Magnus was genuinely starting to hate being here at Hogwarts, between this stupid warm climate which granted Magnus got to explore with Vasilius and see all of the amazing colorful flowers and different animals it also meant allergies something he genuinely didn’t know he had. He assumed that the change in climate as well as the pollen activated his allergies which laid dormant for years. It had him awake at night and made it harder for him to sleep, granted he wouldn’t sleep anyway so he figured he would go for an evening stroll around Hogwarts to get a change of scenery as well as to explore a bit.

As he slowly got out of his bed he made sure he wouldn’t wake Jarden, Rafael or Jasper but most importantly Vasilius. Speaking of Vasilius he stopped in his tracks as he looked down at him sleeping peacefully, Magnus was thinking about writing a note for him in case he woke up and he hadn’t made it back yet but he knew that probably would not be the case. He put on his black combat boots as well as his mahagony jacket before walking out of the group tent and going for a nightly stroll.

As he walked around he noticed another figure coming out of another tent but they didn’t seem to be just doing a nightly stroll but instead seemed to be sneaking off somewhere, Magnus would never resist a little adventure so odd he went trailing slowly behind this person. It hadn’t even clicked for Magnus that he wasn’t wearing his eye contacts yet so his red eyes were on display but he always had excuses ready to go if needed so he wouldn’t have to worry If anyone one got too nosey and kept asking questions.

He continued after the person now seeing their form clearer he couldn’t really tell if it was a boy with just really long hair or a girl, he needed a closer look. As he continued towards them the moonlight shine down across their frame revealing they had a masculine build which told Magnus this was a guy. He was debating in his head should he speak to the guy or point out how if they were trying to be sneaky how they were doing a terrible job at it. Magnus decided the second option sounded more fun and Called out to him.

“Yo! Pretty boy, you do know if you’re going to sneak off may wanna be a bit stealthier you know ?” As he spoke his tease lacked the normal hostile or aggressive tone he usually spoke with and instead seems more playful and light hearted like he didn’t mean a single word he said in a hostile way. He mostly didn’t mean the pretty boy line as the guy was pretty but Magnus knew someone much more prettier who he was thinking of.

Being Sneaky, Ain’t Easy

AT HOGWARTS GROUNDS WITH @Magnus Blackwood
FIFTHEENTH APRIL, 2026
Attending the ball had, in hindsight, been an even worse decision than Ilias had suspected; something he’d known the moment he frowned at himself in the mirror that afternoon. The boy hadn’t needed to search particularly deep down to know, in his progressively less sane consciousness, that he would regret it. The ball itself had been only half as bad, regardless of the fire incident that had broken out, the real issue being the constant reminder that he was in a strange, huge castle, yet full to the brim with other students, where Ilias couldn’t remember a single instance since the morning when he’d spent some time to himself. Under the cover of his duvet.

Going back to sleep at the end of the night seemed like a fast-track to having to endure another day. Normally, he would have tried to escape the dreams that inevitably followed him once his head hit the pillow, but even those had decided that Hogwarts was too exhausting.

His head had been unusually quiet.

Ilias never thought he’d admit it, but he wanted to go back to Ilvermorny. At least there, he knew the place by heart. Even the dreams of scary nature would have been comforting among the unknown. Once the clock struck midnight, he had left the camping grounds to finally regain some of his control. He didn’t assume he’d find any climbing spots around here, so he didn’t bring his climbing shoes, even if they were in the light baggage he’d brought for the trip. He just needed some fresh air.

Entering into the slightly chilly spring night and walking across the patch of grass, Ilias regretted not bringing a jacket. Too determined to turn back to fetch one, he gritted his teeth and continued, arms wrapped around himself, albeit silently promising himself that his escapades would be short. And even shorter than that, as not more than half-across the ground to… somewhere, a voice shouted after him.

“Yo! Pretty boy, you do know if you’re going to sneak off you may wanna be a bit stealthier you know ?”

Ilias halted in his tracks, his shoulders drawn up to his ears; the temperature suddenly felt like a hundred degrees cooler.

Fuck, he thought with an internal groan. Not again.

Regarding the comment masked as a compliment, he didn’t believe it, of course. With bewildered disgust curling his upper lip, Ilias whipped around to stare at his stalker, half-expecting it to be one of the annoying Ilvermorny jocks, if the accent hadn’t been the furthest from American. Nevertheless, the boy’s presence was not welcome, evident in his unamused glare that he fixed on the older boy. Even more so when he had the moment to take him in properly: a curly, untamed bird’s nest of hair sat atop some blonde guy with a teasing glint in his eyes—something between amusement and provocation, if Ilias had to name it—who had, for some reason, decided to follow him and tease him about his escapades. Objectively, he would have been considered good-looking in the circles back home, possibly even popular. His appearance suggested that he was as annoying—if not more—than he currently seemed; the type of person who moved through life believing everyone owed them something. In this case, Ilias didn’t owe him anything, not even the courtesy of honesty.

To be quite frank, Ilias hadn’t been actively trying to sneak, but he had assumed that no one would be awake to spare notice, or at least not care enough to check where he was going. He didn’t care about not being sneaky enough, only that someone had infiltrated his personal space and carefully carved-out alone time. Between the ball events and the large student population that had crowded Hogwarts for the occasion, finding a spot for himself had started to feel like an impossible task, meaning he had to resort to nightfall to reclaim what was rightfully his.

“What’s in it for you?” Ilias shot back, rough defensiveness lacing his tone. After giving the blonde a narrowed once-over, the American boy rolled his eyes.

“I’m not sneaking." Objectively, that was a lie. "I just need to get away from…”

He hesitated, unable to pinpoint a single thing that encompassed his frustration with life, then liften an arm to gesture vaguely at the grounds around them. Was it not obvious? Ilias thought, almost bemused at the prospect of having to explain why a busy ball with loud, obnoxious children around every corner would require someone to draw back. During the ball, the gazebo had caught on fire, for God’s sake, while Ilias was still inside. Without his wand.

The timing had almost seemed comical; almost as if whenever he touched something, the world responded with rot and destruction. As tragic as it was to say, it was not the first time Ilias had seen his life flash before his eyes with nothing but casual dimissiveness. Not even the thought of that bothered him anymore. The fire had quickly been put out by nearby students without any lasting consequence, but his point still stood. It could not possibly be the first time he’d encountered someone with social burn-out. Perhaps some people were just lucky not to have to care—or more likely, oblivious.

Finally, in lack of better words, he flicked his hand in the stranger’s direction, and he concluded, “you.”

Magnus just let out a little chuckle as he looked at this boy, he already seemed very defensive which was a tell sign for Magnus he seemed worried about being caught doing whatever he was doing. He just tapped his finger on his chin as he his red eyes glowed in the darkness as well as the moonlight before he smirked. “Hm..it interest me because i pains me to see someone suck at sneaking out of somewhere, but relax I ain’t looking for trouble just couldn’t sleep and figured I’d go on a night walk where I just so happen to spot you.” Magnus had a natural talent for finding trouble and danger so it made sense that he would just so happen to find this guy trying to sneak off, where exactly Magnus didn’t know.

He let out a subtle chuckle as he just let a smirk on his face. He couldn’t believe this guy couldn’t come up with an excuse for why he was out here this late was he was getting away from Magnus. That was the dumbest thing cute he had ever heard how can you get away from someone you didn’t meet till now even that logically didn’t make any sense. “That has to be the worse excuse I’ve ever heard man, you’re trying to get away from me..someone you didn’t meet till a few moments ago when I caught you sneaking out ? Yeah makes perfect sense” He just crossed his arms as his eyes examined this guy before smirking. The Russian had a talent for guessing someone from a mile away.

“Judging by your accent and the clothes your wearing, you’re American which likely means you are from Ilvermorny and are trying to avoid someone from their, am I right about that American boy ?” He chuckled as he just looked at him. Magnus was really taking a shot in the dark here only thing that told him this guy was from America was the accent other than that he could have been from anywhere else in the world.

Honestly Magnus didn’t feel like being as hostile tonight as he normal would, maybe it was due to the new climate he was in, or possibly the allergies he was experiencing currently. He took out one of his cigarettes before using his skull lighter to light it before putting it into his mouth and taking a drag of it. He made sure when he blew the smoke out he did it away from the boy in case he didn’t like someone smoking. Magnus knew how pissy people could be with that so he figured he wouldn’t risk it with this guy. His red eyes move onto the boy again, he had to admit he had killer looks however Magnus knew someone much prettier was was currently sleeping right now. “Listen i don’t know why you’re out here this late However I’ll keep my mouth shut if I can join ya, it’s too stuff in my tent and I think I’m allergic to this environment anyway. My name is Magnus by the way.”
