PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

Minyu has dark brown hair, that goes just past her shoulders. She has had bangs as long as she can remember, which are sometimes uneven as they're always cut by her mother with kitchen scissors.
Her eyes are also a shade of dark brown, which stands in great contrast to her lighter skin.
Minyu has always been short for her age, and stands at only 137 cm at 11 years old.

BACKSTORY

Minyu was born in Hangzhou, China on September 25th, 2014. Her biological father was a pureblood wizard, and when her mother found out, she freaked out, and left Minyu with a foster family. When Minyu was just a year old, she was adopted by an Irish couple, who wasn’t able to have children of their own.
Her adoptive parents, John and Elaine, always dreamt of having a child, so when they finally got Minyu, they spoiled her rotten and made sure she always got everything she wanted.
Minyu’s childhood was calm and happy. She often felt a bit lonely, being an only child, and even though her parents did spend a lot of time with her, it didn’t make up for the fact that she had no one her age to play with.
She grew up in a big cottage, near the ocean, so Minyu was always playing on the beach, and learnt to swim as soon as she could walk. She loved the water and felt so grateful to be so close to it. She could even see it from her bedroom window!
In the summertime, they always go to visit her mother's family, and being around her cousins makes her feel less alone. Being the only Chinese girl around sometimes made Minyu feel different, even though everyone was very accepting of her.
Minyu’s adoptive parents are both muggles, with no knowledge of the magical world, so Minyu was raised a muggle and was just as surprised as her parents when a delegate from Hogwarts showed up at their door.
Her parents were sceptical at first, but the delegate must have convinced them, because once they saw how excited Minyu was, they couldn’t help but feel proud. 
They all wondered if perhaps her birth parents were magical as well, since Minyu is adopted, but the delegate ensured them that there was no way of knowing, and it would still be likely for her birth parents to be muggles.
Minyu, however, still couldn’t shake the feeling, and for the first time, it somehow made her feel closer to her birth parents, despite still knowing nothing about them.

FIOM

Minyu's first instance of Magic happened when she was only 8 years old, and she was out fishing with her parents. While their backs were turned, she accidentally slipped and fell into the water. When she opened her eyes, a bubble had formed around her, and she was able to breathe and look around. She quickly found her footing, and when returning to the surface, she was fully dry. Minyu never forgot it, but her parents were convinced that she had made it up, or dreamt it.
