Draven's corner of the library had evolved over the years. He called it a corner, but it was more of a deceptively large closet, tucked away behind two massive support beams. Presumably, at some point in time, it had been meant for storage.
The inside of the closet was clean- that was the first thing one noticed when they walked in. A stark contrast to the thick layer of dust that not even house elves bothered with anymore, which had settled over that particular section of the library. No, instead of flitterby moths and doxies, rotting books and spiderwebs, the closet was clean enough you could eat your lunch off the floor.
Which Draven had, actually. Many times.
The floor at first, then sat atop a collapsed cardboard box.
At some point during his third year, the cardboard box had transformed into a misshapen pillow, bought for a couple knuts at a closing out sale in Hogsmeade. Then, after a rather impulsive purchase which set him back twenty galleons, a magical couch.
The couch had stayed.
He'd stopped bothering with packing it up, content with the knowledge that nobody ever visited the closet, let alone cared enough to steal it.
Or so he'd thought.
The teapot was next. A bit of a temperamental one, that one. At 4pm every day, a piping hot pot of tea was brewed. No amount of bargaining or begging with the pot changed the time, nor did it allow you to pick the tea. The pot did whatever it wished, and if it was in the mood for licorice root tea, that's what it brewed.
Usually, its choices were pretty good.
Oddities had begun to appear at the end of Draven's third year. At first, things in the closet would seem- off. A blanket wouldn't be folded right. A book would be pushed aside rather than placed atop the work table. He'd attributed the changes to house elves and forced himself not to think too deeply about it.
It was when little trinkets were left behind that Draven started growing uneasy. A tome on astronomy he couldn't remember reading. Books on Greek mythology. Torn strips of parchment paper, the odd quill.
Or, the most startling and frankly somewhat disturbing discovery- a sketchbook. And not just any sketchbook- one filled with photorealistic sketches that rivled the skill of any muggleborn professional artist. Draven had been afraid to touch the book once he'd started flipping through it. It was a level of intricate detail, mind-numbing effort, and dedication he could never hope to rival. The sketches were almost as good as Kith's.
He'd known it was a matter of time before he met the artist. Statistically speaking, they were bound to run into each other at some point. He'd imagined the encounter going a dozen different ways.
Maybe it was an older student - someone like Aurelia, with quiet grace and an unspoken air of danger about them. Could it be someone in his year? A student he'd never noticed before, who faded in the background during lectures and sketched until their fingers cramped? Or perhaps a professor? Some staff member desperately trying to get away from the chaos and noise, passing out on the magical couch and hoping pupils wouldn't find them?
He didn't know. Really, dear reader, you'd think that after a year of pondering, Draven would have come up with SOMETHING.
But no. He had nothing.
And he continued to have nothing even after he stumbled in his corner, letting the door swing shut behind him. It closed with a click, plunging him into darkness for a couple seconds. Draven fumbled with his wand, a half-assed Lumos sending beams of warm light shining through the closet. And directly atop Slenderman's Son, apparently.
"Nah-" Draven cursed, taking a hasty step back and walking directly into the closed door.

Damien could remember how he felt the first year of Hogwarts, he tried to avoid large crowds and people in general as he felt like an outsider in his own house and especially in his school. Now was that because of anyone ? No not at all instead it was due to the fact he himself didn’t know how to act as his whole world felt like it was coming down. He had just been sorted into Ravenclaw and was still anxiously awaiting a letter from his father. He wasn’t meant to be in Ravenclaw he was suppose to be in Gryffindor their must have been some sort of mistake or something wrong with the sorting ceremony, he tried to think of every logical explanation for what had happened but the more he pondered and thought it through the more his thoughts felt like that of a Ravenclaw. He spent most of his time desperately trying to find a way to switch houses he was even tempted to go to the headmaster himself and beg to switch houses as he truly did not want to be in Ravenclaw. During this time his only friends were his cat Apollo who he had gotten that same year and his books. Books that he held close to him between his Greek mythology book from the gods to the woes of Odysseus. To his astronomy book that helped him know which stars to look out for at night to his sketchbook that helped him draw out how he felt from time to time. Those are what kept him sane but their was just one problem, he still did not want to be around people and wanted someway to do all the things he enjoyed in privacy away from prying nosy eyes. It just so happened that one day the dates either taking pity on this poor boy or deeming him worthy of a reward blessed him not with the deepest darkest pits of Tartarus but instead a hidden area of the library. It was located in a area that would look like some dusty old closet where books that were deemed not important or took too much space would go and spend the rest of their days decaying till they were no more than dust. Damien had thought that what it was at first when he accidentally stumble into it, and by stumbled I mean tripped on his own shoes and fell forward which pushed open the door which was unlocked at this time. After he dusted himself off and slowly looked inside he noticed it was a bit dark luckily he had learnt one of the most useful spells in charms class that helped him a lot. He uttered the simple words of Lumos before lighting up the place as his eyes widen. Inside of this seemingly closet was actually quite a spacious place. Instead of cardboard boxes and dusty dirty floors Damien expected to see he was met by comfy cozy pillows as well as floor so clean it looked like you could eat off of it and be perfectly fine. His gazed moved up higher as he noticed a couch that looked like the coziest spot to be having a lovely nap on, but that wasn’t even the best part. Damien best part in his opinion would have to be the teapot. He didn’t know what strange spell was put onto this teapot but it seemed to have a mind of its own. It would make tea around 4 o’clock every day, why specifically 4 o’clock and not the natural tea time that everyone drank tea at he didn’t know. The reason he enjoyed the teapot so much was because it was like a fun mysterious game, he never knew what tea it would make so it was exciting to see what flavor he would get. This place was perfect it was everything he was looking for, a place that felt safe isolated from others but not just that, a place that felt like his and he wanted to keep it that way. Throughout the years Damien would come here whenever he just wanted someone to read or to get away from the struggles he was dealing with like with his father and how he was basically disowning him as a son. Sure it wasn’t official but still didn’t hurt that his father wouldn’t see him as a son anymore. Damien started to leave a few of his things in the closet as he felt they would be safe since for as much as he knew he was the only one in here. Though he started to get a weird feeling he wasn’t when his sketchbook something that was very private to him didn’t always seem to be in the same spot, sometimes it was slightly moved to where it was subtle but Damien noticed. He always noticed. Or it was left on a different page than the one he had it on, it always threw him for a loop as his name was in the books signed in bright blue ink with the peacock quill he used. It stated it was property of Damien Odysseus Dragonclaw and if lost to please return it. So the fact no one thought to try and return it meant two things, one they never looked through the whole book or two they just never looked at the cover page that had the writing on it. Damien signed most of his books he own that way if not on the books he had little things to hold the name for him so if he ever wanted to get rid of a book he could remove it either damaging it. Not that he would get rid of a book that sounds like something only an insane person would do. He smiled fondly to himself as these memories of this place came flooding back when he came back in September for his third year at Hogwarts. He wasn’t the same as when he left the room at the end of second year. He had a new look and a whole new attitude. He now has jet black dark hair reminiscent of his uncle’s Deigo hair as well as darker clothes, he traded his usual blue stripped sweaters for a now more darker color almost black with some chain necklaces and black jeans with a sparkly belt along with a black jean jacket and other accessories he had. He still wore his famous Ravenclaw blue outfits but he wanted to make a statement when he came back to Hogwarts and show what he had learnt from all his uncles and aunts this summer in Italy. His aunt and uncle Eleanor and Atlas blackthorne had taught him tips for putting on makeup as well as gifting him a few makeup kits. It was mainly for things like eye shadow and if he wanted to add some color to his face and lips. He truly didn’t think he’d use it as much but the eyeshadow truly did look nice on him. Of course it wasn’t anything too dark, right now it was black but a Smokey kinda black so it didn’t look out of place with his outfits. As he sat back down on the familiar feel of the couch he just smiled at the room before speaking to himself. “Did you miss me ? What I know i look different but come on I’m still the same Damien!” He chuckled as sure it was stupid but the room was basically a part of him so it made sense he would speak to him like he was an old friend. “Speaking of changes! I brought a few things back from my trip in Italy to add to you! Figured you’d like a bit of an update!” Damien the whole time he had been visiting this room had never added anything to it that felt like himself, besides his personally belonging he left in the room a few times so thanks to his aunts and uncles gifting him many things he figured he’d bring some of it for the room. First thing he had brought was a record player, it wasn’t like a modern one but more of an old fashioned version. His uncle Deigo and Atlas had taken him shopping in the city and made sure they took him to a record store. Due to them being musicians themselves of course they made sure they would give him some of their own records later but they picked out many different things for Damien to tryout and listen too. So far right now he currently owned, Sabrina carpenter, the band known as KISS, another band known as Loverboy, a few classical and opera records then his personal favorites record by the king of pop himself. Or that his uncle Atlas loved to point out to himself, Micheal Jackson. Damien actually adored Micheal Jackson since he had been in his head of house Jessamine office and she had his album known as BAD playing. Damien absolutely fell in love with the song Liberian girl so he was super eager to get all of those albums. He set the record player and records neatly in a corner as he truly needed to get a little table and dressed to add to the room. The next thing was a bottle of wine from the blackthorns winery, the body of course was empty as Damien wasn’t able to drink it so his aunt Jessica and his aunts Eleanor wife Margaret suggested they use a clean bottle and Damien could take it with him and put flowers or smth meaningful in it, so he did just that he had brought some flowers from outside the grounds before pouring some water and putting them into the wine bottle and setting it near the teapot making look lovelier. Speaking of the teapot Damien for the longest time wanted to give it a name and thanks to his uncles he now finally figured out what to name it. The whole family including his mother, grandma and grandpa Romeo and Amelia as well as his uncle Thomas had went out to the cinema in the nearby muggle town as Damien still had never seen a movie before and they thought it would be a great bonding experience. The movie that was playing at the time was classic according to Atlas and Eleanor, it was based off of a fairytale Damien had read while he was younger but this version was much different from the fairytale that originally was darker. It was none other then beauty and the beast, for like the good half of the movie Damien mind race with many questions and thoughts between finding Gaston absolutely disgusting to trying to figure out why Mrs Potts kept all her other kinds in the cupboards most of the movie but not Chip before he could finally relax and just enjoy this moment with his family. He still had many thoughts about this movie that would be reveal soon dear voices in his head! But for now he was focused on what he would name the teapot. “I shall be naming you Ms pots!” Damien felt the name was fitting and also very lovely for this magical teapot. He also made sure to place a few snacks his mother had made this time with the help of his aunts and uncles near the teapot as you could always do good with a snack and the good thing about these were they were charmed so they wouldn’t go bad unless you opened them and left them out for a really long time. Now that most of the stuff he has brought for today was done and settled nicely into the room he laid himself down onto the couch as he set his sketchbook beside him not to use but to save for later on as he pulled out a different book, a romantic book. Damien had enjoyed romantic novels a lot in his second year so when he found out Margret and Thomas both enjoyed romance novels too he was absolutely thrilled. Damien tended to keep that to himself as he did not need to be made fun of for something he quite enjoyed nicely. The current story he was reading was about two princes from different kingdoms, one was from the kingdom of the roaring sun’s where the roars were so loud it shook the ground they walked on, while the other one was from the kingdom of the soaring moon’s where they would soar through the night sky admiring the stars and studying them. The sun prince had locks of golden hair almost like a mane of a lion but with the shyness of a puppy, while the moon prince had brown locks almost like the feathers on an eagle with the cleverness of a crow. Two princes from opposite kingdoms destined to fall in love for each other, both very different yet so similar. Damien truly enjoyed this story and wanted to read more of it. He grabbed his wand casting Lumos but making it dim so it focused only on his book as he started to read. As hours passed Damien had fallen asleep with the book still open in his lap now on top of the wand that laid dormant underneath it, but that rest wouldn’t last long as suddenly he jolted awake to the door being unlocked and opened before being closed and locked again. He jumped up started as his book gently fell onto the floor. He grabbed his wand and held it out as he and another voice said Lumos at the same time. The room was engulfed in a light so bright he thought he’d be blind but he quickly jumped back into the couch more as he let out a startled yell. “AH-!” He held his legs close to himself as he just looked at the boy with a red tint to his cheeks from being caught off guard by this random stranger. |

Slendy was from money.
His clothes were neat and well-made, leaning alternative in style and accessories. Black on black on gray, denim atop denim. A studded belt and a simple chain necklace shone dully in the light. His hair was dye-box black, standing on end as if the kid had run his fingers through it constantly.
Draven took him in.
Took in his washed-out skin and thin frame, the trail of smoke around his eyes, and the rose which had exploded across his cheeks. The boy had gathered his limbs in, shrinking in his spot. In his haste to pull back, the feeble Lumos he'd cast went out like a snuffed match.
Funny. He knew, intellectually, they must have looked alike. Dark, slender, each trying to occupy less space, mirrored expressions of surprise strapped to their faces. But even with the gap between them being minuscule - a couple steps at most, Draven couldn't have felt further.
"Oh," he heard himself say, lowering the wand. The kid was squinting, trying to blink away the light aftershock. Draven grimaced, letting the Lumos fade to a friendly glow. "Yeah, I guess that makes sense."
From between locks of hair, Deimos shuffled out, preparing to leap. He was going through a phase. A 'scare all the little kids by jumping on their face' sort of phase. It needed constant management, much to Draven's dismay.
The older student cupped his hands around the spider.
"You know, I'd hoped you were older," he sighed, awkwardly setting his bag down atop a forgotten chair. He'd dragged it in maybe a year before, figuring the thick layer of dust atop it indicated no search parties would appear. "Would have made me feel a LOT better about my stick figure drawings."
Confrontation. His worst enemy, his oldest companion.
Draven's skin itched as he set Deimos down atop his bag. 'Don't you dare', his eyes were saying. The spider looked unbothered, but didn't advance toward the kid either. Turning back, Draven shifted in place. What was there even to say?
"If I had a knut for every little kid I found in my hidey holes, I'd have three knuts." Which wasn't a lot, but a clear indication he was terrible at finding hiding places.

Damien just stayed curled up inside of himself as he just stared at the other boy, was this the guy that would appear whenever Damien wasn’t around ? If so then this would explain all the furniture Damien never put in here as well as why his books and things would be slightly moved from where he had originally placed them. He honestly didn’t know what to think nor what to say so he just stayed quiet for a few moments as he listened to the boy speak. His blueish grey eyes widen when he heard the boy speak about wishing he was older, why could he possibly wish that Damien was older ? Damien wasn’t that young unless..this guy was just really really old but that couldn’t be right he didn’t look old at all he looked, very young as well. Stick figure drawings ? What was this boy possibly talking about- that’s when it hit him. Damien realize the boy must have did more than just move his books around he looked inside of them. Specifically his sketchbook which meant he saw all of his sketches from his simple one to his more private and personal ones. His cheeks slowly began to fill with a light blush as he just looked away and mumbled to himself. “Oh! Uhm..im sorry I’m sure you’re drawing are lovely.” He truly didn’t know what to say as he didn’t mean to make the boy feel awkward as if his drawings wasn’t good or anything he honestly didn’t think anyone would ever look inside of his sketch book, granted Damien had many sketch books but that one was where he drew most of his feelings to capture the moment of how he felt about something or…someone. So the fact someone he didn’t know might have saw those did scare him a bit. He frowned a bit as he just looked at the boy. “Hey, I am not a kid! I might be younger but I ain’t no little baby.” He let out a huff as he crossed his arms before looking at the boy. “Well at least I know you’re not a ghost now..I just thought a ghost found this place and kept moving my stuff around to play a trick on me, that or Misses Potts was possessed.” He shrugged as he just looked at the tea pot and the tea cups he had placed along with it. “Well uhm..I’m Damien Dragonclaw nice to meet you I suppose!” |

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
A red tinge had blossomed across Slendy's cheeks, eyes wide as saucers. Draven paused, racking his brain for the faux pas. He couldn't really come up with anything. Blinking, he glanced around the room. The space between them hadn't changed. He hadn't raised his voice or acted in any unsavory manner thus far. Even his clothes were clean, not at all covered in spiderwebs, and they actually fit him for once.
Weird.
"No, they're not," he said, matter-of-factly. Like stating the sky was blue, or JKR was a horrible person. His drawings were not 'lovely'. Or even passably good for that matter. That fact would have driven him mad as a young boy; after all, who was he if not remarkable? But the barb of inadequacy had faded. Failure stung, sure, but only when he truly cared about something. Art was not one of those things.
"I don't know," Draven said, a mischievous smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "You seem pretty little from where I'm standing.". Hovering at a solid 6'0 /182, the rate at which Draven was growing had slowed down substantially. Where in the years prior he'd been shooting up like a bamboo sapling, now he could go ages without buying new clothes. It was easier on his pocket, though bad for his ego. The other boys in his year were finally catching up. He didn't look so wildly out of place anymore.
He'd hoped to rival his dad's height one day. Maybe that was still possible. A freaky growth spurt, or some spell. But his days of gazing atop the heads of students were threatening to come to a close.
"First of all," he began at the ghost comment. "If I WERE a ghost, I wouldn't be haunting Hogwarts. And second of all-" he paused, glancing over at the pot. A fine bottle of wine had appeared beside it, a shock of vivid color right above. Flowers, delicate and beautiful, had been placed in the bottle like a vase. A small stash of snacks kept the flowers company, piled dexterously beside them. 'Missus Potts' seemed chuffed to bits, surrounded by a set of delicate teacups. They were clustered around her like a group of gossiping ladies in evening gowns, carefully painted designs standing out atop the pale china.
Draven raised an eyebrow at the kid. "Did you pick those, or did your mom?"
He tugged at the strap holding his bag closed, fishing through it blindly. He'd been keeping everything in the same place for years. Finding his mug wasn't difficult, though it did require some shifting things around.
He pulled it out. An ugly, chipped thing with bold letters printed on top. 'JUST FOR TODAY', it said, with the last letter of each word bolded. The print was a pleasant shade of navy, though it had begun washing away in some places. Draven set the mug down beside Missus Potts.
"Draven," he said, brain catching up with him a second before the pause would have run too long. "Dragonclaw, huh. Any relation to Axyen?"

Damien just frowned as he looked at the older boy, why must he discourage his art like that sure Damien did know he was slightly better than most kids his age but he still believed that anyone could be a talented artist and this guy had all the right brooding to become a artist who paints his feelings onto a canvas for millions to see. Damien hated when someone who could probably be creative downs themselves as you’ll never get anywhere if you push yourself use down like that. “Hey!, don’t down yourself like that so what if you’re drawings aren’t the best I’m positive you could make them even better! You won’t get no where if you keep downing yourself though!” He tried to keep his voice uplifting and encouraging as he wanted to lift this guys spirits even for only a little bit. He suddenly noticed the mischievous smirk on his face before gasping and standing up to his full height and looking at the boy. “I am not that little! Maybe you’re just freakishly tall!….i am sorry that sounds rude..” He quickly apologized right after as he had heard how what he said sounded and it didn’t seem like something he should be saying especially to a older student so he would have felt bad had he not apologized right after. Damien never really had anyone point out his height before as he had always been taller it’s what made teasing Artie so much fun as he had to lean down to his height. That and also seeing the way Artie squirmed and blushed was pretty funny too. He honestly never question where he got his height from but he had a suspicious it had something to do with both his parents but more so his mom side of the gene pool as his uncles and aunts were quite tall from when he met them all this summer. Damien crossed his arms as he listened to Draven speak, well of course Damien didn’t think he was a ghost now that was obvious but the idea of being a ghost not haunting Hogwarts was kinda funny to Damien as he was pretty sure if someone died here their ghost would be stuck in Hogwarts or that’s how he always assumed it work he truly didn’t know much about how spirits and ghost worked nor did he want to know as he was sure he wouldn’t sleep at night even if he was a little curious. Damien focus snapped back when boy asked him did he pick out the teacups and other stuff or his mom. He let out a small huff before he crossed his arms sitting back down slowly and looking at him. “The Teacups, I picked because I felt they matched Misuses Pots. The wine bottle vase was just an added touch since it came from my family winery along with that record player and extra records my uncles and aunts had gifted me.” honestly they gifted too much stuff it was why Damien had so many extras of things like the record player and some records and why he put it into the corner of the room as he felt it would give it some life. Damien just smiled and was about to comment on how Draven had a lovely name before stopping at the mention of his cousin. “Axyen ?…oh yeah that’s my older cousin! You know him ? Also Draven is a nice name” He asked with a curious look on his face as he smiled brightly a contrast to his black hair and outfit currently. |
