In her panic, Ivy had thrown her shoes into nothingness, her eyes tricking her into thinking she had seen mosps. Now she had no shoes, which was rather worrying as the ground had suddenly turned back into its muddy and soft quality again. However, that would be the least of her problems, as she would later find out. Ana's plan, whatever it was, was surely not to set herself on fire - and that was exactly what she had done. Ivy's doppelganger tripped and burst into flames without any warning, her entire body blanketed in scarlet flames.
It all happened way too fast, and Ivy was paralyzed with shock for moment. Then Ana screamed, and it was one of the most gut-wrenching things she had ever heard. That broke her trance, and Ivy ran up to her, knees shaking. "Ana!" she screamed. She was panicking. Why, oh why, had she not brought her wand? The girl seemed unable to do anything as she watched a boy, recognisable as the Quidditch Captain, (Rafa) try to extinguish the flames and fail. The other girl next to her (Astrea) attempted to cast the same spell.
How could something go so wrong? Ivy had only come to have some fun, and this happened. As a white-haired girl (Lark) attempted to put out the flames, she snapped out of it and ran over to the tables, feet covered in mud. She was looking for a liquid, any kind of liquid that would put out the fire. Pumpkin juice. Too thick. Fruit juice. Too sweet. Ivy came across a large jug of water. Finally! With trembling hands, she arrived back on scene with the jug in her hands just to see a random girl (Amara) throw an empty bucket onto Ana's face. What on Earth was she doing? That was only going to hurt Ana even more!
"What the hell?" Ivy almost dropped the jug in her anger. Her cheeks flushed bright red with anger, or maybe that was just because of the heat radiating off Ana's body. "What is wrong with you?" She would not waste any more time, and poured the water over her doppelganger. Now was not the time to argue with this idiotic girl - if Ivy got out of there alive, she would settle it with her later. Ana could die if they didn't put this fire out.

The lights were returning, filling in the gaps of what had been cloaked in darkness, though by that point there was so much fire on the pitch that the light hardly seemed to matter. There was a lot of fire, even from the tip of Willow’s wand, which found its mark on a mosp that was about to attack Opeila. Changing course, it crashed into the floor, apparently unable to keep flying long enough to attack. It must have been a powerful hit.Outfit:Reducio
”Willow, thank you!” Flash was somehow relieved.
Of course, Willow had his back and he had hers. It had been like that the whole time, just he felt like he had somehow already taken it for granted. He realized for the first time that whole night, he was standing beside someone who cared about him, who wanted to be next to him. He squeezed her tightly the moment he was able to.
No moment quite completely free at that point, Flash saw another mosp barreling towards them. Pulling her along with him, Flash was barely able to avoid being directly attacked. What on earth was attracting them to him, of all people? Meanwhile, Selim was rooting around through Vladimir’s bag, and before his reactions could benefit him again, Vladimir’s booted foot descended on Willow, giving her cause to reel and yelp. Why was he attacking Willow of all people?! Flash gathered her back in his arms before she could have a chance for her balance to give out and drop her to the floor.
Flash and Opeila’s expressions were like a mirror when he looked back up. Horror, dread. He didn’t know how much longer they would be able to do anything useful, but weren’t the teachers going to arrive soon? Couldn’t they try to keep things from getting worse until then? That was the only thing on Flash’s mind anymore, the rest of it had all vanished as if they had been storm clouds passing by on an otherwise bright summer day.
Vladimir wasn’t done however. Did he intend to keep hitting Willow until she passed out? He had some kind of strange fierceness in his eyes that made little sense. Between Selim, Flash, and Willow, wasn’t she the least attractive target? Even Opeila was putting up more of a threat than she was, yet his kicking feet seemed to want to attack the small, adorable blonde who had been crying for help. When Flash tried to make sense of it, nothing came to mind. It had to be something out of his grasp. Regardless though, he picked the wrong cute blonde.
Releasing Willow from his arms away from the scuffle, Flash’s only motive was to try and keep her from harm. For the moment, mosps and Vladimir were trying to harm her.

Is it too much for a girl to want to just dance the night away? Apparently it was far too extravagant of a wish for this cursed Hogwarts ball. If there was time to think about it in this moment, she would definitely wonder how a school this dangerous was allowed to be open. Is this just... all some weird type of wizard training? She'd have to ask a pureblood at some point, Astrea would probably know. For now she had to focus on the fact that there was even an issue in the first place.
The issue being... giant bugs.
Luckily her incendio went off without too much of a hitch. While the mosp didn't catch fire, it became distracted and went after her and fully missed. Dumb bugs. She heard Flash thank her for it but she didn't have time to respond as she whipped her positioning to face the mosp once more and hopefully putting more power into it this time to attempt to dispose of this one. "Incendio!" Soon after her cast, Flash pulled her into another embrace. As much as she loved hugs, this seemed to be the wrong time for it. Nevertheless, she wrapped her arms around him. Taking in the sense of calm and safety to help her to continue to not just totally lose her mind in everything that was happening. This hug seemed to be advantageous as Flash pulled her out of the way of another barreling mosp. As she pulled away from her brother, a low growl escaped her throat. "Are you kidding me!"
As she raised her wand to attempt to set the other mosp on fire, she felt a firm kick from behind her that would've knocked her to the ground if it weren't for Flash's greatest form of defense, his arms, sweeping her up once again. As she once again removed herself from Flash, she turned to find the culprit of the kick. Ah, the guy who's bag she stole. That makes sense. By the time she tuned into what he was saying, a look of confusion came over her face. 'Boyfriend...?' Was he talking about Rafa? Or Ruka? Either way neither of them were exactly boyfriend material in her eyes right now. They also had bigger things to focus on right now, literally. But, it was at this moment she realized Rafael had completely abandoned her and a pang of sadness pulled at her heart. Of course he had just been using her for whatever his end game was. She shouldn't have been so foolish as to go along with this dumb plan.
There was absolutely nothing she could do to prepare for the next moments that she seemed to watch in slow motion as Vlad was aiming to kick her again, but this time a lot higher. She had to put all of her trust that either he would fail at this, or that Flash would save her again. She would surely have to make this up to him somehow if he succeeded in pulling her out of harms way. For now, all she could do was glare at the person that was aiming to harm her for... possibly justified reasons.

Selim caught sight of the odd doll and the vial of an unidentified substance. Without second thoughts, he ignored the other objects on the surface, grabbing the two that had caught his attention and sticking them gingerly in the pockets of the kimono top tied around his waist.
He barely paid attention to his surroundings... that is, until he heard someone speak in a rather cruel tone. Carefully focusing his attention on the source, he saw Vladimir addressing to Willow. Then, the leather-clad boy attempted to kick the Hufflepuff, though she was pulled out of the ay by that boy from his dorm. Still, it seemed the third-year wasn't finished.
He let out a rather unhinged laugh that sent a chill down Selim's spine, one that reminded him of his kidnappers. Then, he seemed to go in for the attack once more.
Shaking off his stupor, Selim went back to his mission, ignoring the outbreaking fight even when some other boy tried to flirt with the third year. His pickup line almost made the pint-sized assassin cringe, but the feeling quickly disappeared.
Instead, he did what he was taught, and took the distraction his peers were providing to his advantage. He dug deeper into the bag, rushed. Scanning the contents with a critical, cold gaze.
He had no intention of helping out the Hufflepuff or his roommates, he'd owe them a favor at a later date, if he made it out of this mess alive.
Barely noticing when the lights came back on, Selim thought critically about his future actions. He'd take anything of interest.... then what? Jack was being an idiot and trying to stop Lestrange and Ryan fight, and that was the only person Selim cared to even think about helping at his own risk.
Should he offer his assistance? No... no, there was no point, the Fox could take care of himself, he'd probably even get assistance from that Gryffindor boy... what was his name again?
Anyways, his mission came first, the mission always comes first.
Otou-sama taught him that, pounded it into his brain until Selim could barely think of opposing such a rule.
If Burnett died, so be it... he... he could survive, he had experienced death before... at this point, he could hardly bring himself to care about it. It was inevitable that humans die, it just happened to some sooner rather than later.
That was fate... and fate couldn't be opposed. Some humans were simply destined to die at a young age, if one was weak, they died, that was an unchangeable fact.
It was their own fault if they didn't try and make themselves stronger, be it magically, physically, or mentally.
Weakness meant that you would die.
Selim had learned that the hard way.
So, in light of that, he decided that once he got what he wanted from his target's bag, he would grab Lestrange and run. He had to complete the mission with his companion, for his companion was the one that issued it, and he had to be there when it was finished.
If he wasn't there then the objects Selim stole were pointless trifles. The most they could do to help him was to bring Vladimir to him. Perhaps through speaking to the third-year that Selim could reach his goal of finding out what this deathtrap of a school was hiding.

Another series of events unfolded almost too quickly for Jack's mind to keep up with, but after a moment or two on the floor, the ache of his chest and ribs grounding him painfully to reality, he was able to process what had just happened.
His attempt to immobilize Thomas with the Freezing charm had utterly failed, resulting in the third year's drop kick impacting himself rather than its original intended target. That was alright, Jack thought, since his main goal had simply been to keep Erin and Thomas from hurting each other and escalating the situation any more than it already had been. It didn't matter to him whether that goal was accomplished through magical means or simply by the use of his own body as a wall. If his own injury was the price to pay, it was small; it wasn't as though he was unfamiliar with physical damage and he knew better than to allow it to affect his mental or emotional state.
Simultaneously, though, two unexpected people - Ruka and Oliver, each presumably driven by loyalty - came rushing to the aid of their respective snake associations. Ruka had tried to immobilize Erin in order to keep her from attacking Jack, who had put himself in the line of fire, as Thomas accidentally had. Oliver, however, would have none of that and deflected the second year's magic with a protective spell of his own. Again, and rather fortunately, though much more could have gone wrong in regards to the exchange of wizard attacks and escalated tensions as a result, they did not. Ruka ignored Erin and Oliver in his concern for the fallen Jack. And Oliver, though having originally hoped to shoot Ruka's own spell back at him, only succeeded in his protection of Erin.
Jack was embarrassed that he had nearly been knocked backward onto his date for the ball, but grateful when she was able to get out of his way in time. More than that, actually, she seemed to have...caught him? But why?
He barely had time to ponder the question before he heard a familiar voice calling his name with equal parts irritation and concern. By the time he turned his head, Ruka was there next to him, his wand hand patting his arm and chest lightly as he berated the younger boy. Erin, as if having been their ally all along, gave him over to Ruka, and again the Slytherin redhead had to wonder why. Was it in exchange for having taken Thomas' kick in her place? Whatever the case, it took Jack a moment to get over his bewilderment and having been stunned from the kick, pulling oxygen back into his lungs to respond to Ruka with.
"Heh...Tân," he acknowledged with a crooked smile. "Been a while. What's it look like I'm doing?" As if help him explain, the lights around the pitch were re-lit by then and he gestured vaguely toward Thomas and Erin each. "I'm trying to keep the two teens from killing each other. So far, it's been a success...more or less." His smile faltered at the pain in his chest when he moved too abruptly and he put his own palm over the spot he'd been kicked. That was going to leave a bruise in the morning...but he had worse things to worry about at present. "...Thank you, Erin," Jack told the part-veela, his face serious and his tone genuine, before returning his attention the the second year Gryffindor.
When Ruka got up to chastise the pair of older students next, Jack couldn't help but grin at the small but ferocious lion's commanding voice and warning actions. Maybe Ruka could get through to the two where he himself had failed. Or...he could...give a torch to Thomas...? What on earth...? Did they know each other? Or was Ruka simply deciding to be generous?
At the very least, Jack assumed Thomas wouldn't be stupid enough to go against his fire-giver's wishes and continue the pointless fight against Erin now that he had been given what he'd asked for. That was one less thing to worry about. Taking a minute to check his own damage, the Slytherin first year decided he was still fit enough to get back up and move about so long as he was careful regarding his chest.
Ruka then turned back to him, then, though, and Jack was almost afraid the second year was going to yell at him some more, order him to stay put, and potentially even cast a spell on him to make him comply if necessary. Instead, however, he simply offered him a hand up and asked him if he wanted some fire. The Slytherin balked at the intentionally abused version of his last name, but couldn't help grinning back. Not only was he relieved that the fire dancer wasn't going to 'ground' him, but he wanted to ease said fire dancer's worries as well.
"Yes to the fire, please. As to your other question..." Jack replied, pausing to regard Thomas as he accepted the flaming stick from the Gryffindor. The black-clad Slytherin finally seemed have realized there were more critical things to tend to than getting his petty vengeance. He stared at a dagger he'd been given - undoubtedly Selim's - and was perhaps moved to abandon his pointless fight with Erin for the time being as he asked for Ruka to follow him.
"No, I think they might actually have finally come to their senses a bit thanks to you. Thanks, Tân." He inclined his head toward Thomas. "Seems like he needs your help for whatever reason, though. Go ahead; be a good influence on him." He added a wink upon delivering that last part, partly joking but also thinking that Ruka's presence would serve as a reminder to Thomas to behave since Selim himself wasn't at his side any longer.
Thomas had addressed Erin with Jack's name, perhaps to send the message that he'd picked it up from Ruka's reference to the other redhead. The younger boy frowned briefly, but stopped as swiftly as he'd started. There wasn't really any point in keeping it a secret any longer, so what did it matter? Yes, it was slightly concerning that Thomas had first required Selim's help and then Ruka's, both of whom had significant worth to Jack. But so long as he got himself back on task and rather than getting distracted fighting Erin, Jack would leave him to whatever mission he had in mind. He was confident both Selim and Ruka could handle themselves regardless.
Unfortunately, Erin didn't seem so willing to move on from the fight as Thomas was. Jack had hoped she would cease attempting to attack once she herself was no longer being attacked, opting to get away with Oliver as soon as she was able. Instead, she told Oliver that they needed to 'restrain them', and while 'them' had Jack slightly worried, all she appeared to do was attempt to cast the Dancing Feet Spell on Thomas.
Well...that wouldn't have been so bad, would it have? It wasn't like a kick to the chest or a bash to the head. Jack himself was already taking the brief break from their little fight to head toward the supply of water provided for the students, hoping to grab another jug aside from the one Ivy had picked up earlier to poor on Anastasia. If Erin decided to take things a step farther, he would go back to try to stop her, but just then there was someone else he was more worried about coming to the aid of.
Had he been aware that once his back had turned, a particular blonde and mutual acquaintance of both Jack and Thomas had, for some reason presumably only known to herself, attempted to kick Erin in the back of her leg, the Welsh boy would have been utterly horrified. Just what the useless little spat needed - more reasons for Erin to want to stick around to smash heads as opposed to take off for safety as her companion had urged. It seemed her loyalty to Oliver would be tested in the sense of how willing she would be to follow his advice as opposed to going after those who had harmed or attempted to harm and wrong her.
Jack, however, had become nearly oblivious to these notions as the gut-wrenching screams of someone else he both owed and respected played continuously in his head. He struggled to simultaneously carry his bag slung across his shoulder, the makeshift torch given to him by Ruka held in one hand, and the water jug carried under his remaining arm to the area near the people still on fire, but it was slow going. By then, Victor had already made the attempt to put out his fire, as had Marion. But to Jack's great surprise, both of their wands and attempts at performing the Extinguishing Charm had been directed at fallen vase of flaming roses - around a hundred of them. If he'd poured water on Victor himself, did that mean it would have done no good?
Taking the hint, the Slytherin rushed to the roses next to the burning Anastasia and the girls still trying to put her out. If both Victor's and Marion's Extinguishing Charms failed to save the roses, Jack would pour his own jug of water over them in his own attempt to do so. However, if the roses were already magically extinguished by then, the redhead would turn instead to a girl crying for help herself (Maria Dee) and try to put out her fire instead.
Once the fires were safely out, Jack would gather up all the roses from the magic bouquet that he could, tending to them as carefully as if they were each small people themselves, and place them delicately into what remained of the turquoise water within the freshly up-righted vase. If he was able, the boy would switch the emptied water jug for the up-righted vase with turquoise water and flowers while continuing to keep his torch-bearing arm at a safe distance from them. For extra security, he placed the vase partway in his bag and supported it from underneath so he could use both his shoulder muscles from the bag straps and his somewhat feeble arm strength to help him bear the weight.
It wasn't far he intended to carry them anyway - only to Victor's side, where he could gently set down both bag and vase to examine the older boy's injuries and check on his well-being. He would not allow the third year to die. Not while he still owed him such a steep debt.
Action: (Apologies if this is beyond the actions allowed; I wasn't sure and didn't want to pester the mods at the time)- Accept a burning torch from Ruka (free action)
- Try to grab a remaining water jug (if possible) to put out Victor Moore's blood magic roses
OR- If the fire on the roses is already extinguished, try to put out the fire plaguing Maria Dee
- Afterwards, collect the blood magic roses and vase before bringing them to Victor and checking on him

If there was one thing Ruka took note of aside from Jack's fall due to the impact of the kick to his chest, it was the fact that the purple haired girl had actually stopped the Slytherin's fall and easily passed him on to Ruka once he'd arrived to check the other boy for injuries while scolding him with as much frustration in his voice as he possibly could.
That was good, it meant she didn't mean Jack any harm, which calmed Ruka's nerves down at least to some extend. Despite his concern, he couldn't help but meet Jack's grin with one of his own, relief smoothing out the crease in his forehead. The kick had to have hurt, movement didn't seem to come as easily as it should have, but all in all the younger boy seemed to be fine enough and not necessarily in need of immediate medical care. With that worry off his mind, Ruka gave Jack's shoulders one last pat to make sure he hadn't missed any injuries or - heaven forbid - somehow reopened slightly older wounds.
"You couldn't think of a way to do that that doesn't involve them accidentally killing you instead?" he asked, shaking his head in disapproval. While it seemed like Jack had genuinely not been target to either of the other two kids, who was to say they would have realised that they weren't hitting and kicking the intended person? Up until mere seconds ago the lights had been off and even with a torch in hand Ruka had struggled to adjust his eyes to the dim light enough to make out more than just silhouettes. However smart Jack had thought his idea to be, Ruka considered it more stupid and reckless than he had expected coming from someone who spoke of self-preservation this much.
The other boy's words echoed in his head for a moment, and Ruka cast a quick look at the two parties of the physical fight. Teens. A deliberate description that gave him one information he didn't actually know how to make any use of; Both wannabe wrestlers were older than both Jack and himself, which meant there was a good chance that they had a broader arsenal of spells than Ruka did. Maybe it wasn't the worst thing his own spell had missed the purple haired girl - Erin, Jack had called her as he expressed his gratitude to her - when he had tried to immobilise her. Who knew what kind of spells she could have shot back at him?
Still, the information didn't keep him from getting to his feet to chastise both Erin and Funeral Boy for their thoughtless actions. He had to seem ridiculous, he realised with his wand pointed at the boy in black, standing in the middle of two people who were significantly taller than him, wand in one hand, torch in another, and scolding them for their brainless brawl. Handing a torch to Funeral Boy had been something he thought to be a strategic move; he wasn't tall or strong or skilled enough to take on two teens at once, but maybe this way his gesture was taken as a sign of peace, a reassurance that he didn't actually mean any harm, had only tried to interfere for Jack's sake.
At the very least Funeral Boy had immediately pacified Ruka by pointing out that Jack hadn't been his intended target, which he had assumed anyway, but it was good to hear it confirmed.
"Like your need for some midnight wrestling isn't potentially dangerous to everyone's health?" he snarled in Erin's direction as she addressed him, gesturing his wand hand in Jack's direction to remind her of the unwanted casualty their fight had already caused.
Deciding that it wasn't worth the argument, he turned his attention back to Jack, helping him off the ground with an outstretched hand, features softening as he suppressed the urge to pull the other boy into a hug once he was off the ground and voicing his thank you and acceptance of the lit torch.
Ruka made quick work of lighting up his second to last torch on his own before handing it over to Jack with a small nod. He knew the other boy was fully capable of handling the fire, had proven so during countless shared practices before their Talent Show performance, but a part of him still didn't want to leave him to his own devices, not with so many dangers around and so many potentially stupid and life threatening ideas filling Jack's near unpredictable mind.
However, just seconds later Funeral Boy was calling out for his attention, beckoning him to follow, and Ruka let himself be distracted by him for a moment, turning his attention back to Jack as the younger boy spoke. The words sounded teasing, but Ruka thought to know the other boy well enough to know Jack wouldn't have encouraged the idea of sticking with the other kid if it wasn't in any way beneficial to everybody involved.
With slight reluctance, Ruka nodded, reaching the hand not carrying his torch out to squeeze Jack's wrist for a moment. "If you die while I'm gone," he warned, voice filled with all the ferocity he could muster. "I'm going to kill you." Not the best threat he could have probably come up with, but he was hopeful it expressed his concerns enough to make Jack consider his actions with at least slightly more care for his own health.
Letting go of Jack's wrist, Ruka took a step back and towards the black-clad boy, about to say something just as Erin spoke up, addressing his new ally as Tommy. Mocking, clearly intended to rile him up, so probably only a teasing nickname. Ruka would refrain from using it himself. At least out loud.
Turning in the direction of the girl's voice, Ruka watched in slight horror as she drew her wand, clearly gearing up for a continuation of this fight.
"Is there a reason for why girls don't seem to like you or is it just part of your charm?" he asked the boy next to him wearily. What with one girl having spilled a drink on him before, and this one clearly trying to murder him or something, Ruka found himself doubting whether it had been such a good idea to hand out blazing fire to this kid of all people. At least Tommy, however, seemed to have abandoned his longing for a fight, which was something positive in the flood of negativity surrounding them.
Ruka's attention was momentarily compromised as he startled at the sight of a familiar face, blonde hair hiding what had to be pitch black darkness residing in the depths of her mind. Persephone moved like she was above the happenings of the mortal realms, like she was unconcerned by anything but her own agenda, and that agenda seemed to be a short exchange of words with Funeral boy before she moved on to... kick Erin?
The action seemed unnecessary, random even, but Ruka knew better than to dismiss it for a momentary lapse in judgement. Much like Jack, there was usually a reason behind everything Persephone did but there was no time to piece together this particular puzzle as his new partner in crime's voice pulled his attention back to the situation at hand. Ruka frowned in slight confusion at the other boy's words, letting his gaze drift across the pitch. Despite the light that had returned, it was difficult to really make out what was happening with how much was going on; There were screams, fire, overgrown insects, people frantically trying to do something, anything to get themselves away from danger.
Out of the corner of his eye he spotted Jack, thanks to the torch he was carrying now, and Ruka breathed a sigh of relief. As many dangers as there were all across the pitch, Ruka was confident that Jack knew how to take care of himself now that he wasn't able to throw himself thoughtlessly in between a fight anymore. It also eased his worries to know the Slytherin was now equipped with a source of light - should the candles blow out once more - as well as a potential weapon that didn't require any magic to wield.
"Marion?" he repeated, silently cursing Flash for not having told him more about this mysterious plan all these snakes seemed to try to follow. He could have at least thrown in more than one name to fill Ruka in a little bit, but he was just going to have to deal with the ignorance now. When going with the flow he was sure to pick up on bits and pieces along the way.
Either way, the other boy's words seemed to have been more like an explanation for his following actions anyway, as Ruka could do nothing but watch him take a sip of what he strongly assumed to be some kind of alcohol judging by the smell piercing his nose, before pouring the contents of his flask on the ground.
It wasn't difficult to imagine what his plan was, but Ruka let himself live in blissful denial for just a little while longer until he had to take a graceful jump backwards - Years of practicing the art of Fire Dance had left him nothing but sure-footed - to make sure he wasn't in reach of the bonfire Tommy seemed intent on starting.
Lips parted in vague surprise, Ruka watched as the other boy threw first the empty flask, and then his torch towards the middle of the alcohol soaked ground.
"Not what I thought you were going to do with that," he admitted, eyes lighting up with something like terrified amusement. While breathtakingly dangerous and potentially lethal, Ruka had to admit there was something crafty about the idea of creating a literal wall of fire between them and the people trying to keep them from getting away. He sent a silent prayer to everyone who would listen for this plan to work out, just as the shout of a spell made him flinch slightly.
Wand back in one hand and torch in the other, there was nothing Ruka could think of doing to deflect the spell; He hadn't learned any shield spells yet and even if he was going to try and disarm Erin, the spell had already been fired, the damage potentially already done.
On the chance that Erin would miss, Ruka would sprint after Funeral Boy, a few steps behind him, almost as if to shield him from any more attacks. Should the spell hit and force his new ally into a dance, Ruka was prepared to counter the effects as quickly as possible, the words of the Counter Curse already at the tip of his tongue before he even knew if he was going to need it or not.

Secret Blossom Ball
”Well... that’s done with.” Charlie half-frowned, slowing the broom to a stop as he watched the boy fling off into the distance screaming “hasta la pasta.” What did that even mean? He blinked a few times and took a deep breath to steady himself, releasing the dizzy sensation from their little spin trip, and looked over his shoulder to the girl, who was clinging to him as if the world was ending. ”I’m sorry, are you okay? I shoulda warned you a little better...” There was a genuine, if not a little strained, concern in his voice. Really, he was trying to ignore all the chaos below them and focus on her and their current objective: which he assumed was getting the hell out of there.
Until the buzzing entered his core thoughts, and he looked over his shoulder to see one of the Mosps, except this one didn’t seem murderous, it just seemed a little lazy, as it slowly floated over to them. Oh, his weakness, dangerous looking animals.
At first he wasn’t sure what to make of it, but as it approached, he couldn’t help but be rather entranced by its slowly, bobbing movements and swaying.
Was this love?
He was still rather tired, and wanted out of this situation (seeing as it was becoming progressively more dangerous by the minute as children were, quite frankly, burning.) but this mosp- something about it was just, endearing. Could a mosp be tamed? Could he... well, he could try. Maybe if he successfully captured it, he could figure it out? But what could he use to catch it? All he had was this broom... his wand, and his clothes, (plus the gryffindor girl he’d come to know in tow.) He could use his sweater, perhaps.
”I’m gonna catch that mosp.” he announced to the girl in tow, Miss Decipio. “It’s speaking to me... I’ll catch it, then we’ll go to the castle, out of this massive shit show.” His words became a little gritted, and he tightened his thighs around the broom as he let go, reaching for the hem of his large sweater to pull it off, leaving only the white undershirt, in the form of a tank, underneath-
Except he accidentally hooked his undershirt off too, and in one fell swoop, he’d take both off to make for a makeshift net, with 2 layers, instead of the 1 he’d proposed to himself.
Although, he was a little too focused on catching the large bug to fully realise he was now partially bare, and nearly forgot he’d just done it in front of a girl he knew, and kissed, and this was surely awkward for her as well- but that didn’t matter if a really cool bug pet came out of it, right?
His mind raced a little too hard with everything going on, and the smell of burning, cold night air, and lavender filled his mind, grasping to the bottom hemming of his sweater and undershirt like a net, ready to pull it over the mosp as they slowly, carefully approached the bug. “Hey there, little buddy, you seem a little sleepy?” he coaxed gently. “I’m Charlie, nice to meet you, what if I could get you nice and warm, all bundled up and safe?” he felt a little ridiculous talking to the bug, but you could never be too careful with magical creatures.
Then, as his slow approach brought him close enough, he lunged forward quickly, attempting to slide the bug into the massive sweater and the tighter inner-net, pulling the mass close to him as he did so, hoping that the sweater was enough to capture his wings and stinger, leaving him bundled up tightly in his arms.Interacting with - @Evelynn Decipio , mentioning @Piérre Marchonné

Secret Blossom Ball
Open to Interaction
Hasta la-- what? Did he just… Evelynn peered off into the darkness scrutinizing the silhouette of the boy that quickly faded into the background darkness that enveloped his retreating form. Ever since she had met him, Marchonne had been a little bit of an eccentric individual -- she'd never had any notions against that -- yet he always seemed to find some way to catch her off guard with his mannerisms. He was just so…carefree. It was unusual.
But no time for that.
A splitting shriek cut through the darkness and Evelynn swiveled her head around, very nearly kinking her neck in the process, to set wide eyes upon a scene that had quickly regressed beyond anything she could have imagined of this night. If she had thought it to be chaos into which the inhabitants of the pitch had broken prior to her taking to the air, it was nothing to the madness that met her gaze now. Screams echoed off the surrounding stands, in contest with the general backdrop of periodically chocked sobs and shouts of desperation. Lights of spells continued to flash back and forth as their streaks illuminated only snippets of the battle that waged below.
Theirs wasn't the only light, however. Evelynn quickly honed in on the source of the screaming. A great blaze of flickering red and gold that reminded her of the infernos they had set upon a pair of flags not too many moons earlier. Only these.. These did not move in the wind with any snap and waver of curling fibers. These flames were grotesquely humanoid in shape. And the smell that wafted up on the breeze to meet her nares shortly thereafter churned her stomach. It was good that her partner had since steadied the broom, otherwise she very well might have had an encore of that night's supper. As it was, her throat parched immediately, the growing flames reflecting in the whites of her eyes as she watched on in horror for half a second before acting.
ACTION: If either Ana or Victor fail to be extinguished…
"Extinguo!" came the choked out incantation, still enunciated enough to cast (hopefully), but uttered in barely more than a whisper. As though the redhead feared that should she speak too harshly, her very voice would fan the blaze and heat the flames to hasten the demise and heighten what could only be excruciating pain of those caught within their embrace. Who exactly it was that she targeted, she couldn’t be certain. Really, she didn't know who they were in the first place. Not that it mattered. They both needed to be doused immediately.Just like last time, however, any further assessment of the situation was hastily cut short as a buzzing much nearer to her forced her to avert her gaze to a mosp drawing nearer to her and her airborne escort. With a shot of adrenaline, her free hand tightened all the stronger around Woodward. It was several seconds before she determined that they wouldn't immediately have to dodge an incoming stinger and she could spare a glance to her team mate. Who… was apparently enthralled by the creature? Brows furrowed initially with skepticism. Skepticism that quickly turned to confusion as she noticed the almost hungry gleam in the boy's eye, and then fast to horror as the curly blonde began to do the last thing she ever could have thought would happen.ACTION: If Victor and And are both saved from continued burning by the intervention of others…
"Exti--" Evelynn cut herself off just as either blaze began to wane and fade from existence. The sudden loss of sight on those trapped within to fade into the surrounding darkness could only mean one thing. Someone -- or someones, perhaps -- had put them out. The rest of her breath let out in a low sigh of relief, and the young Gryffindor became almost painfully aware of just how tightly she had been gripping her wand at the grim sight. "Thank goodness…" she uttered under her breath to no one in particular, but silently praising whoever it was that had been so quick on the take to extricate the two of them.
In the absence of that flickering light that drew her attention and seemed to overshadow all other activity nearby, Evelynn's gaze instead drew to the spotlight cast by someone's [Opeila's] wand. There, Evelynn could barely make out Flash finally having reached and tending to Anderson (both of whom she recognized more so by the colour and style of garb than by facial recognition). They were far from alone, however. Not only were there others nearby to them, but they had evidently not escaped their mospy pursuers. Indignation flashed through Evelynn's veins. Had her spell… missed? Had she not knocked the mosp of Flash's trail? Talons of her mind's creation closed around her belly at the thought of failing her ally when he needed her most. Still. STILL her magic wasn't good enough. When she most needed it.
Forcefully swallowing away pervasive thoughts of insufficiency, she gripped her wand and lofted it anew in the direction of he was supposed to have been her date. "Flipendo!" she chanted out firmly yet again, once again willing to see the angry buzzer meet a hasty end. Not that she had any idea of just how durable these little buggers were.
"What are you doing?" Evelynn cried out in alarm as her arm lost purchase from around his middle, hand still gripping the clothing that had just been pulled up and off his torso.
And then she stared wide-eyed and silent. Like a doe caught in lamplight. At the half-naked boy who sat in uncomfortably close proximity. Had she not been seated on a broom at least thirty feet up in the air, she would have scrambled backwards and averted her eyes from the scandalous image of a mostly naked peer. Here, though, she was trapped. She still averted her gaze, however, a fresh wave of heat rapidly climbing up her neck as his flesh practically reflected any nearby light sources. To make matters worse, it was as though his reveal was some sort of God-send, as the candles floating about them began to flicker back to life to ensure every facet of his overly-bold self would leave nothing to the imagination.
"Woodward!" Evelynn bemoaned, the forearm of her wand arm hastily raised to shield her eyes from the unseemly vision, "H-have you gone m-mad?! You can't possibly be doing what I think you're about to do!"
He wasn't… right? There was only two things she could possibly think of that would require dressing down in such a fashion: one, the use of his shirt to transform him into some sort of aerial torero; or two, to use it as some sort of makeshift net to catch the blighted monster. Neither of those were things she wanted to be a part of! But… there was no escaping it. Not unless she wanted to make a painful, and no doubt styless fall to what would undoubtedly be a painful landing. One she had no intention of experiencing until a bludger eventually forced it of her in a Quidditch match. She could feel them flying. Could hear the buzzing getting closer. And closer.
A sudden shift in balance forced her to reach forward with her free hand. Palm touched skin of what she could only assume was his shoulder. She almost wanted to cry with just how much it made her squirm, her hand recoiling as quick as though she had just been scalded. Instead, it dropped hastily to anchor around the handle at the base of her seat, her own thighs clamping tightly around the broomshaft. Lids continue to press firmly closed. She couldn't look. This…what he was doing…it was a fool's errand. He was going to anger the thing and set it on the pair of them.
She just… couldn't.

Secret Blossom Ball
It was too late. She was charging Marion too quickly to evade the incoming spell. Upon impact, her limb snapped together, her body stiffened, and she fell to the ground.
There was something terrifying about losing control. It had been one of her deepest fears for many years. It was important to her that she plan her life out, so that she knew what to expect. But that was not the worst part of the fear. What was truly traumatizing to ponder was the idea of losing physical control of her body against her will. The day she had her first real experience that indicated she was following her mothers footsteps as a Seer was the day she and her friend came close to becoming the victim of a serial child abductor and murderer. Had she ignored her gut feelings, they could have also been captured, assaulted against their will, unable to fight him off, and murdered. That loss of control over her own abilities causes shudders to go down her spine each time she recalls the day. When the spell hit her and her body stiffened, fear overtook her mind. She did not fear for her life after the spider attack and bites despite the pain. She did not fear having to take a potion weekly to ensure the curse did not spread. In that precise moment though, her demons came to consume her. Panic set in, her chest vibrating as her small heart raced inside her chest cavity mimicking the flittering of a hummingbirds wings. The saving grace was that she fell backwards, avoiding smashing her face into the floor. Lying on her back, she began to hyperventilate like many times in the past when she had experienced sleep paralysis. Unlike those instances however, she was unable to come out of the petrified state without the aid of another.
In her limited view, the world flashed before her. Resulting from the panic, she watched her demons rising up from the ground to stand over her. She caught flickers of the commotion around her. She could not see all that was going, and did not realize yet that Arlo had tore the bag from Thora, that Thora herself had left, and that the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain had arrived to fight for the bag. Succumbing to her demons and the darkness surrounding her, realization struck. If Marion was going to continue to be a persistent, petty, weak-minded puppet of others without listening to reason, then it was long past time of reasoning with such an imbecile.
As she was contemplating the many ways to seriously maim or injure Marion upon release from her bonds, she overheard faintly the sound of another spell being cast. She was not familiar with this spell, but should it be directed at her to release her from the dark embrace of her demons and succeed, Marion was going to pay. Should it fail, she would continue to welcome the darkness into her, fueling her anger and bloodlust.

Secret Blossom Ball
This is a Moderation Post
The FiresNote: Disadvantage on a DC 15 check to find items at the ball (utensils, jugs, and ice buckets) that were not mentioned/described in a moderation post.
The Bags@Anastasia Beckett's screams were an obvious call for help. She writhed on the ground, helpless and in excruciating pain while the tulle of her dress acted like fuel for the fire engulfing her. @Astrea Soleil Neptune would be one of the first to act, considering she had been right there when the girl had ignited. She was clearly horrified by the situation, but she did not hesitate to flourish her wand.
"Extinguo!"
Astrea's voice was not alone in the incantation. Several other students from all over the Quidditch Pitch had rushed to the princess' aid, wanting to put an end to her suffering. @Dealla Prince had only just arrived and found the the ball in chaos, but her first action was to aid this poor fireball. @Thora Larkston had abandoned her bid for a valuable bag in order to help. And @Evelynn Decipio had heard the screams from high up in the air, and pointed her wand down on the scene. Although only three of the casts were successful, they all landed on the burning girl with gusto. For a moment, and only a moment, the fire ceased! It looked like they had been successful!
Then - as quickly as it had gone out - the fire resumed. It engulfed the girl's skin once more, burning bright and hot and unaffected by the magic.
Two girls, @Amara Dragamior and @Ivy Bellamy, had the idea to manually extinguish the flames with water! Unable to find a huge source of water, they would both return to the scene with goblets instead. Perhaps working together, four goblets of water might turn the tide against the flames! Alas, they poured the water onto Anastasia and saw the same effect. The water put out the flames wherever they touched, but the flame merely reignited immediately after.
Amara noticed in this moment that the girl she was trying to help was the same girl who had punched her friend Gem. Shocked by this sudden realization, she would drop the empty goblets (internally hoping it would fall onto Anastasia) only to realize that she had forgotten to aim. The heavy goblets landed squarely on her feet, causing 10 damage to herself.
Because she had not been put out, and she continued to flail on the ground, fire had begun to spread to the grass around Anastasia.
@Victor Moore immediately knew the reason behind being engulfed in flames. His eyes sought the vase of flowers and saw that they were on fire. Through the excruciating pain, he made his way towards Anastasia and her saviors (meanwhile, no one had even attempted to aid him). When he finally reached the flowers, he was joined by @Jack Burnett, who had brought a single goblet of water, his other hand holding a torch. Clearly, he was trying to help Victor in whatever he was doing. Victor cast extinguo as best he could through the pain of being burned alive. At the same time, Jack was pouring water on the roses, but considering there were a hundred of them, only a few were put out. As Victor's spell hit the roses, though, it seemed the pain had overcome him and he'd fumbled the spell. Rather than putting them out, he merely reignited the roses that Jack had managed to extinguish with water. The reignition amplified the fire, causing a new round of pain and critical damage for this round.EXTINGUO ON ANASTASIA

In a bid to end the fighting, @Ruka Tân had appeared and began offering out torches to both Thomas and Jack, the latter of whom took his torch to go aid Victor (mentioned earlier). Although Thomas also tried to leave with his new torch, Erin's decision to keep fighting kept him in the area. He dumped some alcohol onto the pitch, and threw the torch he had been given into it. At the same time, @Persephone Barret had suddenly appeared beside Erin and tried to kick her. The part-Veela easily evaded the attack, and she turned her eyes back on her prey. Despite Thomas successfully igniting a small wall of flames between himself and Erin, she was still able to cast her spell at the boy through the fire.Anastasia Beckett and Victor Moore take 50 100 damage from being on fire
"Tarantallegra!"
The boy was hit! He immediately began to do a jig, despite there being no music around. That had stopped long ago when the lights first went out. Luckily for Thomas, it seemed that (next round) Ruka might be willing to free him from the jinx.

LASTS 2 ROUNDS
Poor @Maria Dee was not actively on fire, but she was burned and hurt, hence her calling for help (but unfortunately receiving no reply).
The SwarmLight had been restored to the ball, and the event was in chaos. Over on the dance floor, though, there was one person who was on a mission and refused to succumb to any distractions. @Selim Faust had chosen to open Vladimir's bag, becoming privy to its contents. He pocketed two of the items in the bag and searched through the rest of it in a hurry, determined to find anything else of note:
Reducio1 set of school clothes
1 large, soft-ball sized phial filled with an unknown substance (taken by Selim Faust)
3 empty mason jars
1 doll that vaguely resembles Marion Davenport (taken by Selim Faust)
1 blanket, plaid. One side flannel, the other a plastic-like
UNDER THE BLANKET:
1 floating candle, unlit
1 locksmithing knife
2 more large, soft-ball sized phials filled with an unknown substance
6 more empty mason jars
1 doll that vaguely resembles Vladimir Athanatos
1 doll that vaguely resembles Victor Moore
Still enraged by the fact that @Willow Anderson had tried to steal it in the first place, @Vladimir Athanatos continued to attack her. Several things were happening at once, and everyone's actions were leading to chaos: @Opeila Seilun, horrified by her date's attack against her friend, attempted to kick him. She failed miserably as Vlad got his roundhouse kick in first, his foot connecting squarely with @Flash Holmwood and dealing 200 damage. The boy had stepped in front of Willow trying to push her out of the way, only to be victim to the attack himself. He landed on his butt dazed and confused, his arms supporting him from behind. As he sat there, he was kicked in the head once more, this time by the kick that had missed Vladimir. Opeila's kick knocked poor Flash's head to the ground and dealt 80 damage.
Despite the violence, a boy suddenly appeared at the corner of Vladimir's vision and spoke. "You must be a campfire. Because you're super hot and I want s'more." It seemed that @Percival Rainwood was trying to get Vladimir's attention, although most would question his sanity at choosing this moment to do so.
Over by the stands, Victor's bag was still being fought over rather than opened. @Bridget Collins chose to forego her attempt at the bag, wanting to unpetrify her ally in this scuffle. She successfully cast the counter charm to Marion's petrification of @Tyranni Whitethorn. The girl on the ground would now be able to move again.Flash Accuracy Roll: 21 vs Vladimir Accuracy Roll: 23

As for @Marion Davenport herself, she was distracted by the fact that her friend Victor was still on fire! She would rush off with an apology to Arlo, intent on helping the owner of the bag rather than keeping the bag itself safe. "Extinguo!" Despite the cast being successful and hitting its target, Victor would unfortunately stay aflame. Magic didn't seem to be the answer to his problem.
Back at Victor's bag, @Arlo Reynolds would be the only one left to protect it. @Rafael D'Spacito had abandoned his friend Anastasia - yes, the girl who is literally burning alive - to come here and steal the bag away. The Gryffindor Quidditch Captain looked positively lethal in that moment. Seeing him approach, Arlo would quickly realize there was no point in trying to keep the bag away from him. His only option at this point was offense. So the first year stood tall on his two feet and jumped, extending his pointer finger and successfully poking the boy in his good eye (5 damage). It didn't seem that this would stop the boy, though, and with his (>5) strength, Rafael would easily lift the bag and gain possession.

Fifth mospSixth mospThis red mosp was stuck in the floor tiles, and could not evade the jet of fire that was cast by Willow. It would take another devastating 110 damage, leaving it looking crispy. At last it would wrench itself free from the floor tiles, buzzing pitifully as it lifted into the air. Its creepy yellow eyes were focused on the blonde, determined to use its next action to finish her off.Willow Auto Hit (90+) Calming: 58
Willow Wisdom Roll: 20 (to cast Incendio)Seventh mospThis huge purple mosp was extremely content in the LGBTQIAP box by the entrance. Its proboscis was having a blast testing all the scents of the different flowers. Unluckily for the mosp, it had no idea there was a child behind a table with the beast in his sights. @Percival Gray had decided to grab some plates from a nearby table, and chucked one right at the mosp. With its attention fully occupied, the mosp had no way of dodging and was dealt 20 damage from the plate smashing into it. The mosp would raise into the air angrily, searching for the source. Unable to find it, the purple mosp would now buzz angrily by the entrance, indicating that maybe those who tried to leave would not be able to do so easily now.Percival Wisdom Roll: 20 11 (to find a knife at a ball with no utensils)
FAIL - grabbed plates instead
Percival Accuracy Roll: 16
Does the Mosp notice Percival? 2 - NOEighth mospThis mosp watched from above as a girl ( @Lizzie Verdine ) appeared from under a table to help its latest victim ( @Mildred Wilson ). Although the purple mosp would not have attacked again if left alone, the girl Lizzie decided to chuck something at it again. The mosp was prepared this time and flew out of the way, then diving with stingers outstretched to retaliate. Lizzie dodged out of the way in time, and Mildred took the opportunity to chuck her earring straight at the mosp. Her earring pierced the mosp directly in the eye (4 8 damage), and she managed to crawl under a table and out of sight before the mosp could locate the source. The enraged mosp buzzed around with slightly lowered accuracy, wanting to retaliate but not able to see the source. The only one in the open still was Lizzie, so it turned its good eye back onto her.Lizzie Accuracy Roll: 10 vs Mosp Evasion Roll: 19

Mildred Accuracy Roll: 26 (natural 20) vs Mosp Evasion Roll: 8Ninth mospIt seemed that @Ethen Emrys was determined to cover the mosp in icing. He found some nice lemony cupcakes and picked up a mountain of them, aiming to chuck the lot at the mosp. Burdened by the number of them, though, his aim was off and the mosp dodged the sugary treats. Atlas' spell cast was on target, hitting the mosp and very briefly robbing it of its sense of direction. However, the levitation charm is only meant for non-living things and the mosp easily broke free of the spell. Thinking it had been attacked by the girl's spell, it would dive for her. @Atlas Reid was able to nimbly dodge out of the way, though. The mosp did a roundabout, determined to make contact with a target in the next round.Ethen Wisdom Roll: 20 8 (disadvantage to find a giant cake at a ball with only finger food)

Mosp Accuracy Roll: 5 vs Atlas Evasion Roll: 24Tenth mosp@Aaron Jones was once again disappointed when he swung the music stand and met nothing in the air. This red mosp flew right by him and towards @@Lydia Cooper, who (once again) dodged out of the way of its stingers. It seemed the blue-haired beauty was determined to not be a victim today.Aaron Accuracy Roll: 15 vs Mosp Evasion Roll: 20
Mosp Accuracy Roll: 17 vs Lydia Evasion Roll: 19Eleventh mosp@Katrina Walker aimed her wand at the mosp and successfully cast fumos, but the spell didn't seem to work the way she thought it did. Smoke began to pour from the tip of her wand, and it was beginning to cover the ground of the pitch. The smoke wouldn't stop until it enveloped the entire pitch, but it was slow going and only began to cover herself and her friends for now. @River Dewlight, in an attempt to distract the mosp from attacking Katrina again, produced some flowers and threw them in front of the creature. They arced right in front of the red mosp, and its proboscis flailed. Something about these flowers was particularly attractive. The mosp flew after them, landing on the ground where the flowers were.Katrina Wisdom Roll: 24 (to cast fumos) | SUCCESS - 3 rounds
River Strength Roll: 14 (to throw flowers)
Is the mosp distracted? 1 - YESTwelfth mospThis bulbous red mosp hovered over the dance floor, watching as a fragrant-haired girl aimed a jet of fire at its defenseless ally. Enraged by this action, it would target the blonde with both stingers outstretched. Willow Anderson would surely be surprised when two stingers entered her leg from behind, depositing enough venom to really burn. As the mosp retreated back into the air, it would leave a gaping wound with blood and a whopping 155 damage. Perhaps this is what she deserved for stealing the dice roller's date.Mosp Accuracy Roll: 12 vs Willow Evasion Roll: 8Thirteenth mospThis mosp was agitated, perhaps because the boy it had attacked (@Dale Kurt) was just sitting there (didn't post), or perhaps because it had not located the source of the smell yet. Was it really coming from the boy? The mosp needed to double check and it went in for another strike. At the last moment, Dale seemed to rouse from his stupor and dodge out of the way, leaving his seat entirely. The mosp's stingers collided with the chair Dale had been sitting in. It could've been a deadly strike if the second year hadn't moved.Mosp Accuracy Roll: 13 vs Dale Evasion Roll: 18Fourteenth mospIt seemed that @Hanako Tone was quite upset that his friends had come to his rescue. He made a big scene of rejecting their help and then waving his wand in the direction of the red mosp that had almost attacked him. Unfortunately for him, it seemed his words had failed him after the tantrum, and no spell was cast.
@Adam Harringtom however, was locked in a duel with the beast. He wanted the first years to get to safety, not join him in his fight! He cast a spell at the beast and successfully cut its eye, rendering the organ useless and the beast's accuracy reduced. Enraged and damaged by 90, the mosp still managed to successfully crash into Adam again, but the third year was incredibly lucky. Once again, another cut in his pants and another scratch on his leg, but no lingering effects from the 14 damage.Hanako Tone spell cast auto-failed (spell not in trunk & no ency update request to prove homework completion)
Adam Accuracy Roll: 26 vs Mosp Evasion Roll: 13
Mosp Accuracy Roll: 16 vs Adam Evasion Roll: 10Fifteenth mosp PhilipeThis mosp was incredibly attracted to the blue-haired girl (Lydia Cooper) and her fragrant smell, so it continued to attack in an effort to get what it wanted. It launched itself at the first year girl, but Lydia was on guard a freaking ninja and dodged her fourth attack of the night. Could anything touch her?Mosp Accuracy Roll: 16 vs Lydia Evasion Roll: 21Sixteenth mospPhilipe was straight vibing still in the air by @Evelynn Decipio and @Charlie Woodward. The mosp was not in a hurry to attack or show any sign of agression, seeming merely curious about the two humans flying on a broom in the air. When the boy spoke, encouraging it to come closer, it did so.
Charlie successfully captured the lazy beast in his shirt, but the unfamiliar sensation of being surrounded on all sides promptly made Philipe freak out. His stingers cut through the shirt in an attempt to sting Charlie, but the wizard had a good enough hold on the bundle that he prevented it from piercing. Now Charlie held the bundled Philipe, who was clearly unhappy with the current predicament but was unable to escape (yet).
Charlie Accuracy Roll: 26 vs Philipe Evasion Roll: 20
Does Philipe become hostile/scared (50+)? YES (52)
Philipe Accuracy Roll: 8 vs Charlie Evasion Roll: 24Twenty-first mospThis mosp had landed on the ground by @Vincent d'Arque chasing after a boutonierre. Vincent, noticing its fascination with the bunch of flowers, would remove his own and toss it a little ways away so he could make his escape. The mosp took the bait and stayed on the ground, probing the boutonierres with its proboscis.Twenty-third mospThis purple mosp, seeing the fire that had sprouted nearby (caused by Thomas Lestrange) would go back up into the air and look for a new table of bouquets to bother. It would find itself on top of the table that @Percival Gray was hiding behind. It would take notice of the boy, but would keep its attention on the flowers on the table, its proboscis touching the petals of one. This new arrival to the scene was huge and red and looking for trouble. It would be drawn to a group over by the stands as they fought over a bag. There was something fragrant down below (Rafael D'Spacito) and it was determined to find out what. It would make itself known to the group as it approached, buzzing loudly and appearing in the renewed light of the ball.
The Call for Help!
Professors are welcome to post towards the end of this round (starting Friday, 5/29).There were fireworks setup by the organizers of the ball (specifically Atlas Reid, aided by her friend Ethen Emrys), hidden behind the stage. They were meant to be a spectacular sight to end the night as students scurried back home to their dormitories. However, as a precaution, a few specially-marked fireworks had been loaded with Periculum. These are the fireworks that @Lydia Cooper used her action to light now. Using the matches beside them, she successfully lit the ends of the signal flares and sent two massive Periculum flares into the air. They were bigger than students were normally capable of on their own (several of the charms were packed into each firework) and they were loud. A whistle as they launched into the air, and a boom as they exploded at the height of their arc.
The following would have drawn you out:
- The Periculum and Verdimillious from a couple rounds ago
- Piérre Marchonné arriving at the castle and shouting for help last round
- Several students making their way to the ball dressed up (at least 5 students did this)
- The massive periculum flares that just went off

The next moderation post will take place in one week (6/1).
If interacting with a mosp, please clarify which one.
Note: Professors will be arriving at the end of this round and the beginning of next round. Now is your last chance to escape their wrath![]()
Note: If you are currently engaged with a mosp, your movement to another area (thread) will be considered an attempt (meaning you cannot post in another thread until a mod post says you were successful in escaping).
