That ravenclaw prefect could chase no longer. Poppy needed to catch up, and there was only one thing that came to his mind to do. Only problem was that it wasn’t exactly a legal move. He himself thought sports could only be enhanced by a fair bit of cheating. Made it all the more interesting. The only thing stopping him was usually his damned conscience. When not everyone was on-board with cheating, and he wasn’t in a mood, he felt bad even before having done said illegal moves. Still, there was little other choice. «Let’s disturb the chasing eagle, shall we?» He mumbled to Zeph as they made their way over.

The distance was crossed, and he attempted to make himself as large and distracting as possible. They were unstable enough on a shared broom that he only dared to wave one arm. The other was hooked around his mate to help them both remain in balance. «Hey Clark! That’s not where the snitch is. It’s over there!» Not particularly smart, nor quippy. But it was the best he could think of in the moment. It was a wonder it worked at all really, but thankfully it did. He suppressed a snicker as the referee called them out. No unfairness there, and he didn’t really want to argue it either.

In the role of Beater, if you hit an opponent with a bludger the bludger will then ricochet off that user and target a second opponent of choice at disadvantage (must be declared, if not declared the target will be random and can be an ally but not yourself). Ricochet damage is 75% of the original hit.

Zephyr wondered what Ebony thought about those people who kept on breaking the rules. In a way it was embarrassing to hear their names attached to fouls, he was never one to break rules but apparently, it’s what he and Max had been doing for the past couple of rounds now. Max suggested interfering with the opposing Seeker, and he already knew where this was heading, it’s not exactly difficult to figure out. They spent the last few rounds trying to buy every advantage they could get, and the said Seeker was the biggest obstacle standing between their Seeker and the snitch. He threw the blonde Ravenclaw a curious glance and then looked behind him, at Max. “Subtle as always.” They have already been caught once, what was another penalty lap?

Keeping the broom steady remained a difficult challenge. As ridiculous as their plan was, it could still work and if they’re successful, then they will buy Poppy some time. He chuckled when they set the plan in motion, doubted it at first, it should not have worked, but it did! “No way that actually…” He was not able to finish as Ebony called for another penalty lap. Wincing, he didn’t protest, it was all worth it. Starting their penalty lap, his attention went back towards the rest of the match. Poppy was now fighting for the quaffle together with Julia and Elena. He found himself cheering when she finally managed to get one through the Keeper’s defence. “Go go go, Poppy!”

Unfortunately, Elena was determined to prove she could do everything at once. Even after being thrown off course, she recovered and put two goals on the board for the Thunderbolts. “That girl is good it’s annoying.” His brows furrowed deeply as he muttered. Laasya sent the bludger towards Rafal because let’s face it, the guy was also annoying. He thought it might actually hit him but Prat intercepted it and redirected the shot straight into Denise. The impact made him wince. Yikes, the only consolation was that Denise somehow stayed on her broom, which was impressive all by itself. It was Damien who shocked him the most as the other guy decided to throw himself into people. Fortunately for them, Denise saved the day before Laasya hit the ground. “Good catch, Denise!” He shook his head as he glanced at Max. “Think we’re ever going to have a normal round, or is that asking too much?”

When the round started things were looking fine. Max and Zeph, free from their penalty lap had increased the distance between Elena and the snitch so that she would be nearly on the same page as Poppy. It however earned them another penalty lap but at this point who cared? The thunderbolts had their own filthy cheater to worry about.

Laasya observed the tussle for the quaffle; Jules, Poppy and Elena were all trying to get to it. Poppy had managed to get it but that keeper had blocked it. It was only one time that Poppy was able to score. “Great job Poppy!” She called out. Elena however, despite getting disoriented by Zeph and Max had scored 20 points. Thankfully, the Golden Phoenix were still in the lead, but the difference was 10 points smaller. The thing was, she did not see Harlan or Damien fighting. She hoped that Damien wasn’t planning on doing anything to her teammates.

A bludger ventured her way and she decided to hit it towards Rafal. It was so close, really close but then that little git Prat decided it would be a nice idea to intercept it. And it went to poor Denise out of all people. She winced as it hit, thankfully she was still flying. 

Her eyes widened as she saw a figure flying at top speed towards her. And as fate would had it, it was Dragonclaw. With all the bludger chaos she had completely forgot about him. She had to get out of there as soon as possible. But she was too late. “Wham!!” The chaser had slammed into her with so much force and accuracy that she ended up slipping of her broom and falling down, but not before hearing the referee’s whistle. Honestly, this thunderbolt seemed like he was trying to flirt with a certain someone, and the beater ended up being a part of his plan, unwillingly.

As the ground approached, she ended up falling on to someone’s broom. And it was Denise! She had sacrificed the hoops to the other team in order to save her. If it wasn’t for her, she would have hit the ground like Elisa. “Thank you so much!” She managed to say. Honestly, when did they ever have a round where someone wasn’t bludgered or fouled?

Harumi had to admit, she was starting to get bored, she kept cheering her team, but watching people constantly get hurt made her rather excited to end this all soon. It's not that she felt sad or worried, no, by now it felt more like a small inconvenience, because she got used to it. However, the Hufflepuff girl wasn't the kind to disregard others pain like it's nothing, so she kept reminding herself that those getting hurt are her friends and fellow students.

----While observing everyone she saw Max and Zephyr, whom she was just cheering go ahead and cheat, then off on a penalty lap they go. She sighed and continued watching, even cheating felt normal, crazy what joining one quidditch game makes you feel.

----Without more thinking she looked at the others to see what's happening with the quaffle. She saw Poppy and Julia combining their efforts to score but in the end they only managed to score once, Harumi was glad they did, even if it's only 10 points, it's still something. And where is Harlan anyway?

----While looking around for Harlan, she saw Denise get hit by a bludger whom Prat intercepted from Laasya. Ouch! And there is Harlan, he seemed to have been trying to blatch Prat, at least the girl guessed so. And before she can decide who to look at next, she sees Laasya falling and Denise saving her.

----This match had too much drama, half of her team is injured at this point and all she can do is watch.

I was the only chaser left on my team - Damien and Rafal were on penalty laps. No pressure then! But, we were only 20 points behind, thanks to Elena scoring, despite being a seeker.
There was lots of cheering coming through the air, but none of it directed at me, sadly. I kept flying around in a circle, wondering whether to attempt a loop, but worried that I would fall off, and possibly break my skull.
I craned my neck to see what else was going on, but quickly got bored. It was just a lot of fouling, and people setting off on penalty laps.
I wondered what my team would do if I just disregarded all the instructions I had been given, taken the quaffle, and thrown it at the hoops. To be honest, I probably would've just missed the posts, and annoyed my team mates. So, I kept going around, looking for falling players. One person on the other team looked close to falling off her broom, after getting hit by the bludger. But, she was on the other team, so I wasn't going to rescue her if she fell. That would be stupid.
I pushed my hair out of my eyes, and looked around again.

Well, cheating is the norm. That's what Denise learned in her first unofficial Quidditch match. She heard Harumi Everdane cheering for Zephyr Deakin and Max Vilder. Everdane isn't a cheater, but well, it would be great to win. Denise had to agree as well.

At least they were successful again, as Deakin and Vilder snitch blocked Elena Clark. Clark was disoriented, much to Denise's delight. Clearly, they should score more. She should have guarded regardless because Clark managed to score 20 points in her disoriented state.

Instead of doing her job, well, no one is doing their job anymore, she was below searching for any falling members. She had a feeling someone in her team might get knocked out, but at least Clark chose not to score this time. Instead of watching Clark so intensely and wishing she were back in the hoops, she was distracted and felt a bludger hit her back.

Damn, that hurts. She thought. Mirada Johnson was doing the same thing as well, looking for falling members.

Well, hopefully, she wouldn't catch Prat Pass. Harlan Montgomery chose to blanch Prat Pass. Well, is anyone doing their job anymore? Clearly not.

Prat Pass evaded, much to Denise's horror. Unlike Vilder, Deakin, and Devereux, who were bad at cheating, at least Montgomery was good at cheating.

Damien Dragonclaw KOB'ed Laasya Manjunath, which horrified Denise.

Finally, she was doing something.

Rushing, she sped through.

Oh my god, what am I supposed to do? No one ever taught me how to catch a falling person off their broom!

Clunk! Manjunath landed, and Denise took a breath of relief.

The Golden Phoenixes really needed to lock in, especially with two brooms already being shared.

The Quidditch pitch was a nightmarish bloodbath. Bludgers flew at break-neck speed, gutting players left and right. God knows how many fouls had already been committed in the last thirty minutes – almost all the Thunderbolts’ Chasers were on penalty laps for their misgivings. Dragonclaw had just successfully pulled off throwing a first-year off her broom, bringing a gleeful smirk to Valour’s face. Irritatingly enough, the girl landed on another’s broom, remaining in play – for now.

Elena was absolutely dominating the pitch, earning from unwanted attention from the enemy team. Practically playing Chaser, she scored again and again, all while scouring the court for the Snitch. Of course, all good things seemed short-lived in this game – Max and Zephyr, Valour’s new deposed targets, blocked her path, setting her back by considerable grounds in her search.

By this point, nearly all of the second-strings were standing on the bleachers, bellowing obscenities and screaming for their teammates to focus. It was going to be a close game and it was looking like it’d be ending soon enough. With the Phoenixs losing star sixth-year Cash Ironwoods, now was the time to strike. Valour’s gaze landed on arguably one of the strongest teammates they had, Prat Pass. She put her index finger and thumb to her lips and let rip an ear-piercing whistle.

“STOP FUCKING AROUND, PASS.”
