MIRROR
Naiane is slightly tall for her age, standing at five feet and two inches. Embracing sunlight has bestowed a warm glow upon her tawny complexion. Her sleek, ebony hair falls to her shoulders, curling ever so slightly at the ends. Her dark irises are akin to a starless night; devoid of life.
Mannerisms.

ORIGINS
OKINAWA, JAPAN
Naiane was born on the first wintry eve of the year. With her arrival came nightly winds that devoured all warmth, much like the girl herself. Six years of her life were spent in. Her mother struggle to integrated into the community. Izaura hailed from Brazil and often displayed symptoms of homesickness and loneliness that Naiane did not fully understand. Although Izaura did her best to endure hardships for her daughter’s sake, she struggled to tolerate the whispers about her daughter. One particular incident left her horrified and brewed tension between her parents that culminated in a heated argument over what was best for Naiane’s upbringing. In the end, Izaura requested a divorce from her father. Despite his initial protests, Tatsuya relented after acknowledging that he was not the best option to raise her. This incident deeply upset Naiane, for her entire world came crumbling down in an instant, and she was pulled away from the place she once called home.
PARANÁ, BRAZIL
Naiane and her mother moved to Assaí. There, Izaura dedicated herself to activism by writing various wizarding articles on the protection of magical creatures and founding a non-profit organisation dedicated to their conservation. Shortly after, her mother remarried a muggleborn and Naiane gained two siblings; a step-brother and a half-sister. Although their presence relieved her of loneliness, it marked the moment she began shouldering great responsibility. Naiane often visited her maternal grandparents, who were retired hunters tending to their own land. They began teaching her familial values that were a melange of Brazilian and Japanese culture. Paraná soon became a second home to her and the rest of her childhood was filled with mostly happy moments, aside from the occasional sibling squabble. However, she would always miss her father and Okinawa dearly.

FIRST INSTANCE OF MAGIC
Nine-year-old Naiane accompanied her family on a scenic hike. They stopped near a waterfall where they planned to swim. For a moment, her mother and step-parent were preoccupied with the youngest child, who had fallen over. Naiane was briefly tasked with ‘keeping an eye’ on her step-brother, but they were not in any immediate danger. Soon, a heated argument began. As they neared the edge of the water, Naiane angrily pushed a float into him. Her strength was greatly miscalculated, and her step-brother slipped into the water below. Upon seeing him kick around and struggle to stay afloat, Naiane instinctively jumped in and swam after him. Though she was not skilled enough to save them both, she managed to push the float to her step-sibling, who grabbed on before Naiane plunged underwater. Noticing the commotion, Naiane’s step-parent dove in after them. It almost seemed too late for her by the time she was reached, but by some miracle, she was still conscious. Although both children were safe after this, her step-brother often glimpsed at her with fear in his eyes after that day.

REPOSITORY
WAND
Nearly thirty-three centimetres long, carved from acacia wood and bound to a phoenix feather core. Slightly bendy, yet very resistant. This peculiar wand is incredibly fussy, but after choosing Naiane, it often refuses to produce magic for anyone else. Even then, it requires great effort from her to unleash its true potential. Though tricky to handle, this wand performs well for the one it has deemed worthy. With a preference for delicate wandwork over flamboyance, its spells are muted; a clear reflection of its modest owner. However, she must be wary; this finicky wand has no tolerance for laziness will often display displeasure with a subpar spellcasting.

LINEAGE
| ------- | IZAURA ANACLETO BALTAZAR | MOTHER A pureblood witch whose lineage traces back to creature hunters. Eager to learn more about other magical communities and their connection to nature, Izaura began exploring magical forests around the world. One day, she was wounded during an exploration. Whilst on the verge of collapse, a benevolent creature emerged from the woods and soothed her with its presence until help arrived. Not long after, Izaura learnt that the creature had been slain by poachers. This incident left her her devastated and after this, she began contemplating her path and eventually swore to dedicate herself to the protection and conservation of magical creatures and plants. |
aaaaaa | TOMARI TATSUYA | FATHER A half-blood wizard, one of the few from his family line as he was born from an affair with a squib. Tatsuya never possessed any talent for divination and steered clear from the family business. Over the years, he has travelled over the country to take on several odd jobs to save enough money and fulfil his dream of exploring the rest of the wizarding world. Although he enjoyed the years he spent as an explorer, Tatsuya retired from this profession after his divorce and now runs a modest magical antiques shop. |

| ------- | TOMARI CLAN Based in Kunigami, Okinawa. Currently led by Naiane's grandmother. Shamans who specialise in divination and devote their services to promoting the longevity and fortune of their community and other wizarding families. Although their name holds weight within the wizarding world, they are slowly losing influence due to their strict code of conduct. The family oath currently prevents them from interfering with large-scale events, but some within the clan seek to subvert this for profit as times become more dire.
BALTAZAR HUNTERS Based in Faxinal, Paraná. Forest-dwelling wizards who became creature hunters to defend their community and assist with population control. Believes that one should never take more than what is needed, or the forest guardians will punish them. Their practice has been deeply affected by the commercial hunters and poachers within the last century.
ANACLETO RANCHERS Based in Faxinal, Paraná. Agrarian wizards who herd livestock near an Araucaria forest. Descended from migrant workers who integrated into the local community. They hold similar beliefs as the Baltazar hunters. Often trades and exports their produce to other communities.
