At Mamori's very reasonable observation, Aodhan merely flapped his hand. "Details, details," he said. Because obviously, if he didn't acknowledge those facts, then they were never real to begin with. Willful ignorance was the best defense in any argument. "Besides, who said I had to be there? What if I heard through 'word of mouth'? You never know."

What ignorance didn't defend him against, sadly, was the sudden piling of owed knuts. Caught off guard, he stared cross-eyed at the wrapper dangling in front of him. This... was new. And smart, he had to admit. Kind of funny, too. Probably something he could've employed in grade school instead of just dealing Pokemon cards. But he was still the Aodhan Shaw, and he wasn't about to owe anyone money, negligible amount or otherwise.

"Whoa! You're really pushy. Did you know I have anxiety? Like, crippling anxiety, or whatever." As he spoke, the boy threw in a dramatic sniffle, eyeing his teammate like he was stabbed in the back. Then he snatched the wrapper out of Mamori's hands and plucked yet another biscuit from its cozy home. "You should pay me back for the emotional damage you're putting me through. I'm thinking three galleons? Five? Therapy is suuuper expensive and all that. But I'm also a really nice guy, so how about you let me snack with you—for free—and we call it even?"

After that, he unceremoniously pushed the second biscuit into his mouth and offered a handshake, smiling and munching away like it was the most normal thing in the world.

Even if his truce wasn't taken, Aodhan would end up dropping his hand and focusing on the ensuing match. But not for long, for right in the middle of the chaos, one of his "acquaintances" decided to be... peculiar.

It happened while he chose to lean forward, holding up his head by his palm as he discussed strategy with someone else on the bench. One minute, there was nothing. The next? An incredibly slimy, small object colliding with the back of his hand. The boy yelped and recoiled, but when he learned that no, there was no bee or wasp or anything similar, he quickly examined the damage site. Lo and behold, it was a piece of freshly chewed gum. Gum?

"What the FUCK?" he shouted. Seriously, who the hell was throwing their gum around? Why? He couldn't even pretend to be cool about it, wiping it off onto the ground before twirling his head in the direction it came from. Aodhan's gaze then fell upon a very familiar face, one that should actually be on the nation's "Most Wanted" list for this transgression. Biscuit packaging still in hand, the boy didn't even question whether or not Fire was actually guilty—he tossed it directly at the other's head, using all the force he possibly could.

"You're SO getting pranked, you Mr. Krabs wannabe!" he asserted, looking annoyed for once in his life.

Being benched still meant participating in cheering on your team in any way you could, and for Blaize he took that quite literally. He had been given the run down of the positions and roles for each of them and decided that the Seeker was the most important. Granted he was told the informality of this game included the changing of positions all the time, he noted who was up to seek first, being Miharu and kept his gaze locked on them.

A few loud whoops, and cupping his hand to chant made some adrenaline rush through the boy's body. It was exciting for now, as he didn't have a chance to be battered by any obstacles like Broom Racing, but his eyes did shift to the bludgers which seemed to have a mind of their own. Perhaps it was the players getting used to their positions, he knew he would likely have a wild go of it if he was thrown in after a few rounds, but it was definitely tricky to say the least.

His eyes then zipped to the Chasers, one of their team members having excellent reflexes and scored 30 points for their team. Blaize beamed, excited by early and short lead. He indeed wondered how many people actually participated in Quidditch and knew the rules, making a mental note to perhaps go spectate some games the following year.

The sway of the halcyon breeze sent chills up her spine as strands of her hair came undone, her grip on the broom firm as she felt the air that surrounded her, the familiar euphoriatic feeling of flying that continued to provide her solace after most happenings of her life.

Her gaze fell on those around her as she observed the game play out. She flew to play as much part as she could, though not significant yet, for the match was still too peaceful without any of the injuries or flying orbs of bludgers that had been her fate from the previous games she'd played in a while,

The pain was one thing, but the adrenaline during every match? It was worth all the bludger attacks in the world.

It was then that she heard the familiar sound of the large iron balls moving through the air, all for his rotten luck, towards Dragonclaw, who'd somehow evaded the fate of the excruciating pain from its impact not once but twice, a narrow escape within the first minutes of the match.

'Okay, now it feels more like a game,' she thought as her gaze moved away from the boy, her guard back on as an array of actions occurred in the background, almost all meaningful, though the familiar presence of fouls was lacking, a major part of Quidditch that players swore by, or was it just the peace before a storm?

Landon felt the adrenaline instantly as the game began. He was excited, ready to play, and he grinned over at Zach when he saw Zach flying too. "Here we go!" he said, beaming from excitement. He was happy to play, but also very proud of the fact that Zach was flying and didn't seem to be scared like he used to be. Landon had worked with Zach to help him feel more comfortable on a broom.

Landon smiled as Zach followed him around, glad to be of help. He flew around the pitch, scrambling to get the Quaffle as he was in the position of Chaser this round. He grabbed the Quaffle a few times, passing it to Zach quickly as they evaded the other players. He grinned as Zach succeeded to score a goal with the first pass, but he shook his head, a small smile on his face, as Zach missed the next one. "It's okay, don't give up!" he said with a smile. It was easy to beat yourself up for mistakes, but not helpful. Things happened.

Landon got too excited after the last attempt and he reached for the Quaffle, stealing it from Zach without thinking. He quickly returned the Quaffle to Zach and laughed. "I'm sorry. Got too excited," he said, his cheeks flushing a little. He grinned, cheering excitedly, as Zach managed to make a goal again. He also made a third one later, though Landon missed an attempt to get the Quaffle in between those. "Of course, Zach!" he said as Zach thanked him. "We're a team," he said. He turned his attention back to the game at hand, preparing for the next round.

This was a lot of fun, and Landon liked being able to actually play in a game instead of always sitting on the bench.

A dramatic sigh escaped the brunette's lips. Being benched fucking sucked.

There wasn't much she could do but cheer on the unfamiliar faces (or were they familiar by now?) of her teammates—luckily, they were holding up quite well—and mentally cataloguing the things she'd do better if she were up there, soaring through the sky instead of someone else. Romélie was a goddamn Quidditch prodigy. She was going to be a household name one day. And here she was now—benched, her talent going to waste. She sighed a second time, this time louder.

"They should thank me. I'm giving them a chance to shine," she muttered to herself, puffing a stray curl out of her face as she readjusted her sunglasses. She could already picture it: the looks of awe, the roar of the crowd once she got her moment on the field.

Rome crunched down on the lollipop in her mouth, her eyes darting between the players as the Quaffle got passed between them. She had a good feeling about the match. Perhaps she'll end up being their secret weapon—their ace. Her lips spread into a grin at the thought of that. The sooner they needed her, the sooner she'd save the day.

The game started in a whirl of movement. Robin's lips pulled up as she witnessed the immediate exchange of beaters' bludgeoning bludgers. Zach Zaphiere, someone she recognized as one of her house's broom racers, was dominating the round with his flying and the unguarded net. Robin thought it was interesting that both teams chose to go for the offensive straight away, leaving their own hoops unguarded. She hadn't ever played a Quidditch match before, and choosing to be in one where the usual rules were thrown into the wind to ensue chaos was perfectly in alignment with her values as a person. It was a conscious effort to not throw herself on a broom and join her team on the field. To be completely honest, Robin did wonder how she would differentiate her teammates from the others... a problem she decided, then and there, she'd have to fix. With an unnaturally wide-eyed stare, Robin tilted her head sideways and blurred her vision just enough to see the outlines of the players in the sky. She stayed that way frozen for a moment

If I memorize their shapes and colors, then I'll be sure to know my teammates. She occasionally glanced at the rest of her teammates , not hiding the fact that she was studying their blurred shapes. Robin imagined what she looked like from an outward perspective - eyes wide, scleras blinding. Thick curls pulled back into a bright blue bandana, and her head and body angled at a 45-degree angle to stare in the general vicinity of her teammates. The thought brought a smile of joy to her lips, and she gave a soft chuckle aloud, then turned her attention from all of her teammates and just onto the blurred figure that she thought was @Hayato Ichiyagi - a Japanese student from Mahoutokoro. Robin supposed she should at least attempt to strategize for when it was their turn on the pitch.

"So... should we like strategize?" She asked, voice light and lilted as if she was half speaking to the wind, eyes not quite locking with anyone's. Her glazed watch shifted back to the field where she resumed memorizing the shapes and colors of her teammates. It was sort of fun. In the span of a moment, she'd completely forgotten that she'd even asked her question as she was once more enraptured in the game. Hayato could have responded, but Robin was already lost in her own head, fingers tapping out an unintelligible beat on her broomstick, sticky from sweat. Nothing could reach her through the momentary task that she deemed important enough to dedicate herself to.

Sitting on the bench quietly, Hayato stroked his Comet 180 softly. The feeling of wooden texture steadied him. He was somewhat nervous about the game as soon as it was nearing the start. The pace of the game was so quick that he needed to concentrate to understand what was happening. Every player could change their positions in the air per round. He hadn’t familiarized himself with the regular quidditch rules, yet here he was in a rule-altered new experimental form of quidditch. Quite interesting.

Hayato pursed his lips when watching the game unfold. His serious expression softened as he saw his headmaster, Sako. Surprised, but also he was glad that Headmaster Sako was here. A rare smile appeared on his face. Then he shifted his attention back to the field.

Their team seemed to have quite an advantage in the quaffle game. The Sapphire Storm - the cool team name they had - chaser, Landon, snatched the quaffle four times straight and passed it to their other teammate, Zach. They scored thirty points. Everything seemed perfect and promising.

As the game went on, Hayato noticed his benchmate Robin had asked him a question: should they strategize with each other? Hayato mused. He didn’t mean to delay his response, yet the sport and the altered rules were too new to him. He needed at least several seconds to process his thoughts on the gameplay. Also the young Ichiyagi was afraid that he would say anything too stupid, so he was cautious. After the pause, he turned in Robin’s direction and replied, “Sure…" His voice weakened and his expression confused. Robin had already tuned into the game again. Hayato furrowed his brow, starting to question his own sanity. Did he just hear the voice? Huh.

The cool air sent a slight shiver down the sunchild's spine, as she flew to her post as the game went on. They hadn't gotten off to a great start, but despite the minor setback of 20 points, Lyanna was as ready as ever to take home the win. After watching each player carefully, her next move became clear to her. The chaser could only hope it paid off.

Icarus had once flown earth's very skies, longing for the sun's starkissed touch, drowning in the abyss of ignorance and wishful thinking. He had forgotten the world around him, every echo warning him, whispering his name, his father's voice ringing through the calm skies in fear. And then, reality hit him.

The wax began to melt.

The feathers began to give way to his fate.

A final scream.

The end.

The sunchild had always held this tale very closely to her heart. She loved the sun, and had always interpreted it in a very literal sense as a child, never thinking of the deeper, truer lesson engraved at the heart of the myth itself.

But now, having gone through so much more than her ten-year-old self had, she knew. She felt it. The weight of the feathers needing to find a balance between too high and too low. Her father was afraid that she had, and would, go too far.

Jade Oak was the sun.

And Lyanna was determined to find it.

But would she manage to, without going too far?

Would she come close enough, before the sea would swallow her away from her goal forever?

There was only one way to find out: by continuing to play the game.

Eyes back to the pitch, the match went on.

Mio felt a light tap on the back of her shoulder before the game even started. A familiar face appeared, if she is not mistaken, Kanae, @Kanae Suzuki, a girl in the same school as her is here, as her team-mate. Morever, she is in the same year as her. To be there floating side by side with Kanae does made her feel a little less stiff, there's also @Miharu Goto, another face that she saw on the boat ride. Knowing there is people from her school does bring some kind of pride, but not enough to make her more enthusiastic about the game.

Her role is pretty simple, protecting their seeker, which is Miharu-san, she guessed. Although she looks pretty frail most of the time, Mio is actually stronger than what most people think. Yes she is weak when it comes to actual strength, but she is the type to not know when to give up. Which means, getting rid of her is not as easy as most people thinks.

The game begin as she trails Miharu looking for any bludgers to fly near her vicinity. But the game has been pretty calm on her end, with nothing much going on. Although, there is more things going on with Kanae and her other team-mates. She wondered if there is more she could do, but anything she do is just probably going to be too in the way to the more experienced players.

In 3… 2… 1…

And start!

Right off the bat… there were no fouls. A strange start if you ask Miharu. Quidditch usually starts with fouls. Blatches, cheating, you name it. It’s Quidditch. Those were a big part of the game despite how dishonorable they might sound. Sometimes, you just have to play dirty to win. While this game had a clean start, she couldn’t say it was uneventful.

Bludgers were flying around and most of them seemed to be targeting one of their Beaters, @Kanae Suzuki. Haru trusts that Kanae could take care of herself, just like she could trust Sara Kohana before. This reminded her of how their team just lost two of their players being Sara and Ginyami Midorimori. She would miss them even if her face doesn’t show it. They were one of the few people that she felt close to.

Glancing on her side, she could see @Mio Kasasagi trailing behind. Sadly, the action wasn’t around the Seeker but rather, around the Beater. It did make her feel safer searching for that snitch. Speaking of, she wasn’t expecting that flying golden ball to just magically appear in front of her at the very start. But then it decided to do just that. A good start she supposed but she had to remember that this was no ordinary Quidditch game.

1/ In the role of Seeker, if an opponent attempts to Bludger or Blatch you, there is a 20% chance that you veer out of the way the last second and another enemy player at RANDOM is targeted instead.

Note: The new target still gets their normal dodge attempt. This is not considered to be an auto-dodge, in fact this roll is done before any accuracy rolls are done.

2/ In the role of Chaser, if you have a contested quaffle grab and a contested strength roll between yourself and another user is in progress, unless they have the same broom, you would be the victor of the contested quaffle grab. In addition, rounds where you are successfully carrying the quaffle in an attempt to score, you only take half-damage from bludgers and blatching attempts.
