Ciel Perlette Dumond was born in London, England on February 13, 2015. Unfortunately, his mother died because of a dark wizard who attacked their house a few days after Ciel was born. Vincent Dumont, Ciel's father, was seriously injured during the attack. Heartbroken from losing the love of his life, Vincent admitted he couldn’t take care of Ciel and planned to return to his hometown in France for recovery. Ciel's maternal aunt, Felicia Jenett, offered to take care of Ciel in the muggle world, specifically Whitby, England along with her muggle husband and children. Felicia couldn't bring herself to tell Ciel about his mother and the wizarding world. Not until Ciel got his first instance of accidental magic, she thought. Felicia came up with

a scenario where Laurette dies while giving birth to Ciel if her husband, kids, and Ciel ask about Laurette's death; meanwhile, Vincent can't handle raising Ciel because of his depression (which is mostly true). His uncle always feels sorry for Ciel and takes care of him like his own child, his cousins also treat him like a sibling. Ciel himself had already urged Felicia several times to tell the truth, even though Felicia's answer was always the same. "Your mother passed away due to complications when giving birth to you, Ciel.” Ciel's life at school could be said to be kind of average. He has a few friends and is good at almost all subjects, but he often gets teased because of his height.
