rain is proud to be able to carry on with the family tradition. It’s a huge honor to be the first Parselmouth since his great-great grandmother but it’s also a source of pain when it comes to his identity. It’s also hard having to keep that part of himself from any friends he makes. Especially living in Great Britain because of the stigma. But it still brings him happiness when he finds snakes in the gardens and he’s even able to help his parents when they study magical serpents. It also makes it easier to help with his sister who will soon take part in her own ceremony.

Character History:
Reducio
His parents are magizoologists, which is how they met. His mother is a Scottish pureblood (Maribelle Lucien née Fawley) while his father is an American pureblood from the South (Typhus Lucien). They met at a magizoology conference and hit it off from there. Rain is their first child born in America. They returned to his mother’s family home on the Isle of Skye, near Portree, when he was 3 as there were magical creatures there that his father wanted to study as they were different from the magical creatures in America. He has 2 siblings, a sister (Storme, 5) and a brother (Oceanus, 2). Because his parents worked from home and sometimes were out in the field studying magical creatures his parents decided to have tutors come to teach him instead of having go to school with other magical children his age. This did have the effect of him being socially stunted and not having friends outside of his family. His mother is an only child so he had no cousins in Scotland to hang out with and the cousins on his father’s side were too far to make meaningful connections with as they didn’t visit them very often. His family has 2 pet Kneazles. Rain’s home life was quite good. His parents love him and his siblings very much and tried their best to be there for them. They often took Rain and his siblings on their expeditions when not dealing with dangerous creatures.

He’s incredibly introverted and prefers to be by himself, though if you get close to him he is incredibly loyal. He has ADHD so he can be quite forgetful and distracted but he has a system in place so that he doesn’t forget the important stuff. School work tends to come easily to him and he doesn’t want to let his parents down but he doesn’t actually particularly like school work. He likes to read for pleasure but finds school books and more informational texts to be quite boring. He’s also not great at reading people and is socially awkward. It takes a lot to get him out of his shell.

First instance of magic:

His first instance of accidental magic happened a bit after his little sister was born when he was 5. He was used to being the only child around and didn’t like his parents’ attention being divided between him and his little sister. At one point he just wanted his sister to disappear and accidentally made her turn invisible for a few minutes while she was laying near their parents, causing a bit of pandemonium until she turned visible again and his parents saw how disappointed he was when Storme could be seen again and they realized he had accidentally made her turn invisible because of how upset he was with her being there.

Character Special Race/Talent: Dhampir
Reducio
Vittoria della Torre (Idalia's mother) was born a pureblood witch and led a relatively normal human life for 25 years. In 2012, that changed. Vittoria was in Paris for a fashion show, and her Auror sister Emilia was visiting for an investigation. They went out to dinner, but on Vittoria's walk back to her hotel, she was abducted. That night resulted in her half-deadly transition into a dhampir. A failed vampire Turning.

In the years following, Emilia would discover details of this that would strain the sisters' relationship for a time. The attack was a case of mistaken identity; it was Emilia who was meant to be the target. The young Auror had been investigating a group of vampires operating between France and Italy's borders - maybe even stemming from Italian roots. She was the one who was supposed to be silenced by Turning, but the two women looking so much alike had led to Vittoria's traumatic ordeal. During the Turning, the abductors realized that Vittoria was not the target, so they chose to fail the Turning. It was decided that making her a dhampir instead would prove more useful to them. Why? And who made that call? These are questions that Emilia still hasn't found answers to because the case ran cold. She had to be ordered by the higher-ups to drop it as she was becoming obsessed to the detriment of her other cases, and to this day the attackers are at large.

Vittoria's life was forever changed by her new identity as a dhampir, not to mention the trauma of the process itself. She chose pretty quickly to hide the obvious signs - being a dhampir, a half-breed, had never been part of her life plan. She had strong and upsetting feelings about it, so with her family's support, she kept her status as private as possible. But the trauma left scars, and in the first couple of years, she tried to drown out the noise. She focused on her career, but she partied a lot more. Of course people found out when she got sloppy, but it avoided the gossip sheets and it stayed a private matter thanks to the affluent nature of the della Torre family. They would bribe people in exchange for permission to be obliviated of their memories finding out her dhampir status. It was only a couple of years later that Vittoria really sobered up and stopped taking so many risks - because she had an unexpected pregnancy.

Idalia was the result of Vittoria sleeping with a pureblood Scottish wizard. She is a second-generation dhampir - half dhampir, half human. Vittoria took Idalia's arrival as a sign that she needed to get her shit together. Motherhood had always been part of the plan, just not so soon. But she had a village - or rather, a villa - with her family, so raising Idalia was a task taken on by them all. The young girl was loved and pampered, and soon enough, Vittoria had found Idalia a father figure in Benjamin Marsh.

As Idalia grew, she would learn to hide the signs of her dhampirism from the world. Embrace her mother's views - that it wasn't their fault they were this way, but other people wouldn't understand. She didn't need blood to live (even if it did sound appetizing), so eating wasn't a problem. She just had to learn to cover her mouth when she laughed, to not get too animated when telling an exciting story lest her fangs show, to smile without teeth. That one time she was found out by a boy at her pureblood education school? It was like her whole family rallied behind her, swiftly contacting the boy's family to draw up a contract and obliviate memories. It seemed that having money could fix the mistakes, but of course her mother instilled in her what a hassle that was. Best to make sure people don't find out in the first place.

Character Backstory:
Reducio
Vittoria and Idalia della Torre Idalia was born to a very famous Italian fashion model named Vittoria della Torre. Her birth was completely unexpected - Vittoria experienced a cryptic pregnancy, meaning she barely experienced any symptoms of pregnancy, so she never suspected it until she went into a very long and difficult labor.

Idalia Celeste was the first-born grandchild in the della Torre pureblood line, so she never wanted for anything. And even though she grew up without a father (Vittoria had no interest in contacting the couple of men it could be), Idalia had plenty of family to look up to - including an uncle and a grandfather. Her first few years of life were spent in the Della Torre Villa in Ravello, Italy - a beautiful village of the Amalfi Coast. Her childhood was pretty picturesque in this manner, growing up with her mother and grandparents in this town. Her mother took less modelling gigs during this time to focus on raising her, but of course she grew up with a nanny as well.

It wasn't very long that Idalia grew up without a father. Her mother started dating a pureblood Englishman - Benjamin Marsh - by the time Idalia could form simple sentences. He was a widow with a daughter of his own, so he and Vittoria connected on being single parents. A couple years later, when Idalia was five, her mother married Benjamin. Thus Idalia and Vittoria moved from their home in Italy to Marsh Manor in Whitby, England.

This was a big change for Idalia, but she was young and adaptable. She missed her family in Italy, but there were visits every couple of months. Magic transportation was quite convenient in that manner. Idalia gained a stepsister with this move - Noelle - who was only a few months older. The manor also housed new cousins - the twins Royce and Richard, a few years older. They all (including Idalia now) attended a small education program for pre-Hogwarts education, or had a tutor come to the manor for more individualized lessons. The dynamics between the children at the Marsh Estate were complicated for the first few years, but once the twins went off to Hogwarts, Idalia grew a bit closer to Noelle. Enough for them to consider each other sisters at last.

Idalia's relationship with Benjamin was always a positive one, and she viewed him completely as her father. He was a kind man, although a busy one; he hosted an extremely popular radio show in the wizarding world. Although his show was notably light-hearted, he also had a lot of opportunities where he would interview celebrities, politicians, philanthropists, and more. He was a very popular man (and at times controversial). Her mother went back to work during these years too, alternating between modelling and her newfound passion - art.

Despite being very spoiled throughout her childhood, Idalia still grew up a bit different. She was born a dhampir, and no one in her family had experience with that. Although Vittoria herself was a dhampir, she had been turned well into adulthood (just a couple years before Idalia was born, actually), so she didn't know what it was like in childhood. She didn't know how painful Idalia's first set of fangs actually were, and she didn't know how much Idalia was concerned about being different from her peers. Idalia picked up on the fact that her mother hid her dhampirism pretty early on, but they only ever talked about it once or twice. She knew the essentials - don't tell people. Hide your fangs. Don't let them look into your eyes. Yes, your family knows what you are and they still love you, but you can't tell other people. Their family did exactly that - pretending they were humans by never talking about it. And on the very rare instance that it was leaked, bribes were made and people's memories were (magically) erased.

So Idalia ignored the painful tingle of sunny days at the beach, and she kept her fangs retracted as much as possible. She didn't talk about her occasional cravings for blood, knowing it would make others around her uncomfortable. She especially did these things when in public around normal magical families. She minimized her dhampir identity as much as possible and embraced the human side of her, since that's what her mother did and what her family wanted.

In 2022, Idalia and Noelle gained a little brother - Enzo Marsh. It was an adjustment for Idalia to no longer be the youngest - she was no longer the baby of the family - but it didn't take long for her to like the idea of a little brother. Enzo was like her - a born dhampir - and she made a vow to protect and guide him. Teach him the best strategy for sunny days, help him with cravings, and make sure he didn't leak the secret. Of course, he's still young for all of that, but one day.

First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
sandcastleFirst instance of magic: The young dhampir experienced her first magic when she was seven, two years after relocating to England. Idalia had been at the Whitby beach building a sandcastle and lost track of the time and the tide. Just as she was finishing her masterpiece, the tide had reached her castle. Panic consumed her every thought, terrified at the thought of her castle being washed away. But in the blink of an eye, the castle seemingly disappeared. Idalia's eyes widened and she looked left and right until she realized it had reappeared further up the beach - safe from the tide. The instance of magic was extremely exciting once she realized what had happened, and she got to celebrate it with her family during dinner.
