Lending a Helpful Wing
After that almost fight like encounter, Haeli was a little shooken up. She had a feeling that she made things worse, not only for the Hufflepuff boy, but also for herself. At the same time, she knew she did the right thing. Or, did she? She couldn't tell anymore.
Before she knew it, Haeli was already at the base of the enclosed, stone spiral staircase. It was chilly, but that was to be expected. Haeli has a knot in her stomach the size of a pebble, but it was only growing. She wished that she never left her dormitory this morning. Then, she wouldn't have bumped into those boys. Haeli knew that she would never let herself live this down, especially if she made things worse.
She started walking up the chilly staircase, slowly. She was starting to feel the symptoms of Claustrophobia, however. She was unraveling because of todays earlier events. She sped up to the point where she was practically running up the stairs. Once she made it to the opening at he top, she was out of breath. She went directly to the window, for fresh air, and sat down on the windowsill.
There was a pocket inside of her robes that she stuffed her journal and pencil into. She reached into this pocket and pulled both, journal and pencil, out. She needed to clear her head, and writing was always helpful.
Haeli wrote down everything that had happened so far this morning. As she finished up, she took a deep breath in and held it, before letting it all out at once. She felt a little bit better. She still felt bad for that Hufflepuff, but she was calm.
Up in the rafters, the owls were hooting. One flew down and landed on Haeli's leg, like it knew she needed comforting. "Why, good morning to you. How has your day been so far? Better then mine I hope." Haeli stroked its head. The owl just stared up at her with big, curious eyes.
Haeli reached into her pocket and pulled out an owl treat. She held it out, the owl took it, and hooted at her as if saying "Thank You." Haeli was sure to keep a stash of owl treats in a pocket of her robes, after all, her favorite place in the castle, so far at least, was crowded with a ton of owls. It only made sense to be prepared.
The owl flew back up to its spot up in the rafters. Haeli followed it with her eyes and smiled as she looked up at all of the owls.
She wasn't sure what time it was yet, but she told her friends last night that she would meet them for breakfast. Feeling much better, she stood up and started heading down the staircase, to the Great Hall.

Prove them wrong. Twice.
