This event is part of the Castelobruxo International Capture the Flag event
CV
25TH OF JUNE, 2026 IN THE OUTSIDE PAVILION

The gathering hall, let alone the outside pavilion, was rarely used for gatherings larger than the occasional visit from returning alumni and field researchers, making this internationally extended invitation a hallmark event for Castelobruxo. It had been decades since Santiago last walked through these very grounds, but he could not remember, ever, hosting an event at this scale for the larger community. As far as he knew, this was the first time either of these schools would set foot on South American soil. He was looking forward to the participation. Granted, it had been his initiative to invite the foreign schools in the first place. Santiago had been engaged in much of the planning and preparing of the pavilion in terms of seating arrangements and menu. It went without saying, and he’d deny it if asked aloud, that his own engagement was largely motivated by selfish reasons.

Capture the Flag aside, Santi was expecting to see a familiar face in the Russian Director, feeling that they last parted with some unfinished business between them. That said, he didn’t know the exact number of participants that would arrive, and if anyone he found of somewhat importance would be among them. Infuriating, from a Headmaster standpoint, that meant that planning for seats and malocas was a guessing game. Nevertheless, they were over-dimensioned in the case of a large influx of students.

Even so, the entire school seemed to anticipate the arrival of their distant peers, walking on eggshells throughout the week leading up to the evening of their arrival. A group of students had offered — practically begged — to display their skills by performing a rehearsed fire-dance routine for the guests. Swinging fire around a group of unpredictable children sounded like a potential recipe for disaster to his cautious ears. The Headmaster remained skeptical, telling them he would think about it before eventually, and somewhat reluctantly, announcing a few days later that they would be allowed to perform, provided they followed the appropriate safety protocols. While admirable, fire-dancing as a hobby was not something he personally found any sort of appeal in, but he did not wish to rain on anyone’s parade. The Amazonas jungle handled that well on its own.

Speaking of the weather, the forecast for today’s evening feast promised a bleeding sunset and clear skies. A cluster of large tables had been set up in the pavilion for casual-fine dining. Large terracotta vases—potted by yours truly, though no one would know— containing colorful botanical arrangements were centerpieces on the tables. The plates and tablecloths followed the same warm, earthly color-scheme. On the three-course menu were a selection of traditional South American dishes, ranging from Causa Limeña: a whipped yellow potato terrine layered with local crab and avocado—a fully plant-based alternative existed for those who followed a vegetarian diet— to Argentinian premium rib-eye steak. The elves, who were used to cooking varied meals for the student houses on a daily basis, would gladly make fine-adjustments to those who took liberty to request custom meals.

Once everyone had gathered in the pavilion and chosen their seats (mixed seating was encouraged) Santiago stood up from his seat to wish everyone welcome.

“Welcome! It’s not often we open up the grounds like this, but we’re all very happy to have you. I know some of the older students have been very excited to show you their fire dancing.” His gaze flickered briefly to those involved, earning flustered dramatic mouthing in return. Chuckling quietly, he continued.

“All I ask of you is to be sensible once the fire-dancing starts. We don’t want any accidents before the games even start.” The corner of his lips curved teasingly. “Enjoy the meal, and hope you sleep well-rested for tomorrow's games.”

Once he’d delivered his mandatory welcome, Santi lowered onto his seat once more.

Further beyond the site, the resident alpacas and llamas were grazing freely, but never coming close enough to interact with the students on their own initiative. Once in a while, they would lift their long necks to curiously observe the unusually buzzing area, all while their mouths chewed lazily.

Noticing a pair of students trying to lure an alpaca closer to the pavilion, Santiago commented with mild irony, “You probably don’t want them here while eating.” The man lifted a mug of water to his lips, glancing over the rim. “They absolutely do spit.”

Though, at the end of the day, he wouldn’t correct anyone who decided to test their fortune.

Castelobruxo. Such a beautiful school. Really, it was so tropical, and beautiful. A nice change from the mountains. My parents have taken me to Brazil before, and Costa Rica. So I’ve been in these type places before. I thought they were super pretty. The only downside was the humidity. But it’s give some take some eh? My jaw dropped when I saw the waterfalls. They were beautiful beyond words. The sunset blended beautifully, but the thing that excited me the most was the school itself. As I traveled closer it became clearer that the school was like a Aztec temple. I stared up at it. I’ve learned about it in muggle school. I spotted someone I knew out of the corner of my eye. But I kept going. There were a bunch of people, from all over the world. Might have been one of my friend’s doupplegangers! I ended up sitting between a student from Mathou and another student from another school. The Headmaster then introduced himself…And some fire dancers. I was in shock, Hogwarts didn’t have fire dancers. After the Headmaster finished talking I turned to each of the people on my side. I looked at the Mathourokou student first. ”Hello, I’m Tina Carille. I’m a first year Ravenclaw from Hogwarts.” I said with a warm smile. Then I turned to the student next to me and did the same introduction. I then spotted Dido, Dido Bleaklane, my best friend. She wasn’t hard to identify. I waved her over to the empty seat across from me.

Image posted by the member Summertime had arrived and with it, hot nights and even hotter days. She’d heard news of a capture the flag tournament at. Castelobruxo, a wizarding school in South America. Who would’ve been able to refuse such an opportunity? Although the great outdoors was never really her thing, missing school and a trip to America were more than enough to convince her.

She’d always loved foreign languages, especially Spanish, though she’d never had the patience to actually learn it. The way it just flowed off the tongue sounded like music to her ears. In addition she’d been curious to learn more about South American culture and history.

Now, the very first day of the event, wizarding students from all over the world were gathered outside under an elaborate terracotta pavilion. Calling the scenery around them picturesque would be an understatement. The glimmering waterfall reflected the golden hues of the sunset, the rich green of the tropical trees and plants complimenting it beautifully. If that wasn’t enough, there were alpacas too!

Jada wandered around for a few moments, side eyeing @Tina Carille, and briefly waving at @Tes Cadell as she passed by before sliding into an empty seat next to a blonde haired girl from Beauxbâtons. With a tight smile she said ”Hi, I’m Jada.”, you could never know too many people…

It’s nice in Brazil. Super pretty, i’ve been here multiple times. But i’ve never seen a place as pretty in Brazil. I walked in with a bunch of people from Mathourko and I was so surprised. There were glistening sapphire waterfalls that shone in the sunset. Which makes me want to talk about the perfect sunset. But the thing that surprised me the most was the school. It was like a temple that we studied in muggle school! I stayed tword the back of the group taking everything in. The bright flowers, the rushing water, the beautiful landscape. We got to the tables before any other school. I made sure that my skirt was smoothed out after sitting. I wore a blue tank top with a white layered skirt with white shoes with pink stars on them. I also wore a pink cardigan with the Mathourko emblem ironed onto the sweatshirt. I also wore a simple white headband that finished the outfit off. I sat there and watched as a girl with long wavy dark brown hair sat next to me. I noticed that we looked similar. I shrugged it off and didn’t say anything. I was a bit shy. The girl turned to me after the Headmaster’s speech. She wore a Ravenclaw headband and a matching knit cardigan. Under the cardigan was a white strapless top with a navy blue skirt. She seemed really nice and welcoming. I started talking to her. “Hi.” I started softly, ” Hi Tina, my name is Olivia, Olivia Belle Sato. I’m from Mathourko.” I added on. I smoothed down the pale pink cardigan, tilted my head, and blinked at her for the answer.

Paul didn't know much about Castelobruxo. He actually knew almost nothing, except for the name sounding Portuguese, so he expected they'd travel to the only country in South America where Portuguese was spoken; Brazil. Due to his lack of knowledge, his parents didn't want to let him go, but he insisted. And man, was the effort worth it! Ran through his mind, as he made his way, along with some other Hogwarts students, to the grounds of the mysterious, South American school.

The buildings looked like temples made of stone... ancient pyramids built by native Indian tribes. He knew those from documentaries on TV. People who didn't use gold to pay, but merely to decorate their surroundings. They were paying with cocoa seeds, which was, in Paul's humble view, utterly exciting and way more interesting than precious metals.

"Whoa..." Did the boy exhale in awe, watching the waterfall, as he was walking. He was wearing long, yet light, brown pants made of linen, tied with a dark, leather belt. He had a white, semi-long-sleeved shirt with a rather thin, V-shaped neckline and a robe in the colour of the trees surrounding them, with colourful embroidered patterns in quite thick stripes along the edges. On his feet, there were brown boots and around his neck, there was a large pendant on a thin, leather thread, which seemed to be a tooth. An outfit of an explorer! Ran through the boy's mind proudly.

Absent-mindedly, he reached for the case with his wand, which was hanging on his belt. When touching it, he let out a breath of relief. Haven't forgotten it anywhere so far... whew!

They soon came to the pavilion, and the tables, where food was served. He checked it out, but then, got distracted by the alpacas. Llamas? Geez, amazing! THey're so cute... Always wanted to see them in nature! The director then said that they had no trouble spitting. Are you going to risk it, Turner? Of course I am! A little... saliva drizzle never killed nobody, right?

Paul stole an apple, from one of the tables, of which he took a bite chewing, to see if it was eatable. Hm, sweet. They'll like it! Thought the boy. Reaching into his pocket, he also found some carrot leftovers from his snack from home, so he reached for them.

And wandered off, to approach the alpacas. "Hey guys, 's up?" Spoke the boy, grinning happily. He stopped nearly three meters away from them, but didn't want to go closer just yet. He stretched the arm with the apple to them, waiting for them to come and get it. "An apple, anyone? The other option are... uh," Paul showed them the carrot pieces too. "Carrots. But I'd go for the apple if I were ya, 'cause it's sweet... dulce... eh. That's all I remember from Spanish. Sorry..."

--- ---It was a rare occasion, outside of family trips, that Guinevere had the chance to go abroad, so it was a real delight when the restless girl finally stepped foot onto the vast campus of Castelobruxo. Shrouded by the rainforest, there was a level of vibrant flora and greenery that Hogwarts, in the highlands of Scotland, could not match. There was a degree of humidity in the air, and the sound of animals and insects floated around as well, some revealed by the light from the pink sunset.
The pavilion was packed with students from all the wizarding schools, and without any uniform to distinguish one from the other, there was no telling who was from what school from sight alone.
Housing, in the form of malocas, had not been assigned yet, so Guinevere had her luggage in tow as she made her way to the tables. The layout reminded her of a semi-fancy restauraunt, all tables clad in an uniform color scheme, and upon closer inspection, there were even menus. Much more elegant than seeing kids at Hogwarts all fight for the long row of offerings in the Great Hall.
She sat at a table with a good view of the scenery. Not many had occupied the table yet, and she did not recognize any. Nonetheless, she nodded hello to each.

Eden was on edge the whole day. Not because she was scared, no, that was far from her personality. In fact, Eden was ecstatic. Her school, in her completely unbiased opinion, was one of the best international wizarding schools out there. Between the wonders of their South American nature and food and the colorful cultural elements, they easily could be considered top of the line.

On the verge of entering her fourth year at Castelobruxo, Eden felt like the last years had gone to waste. What had she achieved since entering the school? Sure, she was on the Quidditch team and she tried to be kind to everyone, but it wasn’t unknown to her that the last few years had passed her up.

Nevermind her anxiety. The important thing was that her school was finally hosting an event, and she wanted to be part of all of it. She’d agreed to take part in the Capture the Flag events, even if her few strengths in sports stayed in Quidditch. Despite having her own room at the school, she desperately wanted to meet more people from across the world. For that fact, she registered herself in one of the Malocas. Now, at the feast and fire, she looked around for anyone she found particularly interesting.

The school’s headmaster, the ever welcoming Santiago Peralta, made a handful of announcements as everyone entered. Even if he had been slightly cautious about the request for the fire dance, Eden was still enthusiastic to dance for the newcomers to her school. She loved to dance. She’d do anything to show part of her favorite thing to strangers just so they could understand why they were so lucky to be alive and experiencing life’s happiness.

Eden, despite being a resident at the school and knowing it like the back of her hand, happily took to walking around the pavilion. She’d traveled to the UK school, Hogwarts, not long ago, but she had to respectfully disagree that their events were superior; at least her school had a beach club and alpacas.

She took a spot at an empty table. Eden ignored her dissatisfaction that the table was empty. In her opinion, people should be running to experience the joys of Castelobruxo food, but at some point they would have to sit and eat; they could enjoy it then.

My apologies that this is so late!

Claire was so excited to be here at Castelobruxo, that she was tapping her feet in rhythm under the table without noticing it. She loved the beautiful scenery, the exotic animals, and the warm temperature already. It was a little odd to travel to somewhere her family had never been to, but she pushed that thought aside. She probably was a little more stir crazy because she had missed the International Magical Olympic Games at Koldovstoretz due to an unfortunate accident the day before.
The welcome speech came in one ear and out the other, although she did hear the basic gest of it. But she definitely heard a close 'Hi, I'm Jada,' from someone nearby. She quickly turned her head and greeted the girl with a smile and accidently, because of her excitement, in French said "Hi, I'm Claire. Nice to meet you Jada! It's really nice here, don't you think?"
Then, over Jada's probable look of confusion, Claire realized that she had greeted her in French, and Jada looked like a Hogwarts student! That usually happened when Claire was excited! "Sorry," Claire said blushing and not meeting Jada's eyes. "I'm just so excited! I said that my name was Claire, that it is nice to meet you, and isn't Castelobruxo a beautiful school?"

Don't be fooled by my looks, blood, and riches; I am actually really nice.

Who would have thought that coming to Hogwarts almost a year ago would lead him to traveling halfway across the world to attend international events with students from other magical schools. And look at him now, at Castelobruxo, his third magical school visit after Tenusa and Koldovstoretz. They were directed to what looked like a pavilion but on the way there, his attention was already stolen by the surroundings. The South American continent was indeed something, and its rainforests were already a curious sight. Warm evening light bathed everything in shades of gold and orange beyond the gathering area. It was completely different from the snowy landscapes around Koldovstoretz and the grounds of Tenusa. Even the air was different here, it's warmer with hints of flowers and earth. He whispered to Skylar and Rose, "Reminds me a bit of Tenusa, but in a slightly different way."

The headmaster welcomed everyone so he allowed some time to listen to him. The performances followed and they were also encouraged to enjoy the feast. His gaze went to the tables that were prepared for the feast. The decorations looked beautiful, with colourful arrangements placed between plates and serving dishes. He was already eyeing the crab and avocado. "Uhhh, they have rib-eye steak, I'll definitely get that." His stomach rumbled at the sight of food, worried that was too obvious to any students around him, he felt his ears going warm but he tried to act casual. Glancing at Harumi and noticing Cirrus was just nearby, he asked the two, "See anything you like yet? I wanna try a little bit of everything here."

He spotted more of his friends from Hogwarts joining them in the pavilion, Laasya, Julia and Veda were there now too! The trip was exciting on its own, but it was even better knowing his friends were here too. The group traveled together and now they would get to experience Castelobruxo together as well. Zephyr raised a hand to get the girls' attention. "Oi, we're just about to eat, come on, join us here." After spending the year together through classes, activities, and previous school visits, they all became close.

"This place is amazing." He told his friends as he looked around. "Koldovstoretz and Tenusa were already impressive, but this is another level of awesome." He eyed the rainforest beyond the pavilion. "Is that an alpaca?" He asked his friends, looking thoughtful as he eyed the animal. Tomorrow would be the Capture the Flag tournament and he cannot wait for that to start. But tonight, he would enjoy the fire dancing performance and the feast.

Castelobruxo felt less like a school and more like something pried straight from a fantasy novel.

Cirrus had spent the better part of her journey wondering if it lived up to the stories she'd heard from the other students who were excited by the international event. But the stories really didn't do the school justice. Everything was painted in warm golds and oranges from the light of the most beautiful sunset she's ever seen, it was almost unreal. It was alive with sounds she couldn't identify - hums of strange insects and exotic birds she'd probably never heard of - and the air itself was different, heavy with warmth. It was vastly different to home. She'd never travelled outside of the United Kingdom, hell, she'd never travelled outside of Bristol until she got her Hogwarts acceptance letter.

She'd always been the type to take comfort in familiarity, and weaving music and dance with fire was not something she had a particular expertise in, nor was majority of the people whom she coexisted in this space with. All except Zephyr, whom she considered a friend, and Julia, well... memories of the duel she lost against the Ravenclaw tauntingly resurfaced her mind. Cirrus almost shuddered, deciding to place her attention elsewhere.

Despite how increasingly overwhelmed she became with each passing second, she knew this was an opportunity she had to make the most of, especially since Ezran always talks about how he wants to see the world. People of her status don't typically have the privilege of travel. This was as much an honour as it was an opportunity. Ironically, Cirrus got to go because she was asked to. She knows Ez will be jealous beyond all words. She can't wait to tell him about her escapades, even if she was genuinely horrified for the Capture the Flag event - she wouldn't consider herself a physically active person by a long shot, she has no idea why she even agreed to join, she'll probably just let her team down, and-

Zephyr's voice cut through her mental spiral, ripping her from the ironclad grip of her rampant thoughts. The food. Right, this was a feast, of which she had little appetite for. She straightened up a little.

"I don't actually know what half of this stuff is..." She stated with complete sincerity.

Her gaze then followed his, eyeing the distant rainforest before settling on the alpacas. "I think the alpacas are better than the food, though." She hadn't realised how that sounded when she said it, that perhaps it was an odd thing to say at a feast, then added awkwardly, "Not to eat, I mean." Her gaze drifted downwards to the table, ears reddening as she mumbled, "Just the alpacas themselves are nice..."

Cirrus decided maybe she should simply stay quiet for the rest of the evening...
