FAQ — Questions
Hiya! I just got my ability approved (5th July, yay!), I'm assuming I can't use it in the Capture the Flag competition right? As the ability would appear suddenly IC and could affect the characters?
Also about Abilities, I made it so he skipped years 1 and 2, would than mean he wouldn't have an ability for those years, or would the ability just appear as of when i write them? (if that makes sense?)
Thank you so much!

FAQ — Questions
It is true that we usually don't allow ability/stat change mid game but you can always owl/dm the moderator and ask.
Not sure if this answers your second question but if your character is human (which Axel seems to be) they can get up to one ability per year. Meaning that now, being a fourth year, your character can have up to four abilities. You can apply for them whenever and even specify which year it's for (for example adding a note saying '1st year slot', '2nd year ability' etc.). Something to keep in mind is that this is not a way to bypass pre requirements. For example, you wouldn't be able to get an ability that requires your character to be a second year for their first year slot. Hope that makes sense -
FAQ — Questions
Hello, I'm a CTF mod and can answer the first question! Due to the event taking place before graduation, abilities/stats added updated due to graduation cannot be used. The exception to this is if you received an ability for an empty slot that existed before graduation/during CTF. This is because trunks are not locked. For example, your abilities from first to third year would count as you are now a fourth year. The fourth year ability would not count.Axel Brooks wrote: 5 Jul 2026, 08:08 Hiya! FAQ — Questions
If doing an RP thread that's basically just in class is it allowed to mention a professors name and do very minor godmodding? By that I just mean basically describing what's in the lesson plan and what's taking place in the class, but obviously no direct interactions or things that are out of the ordinary.
like very bad example but just something along the lines of: Today Minyu had X class with professor X, who talked about X. (obviously replacing the X's with the actual context of the scene)
Totally understandable if not allowed, just wanting to make sure of the rules!

If I remember correctly you can mention what they said in the lesson but you can’t say answers or give hints to answers for homeworkMinyu McCullen wrote: 5 Jul 2026, 21:12If doing an RP thread that's basically just in class is it allowed to mention a professors name and do very minor godmodding? Make sure to owl or dm the professor to gain approval of using their character in your RP and light godmodding.Minyu McCullen wrote: 5 Jul 2026, 21:12If doing an RP thread that's basically just in class is it allowed to mention a professors name and do very minor godmodding? Yeah, I figured that would probably be the answer! I don't want to step on anyones toes, but what if you just don't mention the professor at all but just mention the class.Dylan Astor wrote: 5 Jul 2026, 21:22Make sure to owl or dm the professor to gain approval of using their character in your RP and light godmodding.Minyu McCullen wrote: 5 Jul 2026, 21:12If doing an RP thread that's basically just in class is it allowed to mention a professors name and do very minor godmodding? Again bad example but: Minyu is in X class today, and the lesson is about X. She is looking out the window and is bored.
Would you still need approval for something like that, since it is implying that they're there? (because obviously you can't be taking the class without a professor present.)
FAQ — Questions
I would strongly recommend, as a former professor (Elmo Break- HoM, Octavius Baird- Astro, Nurse, HoM) to double check with the professor. Chances are, they'll say yes. I think what you said is fine, but I might suggest ensuring the syllabus says that exactly, because for example, you wouldn't be talking about a 5th year topic at 1st year unless it was specifically named in the syllabus. However, each professor has their preferences. I specifically preferred for people to stick with the curriculum I was in the midst of writing over the old curriculum from professors before me because if it was during my tenure, I wanted them to learn from MY tenure, not from past tenures.Minyu McCullen wrote: 5 Jul 2026, 21:34Yeah, I figured that would probably be the answer!
