The Problem with Loving You Book
Chapter 1: My ex (Urgh)
As the most popular student at Everglades, I have guys simping for me all the time. But, too bad so sad, because I'm already dating someone- Jake. If I'm the It-girl of the school, then he's the It-guy.

"Miley, what's the answer to question 4?"

I snap out of my daydreams and look at the board. As always, the syndrome I have decided to keep a secret takes over me and I am unable to read what is written on the board. I squint my eyes and groan. Dyslexia is truly the worst!

By the time, I stand up to get a better look, Jenna, my best friend and the only one who knows about my dyslexia, whispered the question and answer into my ear.

"Sir, the answer is x-24, or you can call it 3"

"Very impressive, Miss Sinclair, you may sit down"

I pass the last few minutes of class twirling my pencil through my wavy brown hair, which I never tie despite the school's dress code, and winking at Jake from across the classroom.

As soon as the bell rings, I am the first to get up from my seat, walk over to Jake's table, place and note and run off from the class.

I immediately rush into the music classroom, which as Jenna had told me, was completely empty. While I took a seat, Jake arrived, holding my note.

"You asked me to meet you here?"

"Yes, I did" I say this and pull him closer. His nose barely an inch from my face. We pull each other in a long, lingering kiss that ends only when I get a text from Jenna that the teacher is coming.

"See ya tomorrow" I say winking at him as I walk out the room with my usual strut. As usual, all heads turn to me as I walk into the corridors. My squad- Mia, the cheerleader who gives me gossip, Luther, the artist who takes care of my social media and my bodyguard, Pam, along with my best friend, Jenna, follow along.

The thing about popular girl is that people always assume their mean. I might be cool, popular and might look mean at first, but that's just because you can't see through my personality.

I walk over to the pavement and sit on the seat a crazy stalker guy who had a crush on me once carved (long story). Usually, I'm the first of my squad to reach home but today, everyone's rides came before mine and after everyone was gone, I was still standing there.

"Where's my limo?" I call out in anger when a notification buzzes from my phone.

It was a text from my mom saying that the limo driver's on holiday today and I'll have to arrange my own means of transport to go home.

"UGGHH!" I shout in anger. How am I supposed to get home? But then I remember that Jake stays in the school a bit late and he has a motorcycle. Maybe he can drop me home!

I open my phone and prop Jake a text asking whether its okay if I sashay with him for one day and then I head over to the parking lot and find Jake's motorcycle. There's only one problem- he's already on it.

Don't get me wrong- he has full right to sit on his motorcycle but while kissing another girl so aggressively when you already have a girlfriend. Really? Can someone stoop that low?

"What a surprise!" I say out loud enough for everyone still in the school to hear me (Thankfully, nobody is still in the school) and Jake and his "other girl" look up at me. The girl has a confused expression while Jake looks afraid.

"Babe, I swear. this is not what it looks like!" he exclaims out loud while the other girl just gives him a how-dare-you-call-another-girl-babe stare.

"Oh really, because it looks like you're cheating on me and I'm pretty sure it is exactly like that!"

"Correction- on the two of us!" the girl stands up and says, wiping her lips and she strides away screaming "WE'RE DONE!"

"And so are we" I scream, as I slap him with all my might and decide to walk home instead.
